    The fish sandwich

The food is good. The service is OK and the ambience of the place is great but I came during a slow time so I'm not 100% sure but it's in an old building down in Eagle Square with the brick motive.

I give it a 3 and the hubs gives it a 4 so 3.5 it is! It's a local watering hole right near the Capitol with your standard bar food and drink There were some great burgers and sandwiches and for a pescatarian like me some good options as well. I was not really looking for anything fried (except sweet potato fries)so I asked for the chicken Caprese sandwich minus the chicken. It came on French bread which IMO WAS too soft to be considered French bread but it was still good. Mark had the same thing with chicken which he loved. Moist chicken and crispy onion rings made him very happy. He also agreed the bread was a tad bit soft. We ate outside and although we were the only ones our waiter was attentive. Major points for not only sweet potato fries but WAFFLE sweet potato fries. Perfectly crisp and salty. I could have only had that and would have been a happy camper!

This place is super cute. A bit tricky to find, but open late and right downtown. From its ambiance you'd expect terrible bar food but don't judge a book by its cover. I had a Greek salad with chicken that was fresh, crisp, and refreshing. The service was great too. There's great patio seating outside on the upper level that has cute hanging lights, whereas downstairs has more of a divey but friendly feel. Late on a Sunday night this was one of the only places downtown we could find open to eat and so happy we did!

Great place and food. Sitting outside on a beautiful summer night was fantastic. Drinks are good. Good is really good. The folks are very nice and attentive. The Jack Daniels burger was tasty. Teriyaki steak tip were good. The "2 hot 2 handle" wings were about a 6 out of 10 on heat of you have been around and tried a bunch of hot stuff. Nice long happy hour each day from 2-9p.

We stopped in here while at the local festival. The outside seating allowed us to listen to the live band in the atrium. Service wise I give them a one star. It took forever to put in our drink order and then we didn't even get the drinks until our food came. Our drinks were the local brewery and were just in cans, so there was no reason for the delay. Our food was not bad, I liked the chicken Caesar wrap I had and it came with a good size side of fries. Wife had the honey chicken salad, she enjoyed it as well. If they can get the staff better then the review would increase.

The staff seemed frantic but they were working very promptly to make sure customers could be seated. I was told that our party of 2 would be about 15-20 mins. They took my phone # to add to the waitlist. The wait was more like 6 or 7 mins. We were seated in the bar area at the booths. The bar is somewhat loud but it was still average. It's nice that they can accommodate parties of 2 so easily. There were several large groups, primarily families so it's certainly kid-friendly. They serve up some of the BEST fries! I suggest the O'Crabby Patty. It is on the heavy side with caramelized onions but wow is it packed with flavor. I will be getting that again for sure!

The mashed cauliflower was heaven!! So flavorful! But what really sold me was they had an actual diaper changing pad and table in the family bathroom!! AMAZING!! As a new mom it was so great to have an actual pad to lay my child on and not have to worry about something attached to a wall. That made my night! The icing on the cake was the absolute disrespect and rudeness of the manager, when the check came there was an issue. We asked for the manager, because the waiter didn't understand what our complaint was. She arrived at the table clearly irritated that she had to come. My friend tried to explain the problem, she then became more irritated and yelled at my friend that she wasn't going to argue with him. I said he isn't arguing he's explaining, she grabbed the check and said fine I'll fix it and stormed away. Not great. And rude.

Onions Pub & Restaurant turned out to be one of those places that makes you glad you trusted the reviews. Housed in the historic Tilton Inn, the restaurant has plenty of character before you even open the menu. We chose the pub side, which has a fun, relaxed atmosphere and felt like exactly the right place to kick off the evening. We started by sharing the French onion soup, and I'm glad we did. It was outstanding and easily one of the better versions I've had in quite some time. My partner ordered one of the entrée salads, which looked fresh, generous, and every bit as satisfying as my fish and chips. I paired the fish and chips with a Smithwick's Irish Red Ale. The fish was crisp, flaky, and satisfying--the kind of pub meal that's hard to improve on. The service added just as much to the experience as the food. Our waitress was also tending bar and happily shared the story behind both the historic inn and the restaurant's unusual name. As we learned, "Onion" is actually an affectionate nickname for Bermudians, a nod to the island's once-famous onion exports. Since the owner is half Bermudan, the name fits perfectly. She was one part bartender, one part server, and one part docent, and it made the whole experience that much more enjoyable. Onions is a little quirky in all the right ways, with good food, welcoming people, and a setting that feels like it has stories to tell. If you're in the area--whether you're heading to a concert or just passing by on I-93--it's well worth the stop. Five stars.
