We were in the area and decided to stop by based on their great Yelp reviews. We found parking right in front of the restaurant and were greeted as soon as we walked in by their friendly hostess. We were lucky to arrive without a reservation when we did because it quickly filled up with customers. The place is somewhat small and has an open kitchen concept. Outdoor seating is also available when weather permits. Please note that due to its size, they have only one unisex bathroom available. We started with the Gouda Tot Clam Dip. The picture posted on their website shows six potato tots, yet our serving came with four. It was pleasant and tasty. For my main course, I ordered the Peach Glazed Pork. The dish had a nice presentation. I found the pork to be drier than I would have expected, but it was still edible. I guess I had higher expectations. Despite a few minor disappointments, this is a charming local restaurant that is worth a visit, especially if you're in the area. read more

Phenomenal food. Some of the best food I've had in New Hampshire period. The autumn salad was a highlight, but my steak was also cooked perfectly, the mocktails were thoughtfully crafted and balanced, and the apps were delicious. Our server, Seth, was warm and friendly. I really liked this place. We came on the spur of the moment. I suspect you normally need a reservation, but it was during the week in the dead of winter. It's located in a cute old train station. We were able to sit right away. Her waitress was delightful. The menu is interesting. In the way you can mix and match items. Half price for the appetizers during certain times of the week. Raw oyster bar right in Laconia! Fantastic, prepped and served exactly right with an ice platter and dips. Classy. The Martini and Cosmo/with splash of peach schnapps, was perfect. The swordfish and duck were scrumptious and showed the chef's top-notched skills. OK, it was pricey, but was a superb blend of New England cuisine and high-end chef's creativity. I would say this is the top professional chef restaurant in the area. Worth the price on special occasions for sure. The service was friendly and excellent as well. I would, however, rate the ambiance as average. They did have a fresh flower on the table and a candle; but, they should up the decor maybe with a New England theme, adding some pictures on the bare walls. I would definitely go back! read more

Hands down and by far the best food we've had in the area. We came here after our plan A spot was closed for the season (with no warning on yelp, Google, their website or social media) Seth, the host and waiter, found us a cozy table for two right away and had a great and welcoming energy to him. We started with a couple of cocktails (fall margarita and an old fashion). The cocktails are strong but tasty! For appetizers we got the mussels and butternut arancini. I don't eat mussels but I did try a piece of bread in the garlicy sauce that they came in and it makes sense why and how my boyfriend devoured them so quickly. The arancini is what really stole my heart. It was soooo perfectly crunchy on the outside but melty and soft on the inside. The flavor was out of this world. We shared the beet salad and I never want to eat beets any other way. The texture was phenomenal and the dressing was so well paired with the cheese and beets. For dinner I got the lamb ragu and my boyfriend got the pork chop. Again, I don't love pork chops, but this one had the most unbelievable flavor and was so perfectly cooked that I regretted not getting it myself until I tried the lamb with gnocchi. I have no idea how the chef came up with the flavors but they were so perfectly combined and it was such a large portion, but no piece was left behind. I wish we had room for dessert but we were stuffed from apps and dinner. I recommend this place for any local or just passerby. The waiter said they normally don't keep something on the menu for more than 5 or 6 weeks, so I'm excited to keep up with the reviews and see what the restaurant puts out next! read more

Really enjoyed eating here. I didn't feel pressured to order more than I wanted and felt pretty comfortable a a solo diner. Service was prompt but not overbearing. I had a smaller-sized blood orange & burrata salad with pistachios, pomegranate seeds & greens and some foccacia and a cocktail. It can be challenging to eat vegetarian in NH sometimes but there were a few options to choose from. Next time back east, I'll be in to try the arancini. read more

All around a great experience. We arrived early (at opening) and asked for a table. They cheerfully welcomed us in (even though, as we watched later, most were asked about reservations). Enjoyed the attentive service, haddock bites, Arctic Char, beignets, bread, and more. Being new to the area, our server explained the special night, the venue across the street, and the history of the restaurant. A great place in what seems to be a food desert of an area. The hummus had too much garlic in it. The linguini was good, but I thought too much sauce per pasta ratio and the blood orange trifle was bitter. But when I told the waiter about the trifle, he took it off our bill. The food seemed fairly priced and it's a cute spot. There aren't a lot of tables, so probably need reservations on a busy nights. read more

I'm in the middle of the road with Laconia Local Eatery. We dropped in late one evening recently for a bite to eat. They were kind but super busy. The team were all visually annoyed by yet another table to take care of that evening. They didn't say it but you could feel the energy change the minute we walked in and were seated. The table was right by the door and it was cold out... they can't control the layout of their restaurant necessarily but I personally cannot stand to sit next to a door that opens repeatedly in the cold. Waters came to the table and menus were provided. The bar was limited. We were immediately advised that we were on a time limit and needed to be ready sooner-rather-than later. They were politely rude. Prices were high. Selection was limited. It just wasn't the right place at the right time. We dismissed ourselves and found another establishment and ended up very much so enjoying our evening. read more

Have never had mocha butter before n this was different. So many interesting items on menu n tough choice picking a dish. We settled on the egg plant caponata, fried delicata n onion, pear n squash salad. EP caponata was so good n flavorful. The delicata was squash rings dipped in batter n fried w Pearl onions n a nice aioli sauce. Something different healthy ( yes fried) n delicious. The salad was good w greenery, Pears n squash. For entrees we had the haddock bites , filet w garlic butter mashed potato n roasted squash n winter squash risotto w pan seared char. Haddock bites were moist n crispy. We had a nice experience, but this is probably not a restaurant I would return to. Our appetizers were pretty good, but our entrees were just fine for the price. My husband had pork chops while I had the scallops. My scallops were seared well and good quality, but the risotto tasted very bitter and was hard to eat. It seemed that no one else had tasted it. My husband's pork chop was pretty good, not great. The portions were quite small. Our waitress was really nice, but she was clearly still learning. Again, nothing was bad, but my expectations are justifiably high at this price point. Also, it was a really hot evening and the restaurant was quite warm. Came in on valentine's day weekend after getting turned around at almost every other restaurant in the area - they got us in quickly and we were excited to see their special - 2 apps 2 salads 2 entrees and a dessert for $150. a steal. the food was awesome but the part that really stood out to us was the service. Our server Cara was spectacular. She genuinely went above and beyond even a she was serving many other tables. It is rare these days to feel that your server truly cares about your experience and that is exactly how she made us feel. I'll just start off by saying that if I had a restaurant I would want it to be just like this one. I called and let them know it was my parents 59th wedding anniversary, they found us a table and totally accommodated us. The experience was perfect, from the service, to the ambiance of the space and of course the food. Everything we ordered was just fabulous. Their menu changes with the season, which means you will always find something fresh and newly inspired. My only regret is I don't live closer to this place, but I'm so thankful I had the privilege to experience it at least once. if you are near this place go check it out! I like medium, and asked for pink and juicy. Her suggestion was to order medium rare and it was perfect. There was a small wine list...but incredibly tasty red wines for the money, especially the Zins. I want to say the whites list needed help, but the diversity was fantastic. We enjoyed a beautiful Saturday early evening meal before a show at the Colonial Theater. We didn't have reservations, but we're able to accommodate our party of two. We enjoyed the beer selection, and shared a tasty kale salad and gyro flatbread. All was wonderfully prepared and our server was a delight and knowledgeable. First time we visited this wonderful establishment. We decided to try the chef's special they offered for two and was not disappointed . The deviled eggs and the surprise of smoked bluefish were excellent and presentation nicely done. The salads were perfect and the entrees of filet for one and scallops for the other were cooked to perfection. Dessert did not disappoint us either, we agreed on the crème brûlée and was a great ending. Overall, service was good recommend offering a glass when a beer is served but my only complaint. We were very excited to try the oysters for buck-a-shuck night on Thursdays, but were quickly disappointed. I successfully called in and made a reservation ahead of time but were told upon seating that they were out of oysters. We came when they opened at 5pm, but was told that if you come for buck-a-shuck night that you also have to request the amount of oysters when placing the reservation so they can order and set aside some for you. This is only during the colder months, where in summer they order more and reserving oysters is not required. These instructions were not listed on the website and were not given to us when placing the reservation on the phone. Customer service was good and we will be coming back another week to try the oysters, but I hope this issue can be resolved. While we were there, we tried the mussels and bbq burnt ends. Both small plates were decent in taste, but extremely overpriced and for the portion size. You will be paying roughly $15-$25 for appetizers and $22-$50+ for the main entrees.
