Saturday night. The place was not crowded, even on bike weekend. The service was good. The wine list was average. Nothing outstanding. The food was a disappointment. My husband's filet mignon lacked flavor. The mashed potatoes were gummy and translucent. They should not have been served. My salmon special came out with the wrong sides, not once, but twice. They tried to give me those disgusting mashed potatoes and green beans, when the specials page said pilaf and asparagus. When I finally got the rice pilaf, it lacked seasoning. The asparagus were blackened. After being sent back twice, the salmon was warm, not hot. The pub food may be good. If you're looking for a burger and a beer, that meal might be enjoyed with a view of the golf course. Sorry Greenside, we're not coming back. read more

We had a wonderful experience on mother's day.It was amazing!! If chefs wear incredible, the servers were so wonderful, even though they had so many tables to tend to, they still got back to us. No matter what and we understand how it is with servers, it's very hard for them to actually attend to one table. So we understand and we know how things are made. It takes time to make certain things that you order. It's not quick when certain items but when you order. I'm burger, and it's quicker Vs something more exotic. That's wonderful or something that takes longer to cook. So we waited and waited, and we got our order. And it was so amazing. It was just wonderful, we thank you so much for this wonderful day. This used to be an excellent restaurant, back when they had a chef. Now the food is more like the frozen stuff you buy in 20lb wholesale bags from a club membership store. Four of us went to dinner there in September, 2025. Here was our experience: * Beer was either watered down or bottom of the keg * Server very inattentive. My friend asked for ice for her water and the girl brought it in a hot glass seemingly right out of the dishwasher. * Oh, and the server never came back to fill her water. * The "fish" of the fish and chips looked like something even the Gorton's fisherman wouldn't serve. Obviously plucked out of a freezer bag and thrown into the fryer. * Two of us ordered the steak bomb. My friend asked for no mushrooms. The server said it was "all mixed together." What?!! This is New England! That's not how a real, fresh steak bomb is made. But that should have been our BIG clue! The alleged "steak bomb" looked more like Fresh Pet dog food on a roll. And tasted like I can only guess what Fresh Pet might taste like. Neither of us took more than one bite of the sandwich. * You would think the server would have asked if our meal was ok, as obviously the sandwiches were barely touched. Not a chance. On the way out I ran into our server, the hostess, and what I can only guess was a manager. I told them that was the worst meal that any of us ever had. His response was he was sorry to hear that, but come back again during the week when they had music and a discount on wine. NO THANK YOU!!! It's sad to say that what was once a great place to have dinner has become a bar with a fry cook and bags of frozen food. My friend and I had dinner on a Wednesday before we went to a show. Our reservation was for 5:30 pm and we were seated right away. We had the choice of the new Pub section or dining room. We opted for the dining room. But if you haven't been here for a while you should come to check out the new Pub addition to the building. Julie was our server and she did a great job. Just the right amount of attention to check if we needed more water or another drink. She had a wonderful personality. I had a glass of Movado Moscato and I'm sorry to say I don't remember what kind of Chardonnay my friend received. It was promptly delivered. The bar didn't have the Butternut Chardonnay my friend originally ordered so poured a close substitute. Julie offered to take it off the tab but my friend was happy with it. My friend recommended the Chicken with Butternut Squash Ravioli ~ her favorite, which she also ordered. Our dinner was delivered promptly and looked amazing. The portion was a good size and was absolutely delicious. The chicken breast was moist and tasty and the butternut squash ravioli was absolutely delicious, as was the sauce which had bits of prosciutto. There were thin slices of squash which looked as though they were roasted and that offered a nice variety in texture. Stopped in on our way back from New London. Got there about 5ish , was greeted and seated right away! Hostess was nice & she brought bottled water over. Few moments after the server arrived, took drink order and we looked the menu over! Several great choices! We both had a side garden salad, they looked beautiful & they were very fresh! He had the fish fry ( was the Friday special ) I choose the Seafood Risotto. Entrees came out and looked amazing! His fish was awesome not greasy or over battered! Light and airy! ( haddock ) I took a bite or two! It was good. My seafood Risotto was very good as well, alot of shrimp , scallops & lobster , flavor was a tad bland but was not the the worst i have had, I would even order this on my next visit! Very cozy decorated in the area we sat. Waitress was on-top of stuff , but we felt relaxed and not rushed in any way. The pace of the food was perfect timing! Only reason not a 5 star is the desserts were ok but only 3 choices. 1 pie , 1 5 layer chocolate cake & lemon mascarpone cake. I was hoping for a fresh berry tart or something more seasonal. This past Wednesday was my birthday and we chose to go to Greenside. We had not been here for a couple of years and our past experiences were excellent. However the restaurant sold, unbeknownst to us, a while ago and it is not at all the same as it once was. First, with the new addition bar, the main dining room is empty and it was quite chilly. Tables are gone and only a few remaining for seating. It was pasta night and my husband ordered the chicken pam for his meal. The sauce tasted like it was out of a can. It was not a good meal for him at all. I ordered the steak tips rare which was my favorite... they were dry, not juicey and tough to chew. The carrots were so al denté that they were raw and could not be easily sliced even with a knife. The potatoes were good. I felt badly to tell this to our waitress who said she would need to speak to the manager and would replace the carrots. New carrots (LOTS of them) arrived but they too were not edible and neither was the meat. my meal was taken off the bill but I could not eat it. The manager was so loud telling us all about the sale and other things that the whole restaurant heard it much to my embarrassment. They wanted to charge an up-charge if they brought me juice for the steak tips and she was not a nice person or kind or understanding in anyway. Our waitress was wonderful. Isabella was understanding and kind and felt badly for all that had taken place. She should find a much nicer place to work. On our way out the door another few folks were heading in to play Wednesday night bingo and overheard us remarking to each other that we would not return and they said that the previous week for pasta night they did not have spaghetti and meatballs available. Sigh... this was once a nice restaurant. How sad and when I texted a friend about our mutual experiences eating with them there, they said that it was, since sold, very hit or miss and have chosen to not go there anymore as the food was so bad. The garnish, as you can see in the picture I've posted, was suppose to be fresh, but it was all brownish and dried out. Yep, my suggestion is to not go there and support this place and that the manager needs to learn manners, kindness and how to dress like a manager... Friday night about 5:30pm. The place was not busy. First time here in 5 years. I read the reviews and figured we would give it a try. I ordered the steak tips. I also changed the red bliss potatoes to white cheddar mashed. Food service delivery time was average. The steak tips came out warm at best and Extremely tough. Cheap meat for the steak tips? The cheddar mashed potatoes was cold. All three plates had never seen a plate warmer. Could be a reason for cold food? Who to blame? The cook or the food runners? My wife's scallops were good she said, "I would get them again." Always a good sign. The waiter quickly replaced my food with the fish fry. The replacement came out quickly and was good. I usually am not a Cole slaw eater, but the Cole slaw was really good. Would I come back? Not sure. read more

Decided to come here after seeing Gary Hoey in concert last night. Turned to be a very nice breakfast experience. Had the Western Omelet with a side of corned beef hash. Wife had a combo meal of French toast, scrambled eggs and bacon. Everything is good. Service excellent and we were done in an hour. Will definitely return when in the area! read more

First time we made a reservation, had a great table with a view (though most tables have a good view!) and second time we popped in without a reservation and had no problem getting seated. Chef Dave is great he always comes out and says hello when I check in there . We love having Sarah as our bartender. She knows what we like and is always right on top of it . This was our first experience at Greenside Restaurant & unfortunately it will be our last. We were a group of 10, who made a reservation 1 week earlier & had just come from an exceptionally enjoyable experience at a show earlier in the day & our spirits were high! We did arrive a few minutes late & had a nice call from Gianna, the hostess checking to see if we were still coming. She was very pleasant. Matt our waiter was also very pleasant, however, when we started asking what was taking so long, after 2 hours, we were told multiple times our food was being plated & would be out in 5 minutes. It was at least 20 minutes later, when we were again told it was being plated. Despite the excessive wait, we were enjoying our food & would not have made any complaints. However, when we were asked to package our own to go food, one member of our party inadvertently put a ceramic plate in the to go container. At that point, another waitress, Elise came to our table & said they said that they counted our dishes, & they were missing a "ramekin". I have never been so offended at a restaurant in my life. We did not have any food served in a "ramekin".... It seemed obvious, that someone noticed it in the clear to go container & instead of asking us for it, accused us of stealing it. At this point, we asked to speak to a manger. Her attitude was horrible. All she did was make excuses, and say "I'm not making excuses " about the excessive wait. She let us know that a large group of golfers had put in an order & that caused our delay. Obviously, the golfers are their priority. She could use a course in customer service! Our bill was over $700 and we left there feeling like we were accused of stealing a dish that was probably worth $2.00. It was so embarrassing Overall, this was such a disappointing experience, that we will not return. Eaten there before. Had a 6:30 PM reservation for my wife and visiting National Guard son and grandson for the prime rib night. Nice table near a window for 4 but they placed us next to the door with two chairs 4-5" out in the walkway next to the cash register. This is an expensive night out for us and being uncomfortable is just not worth the price. Very nasty encounter with the tall young lady who refused to seat us at the window because the waitress for that area was overloaded. Oldest maneuver in the book, putting a customer down. Totally insulted, by the attitude and promptly left. Will never eat there again as long as she is still there. read more

Very disappointed in our visit. We really wanted to like this restaurant as we are locals but many things just weren't right. Service was slow, and other tables that were seated after us were served before us. We ordered the prime rib special which was fatty and chewy. Asked our server for additional butter and was told that's an upcharge. Came with a tiny half filled plastic container of au jus. More was an upcharge. I asked if I come on fish night and wanted more tartar sauce is that an upcharge? Yep, it is. How this chef Dave is the best in NH is a mystery. Buyer beware. read more

I stopped for Saturday night dinner at Greenside Restaurant which is located at the Lochmere Country Club and open to the public. I entered the restaurant around 7:45 PM which was fairly quiet. I was seated in the casual lounge, carpeted with table seating and seating at the bar). There are flatscreen TVs mounted on the walls. I took a look over the dinner menu offerings which include appetizers, salads, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, steaks, chicken, pork chops, baby back ribs, seafood dishes, and pasta dishes. The prices here are fair, cold sandwiches $5.50-$6.50, hot sandwiches, burgers $6.95-$7.95, and dinner entrees $12.95-$21.95. Dinner specials are offered too. On Thursday nights, dinner for 2 for $29.95 is offered which includes garden salad or soup, choice of entrees, and a dessert. I decided on the Tour of Italy Saturday Special ($12.95), which was also "all you can eat." For the Tour of Italy, it's choose 1 pasta (pasta of the day or cheese ravioli), choose 2 meats (Italian sweet sausage, homemade meatballs, or pork cutlet), marinara sauce or no sauce, served with fresh baked rolls and butter, which was very good. For round 1, I started out with Cheese Raviolis with Marinara Sauce, Meatballs and Pork Cutlet, sprinkled with parsley, a good sized portion of food. The Cheese Raviolis were cooked firm, the breaded pork cutlet was very tender and juicy, and the 2 meatballs were big and firm, a bit dry inside. The marinara sauce was a bit on the salty side, but still pretty good overall. For the final round, I ordered Penne with Marinara Sauce and Italian sausage (I passed on the second meat choice this round), another good sized portion. The penne was cooked al dente and the big Italian sausage was firm and the outside and soft inside. That was definitely a lot of food and I could not eat another bite and passed on the offer for dessert, perhaps next time. The service was pretty laid back and relaxed in the lounge. My water glass was refilled during dinner. The food was served in acceptable time and the reorder on the pasta was prompt. read more

We stopped in on a Saturday morning while passing through town and were very pleased with our choice! At first, we had a little trouble figuring out the entrance as the outdoor signs for parking were a little vague as well as the ones inside leading to the actual dining room, but once we found our way around, we ordered and had a wonderful meal. The crepe of the day was delicious and the farmers breakfast was plenty big enough to keep my boyfriend happy. Prices were extremely reasonable and the staff was very friendly. We stopped in on a Sunday for a late breakfast, around 11:00am. We are from Concord and had decided to head north to the Tiltn Diner. After walking inside and not being greeted and not wanting to deal with the crowds and long wait, we chose to leave and just head down the road to see what our other breakfast options were. It was not long after that we stumbled upon Greenside. We saw the sign for breakfast and the few cars in the lot and decided to give it a shot. We were immediately greeted and sat down at a corner table surrounded by windows. The hostess served us coffee and gave us menus. Our waitress, Stacy, promptly arrived at our table and shared the specials du jour. My boyfriend ordered one of the specials, a buffalo chicken omelette with homefries and rye toast. I noticed they weren't serving lunch on Sundays, but asked Stacy if there was a chance they could make me a b.l.t. Stacy went into the kitchen and returned to confirm with me that indeed they would fulfill my request, and asked me if I'd like my sandwich toasted or grilled and on which kind of bread. Food arrived quicky, but not too quickly. Everything was excellent. I reccomend Greenside to anyone looking for a quality meal at a fair fare. We were surprised to have a wait for breakfast at 10 on Sunday but we choose to stay and once seated the service was prompt and accurate. Between the four of us we had a large variety from french toast to egg dishes and all were good. It's not a cheap diner but the menu is varied and reasonably priced. The dining room was bright with even a bit of a view which is unexpected along this road. There seems to be a few options in the area but this was a good choice. It was particularly disappointing that the strawberry crepe special had frozen berries rather than fresh; odd when fresh strawberries should be readily available at this time of year and more so when listed as a special.
