    Burrito Mexicano
    Shannon R.

Some of the most flavorful food I've ever had! Everything we had was extremely well-seasoned, including the rice and beans, meat, and all of the sauces. I ordered my meal to go, but the ambiance was nice! Hopeful that I will have another opportunity to visit this restaurant soon. INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS!!!

Amazing food amazing service. Try the fijita casaigos. Real food by real people. My friends had the burrito and the ribeye steak. They were very happy I choose to come here.

The restaurant was busy on a Sunday around 2 PM. We were seated promptly and our server took our order within a couple minutes of being seated. The margarita was served quickly and the chips and salsa was not far behind. After our abysmal experience at Onions across the street, the quick service was a pleasant surprise. I grew up between SoCal and the southwest so I'm picky about Mexican food. This was pretty solid for East Coast fare. I use the East Coast qualifier because, let's be real - the Mexican food here isn't in the same realm as West Coast Mexican food. The salsa is fine. Nothing amazing, but definitely better than what one would find at most Mexican places. The house marg was great and also on happy hour pricing. I'd come back for the margs alone. The entrees were good. The red sauce on the burrito was better than the green. The chimichanga menu description says shredded chicken or beef so I expected shredded beef, but got ground which was disappointing. It seems like they boil their beef to cook it which is fine, but I prefer it fried. There was something weird in the guacamole - it was like a rock of some sort. Not sure what it was nor why it was in there. Kind of creepy, but I just didn't eat the guac. We didn't try dessert but the menu had some good sounding offerings. I was immediately concerned that the sopapillas were described as cut up pita. That's NOT what a sopa is. Idk if this is some description for gringos or if they actually use pita. Hopefully not the latter...

Visited with my family for the weekend from Rhode Island. The service was friendly, and our food arrived in a timely manner. The menu offers a wide variety of options, which we appreciated. I had the Carne Asada, and it was delicious. Despite the ambience being busy, the staff was attentive whenever we needed anything. It's a great, family-friendly spot to enjoy a tasty meal.

Went into the concord location today while doing a lil xmas shopping! The service is amazing, friendly and fast. We had chips & salsa , I had Taquitos and my daughter had the Chipotle burrito! Food is amazing , I have nothing but good things to say about this place!

First visit to this restaurant and not sure we will return. The service was great waitstaff was attentive but the kitchen rushed the meal. We started with Queso Fundido which was okay but was very watery for our taste. We had just started to eat it when our entree arrived!! That was a meal downer!!! I had the enchiladas lunch deal for $6.99, I got the shredded beef and cheese-the shred was more cubed and tasted eh....the cheese was good. My husband had the Enchiladas Suizas which was just good

Chicken chimichanga, chicken fajitas, rice and beans, chips, salsa and guacamole on the table at our Airbnb.

Staying at a nearby Airbnb we decided to use Yelp to check out the local fare. Many restaurants are doing indoor seating, but we opted for takeout. The food was super fresh and flavorful. The portions are generous. I had the chicken chimichanga dinner, and my parter had the chicken fajita dinner. Each came with chips and salsa and toppings (guacamole, sour cream, tomatoes and shredded lettuce in a separate box, which was a really nice touch!) we added a side of guacamole which came in a small recyclable covered bowl. My only criticism would be the box that the toppings came in was non recyclable styrofoam. All the other packaging is recyclable. Placing the order was painless. The gentleman answering the phone was incredibly friendly. The wait time for pickup was brisk! (10 minutes!) we had actually attempted to place an order the night before (a Friday night around 6pm) and the line never rang though. (But it was great. We tried a different place and loved that too.) Thanks for the fantastic food, Casamegos!

Food was delicious, service was great, the ambiance was great as well. It's a small place and those are the best in my opinion. We are from Mass and were visiting the area, we chose this restaurant over another one nearby, best decision. We had margaritas and oh my!! There was no food left in the plate, it just couldn't go to waste.

Chile Colorado con charro beans and habanero salsa
    Joseph H.

Even after a recommendation I honestly was apprehensive about coming here; but I was pleasant surprised in the quality of the food I received. The basic salsa is nothing to write home about- but the jalapeño infused margarita and flavorful main dish were very tasty indeed. I ordered the Chile Colorado substituting their Charro beans for the standard refried... add a side of their "salsa picante" habanero salsa and it was on. The subtle taste of the red Chile sauce mixed with the tender steak- awesome. And the charro beans- not every place you can get the mix of spices (including everyone's favorite spice-bacon) in all its goodness complemented nicely with a topping of sweet and spicy habanero on top (available upon request). Definitely recommend and will be back next time I'm in town.

Veggie enchiladas with rice, beans, and sides of lettuce and sour cream

It was our first time in this cute little hole-in-the-wall (authentic) Mexican restaurant. The staff were very cordial, attentive, and nice. Nice decor and authentic folk music. Food was served quickly, and was absolutely delicious! Great veggie and non-veggie options.

    Maria G.

Friendly staff. Good service. Great salsa and chips served free when seated. Husband got the taco salad. Said it was okay. I got enchiladas tres colore. They were tasty. But honestly, the thing that turns me off in most Mexican restaurants is when they use frozen vegetables in the rice. I'd cone back again to try other dishes. But not the rice.

One would not expect to find truly excellent Mexican food in a small NH town -- even the earnestly…read moreself-stylized "Recreation Center of New Hampshire." El Tequila does not break the mold. This unassuming restaurant does, however, punch above its weight when it comes to hospitality and reasonably-priced, enjoyable-enough Mexican-American food. They accommodated our enormous group of around 30 adults and children on short notice, and with grace. Food came out relatively quickly, though not surprisingly, given the size of our group, staggered in waves. Thin tortilla chips and a thin, almost tomato-sauce-like salsa were complimentary at the start of the meal. They weren't our cup of tea, but we appreciated this increasingly rare courtesy, and our subsequent side orders of guacamole were excellent. My Camarones al Mojo de Ajo ($21.95) were appropriately garlicky, the small, well-textured shrimp sautéed with plenty of onions and the tiny bits of garlic you typically get from a jar. Although the portion size wasn't quite as generous as those of my convives, the shrimp were imbued with flavor and overall enjoyable. The dish came with orange-tinged rice (a little hard and dry) and a salad of iceberg lettuce, chopped tomatoes, onions, and cilantro, with a bit more of that excellent guacamole tucked underneath. Some of our friends enjoyed enormous servings of chicken and steak fajitas. Others were less impressed by their burritos, which came drizzled with a Velveeta-like cheese sauce. Unfortunately, steak tacos came with flour tortillas -- not our preference -- but they were generously filled with flavorful (if slightly dry) steak. Cocktails were large and reportedly light on alcohol + sugary. Despite the rather dreary strip mall that El Tequila is tucked into, the inside is festive and cheerful, painted with colorful murals. A bar and large screen TVs line one side, making it an easy place to dine alone should you wish to do so. Would we eat here if the restaurant were in NYC? Probably not. But for a family- and group-friendly, casual restaurant in a NH town, population 7,000, we were more than pleased.

But we were happily surprised! The food was great and the Margarita was fantastic! Music, atmosphere, and service were fantastic as well. We shared the fajitas vida (more than enough for two) and I had the Vida Margarita. The initial salsa we were served for the complimentary chips was a bit sus because it was more of a tomato base sauce one would find in a "Mexican" restaurant that caters to the palate of people who can't handle spice (which is fine but not authentic) but the salsa that came with the food was perfect. Highly recommend!

We were seated right away and given chips and salsa--the salsa was kind of bland, and the chips had no salt. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, which we appreciated. My wife ordered the enchilada combo with three different enchiladas. She doesn't like spicy food, and it turned out to be spicy, but no one mentioned that ahead of time. Still, she said it was good overall. I ordered the "pick three" combo with one side. It came on a giant plate (as you can see in the pictures). The tamale was decent but lacking flavor, the enchilada was okay and a little spicy (which I didn't mind), and the chimichanga was easily the best part of the meal--really good. The black beans were not good at all, though--they tasted off, almost sour, so I left them. For dessert, I got the churros to go. The menu doesn't say they're stuffed, but they were--filled with caramel and served with chocolate chip ice cream, hot fudge, and whipped cream. They were excellent. Prices were fair, and I'd probably go back, but it's not really my type of Mexican food. I prefer fresher Tex-Mex flavors, and this place leans more toward heavy cheese and sauces.

Onions Pub & Restaurant turned out to be one of those places that makes you glad you trusted the reviews. Housed in the historic Tilton Inn, the restaurant has plenty of character before you even open the menu. We chose the pub side, which has a fun, relaxed atmosphere and felt like exactly the right place to kick off the evening. We started by sharing the French onion soup, and I'm glad we did. It was outstanding and easily one of the better versions I've had in quite some time. My partner ordered one of the entrée salads, which looked fresh, generous, and every bit as satisfying as my fish and chips. I paired the fish and chips with a Smithwick's Irish Red Ale. The fish was crisp, flaky, and satisfying--the kind of pub meal that's hard to improve on. The service added just as much to the experience as the food. Our waitress was also tending bar and happily shared the story behind both the historic inn and the restaurant's unusual name. As we learned, "Onion" is actually an affectionate nickname for Bermudians, a nod to the island's once-famous onion exports. Since the owner is half Bermudan, the name fits perfectly. She was one part bartender, one part server, and one part docent, and it made the whole experience that much more enjoyable. Onions is a little quirky in all the right ways, with good food, welcoming people, and a setting that feels like it has stories to tell. If you're in the area--whether you're heading to a concert or just passing by on I-93--it's well worth the stop. Five stars.
