To Priceeeeeeeeee tortia chips ok salsa spicey, rice was good, nachos were small portion for to much money see pic, nice atmosphere. Fajitas chicken no taste bland, $26.00 and added sour cream $2.50 and cheddar cheese $3.50. Over $30 no good. so we were hungry and was ok but prices screwed it up. Caso dip $14.00 no chips, 1st bowl of tortia chips free and 2nd one $5.00 No left overs so that tells you something. If I lived around here and prices were lower I would come more often. Live in Laconia NH will not eat here again to expensive. Travel by here all the time. Very nice people servers Very customer service orientated but nickel and dime prices made it a suck.

This visit to El Mariachi was in search of authentic Mexican food on a rainy Sunday afternoon, and Wow!! The atmosphere was warm & decorated cleverly. Our bartender, Augustine, was friendly & started by serving us margaritas. We had standard margaritas made with fresh lime juice & a spicy raspberry one. We're off to a great start, as the drinks were tasty! Between us, we had a beef burrito, steak fajita, fish tacos & Sopa de Pollo. Everyone enjoyed their food. It was fresh, authentic & absolutely delicious. Even though the chicken soup was simple, it was full of flavor. Oddly enough, the star of the meal may have been the refried beans. Yes, that's what I said. I never knew that refried beans could taste so good. This visit exceeded my expectations and I never expected to find such well prepared, authentic Mexican cuisine in the White mountains of NH. I'll be back for food, drinks & great service!

Came here after a long hike, so this review was written on a very happy and filled stomach. Needless to say, the food was honestly pretty good. I'd say Americanized Mexican on the east coast all has a pretty average standard of being very good, and this restaurant fits right into that standard. It's nothing compared to something you may find on the West Coast/Mexico itself, but it is very good. The atmosphere was great and the staff was happy and welcoming. We had a good conversations and shared laughs with some of the staff. The ambience again was welcoming! Overall, great experience for a nice little restaurant after a hike in the new hampshire mountains.

Service is excellent. Food is fresh, authentic and delicious. I was here maybe 2 years ago and remember that they were short staffed . Not the case now. I'm glad I came and will be back again.

    Mole Poblano (heaven)

El Mariachi was the perfect spot for dinner with a group of friends! The atmosphere is welcoming and the food was more than satisfying. I visited recently with five friends for a late dinner. Our waitress was extremely accommodating and patiently explained certain menu items to my group. She was fantastic and professional throughout our visit. Every single one of us was thrilled with our meals. Someone literally said "this is the best Mexican food I've ever had" ever 10 minutes after being served. I enjoyed the Mole Poblano (moist chicken with mole sauce) and it was more than on point. Best mole I've had outside of Mexico. It was a little sweeter and more peanut focused as compared to other Mole I've had - perfection! All six of us grown men were so full we didn't even have an opportunity to consider dessert. I can't recommend El Mariachi enough : )

Chimichangas and tostada and chicken enchiladas

El mariachi more than that my expectations. It was the closest Mexican restaurant to the hotel we were staying at. That is why we initially chose here. Ecstatic that we ended up here. Not a lot of parking, not sure if there was more on the other side of the building. Huge outdoor dining area that would be useful in spring and summer. From the second I walked in, I loved the charm of the restaurant. They were way understaffed, the host who is also the bartender and waiter warned us ahead of time. He told us if we stayed we might have to wait for our food. That never happened. He was right on top of everything . He was visibly stressed, but did a fantastic job. I loved all the decor. Every table top and chair had a different theme. It depicted what life was like in Mexico in the past. More importantly, the food was delicious. They start out by bringing homemade chips and salsa. I ordered the skirt steak tacos. The steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly, very tender. I thought I was in a steak house while I was eating it. My fiancé got a combination of chimichangas, tostada, and chicken enchiladas. She gave me one of the chicken enchiladas and one of the chimichangas. Both were amazing. Both plates also came with rice, refried beans, and guacamole. The rice was good, guacamole was even better. I'm not a fan of refried beans so I didn't taste any. According to my fiancé, they were very good. For dessert, we had fried ice cream. It was made right in front of us. It was pretty much a hibachi show with ice cream and liquor involved. I had a video to attach, but apparently it's too big to upload. Overall a great experience. I highly recommend this to anybody visiting or living in the area. Authentic Mexican cuisine done right.

Stopped by for some grub after a day at the beach. As with the other reviews I will, agree that the food is expensive but what do you expect at a restaurant is prime real estate at the lake. Shout out to our waitress who was covering all aspects of our service from being a waitress to being a bartender. I ordered the paella and it expensive and delicious in the same bite. The chicken was slightly dry but the seafood was plentiful and at the end of the day it was what I was craving. I'm addition, as my girlfriend said the salsa is delicious in that every ingredient hits the pallet at the same time and you are like this delicious and you are like "yum". Food was delicious, as were the drinks. Don't judge the outside of as to what you will get inside. You will not be disappointed

I had the carne asada with "two rib eye steaks". Also got a house margarita, only 7.99 was a real bargain, even though it was premixed. It didn't have that sour mix aftertaste that most house margs do. I couldn't request a doneness, because "they are really thin". The 2 steaks were about 1/8 of an inch thick and almost tough enough to repair a shoe. The beans were mostly liquid, there was a very small portion of rice and a surprisingly generous amount of guacamole on the chopped salad greens, 3 warm tortillas. I wrapped the steaks in the tortillas with the guac and greens, and asked for some hot sauce. It was in a ramekin, nothing to write home about. At the end of the night, I got my bill, the first total showed 30.44, the credit card slip showed 32.69. I asked why the discrepancy, she said the first bill didn't reflect the hot sauce, "it's homemade". I have eaten in a LOT of Mexican restaurants, never got an upcharge for hot sauce. Won't be rushing back, had hoped for an upgrade from the previous restaurant there, wishful thinking I guess.

Served the traditional "complimentary" chips and salsa which were good. I ordered the large 22 oz draft Bud Light (not sure it actually holds that much) and a little shocked it was $11 very over priced in my opinion . Wife had the speciality Skinny Margarita for $15.50 she enjoyed it. I had a second beer (not knowing the cost lol). Wife had the Hibiscus Margarita. $15.50 which she also enjoyed. Dinner- Wife had the Grilled Chicken Fajita Quesadilla (generous portion). She liked it and had plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day. I had the Fajitas Vida-it was a lot of food. with 3 tiny flour tortillas (could easily double). Decent taste, don't think I would get it again though. Everything was mixed together in sauce, which I thought was a little odd, but nice presentation. They may want to consider closing off the open space from the outdoor sitting and the bar. It's a smaller restaurant and with the big opening it allows for bugs to fly in. Had to shew off a few flies several times and I noticed the customers next to us doing the same.. Definitely coming from outside, the restaurant appears very clean!

The only problem with the place, is that, they don't have a parking lot. Plenty of street parking, but the road is a busy one, so use caution. The inside is beautifully decorated and has a nice Hispanic vibe. They have a mug club you can be apart of. They have a good size bar, a few tables and a few booths. It's not huge inside, so when they are busy, there is little room to wait. We arrived with a party of 17, when it was supposed to be 10. They were very accommodating and easy to work with. They had our group rearrange once to get them a few more tables, which was perfectly fine. They deliver chips and homemade salsa , as soon as you sit down at the table. The server had short blondish hair, with glasses and a cute little pin on their apron. She was delightful and efficient, considering our party was so large. The food doesn't come right out, like most other Mexican restaurants. It took a bit of time. The food came out fresh, and delicious. We got a steak quesadilla and a chimichanga. The proteins they had on the menu, were so good. We tried steak, chicken, and beef items, and none were dried out, it wasn't all fatty, and it had flavor! You got your choice of black beans or refried beans and rice with most dishes. Someone in our party also got the churro dessert, that was so so dang good !!! There were several different checks and the server was so good about it, and didn't mess anything up! They were really awesome, and the bartender kept coming over to check on as well. There were other servers there as well, assisting where they could. They really seemed to be working more as a unit, then separately. All around, great food, great service, and great atmosphere!! Well done !!! We were there to celebrate our family's matriarch, whose birthday landed on Cinco De Mayo. She passed in February, and we were a large party of family there to celebrate her!!!

This unassuming restaurant does, however, punch above its weight when it comes to hospitality and reasonably-priced, enjoyable-enough Mexican-American food. They accommodated our enormous group of around 30 adults and children on short notice, and with grace. Food came out relatively quickly, though not surprisingly, given the size of our group, staggered in waves. Thin tortilla chips and a thin, almost tomato-sauce-like salsa were complimentary at the start of the meal. They weren't our cup of tea, but we appreciated this increasingly rare courtesy, and our subsequent side orders of guacamole were excellent. My Camarones al Mojo de Ajo ($21.95) were appropriately garlicky, the small, well-textured shrimp sautéed with plenty of onions and the tiny bits of garlic you typically get from a jar. Although the portion size wasn't quite as generous as those of my convives, the shrimp were imbued with flavor and overall enjoyable. The dish came with orange-tinged rice (a little hard and dry) and a salad of iceberg lettuce, chopped tomatoes, onions, and cilantro, with a bit more of that excellent guacamole tucked underneath. Some of our friends enjoyed enormous servings of chicken and steak fajitas. Others were less impressed by their burritos, which came drizzled with a Velveeta-like cheese sauce. Unfortunately, steak tacos came with flour tortillas -- not our preference -- but they were generously filled with flavorful (if slightly dry) steak. Cocktails were large and reportedly light on alcohol + sugary. Despite the rather dreary strip mall that El Tequila is tucked into, the inside is festive and cheerful, painted with colorful murals. A bar and large screen TVs line one side, making it an easy place to dine alone should you wish to do so. Would we eat here if the restaurant were in NYC? Probably not. But for a family- and group-friendly, casual restaurant in a NH town, population 7,000, we were more than pleased.
