Stopped in here 2 days in a row during Bike Week. It's like stepping into a time warp, and looks like nothing's been updated since the day it opened. It has its charm, but they could really use some fresh paint and some updating, and if they redid the booths, they could certainly fit in way more tables and you'd think make more money. The first day, my omelette was OK, though I have to say I prefer George's Diner next door. But the coffee was hot and the coffee cake muffin that was grilled was phenomenal! We came back the next day because of that muffin. Our second experience was not good at all, and the reason we did not go back again, despite being there for 13 days. Service was absolutely horrible! When we walked in, there were few tables seated. We ordered sunny side up eggs with potatoes (fruit for me) and a coffee cake muffin. It took 25 minutes to get it, and made us late for work. They do not turn over tables quickly here. It's a diner folks, and if you can't get eggs out quickly, how do you make money? It's back to George's for us. I have to say this really pissed us off. They tried to say it was a full restaurant, but when we came in, it was not. We ordered something very simple. My dining partner tips 20 bucks on breakfast, and had done so the day before, so though a different server, you think she'd be aware he's a very good tipper and it's a good idea to take care of him. Of 13 days there, we ate next-door at George's 11. The coffee cake muffin here is good, but when you're on a time crunch and have somewhere to be, choose somewhere else. read more

Great breakfast! First time trying, since our normal place was closed for a holiday. Called ahead and they let us get on the list, which was a huge help with the 30 minute wait. Not a huge amount of seating, but they were able to get us a 6 person table. Very clean, and welcoming waitresses. Service was prompt for drinks and ordering, but a long wait for food. Not an issue since we had nowhere to be, and could be an issue for those on a tight schedule. Could have also just been a one off that day. Dealbreaker for me on breakfast places is the coffee, and the coffee here was perfect. Not old/burned, or fancy/bitter, just good coffee. Food was absolutely on point. Fajita omelet, breakfast burritos were delicious, and the fried potatoes were great. I will be dining here again TLDR: Nice staff, good coffee, delicious food. read more

This is an excellent breakfast spot in Meredith. Surprisingly, it wasn't busy on Saturday, but it was quite crowded on Sunday. The ambiance was casual. We tried the corned beef hash and the Wave Run breakfast, both of which were really good and super reasonably priced. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and they accept credit cards. read more

Came in on a Friday morning on my birthday for pancakes. We were seated right away. It wasn't crowded. Our server was nice and the food came out quickly. My pancakes though weren't great. They're were large and hot. But they weren't that soft and fluffy pancake I was looking for. They were kind of tough and dense. My partner got the brisket Benedict. We chose this brunch spot on a weekend visit because they offered some outdoor seating. While waiting for our name to be called we noticed that the waitress serving the outside tables was wearing her mask incorrectly (under her nose) and then TOOK THE MASK OFF while taking orders not even two feet away from patrons. We immediately took our names off the waitlist and switched to takeout instead. It seemed like this place was pretty understaffed but they forgot about our order until the hostess came out and saw we were still hanging around. When we came in to grab the food and pay, the same waitress was not wearing her mask INSIDE. I get that NH is a state with so-so mask adherence, but I expect businesses to comply with the state rules at a minimum. And by the way, the food was lukewarm and mediocre at best. So if you want a one-stop shop for bad food and COVID, by all means, check it out. [one redeeming aspect of the visit was the bubbly hostess, so do say hi to her.] We went to 48 Main for coffee after and saw they have great breakfast food and outdoor seating - save your time and head straight there. read more

We enjoyed this place! While spending some time recently at Lake Winnipesaukee, we ventured over here for breakfast one morning. First of all, the catchy name is what first drew my attention, and then the good reviews sealed the deal. Being in the middle of the pandemic, they were good to practice social distancing and mask wearing rules. There are only a couple of picnic tables outside and this place is popular to be prepared to eat inside. However, I never felt weird or putting myself at risk. My family ordered a plethora of menu items from traditional breakfasts to unique specials. One of the things I loved was that they had a nice selection of healthy alternatives. Whole grain pancakes, turkey bacon, gluten free breads..as this satisfied those with dietary restrictions. Everything was delicious! We gobbled it up. Not to mention our clearly overstretched server was incredibly friendly and quick! I ended up buying one of the cute yellow coffee mugs to remember my time there. I like to head to the area each year and will make Sunshine and Pa's a regular spot. read more

We had a really nice lunch here today after kayaking on the lake. We just wanted something light and easy, and this place fit the bill. The food was reasonably priced and was very tasty. My Greek salad wrap with chicken tasted very fresh and was quite yummy. My husband liked his fajita wrap as well. French fries were good but wish they were crispier--this was a weak point. My son got French toast which was just fine, but his breakfast sausage was very good quality. Service was pleasant and professional as well. Overall, we were definitely happy. My husband and I always go here when we visit Meredith. The food has been decent, fairly consistent. We will no longer patronize this business bc of the rudeness of the person who greeted our three young adult children. They went in looking for something to eat and we're greeted rudely with "WE CLOSE IN FIFTEEN MINUTES". Ok I get it, the servers are running hard abs working hard and want to go home. But truly there is no reason to greet people like this. They obviously didn't stay and will find, most likely, much better food as there are many eating establishments in that area. So now, you've put a bad taste (pun intended) in the mouth of regular patrons who will not only no longer give you their business, but in this age of social media and post-pandemic competitiveness, will most likely deter others. Came here because it was one of the few restaurants that was close to where we were. I ordered the breakfast special with pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs and bacon. The pancakes was spongy and light. I liked it though. The bacon has definitely been sitting on the grill as it was not crispy at all. Such a shame that it was not cooked to order. You can definitely tell it's been sitting. Probably left over from the breakfast crowd. The sausage was good though. That was my favorite part of the dish. It tasted like it was made in house. Good flavor and not overly salty. One thing I have to mention is that the cost is pretty reasonable. The coffee was a little bitter to my liking. A quaint little dinner with great service. The dinner is your standard run of the mill diner. I ordered Pa's favorite on the menu and it was fairly inexpensive and a decent item to order. The entire menus is fairly priced and with fast service. Easily accessible restaurant with seating for the whole family! I would recommend this dinner for a quick bite to eat. I rate this three stars because this is a very standard restaurants nothing extremely special, your run-of-the-mill diner. However, still holds up a adequate standard. read more

Had a really bad experience. This place used to have good food & good service - but today I went with family for brunch and after waiting for over an hour our server says they forgot our order... they then retook our order and again forgot and took another 45min to get food out. The second time, we still had to ask where our food was, if it was being made, and saw other orders and takeout being made and served prior to us receiving food or even a coffee/water refill. Finally - after getting our food, the order was missing items and had incorrect items. The quality of food was also sub-par, tasted like the English muffin had been microwaved, the bacon was clearly coated in dirty grease, the butter was soaking the toast to the point where it was soggy, and the eggs tasted like they too were cooked in grease. They had also ran out of items that we had ordered... like avocado, and hash browns. Not a good experience, I honestly was very disappointed, and on top of all of this I did feel that when we were frustrated and hungry our server was a little defensive and still did not make having our food made a priority. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else, or stay home and cook a nice breakfast for yourself!! read more

We stopped here for breakfast while on vacation in town (always good to escape New Jersey). Sunshine's wait wasn't too long to get seated for a Sunday, however it took about 45 minutes after placing our order to get our food. That just may be our Jersey nature, but it seemed like awhile. We ordered the pancakes and eggs combinations and I got a side of corned beef hash. Food was ok, standard fare for breakfast items. Pancakes lacked much flavor but were fluffy. Corned beef hash was canned. My wife had blueberry pancakes and enjoyed them quite a bit, better than the plain. Food was a 2.5 or 3, but the fact it took 45 minutes to prepare eggs and a total of 4 pancakes results in 2 stars. Also, next door is George's which was fantastic with all homemade food items, including killer corned beef hash and solid coffee. Strongly recommend George's if you're coming to town for breakfast. Can't speak to lunch or dinner. read more
