We had an amazing time, the service was exceptional, the ambiance was exquisite and the food was delicious. Can't wait to come back.

We were staying at the Inn for the fourth time and of course had to do our annual dinner at the Inn Kitchen + Bar. Like always we were not disappointed. The food was amazing, the drinks were on point, and the staff were incredibly fun, friendly, and a pleasure to be around. As a group of friends we ordered a bunch of appetizers as well as entrees so we could all test and try different things. Everything we had was delicious. To start we tried the seared shrimp, grilled artichoke, and SLI wedge salad. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, the artichoke was perfectly soft, and the wedge salad was fresh with and amazing dressing. For dinner we all had the st. louis ribs, buttermilk fried chicken, seared scallops, and salmon. All were superbly cooked, flavorful, and impossible to c choose a favorite. For dessert we tried multiple iterations of ice cream sandwiches, root beer floats, and the key lime pie. Once again all were on point and delicious. My personal favorite is the candied ginger vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two molasses spice cookies! We will be back again next year not only to the restaurant but also to stay at the Inn itself!

Then step inside where you find a very comfortable living room and the most beautiful stone fireplace I have ever seen! Most of the rooms have beautiful scenic views of the lake. I have a question though, is there such a thing as a million thread count sheet or pillow case? Because I think this place has them, I have bad shoulders and this was the best sleep I had in years!! That's why I was able to get up early and watch the sunrise and enjoy an excellent breakfast on the porch prepared by the owner himself, thanks Al! Last but definitely not least Al's wife Pamela is just the nicest person, making everyone feel as relaxed as if you were in your own home, she is full of ideas for all your local needs from dining to local recreation. The inn was cozy and charming, and Monty and Rebecca were gracious and attentive hosts. They take such pride in their inn, and it shows. The inn itself is well-maintained and beautiful, the rooms are charming and cozy (and some with spectacular views of the lake!), and the amenities throughout were ample. The sheets were divine and so soft; it felt like sleeping on a cloud. The large living room downstairs was the perfect spot to relax by the stunning fireplace and play board games from their many options of games, puzzles, and magazines. There is a selection of coffee and tea in the dining room available any time, and every afternoon fresh, warm chocolate chip cookies are put out. They were delicious and we enjoyed quite a few! In the warmer months, there is a beautiful front porch overlooking the gazebo and waterfront area. The breakfast was fantastic and lovingly made. We were treated to a three-course breakfast in the dining room served by Monty with fresh juices and coffee/tea. First fruit, followed by a delicious pumpkin bread, followed by the main dish. At check-in, they asked about our dietary needs and preferences based on the upcoming menu and catered to our needs. It was excellent and we left breakfast stuffed! Monty was a truly kind and hospitable host and we enjoyed talking with him during our stay. He was even so kind to leave out a few things to go since we departed early before breakfast. Overall, I highly recommend staying at The Lake House at Ferry Point while in town or making a trip for a weekend of beautiful views and relaxation. Cozy inn, hospitable hosts, delicious breakfast, and a superb location right on the lake. We hope to return during warmer weather to enjoy the porch and kayaking. A truly special inn!

Well, that's because hospitality at this fabulous inn does not extend solely to guests, but also to visitors, even the kind who pop in unannounced. My mother-in-law spent many summers in Meredith as a child in the 1960's! Her great aunt owned the house at the time. She told us stories of running around the wrap-around porch and falling down the stairs and breaking a toe (). Darryl took time to welcome us and allow us a tour as well as time to relive her memories. The beautiful wrap around porch still exists, now with an incredible porch added to enjoy the incredible view. The inn is absolutely beautiful. Darryl then went so far as to offer us WONDERFUL pumpkin muffins made that morning and they were DELICIOUS! This was our first visit to Meredith-- we were in town for a wedding. But let me tell you, we plan to return and hope to stay at the beautiful Ballard House Inn and see Darrell again! Thank you, Darryl, for your kindness and hospitality!

We were on vacation in NH this weekend and this place was an absolute must go. I got the half stack pancakes with plain chocolate chip, whole wheat blueberry, and their special which was oatmeal granola. All were absolutely amazing. My mom got the buttermilk blueberry and gingerbread walnut- these two are our absolute favorite combos. We also got a side of their homemade wheat toast and home fries. If you go, you must get their home fries because they are arguably the best item on the menu, besides pancakes of course lol. My dad got a ham and cheese omelette, with a choice of 2 or 3 eggs (he got 3), which comes with home fries and toast. I also tried their iced lattes for the first time ever and I'm disappointed I never got it before. I got an iced latte with salted caramel flavor and whip cream which was amazing. Their menu is full of variety and they are so many substitutions and add ons you can make. Different combos of pancake batter and toppings, cheese and onions on home fries, different flavors of toast, etc. All the employees are so friendly too. Every time we've eaten here, the waiter/waitress is always so kind and friendly and attentive. Our waitress today, Lisa, was especially awesome. The food comes out in a decent amount of time too. Beware that they get VERY VERY busy once camping season starts, around Memorial Day weekend and continuing throughout the summer. You could be looking at a wait time of at least 2 hours on a weekend in the summer if you get there after 8 or 9am. They don't take calls for a waitlist, you have to be there to put your name on a list to wait. Since we went early May, we had no wait whatsoever. Many options but many with poor reviews. After a week of research was able to narrow the selection down to two places and the breakfast served here was the deciding factor. Booking as super easy on their web site. The Inn is located in a quiet area outside of the college town of Plymouth in Compton, NH a 5 minute drive to the arena and minutes from the highway made this the perfect location for our stay. Easy to find and ample parking made getting there easy. When we arrived we went to the entrance abutting the parking area. Travin answered the door, allowed us in from the cold and got our checking in under way, promptly checked in with in seconds of coming in. We were escorted to our room and each room we went through, Travin explained that we could make use of at anytime but to please be mindful of other guests sleeping. Up a narrow set of steps, being an old building from 1764, I would imagine they once were the servants staircase. We arrived to our room, key passed to us and we were on our own. Fast and efficient check in process. The room was fairly large for a queen bed and you can tell it is an older home but very well maintained. There as a small crack in the bathroom flooring, but very minor. We went out and met up with family and grabbed a pizza for our room. The room was well heated with no drafts which one would expect in such an old home. We slept very well, bed was comfortable. In the morning David greeted us and asked if we had a preference of where we wanted to eat! We were given a choice of the dining room or their lovely greenhouse porch. It was a beautiful day but a bit chilly. David was thoughtful enough to place a small space heater by our table to keep us warm, so wonderful! For breakfast we were not given a choice but recall Trevin asking if we liked eggs and bacon, absolutely! The eggs were baked with some cherry tomatoes halved and some light seasoning. He made this amazing bread stick. It was a croissant bread wrapped around a piece of bacon and baked off. Brushed with some Dijon and finished off with sesame seeds. YUM!! Not a crumb was left on our plates. Checking out was easy peasy, leave your key in an envelope on the dresser and your out! We really liked the town of Plymouth and will be back to explore some more. Definitely will stay here again. Thank you Trevin and David for your amazing hospitality.
