I absolutely love this place! My family and I have been patrons for about 10 years now and we always have a great experience there. We were on vacation in NH this weekend and this place was an absolute must go. I got the half stack pancakes with plain chocolate chip, whole wheat blueberry, and their special which was oatmeal granola. All were absolutely amazing. My mom got the buttermilk blueberry and gingerbread walnut- these two are our absolute favorite combos. We also got a side of their homemade wheat toast and home fries. If you go, you must get their home fries because they are arguably the best item on the menu, besides pancakes of course lol. My dad got a ham and cheese omelette, with a choice of 2 or 3 eggs (he got 3), which comes with home fries and toast. I also tried their iced lattes for the first time ever and I'm disappointed I never got it before. I got an iced latte with salted caramel flavor and whip cream which was amazing. Their menu is full of variety and they are so many substitutions and add ons you can make. Different combos of pancake batter and toppings, cheese and onions on home fries, different flavors of toast, etc. All the employees are so friendly too. Every time we've eaten here, the waiter/waitress is always so kind and friendly and attentive. Our waitress today, Lisa, was especially awesome. The food comes out in a decent amount of time too. Beware that they get VERY VERY busy once camping season starts, around Memorial Day weekend and continuing throughout the summer. You could be looking at a wait time of at least 2 hours on a weekend in the summer if you get there after 8 or 9am. They don't take calls for a waitlist, you have to be there to put your name on a list to wait. Since we went early May, we had no wait whatsoever. Adorable, delicious, reasonably priced. if you are in the area it is a must, just avoid the obvious peak times as the wait can be super long. While originally it may have worked to have the waitress make the pancake order for each table, now it seems asinine !! I'm happy I finally got to try Polly's Pancake Parlor after seeing reviews on social media. My family dined on a Monday morning, so we did not have to wait to be seated. My husband had Polly's Panwich, while I split a Full Stack Pancake Platter with my daughter - we had gingerbread walnut, whole wheat coconut, and plain chocolate chip. The pancakes were as good as I hoped they would be, especially the gingerbread! I was very happy to see the pancake mixes for sale...I snagged the gingerbread and oatmeal buttermilk. I have not been to this location in about four years. It's a very large space with plenty of parking. We went on a Monday, which isn't packed like it would be on a weekend. It is an enjoyable place however expect to pay $$$! I'm sure the overhead is incredible and costly. They do have some neat trinkets and take home items such as the maple spread which I did purchase. Absolutely love it. Very disappointed on the size of the pancakes. One requesting a "short stack" don't expect what you usually see and most restaurants. It's about half the size. The ham extremely dried out and toughest leather. Definitely a tourist destination and probably not going to return. There's better mom and pop places without the touristy effect. read more

It has been many years since I enjoyed the breakfast and atmosphere at this very popular restaurant. It is very inviting , rustic and homey . They now have a shopping area which has many touristy items .They also sell their pancake mixtures, their own maple syrup and baked goods . There is plenty of seating but it's a very popular restaurant and it fills up fast , so there is usually a wait. Be patient it's worth it ! Service is fantastic, everyone is so pleasant and polite. They make all their own flour here, original,buckwheat ,whole wheat and a few others . On the table is their own maple syrup , maple sugar and maple spread ! The pancakes are small ,you can order several different kinds with different fruits or nuts . Of course their menu offers a variety of breakfast choices and they serve lunch too! I had a cappuccino which was very well made , a variety of 3 different pancakes and bacon . Our server was great and once we ordered our food, it came out quickly. I got the short stack of pancakes, which were very crispy, making them my kind of pancakes. I think my favorite part of this place is that they let you pick from several different pancake batters, and you can mix which ones you get. I chose the plain, cornmeal, and oatmeal buttermilk, and added walnuts to them. They were all good because they were like. Walked right in with no wait and were seated immediately - something that's practically unheard of at this legendary spot. I hadn't been back to Polly's in about 20 years, and I was pleasantly surprised to discover they now serve alcohol! We kicked things off with Bloody Marys, which hit the spot. I also tried their chai tea - it was deliciously made but a bit sweet for my taste, especially when paired with pancakes. Maybe it would be perfect spiked, or better enjoyed on its own. For the main event, I went with the cornmeal pancakes loaded with blueberries, scrambled eggs (soft, just how I like them), and their homemade sausage patties. Everything was absolutely delicious! My husband ordered the buckwheat pancakes with blueberries, though in hindsight he thinks he would have enjoyed them more plain. Polly's is an institution! - that I discovered purely by accident about 3 years ago while me and my dog plopped into Sugar Hill on the hunt for lupines on our way to North Conway. We found the most brilliant field of them right behind Polly's. It was about 4pm so the restaurant was closed but after looking it up I put it on my list to visit in the future. The future is now. I went on a Saturday around 9am. Mistake right? The lines can be over an hour long. But I went as a single diner and when I approached the hostess she offered me a spot at the bar! Sensing my uncertainty (you know my feelings on spindly bar stools and my short legs going numb) she quickly reassured me, "The chairs have backs - everyone always asks." Say less. I bypassed the line which was at 30+ minutes and took my rightful place on the pancake throne. What makes Polly's special to me: -the maple spread! I still don't know why I left without a bottle. It's squeezable maple goo that elevates your bread and pancakes. -maple sugar! I still don't know why I left without a bottle. It's shakeable fairy dust that elevates your bread and pancakes. -your server cooks your pancakes. Low key love that. Perfect place to stop and get pancakes before visiting Mt. Washington! The service was excellent, and so great at accommodating our dietary restrictions! Polly was a recommendation that we wanted to visit but couldn't due to out of season visit back in March. So glad they were open during this fall season. Cash only location (machine probably wasn't working today) and staff were kind and a sign was shown stating there was no wait time. Ordered the special of banana pancake with the batter of oatmeal buttermilk. Simple, highly absorbent of the maple drizzle I added and soft~ batter was perfect and not heavy. Also ordered the thanksgiving sandwich which is usually my favorite and this didn't disappoint. It was sweet with the cranberry sauce and savory with the gravy and turkey filling. The potatoes were chip sized and thick. I had the maple coffee which isn't syrup, but the beans themselves are infused with maple(unsure of that process) and it was super tasty! You can smell and light taste the maple with the overwhelming sweetness of the syrup. I didn't add milk and maple sugar since I don't do straight black. For table condiments, there was maple syrup, maple spread (a thick sauce) and maple sugar. There was maple pepper original, maple pepper with garlic and maple pepper with habanero. We only had the garlic version at our table but I noticed there were different versions at other tables, to which I asked the waitress and collected them all for a taste test! Original was my favorite and habanero would taste great for chicken wings. There is a small gift shop at the waiting area, and I will grab myself some before leaving! We drove two hours to Polly's and they did not disappoint!!! They had a short wait (5-10 minutes) but they had a fun sign that told you the current wait time. Once we got seated our waitress came right over and took our order. One of the fun aspects of this restaurant is the waitress cooks your pancakes. We enjoyed being able to watch our breakfast being made. I really liked that they have a variety of different batters to choose from. I chose the cornmeal batter and it was amazing. My husband and I came here one day on our vacation. Every time I looked up where to eat in NH, this place would pop up. It was BUSY! We waited about 30 minutes, no big deal. You can tell a lot of locals are here. The restaurant itself was really nice. It was spacious, a lot of seating and had a nice gift shop. The service was great. It was super friendly and quick! My husband got the 'French Toast Combo' which was two slices of your choice of house made bread, two eggs any style, choice of bacon, sausage, ham or home fries and I got the 'Kathie's Combo' which was basically the same thing except with pancakes and 1 slice of house made toast which I got the 'Trot Trot Maple Toast' It was a piece of buttered toast with the maple sugar on it. All meals and items were DELICIOUS! They also put a bunch on condiments on our table, one of them being the maple spread which was out of this world. We walked in and were immediately greeted by posters explaining the history of the establishment which added a level of charm simply not seen in chain restaurants. The staff was friendly, seated us quickly, and were very attentive throughout the visit. We ordered the French toast, scrambled eggs, home fries, and a waffle (all of which were fantastic, filling, and quick to come out to the table). I also had a cup of maple steamed milk which was so good that I had to get a second cup to go. The restaurant is charming and relaxing with a view of the white mountains that is sure to start any day off right! It's a historic restaurant that has been continued through multiple generations. They have parkings available. It's a large establishment with many seatings and some baked goods and gift shop at the front. The establishment has lots of old historic artifacts from original restaurant and decorations. It's a popular place but we were lucky and were able to be seated right away. They are known for their pancake and maple flavored products. I got the coffee of the day which was maple brewed coffee. Hint of maple flavor was delightful and not overwhelming. For meal i got Kathie's favorite combo which came with eggs, toast, 3 pancakes, and sausage. I also got their homemade spinach and sausage quiche with side of home fries with onion and cheese sauce. The pancake they offer has variation of batter and topping you can choose from and there are some unique options available. I decided to try buckwheat, cornmeal, and cornmeal buttermilk with no topping so I can taste the difference. They also have maple syrup, maple paste and maple sugar which you can use to sweeten your pancakes and coffees. My personal favorite was buckwheat with maple syrup. Eggs, toast, sausage were good but nothing special. Their home fries were cut like potato chips and were delicious especially with their onion and cheese sauce and maple seasoning they have like maple pepper with garlic, rosemary, and habanero. I thought quiche was ok. Service was great and waitress was nice and attentive. Overall i liked the experience at the place but food itself I thought was ok. The different option they provide such as pancake batter and condiments makes the experience interesting here. I would recommend to at least try once. They have a gift shop inside with plenty of neat NH souvenirs for a good price. The pancakes are completely customizable which I love. I ordered a pancake sampler which came with 6 small pancakes for $13. They have 7 different batters to choose from with various add in options to the pancakes. I tried the oatmeal buttermilk, cornmeal, and the plain batters with different add ins. They were all so delicous I should've ordered more to go. If you want a great breakfast in this area, just go here. It is a large and noisy space with tons of people. That is the FUN of it. We waited 35 minutes for a table which was exactly what they told us when we came in. The servers are awesome! You never want for anything. HUGE MENU. I had an egg white veggie omelet with cheese and bacon and a side of corn beef hash with their amazing homefries with onions. I took half of it home. My wife is a pancake aficionado and she said that they were the best pancakes she ever had. Makes sense as they GRIND their flour on the premises! If you like real hot sauce, well they have it. They have a few different hot sauces. Not Tabasco or Sriracha either. You won't be disappointed. read more

Really great experience there was 22 of us for breakfast on the motorcycles and on four wheels and the seat was not altogether but pretty close together and the server we had Abva was a very nice young man really on top of everything. The food was exceptional. Everybody had something different my other half had blueberry pancakes. I had a bacon egg and cheese, local bacon on a housemate English muffin grilled with cheddar cheese. I also got their specialty home fries where they're actually sliced potatoes that were bread in deep fried onions. I was a little stunned about the extra couple of dollars for the onions, but that's OK. Ended up taking them home because they just weren't hot enough for me. Other people got like corn pancakes, and two weeks sunny side. Some people got blueberry pancakes. Everybody get coffee or juice, water tea. It's really good experience. We made the two-hour drive (four hours total) to try this legendary pancake house, and were not disappointed. They do not accept reservations, so don't wait until you are hungry to make the trip. When we arrived, there was a two-hour wait, and patrons passed the time strolling the grounds or sitting on the scattered benches to enjoy the autumn sun and the view of the White Mountains. There is a small gift shop at the building entrance, but it's very crowded with hopeful customers waiting for a table, so a little difficult to shop. They are well-staffed to handle the crush of people they draw, and despite the never-ending arrivals, they remained kind and friendly to everyone. The servers were all young and it seemed like they had a wonderful camaraderie that was easy to be swept up in! We sat at the counter and had a great time watching and interacting with them. I will never be a frequent customer ONLY because it's very hard to wait all that time for what you know will be delicious homemade pancakes. There is just no easy solution to it, and everyone should go at least once. They deserve their fame! read more

Found this restaurant part way up a mountain in the middle of nowhere! However, just because we hadn't heard of it doesn't mean others hadn't! This family business has been going for decades and for good reason! Lots of different pancakes to try as well as other breakfast offerings. We stopped by on a trip and found that we would be waiting about an hour... along with a lot of folks who were very enthused for the opportunity to wait an hour for these superb pancakes. They give you one of those "beepers" so at least you are not stuck in a line. We had a sampling of several pancakes, but the cornmeal pancakes with coconut were out of this world. Not that anything else was anywhere near bad or mediocre. It was all good. Their bacon was perfect. The coffee was too I suppose, we had Irish coffee and it certainly was good. Cool place with lots of old antiques, so the ambiance is worth the effort. We sat next to some civil war paraphernalia that was interesting in and of itself. People were nice. Our waitress was just great. Don't hesitate to wait. Maybe if you showed up at some precise time you could avoid the wait, but do know that it is worth the time. Oh, we pulled in an RV that was 26 feet plus about 12 more for the Jeep we were pulling. We should have parked off the road on the other side. But they did offer to let us stay in their main drive (Which was nice of them)... It's possible to drive around back and exit from the side. Hey It can be done. We heard about Polly's from some older locals in N. Conway. It was a one hour 20 minute ride to the north from our condo in Ashland but it was worth it. The scenery up rt. 93 was beautiful. Polly's wasn't very busy but I could see why it is a popular destination. Homemade items covered the menu like the covered bridges in the area. I had the Katie special. Two eggs, three small pancakes, wheat, oatmeal and cornbread, homefries, a side of baked beans and toast. Everything homemade! It was delicious and is recommended. A very novel experience is that each server cooks you pancakes on a grill that you are invited to watch. Pretty cool read more

This place is fantastic! Kind of Out-of-the-way but once you get here, it's worth it. The food is fantastic! When you come here there's ample parking and there's a little horse outside which kids can sit on for photos. It's pretty cute. When you walk in is a huge amount of space you could easily fit 150 people in there and you could even have events in that kind of space. We have lovely views of the surrounding areas as well. When you get seated and that's pretty much immediately, our waitress will come over with these cute maple table mats and waters. The waitresses you're also have to be the cooks, so they make really great recommendations when it comes to choosing your pancakes. Do listen to them and take what they recommend. We tried the corn beef hash which was outstanding the pancakes were really really good and I highly recommend the hot chocolate it was one of the best hot chocolate I've had! Service can be a little slow depending on number of people in the restaurant and the fact that the waitress was also the cooks. So she's technically making food for three or four tables at one time. There's also a little sale section in the front where you can buy memorabilia as well as great maple syrup that they make. We went high time (it seems) given they didn't accept call-aheads between Sep 28-Oct 10 (we happened to go on Sep 28). Makes complete sense but I'm guessing your experience will be even easier if you go a different time of year. The food was delicious and our server was beyond nice. Service was quick. I loved the Plain pancake more than anything honestly, the bacon was cooked perfectly and high quality, and the toast was scrumptious. Food was delicious. 5 star worthy! However both days we stopped by their wait was 2 hours long. They have no waiting area and their buzzers do not reach all of the parking lot. We decided to walk away the first time and we waited the 2nd.
