After a lovely walk in the woods, we stopped by for lunch. The menu has something for everyone. It was hard to make a choice cause everything looks delicious. Service is friendly and fast - the vibe inside is welcoming, displaying local artwork. We ordered the daily soup special and salad, pesto panini, a cinnamon roll, breakfast burrito, and two smoothies. I cannot wait to go back! Glad I gave Maia Papaya a try but honestly wasn't that impressed. Staff was kinda friendly maybe they needed a cup of Joe themselves. Cute & cozy atmosphere. On the morning I went they must have just opened things took longer then expected. Ordered a couple of coffees, pastries and a breakfast burrito to go. The pastries and coffees came out first but the burrito took a little time. The off timing bothered me, they should have made the coffee after the burrito was made. Anyway, the burrito was terrible it shouldn't be called a breakfast burrito; it should be called a black bean burrito because that's all I tasted. As for the pastries all I can say is eh. The looked better then tasted. I guess I was just expecting something better because of the reviews. The coffees besides being luke warm was okay. My husband and I were visiting in the area and decided to try Maia Papaya. We enjoyed it so much that we went back on our second day, that rarely happens because my husband likes to try as many local coffee places as he can when we vacation. The staff are friendly, the prices good, and the selection is fantastic, including the sugar free coffee syrup choices-they have the most options of any coffee place I've been to in the last year. I hadn't visited the Maia Papaya in a few years but still follow them on Facebook and have been blown away by their fancy coffees for the weekend so much so that when we were nearby (ish) in North Conway I kind of insisted we take a longer drive to visit. I was very disappointed with the service. I guess the fancy coffees are only on Fridays which is a bummer. Undaunted, I asked the woman who flavors they had and she was very dismissive. Recited about 15 in a few seconds and then said she could go on and on. Well, okay - I mean it's not up anywhere in the store and there's no way to know so why wouldn't you list them all for a customer? We ended up getting some sort of cookie batter flavoring for the cold brew (which was met with a bit of derision when I asked what they had for cool cold brews - again, it's the weekend and every Friday you post about your fancy cold brew so why is it a shock when a customer asks??). It was way too syrupy and not great. I asked for a malted chocolate latte and got a vanilla malted latte. Close enough, I guess. At least that was fantastic. Since we had gone out of our way we decided to try some bakery items. The strawberry croissant was super dry. I wouldn't order that again. The "cereal sundae" was pretty good. Lovely bananas mixed in with the yogurt and granola. I was also disappointed that none of the cool local art is available anymore. We bought a cool Star Wars themed painting a few years ago. Now they had overpriced prints that really weren't that unique available in a bin. I wonder what happened with that partnership as it was still ongoing as of my last visit a couple of years ago. For the price, quality and poor service I really can't see myself returning as it's a long way from home for me. If local, I'd likely go back more often as the malted vanilla latte was good and they have a lot of interesting flavors. read more

Being a vegetarian is hard in this country. Running a veg only restaurant is harder. Fortunately, this place has proved that wrong! In the midst of covid-19, seeing so many people ordering from this place is surprising and at the same time relieving. I say this because I do not want them to close down for any reason. They have some of the best breakfast items on the menu, vegetarian and vegan. I tried their breakfast burrito and hands down one of the best I have eaten. So much flavor! Their drinks have so much variety and taste sooooo good. All in all such a cute restaurant in a little town with a cute little patio area to sit out and eat during these crazy times. I was driving back from Mount Washington and stopped for a "quick" coffee at this vegetarian restaurant. I waited over 30 minutes for 2 hot chocolates and a Elvis - bread with Nutella PB and sliced bananas. I asked after the long wait and the chef made it clear she was the only one in the kitchen and that of course I needed to wait because she's very busy. I totally understand that, but rather than making me feel bad for asking after a decent wait time perhaps just tell me what the wait time is. Then the cashier got into a conflict with a customer. She apparently had a nut allergy and was waiting for the machine to be cleaned to make her drink. She saw over 15 people get their drinks and her friend had already finished her drink. The cashier got very upset and told her that the wait time was expected and she should've ordered something else instead of complaining. She proceeded to tell her about their lack of employees. This is not the customers problem and she was very patient before this. The food is good here, but it's not good enough to justify the attitude and time spent. read more

Ordered a green torpedo with the pesto option. It was excellent! I am not vegetarian or vegan but it was fantastic! I absolutely loved this little cafe. My boyfriend and I were visiting Bethlehem for an overnight trip and wandered into here for a late breakfast. The staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the Bread Pudding French Toast with a Mexican Mocha, and my boyfriend ordered an egg on an Asiago cheese bagel. We were in heaven! I also loved that they featured local art on the walls. It has a very earthy and granola vibe which is right up my alley.
