Stopped in here after skiing for a bite and it was such a nice experience! We were greeted immediately by the friendly staff. They quickly brought over coffee which hit the spot. I had the patty melt and subbed onion rings for the chips and it was so many onion rings! They were delicious and I really can't wait to try other items from their menu. Service was quick and smiling. We stopped here on our way out from town. It was small but well organized, it was busy, but well-staffed. So, we sat down, our order was taken quickly. Food came out in a reasonable time. The bathroom was clean. They had a decent sized parking lot and even gave you a buzzer if there was a line. But it went quick. The bowl of food was fantastic, so much food! Such great flavor combos. Just what I needed for breakfast - eggs, beans, just a lot of great nutrition. And I did a muffin as well - it was out of this world. Just so good. I would definitely come back on a quieter day. We had gone on a Saturday morning - I would try a different morning. What a great breakfast place in beautiful Glen, NH. It may be on the smaller side but the breakfast dishes are huge! The staff are right on point and cater to your every need. Went for breakfast at The Sunrise Shack up in Glen, NH and I can tell you this random stop off White Mountain Highway is one that if you blink you'd miss! We walked in and were told we could pick our seats! Delightful!! Fills up fast but was empty when we arrived early morning!! The menu is under the plastic table protection and that's GENIUS!! Love this ease for all and cleanliness option! The hardest part was choosing one thing, as always that's my issue!! I love the bowls, they are the perfect amount of food (I rarely if ever finish a plate, my son teases me about my eyes bigger than my stomach but no apologies!) there's not much left over when I'm done!! On my plate is the carnie with rye toast. Opposite me was the Biscuits and gravy which was delightfully maple-fied. We had lunch plans already but the options for morning or afternoon are deliciously satisfying!! Great clean space, friendly service and just really fresh wonderful food. Service was INSANELY FAST! This place was so good!! Oh my gosh! My parents tried to gaslight me when we arrived, saying "I think we've eaten here before and we did not like it!" But oh-ho! I never forget a meal and this place was as unfamiliar to me as the touch of one's true love. You arrive, you park in their lot, you check in at a window (of course! So New Hampshire core) and get a buzzer - because this place is popping! After ten minutes we were buzzed and seated. So many of their savory breakfast items sounded so good, it was tough to decide. I went with the Takin' It to the Street breakfast sandwich. It was so good!! They also offer these delicious-sounding breakfast bowls, and some of my family ordered these and said they were great. We contemplated coming back another day on our trip but we never got around to it unfortunately. I will be back on my next visit to the White Mountains however. It's a bit crowded, they have sound-proofing on the ceiling to keep the noise level down, but honestly it all creates a cozy hole-in-the-wall delicious breakfast experience that is worth your time. At the conclusion of our meal, my parents retracted their statement and conceded that they probably arrived at the restaurant and left after seeing the wait - the food was so delicious that they realized that could not have been the problem! read more

We loved this place! We came on a rainy Wednesday morning and waited maybe 10 minutes for a table. Everyone waiting does so in their car, which creates a very calm atmosphere inside. Not too jammed full and very cozy! Coffee was hot and good. The service was speedy and friendly! We had the Takin' It to the Street (breakfast sandwich with eggs, bacon, cheese, tomato jam, and aioli), the Crawford omelette (cheese, onion, bell pepper, ham), and a short stack. It was all served hot and the bread on the sandwich was amazing (from a local bakery). Syrup for the short stack was clearly locally sourced and so yummy. This definitely took best breakfast on our road trip through Vermont and New Hampshire! read more

I can't remember what my mom or husband ordered, but I got the Shack Toast - sweet cannoli cream stuffed French toast with raspberry sauce. Hands down, one of the best French toast I've ever had! Really nice breakfast here and excellent 10/10 service. We were originally bummed that we may not get a table, since there were SO many cars in the lot and plenty of people waiting outside as well as in their cars. Thankfully, the wait was very short and maybe just 10-15 minutes or so. We were helped immediately and the 10 min wait allowed us to pick out our food so we ordered when we sat down. We were pleasantly delighted to see they offer milk alternatives such as oat milk. The food came out in maybe only 5-10 minutes more, hot and fresh and exactly as we ordered it. The eggs were full of flavor and nothing seemed greasy or overcooked. Serving size is normal; no skimping on portions but also not anything massive either. The ambiance of The Sunrise Shack is clean, tidy, and minimal yet has an inviting, warm, cabin-like atmosphere. The menu is underneath a plate of glass/plexi on the table which makes things seem easy. The menu feels expansive with a plethora of choices, yet simple and minimal, if that makes sense. While we were eating we watched the 2 servers quickly help other patrons. All the other tables were getting their orders taken quickly and then getting food extremely promptly. We were helped very quickly and as soon as we finished we were offered the check. They really know how to run a breakfast here, and do it quite well. Do not be afraid of a wait here because things move quickly. The shack toast is a must, not too sweet but full of flavor. The huevos rancheros bowl was served in this metal bowl which was a bit hard to eat out of. The potatoes at the bottom of the bowl could have used another few minutes on the grill for some extra crisp, but the overall favor and punch the jalapeños packed was great. I brought my family to this restaurant while on vacation in North Conway. I was first impressed by the service, we were immediately seated and very soon after had drinks. The decor provides that small town feel and I can tell that the employees enjoyed working there. The food was also very good. I certainly recommend this place if you are in the area. read more

Although the food looked good in the reviews we unfortunately did not have the chance to try it. We showed up with a party of 7 including 2 kids. It was 11:30 on a Tuesday and the place was basically empty. First off having a smoking area right next to the front door was not good, walking through second hand smoke just to get in was not welcoming. We said 7 people and their response was we can seat you at different tables. Asked if we could put the tables together they refused. No apparent reason why they couldn't, they just wouldn't. They offered to "let" the kids sit at a high top all by themselves separated from their parents. The kids were visibly not comfortable with that option and they still would not accommodate us. So we left and went down the road to a much more welcoming restaurant. read more

we arrived in the pouring rain and they took a credit card, gave us a beeper and told us to wait in the car which was a pouring rain away and a flooded parking lot. I guess this is the first time it's ever rained in this part of the country. They don't take reservations. They don't have any area outside. It's dry, and they don't have any shelter except for one small in an inch of water. Once we were finally seated and ordered they promptly service, coffee, and water and the waitress was very accommodating. One of our group wanted to make a small change, so I walked towards the kitchen to request the waitress change the order slightly. She was accommodating, but the people in the kitchen were threatened, apparently they were afraid of some accident that might because I stuck my head through the arch, there was no door. Once we got past that my food was interesting colorful but unfortunately, the contents of the egg we put into the omelette without any heating and I really prefer my omelettes hot. The omelette was pretty, the potatoes were cold, the toast was cool, and in general it was OK but not exceptional. I don't understand with all the five star reviews. I happen to have stumbled in on a two star day. read more

Amazing little gem! Came here when I was way younger when it was called Stanley's (they still have the Stanley's sign inside!) Came here for 2 breakfasts during a quick getaway this spring. It wasn't crowded because it's offseason, so we sat down immediately. Staff was friendly and greeted us on arrival. First day I ordered the Fred, bagel with smoked salmon, herbed cream cheese and capers with a side of home fries. It was amazing! My husband ordered the "Jackpot, yo" (loaded omelet). It was also good, and so much food! Next day we went light. I got a bagel with herbed cream cheese and a side of corned beef hash. Husband got North of the Border (french) toast with home made cinnamon raisin toast and sausage. It was so delicious! read more

It's 7:15 in the morning, and I am rolling through the White Mountains of New Hampshire, on my way to a Gathering of Love and Light, and I see this place along the side of the road and there's already ten or twelve cars parked outside. The joint had just opened, so I knew it had be good! After mulling over the extensive menu and slugging back half a cup of coffee, I finally settled on the Pinkham, an omelette with fresh tomato and spinach and herb cheese inside! It was perfect-- the omelette was perfectly cooked, the folded type, not a speck of brown, and fluffy as could be! The fillings followed suit. The spinach was fresh and crispy, the tomatoes bright, and the herbed cheese flavorful and delicious! It all went perfectly with the cornmeal and molasses bread, toast and chunky home fries! The wait staff was attentive, and the place was definitely bustling and a warm but misty Saturday morning! If you're in Glen, New Hampshire, for whatever reason, I would recommend stopping by for a bite to eat. I'm pretty sure you won't be sorry you did! Waitress Rene was great but the host was very passive aggressive and not warm so the vibe was off at the beginning . She seemed annoyed we had a baby with us. Our baby was quiet and a good girl the whole time. Husband liked his breakfast bowl at least. My home fries tasted like undercooked potato's with absolutely no seasoning and they were cold. We had 1 cheeseburger and a breakfast bowl, along with a cup of coffee and an iced tea. The bill, counting tax and tip, was over $70. The one cup of coffee and one ice tea alone, was over $20. That's unacceptable even in NH prices. I'd go elsewhere if I was you. read more
