We were so happy to see the Blueberry Muffin reopened AND they were open on Thanksgiving morning! The menu had shrunk down from what it was with the previous owners but what they are offering they do well. I'm very happy to see they kept the blueberry muffin staple and it did not disappoint. Overall it was a simple but delicious breakfast. The only disappointment I had was my hot cocoa was just packet mix cocoa. I would also like to note that while they are recently reopened they do need to work on their customer service. After paying my husband had to try and find someone as the waiter disappeared and forgot to give our card back. It was peculiar to me that he would do that as we were the only customers there and he just left us alone there. Overall the food is good and the prices are decent, we will be back! read more

We went last weekend. Server was very kind and attentive. Food was good and reasonably priced. Restaurant was also very clean .

I was surprised at the prices of this humble looking eatery. There is one host that is in charge of directing guests to their tables, one cashier manning the register and souvenirs display, and 3-4 servers running around taking orders, serving coffee, and bringing out orders. It's a busy Sunday morning after church time and the place is hopping! Bar area is seat yourself style if there's any space left. The ladies toilets is clean though the automatic paper towel dispenser is currently out of order. Once we were seated, our server gladly provided us iced cold water and took our orders quickly. The orders came out pretty timely though the only thing on my plate which was still hot were the grits. Cold bacon, cold over medium eggs, and cold buttered white toast. My hubby's mega bacon omelette was hot and he complained there was too much bacon in there. His English muffin was hot too, though much too hot in a burnt to a crisp way. The baked beans tasted like regular baked beans. They bring the check to your table and tell you to pay up front when ready. My wife and I came for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We were seated promptly, and our waitress Vicky immediately took our drink order. The one thing that struck us right away was that it smelled like blueberries. A nice touch. I liked the fact that almost everything inside was some variation of blue. The blue & white stripe wallpaper is spot on. My wife ordered a single blueberry pancake while I ordered two chocolate chip pancakes. We were warned that they were big, and they lived up to expectations. The pancakes are dinner plate sized. What can I say about the pancakes other than they were perfectly cooked. They're not overly fluffy and don't require a huge amount of syrup to prevent them from becoming dry. We both ordered bacon, and it was cooked well also. Not overly greasy and not too crunchy. We both ordered juice. The bill came to $20, which was even less than we spent somewhere else. However, I do think that the food quality and service experience was a notch better here. We will definitely come back. I don't understand the negative reviews posted here. The dining area is well maintained, and the menu is diverse enough to satisfy the most finicky eaters. Updating and revising a menu just for the sake of doing it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Clean restaurant, with fast and friendly service. They could have come around a bit more to fill the coffee, but the food was great! Even my picky eater LOVED their pancakes and they gave her a good amount of powdered sugar to sprinkle on the enormous pancake she got from the kids menu (I find a lot of places are stingy with the powdered sugar). Every plate of food on the table came out cold. Food was easily in the bottom half of breakfasts I've had nearby. The pancakes were big, and that's about it. Server was slow, inattentive, and rude. She said she was "swamped" but the restaurant was half empty...and there were only 3 tables in our section. I was overcharged for an already expensive meal. When I asked them to fix the mistake, even the manager got rude with me (admittedly after fixing it). I'd normally let good food or good service provide a recovery, but when you have neither, there's no excuse. There's many better places just down the street. read more

Six of us ate at Blueberry Muffin Restaurant yesterday morning. The food was cooked properly, it was tasty, and very filling. I got an egg sandwich - and had not realized that potatoes came with it - so that was a pleasant surprise. We ordered muffins - how could we not being in a place that was called "Blueberry Muffin". The muffin of the day was raspberry walnut. They only had a couple of those left - which is a negative that they didn't have enough of their daily special. I had blueberry. The muffins were good - but not the best muffins I'd ever had. They were big - but I think $2.79 for one muffin is a bit much even if it is big. The "medium" orange juice was tiny - this was another negative - I wonder what the "small" size looked like. The staff was efficient and professional. Not overly friendly; but I'm starting to wonder if this is a New England thing - people being reserved. I'm from Orlando and the wait staff (and often the managers) joke with us - sometimes even sit with us and discuss our lives and theirs. I guess we've gotten used to that and we need to realize that things may be different in different areas of the country. The only thing decent to eat is the blueberry muffin. Staff is a split of rude/ polite. Restaurant decor is old and beat up. The chairs are from the 80's! The woman's room is just disgusting. We had a great meal here this morning! It was a group of eight of us and we were attended to right away. We ordered breakfast and lunch, from cinnamon rolls, red flannel hash (Which has beets in it and worked as a solid combo) and of course the toasted blueberry muffin! We have been coming to the Blueberry Muffin restaurant for years and believe me when I say that I am surprised that I am giving it a 2 Star Rating. We have always had such a great experience here and while the service was great, the food was not. I wanted a small breakfast, so I simply ordered a bagel and cream cheese from their "healthy options" menu. I was surprised to see that a cup of fresh fruit was not even offered- so I got the next best option which was half a grapefruit. Blueberry pancakes were also served to the table but the batter was incredibly dense and it seemed like they were not cooked enough. They are also MASSIVE, which is usually not a bad thing but when they are hard to eat- they are not as appealing. The leftovers were put in the car and we actually left them in there, hoping the heat throughout the day would help dry them out a bit and cook them more. Needless to say, homemade pancakes are far better, especially for the price charged for them. Their home fries are good though and if you want a simple breakfast, their special of two eggs, toast etc is decent for the price. Their famous Blueberry muffins are also large and those are thankfully, still tasty. As for the decor, their website is a tad misleading as it makes it seem like they are freshly renovated and should be in top quality but where we were sitting, the slant in the floor was noticeable- our table was on an incline. What is neat is that along the walls, art from local artists is placed and you are able to purchase them. Quite a few pieces had been sold since in our dining area, the walls were empty. Overall, while the service is always great, it seems like the restaurant has been going downhill over the past few years and I don't think we would visit it again, which is quite sad since it had been one of our favorite places to go for so many years. read more

The waitress apologized said they were behind in kitchen. After people around us getting there breakfast and waiting another 1/2 hr we asked for the waitress She came over and said "what do you want to do ? Call it a day? " I said " what's going on?" Word to the wise for any up-and-coming restaurateurs in the audience: If you're going to name your establishment after a food item, you better make sure that the food item you name your restaurant after is, if not the best example of it within 100 miles, at least pretty damn good. The Blueberry Muffin's breakfasts are no-frills, cheap, and filling. They're great preparation for a day on the slopes (my girlfriend's preferred New Hampshire adventure) or a day at the outlet mall (mine). Their coffee is decent, their juice is cold (if not squeezed-daily fresh) their decor...decorative. But their muffins are perplexingly tasteless. They're not BAD, don't get me wrong; they just don't taste like anything, and while my eyes tell me that there are large, juicy-looking blueberries in them, my tongue accuses my brain of trying to play some kind of cruel hoax on it by making my hands shovel moist cardboard with blue dots painted on it into my mouth. This, also, would be fine, really it would - I can accept a muffin as oddly colorful 3-D toast, especially at 6:30 in the morning in the middle of winter in New Hampshire, except...the place is called The Blueberry Muffin. Somebody, somewhere, is proud of the restaurant's muffins, proud enough to build a business around them, and they are completely, utterly forgettable. We go a couple times a year. I have yet to be wowed by the Muffin's muffins. It's a restaurant built on a fundamental error in judgment, and all the overstuffed omelets in the world can't fix the fact that, consciously or not, when I walk into a place named after a muffin, a contract is initiated. I've come here on a couple of different occasions, only because I typically will stay at the hotel next door while visiting North Conway. The first time I ate here I had no complaints. The second time, I ordered french toast that came out with a hair on it and a "medium" size orange juice for like $3 that was literally only lightly larger than a shot glass. I also ordered a chocolate chip muffin. Turns out, that doesn't exist here. Their chocolate chip muffins have some sort of berry in them. I can't remember which. First, the good parts. The food is quite inexpensive and the portions are large. The chocolate chip pancakes my boyfriend ordered were literally the size of a dinner plate and loaded with chocolate chips. I got eggs with ham, home fries and a blueberry muffin. Everything was pretty standard but the home fries were definitely the star of that meal. The reviews are correct on the blueberry muffin being bland though. Kind of disappointing because it looks so much better than it tastes. Now, for the not so good parts. We were over charged by $12. $12.00 is a HUGE mistake. Now, I've worked in the service industry for about 6 years now so I'm usually very forgiving of silly little mistakes. It initially started because I noticed we were charged for two coffees and not the one that we did receive. Not a big deal but then I noticed that, even though it's a line item on the menu, I was charged separately for the eggs and ham. Then, the biggest mistake, was being charged separately for the pancakes my boyfriend got and the bacon he ordered. That was nearly a $7 difference in and of itself right there. The worst part though was that it didn't seem to really affect the waitress at all. Other than apologizing for putting the extra coffee on she didn't really seem affected. My husband and I were visiting the area and were given high recommendations to try out this breakfast place. First and foremost, the dining room was super outdated, cold and the staff was miserable. I overheard our waiter complaining to a co-worker that someone was upset about the temperature of the restaurant so they wanted to move their seat away from the door. It was very cold in there. We only wanted a quick bite so I went with a grilled blueberry muffin and my husband got the cinnamon roll and we shared a side of Home fries. The Home fries were horrible and the muffin was good but I've had much better. My husband did enjoy his breakfast. Without a doubt, I can say that the raspberry peach muffin I got with my breakfast (instead of toast- what a cool option) was the best muffin I have ever had. It was so delicious! My boyfriend had the traditional blueberry muffin with his breakfast, and that was equally as good. We've been vacationing in North Conway for years, and unbelievably, last month was the first time we've been able to try the Blueberry Muffin! The line has always been out the door and that always dissuades us from trying a place, particularly if it's just a breakfast place. I was not disappointed, and I'm really hoping to be able to go there the next time I'm in town. Pricing was great compared to a lot of the breakfast places in the North Conway area. I don't know if prices go up once tourist season is in full swing, but for April they were great compared to other menus we saw. The food was good- just your normal breakfast fare, save for the delicious muffins. I love that you can substitute a muffin for toast at no extra cost! I am one who understands when places become crazy busy but this was terrible. Out waitress seemed nice and sincere but only to the bigger tables. My boyfriend ordered beans. They never came out. She was going to get them never did. Gave us the check saw is waiting for to take it and then after some time told us we could check out up front. Def not coming back. The food was not worth it. Got a "Belgian waffle" is was just a flat waffle with cold frozen blueberry. There are so many other great breakfast places around the area. Do not waste your time or money. I'm surprised there are so many negative reviews on this place. First of all it's a great place to go if you're with a large group. The restaurant is much bigger than it seems so you have a good chance of finding tables without having to wait. The waitress was really friendly and each of our 12 orders came out exactly right. The omelettes were tasty and the muffins were very dense and delicious. It wasn't the most amazing breakfast I've ever had, but the price was reasonable and we were all completely full for the long ride home - what else do you need? read more

We went here for breakfast this morning after our usual places were packed. The Good: Large location and there was no wait for a table. Food came fairly quickly and was the standard breakfast fare (eggs, hash, toast, pancake, etc.) . The blueberry muffin was fantastic grilled! The less than good: The prices are higher than the quality of the food. The "Red Flannel Hash" was canned hash with a splash of beet juice. The blueberry muffin has been an icon in the North Conway area for several decades the only problem with being an icon is the test of time blueberry used to be the go-to breakfast joint in North Conway for many many years however it's time for the place to get a refresh a Sirius refresh as the interior hasn't changed much over the years and the last real renovation was done in the late 90s the food on the other hand Has been very consistent but at the same time hasn't changed that much over all in a long time the blueberry has the ability to change with the times but just hasn't kept up all that well I think it's time for the blueberry to reinvent itself with a total remodel looking towards the future and advanced food options and choices to match the new millennial generation I'm looking forward to seeing what the blueberry can bring in the near future as far as remodeling both interior and exterior new food choices and options that will highlight this restaurant as the icon it has always been read more

I remember coming here as a little girl, so as my boyfriend and I drove by with empty stomachs we quickly made a u-turn and pulled in for breakfast. Yet, this is not the place I remember loving as a little girl. The quality of food and service has gone down hill. As we walked in, the smell of chlorine filled the air-- making us question if there was an indoor pool outback. It took our server quite awhile to get to our table and greet us; which was annoying since there were only two other tables in the restaurant that I could see. I ordered an omelette with broccoli, peppers and cheddar with home fries and a blueberry muffin. I received an egg casing filled with broccoli and peppers no cheese. It was flavorless, and had I not been starving I wouldn't have eaten it. The waitress checked back with us after a significant time had passed. At that point there was no reason to comment on the missing cheese in my omelette or our empty coffee cups. The one redeeming quality about this restaurant was its delicious blueberry muffin.
