We came midweek in March to take advantage of the mid week free waterpark admission. We have a toddler who loves the water, and the baby pool area was perfect for him. We loved the water slides, cleanliness, and friendliness of the lifeguards and staff at the waterpark. It was so quiet mid week, we were sometimes the only ones in the baby area. The hotel is clean and affordable for our family; we wanted a space for our baby to sleep while we stayed up, so the Alcove Room was amazing for this purpose! The view from our room is beautiful, and the hotel is quiet. We loved that if we didn't want to go outside into the cold, we didn't have to. Breakfast, coffee, pizza, dinner, and a bar were all a walk away from our room. Housekeeping is great. The hotel has a texting service so if your room needs attention or if you need toiletries/towels, you can text the front desk. I would definitely return midweek for the free water park admission! Back for another trip to a Storyland! Our first Mountain View room located on the first floor was updated but had an odd 'wet dog' smell. The staff quickly remedied the situation and we went to a new room on the second floor. Seems all the rooms have a terrace which was nice and our view was beautiful! The second room was not as updated but was clean and smelled fine. There was no loud sound issue which was nice. Occasionally heard kids running but nothing to crazy or late at night. One thing that I didn't like was the wall air conditioning units. Like the last time we were there, it turns off in the middle of the night, ugh! The sheets were kinda scratchy as well. Standard amenities: hair dryer (works well!), iron and ironing board, safe, in room Starbucks coffee, shampoo, conditioner, soaps, lotions, cable, alarm radio/clock What I like about this hotel is the attached water park and the fun activities they have for the kids. Nightly marshmallow toasting (not a smore! Marshmallow only) and fun things like movie night, pool parties, arcade, and kite making activities. In the heart of North Conway, NH, the Red Jacket is the perfect family destination year round. In addition to the area attractions, the resort sports its own indoor water park that is on par with some of the other water parks in New England. The on-site restaurant is very good and the breakfast buffet had my kids talking about it for a while afterward.. it's that good. The rooms and internal decor are the only things that keeps my rating at a 4 vs 5. The rooms feel old, hallway carpeting is a bit worn, color and lighting outdated. I recommend this place for any family looking for a weekend getaway! read more

Beautiful resort! We stayed at the Red Jacket for an anniversary getaway. The weekend was warmer than usual for late September. My wife and I loved how close a lot of attractions are located to the resort, including restaurants, shopping and mini golf. There were a few weddings happening that weekend, but they did not disturb the other guests. That's definitely a plus for a resort in such a popular area. Everyone was very nice who works at the Red Jacket. We loved the late night entertainment near the fireplace in one of the areas that had a kid friendly music night. Fabulous time had by all as always! This was our 5th visit as a family. Our now 13 & 8 year olds, while moody, fighting a bit and brooding, were smiles abound. Even insisting on plushie Keekos before departing! The room updates are great. The coffee station at Champney's a life saver for those of us who are just coffee and muffin people. My only suggestion for improvements would be to either insulate the ceilings/floors with some soundproofing or try and put younger children on the bottom floors. I empathize with parents of littles, I've been there but I will be requesting the third floor on future visits. read more

We recently booked a room to take my stepson to the water park for his birthday. With COVID we figured that we had to do something since he couldn't have a party with his friends. Check in was easy and they were able to accommodate us checking in hours earlier than check-in time, which was great. Our room was very large, but quite dated. The bed desperately needed to be replaced, and the pillows were like sleeping with pancakes under your head! The water park was nice, and after been cooped up in the house for a year - it felt great to have a bathing suit on and have a sense of normalcy! The water park was definitely geared more towards younger kids than my stepson. But, would be a great, manageable spot for kids 7 and under, my stepson is 11 and was bored within 2 hours. I wrote an in-depth review of some ways the hotel could update itself. The pool room has ONE clock. One regular hands are sticks dinky clock. This room is large enough for 12 of those dinky clocks! Or two big nice digital boards with a clock! Maybe you put up a TV! You let people send you ads for their businesses in the area! You get money for this and intern make your water park better. In between writing this and showing up for our last morning at the hotel, there has surprisingly been a clock placed in the jacuzzi area! WOAH! It's slightly behind a ficus tree but it's there. Is it COVID, that your people behind the counter can't bring my food to where I am sitting in a bathing suit watching my kids???? When we first got here, there were 6 people behind the counter! She almost made me walk to the table with TWO BAGS! One that had to stay SIDEWAYS! And a tray for drinks! WHY a tray you ask? Because your menu says "BOTTLE" soda! Your lady gave me fountain small sodas! So ya! All that! Someone from behind this chick, said YOU CAN HELP HER TO THE TABLE! Ya think? so she giggled and laughed and eventually followed me to the table where she slapped my drinks down and went in the side door less then 10 feet from my table! The 4 tables you force people to sit at to eat! But don't ever say, hey If you aren't eating can you please move so people who do want to eat CAN? So three of the four tables have stuff all over them, but no one sitting here. We are a family of 7, and currently have 5 of us here. We used ONE lay down chair for our stuff, as we rarely just sat down and instead enjoyed the slides and the pools. There are 4 slides here. Two are for couples, and two are singles. If your child is under 44", they will have to do the couples slides with you. My kids are all good swimmers, but under 44" and you have to wear a life vest. How about a sign that says Jacuzziing here? How about a life guard that isn't sitting? Ya, we saw the girl going from spot to spot IN A CHAIR! How ridiculous is that? Get on the slide? Sorry, I'm sitting in this chair! Can't help you. DROWNING after coming off the slide? Sorry! Can't help you! I'm sitting in this chair. You hit your head on the slide? SORRY! Can't help you! Sitting in this chair! Like how ridiculous? Parents WANT to feel safe. If our kids go 1,000 times down the slide! Your person touches my kids slide 1,000 times!!!! You don't sit in a chair. Or talk on your ear pierce. Who taught your people going down together was a good thing? HOW? How can the guy down below watch two boats collide with a wall and watch the kids to his left as well? HOW? It's not possible. Racing down the slides shouldn't be a thing! That's your liability. Ya, I ruined the fun for others so a hotel could be SAFE! Our rooms are beautiful. Balcony is gorgeous. There is beautiful soap and shampoos in the room. The room has a perfect mini fridge and a coffee pot if that's your thing. For us we don't use those things, but I know there are parents that do. I also know there are parents who have 100 cords and always need to plug stuff in! Updating your furniture so cords attached to your furniture to make it easier to plug stuff in. ‍ Or an electrician to add a couple sockets. There was not enough charging abilities in our room. Your parking is weird... so weird. I have to park on the complete opposite side of the building and then walk back across or down random hallways to get back to my room? It would have been nice to have someone show us where to park for being near our room. Food: Food was 8.5 out of 10. Chicken was delicious, pretzels were amazing, nachos were the bomb! One critique, you could layer those nachos a little better and that could be your thing! Add a little saltier chips and they would be amazing. Second night lady told me "how can I help You?" Then when I started to order SCREAMED AT me to wait! Like okay. So I stopped and she explained she just got there at 4:30 and she wasn't signed in yet. Okay no problem. So I waited, I told her nachos, no jalapeños no olives, pretzels and a water bottle. That's when I realized you had Bottles!!!!!! BOTTLES of SODA! When the lady the night before gave us fountain sodas . Unbelievable. Most of your staff were awesome. Always pleasant when walking through the entrance. Big smiles most of the time and eye contact. Really good. Lots of cleaning products everywhere, I felt like they were available if we wanted them. How about activities? You don't want to offer activities for your guests? Only Friday/Saturdays do your guests get a campfire? Events? Our family spent most of the day somewhere else instead of spending money in your hotel. We have gone to many places and never even left the hotel, but this one literally tried to offer us nothing. ‍ No reason to stay, the game room is too tiny to take more then 15 minutes. read more

Excellent location, only a few mins away from the outlets and lots of things to do in the area. Very comfortable beds and clean rooms. The rooms also have a dorm size refrigerator in them. Amazing food and service in the Champney's restaurant! Absolutely beautiful views too! The desserts were so beautiful and delicious we had to try a few! Also, every time I went to the front desk with a question, there was always someone there to help. The only downfall was the keys are magnetic so if you put them next to your phone they will stop working. You'll just have to go back to the front desk to fix them. They said they are updating that in the near future. I am really surprised by the negative reviews, about worn out carpeting, sagging beds etc. While the carpeting may not be brand new, its not disgusting either and this is not a 5 star hotel. I also found the beds to be extremely comfortable and I am somewhat picky. I also only book my rooms on the top floor to avoid overhead noise. Overall, this is a great family friendly, comfortable and relaxing resort. I would avoid the negative reviews and would definitely recommend staying here. read more

Mixed feelings about the hotel itself. Lots of things I really really liked and yet some things I really didn't like. The room was very spacious , had 2 Queen beds and enough open space to put in a third queen bed. Liked having a nice big room but they probably should have had a couch and coffee table and a recliner in this space. It was kinda an odd open space with nothing in it. There was a nice sized table with 2 chairs but they didn't do much to fill up the huge open space. My fiancé used the space to do cartwheels for a funny Facebook video. All the normal room amenities, HD tv, decent sized fridge. Great lighting all around, including individual wall mounted reading lamps for each side of each bed. Liked that the sink is outside the bathroom allowing one guest to use it while another uses the private toilet or shower. The bathroom however was the most disappointing part of the room. Toilet paper holder was falling off the wall, shower surround was some sort of "bath fitter" kit that covered something older. The back panel wasn't glued on properly and had a huge bulge in it. If I pushed on it, it was like a huge air pocket trapped behind the panel. Ceiling paint was applied so sloppily that there were huge drips dried on the shower wall panels. Many many other areas of just plain sloppy repair evident all around the bathroom. One towel in our room had major brown stains on it and there was noticeable dirt/dust/hair in the corners and along the baseboards. I am in home repair/remodel industry so I am particularly susceptible to noticing these deficiencies. Had the bathroom been of decent repair I would have rated higher. All that being said. We paid a very reasonable price for the room which makes me forgiving of some deficiencies in the room. If you want a perfect room you pay double to triple this price. The major upside of the hotel however is the attached indoor water park. It's small but still fun. 4 large slides, wave pool , water basketball, 25 person hot tub as well as numerous child water attractions. Your kids will love it and if you are an even moderately fun person you'll enjoy it too. The park was included in our room price (weeknight stay) not sure if it's worth too much to pay extra for if you don't have kids. Other nice features of the park, nice large common area changing rooms for everybody plus lots of showers and bathrooms in private men's/woman rooms. Lockers included free for you to store your dry stuff. Nice decor throughout plus a small shop for emergency items you may have forgotten. Many life jackets for children who need them plus they looked pretty new as well as the tubes for water slides were all very new looking. Also the arcade in the hotel had decent newer games, not the rag tag collection found in a lot of hotel game rooms. The common spaces in the hotel were very spacious and well appointed. Very large dining area with fantastic views , including a "widows walk" rooftop observatory with 360° views of the white mountains. Nice bar on property. Also had an outdoor pool (closed for winter) and other amenities we did not check out) I would recommend the hotel as long as you're not crazy fussy about a little disrepair. Place is beautiful and a great time. One staff member named Stacey was one of the rudest human beings I have ever met. I had two drinks and she tells me I need to have water. Little does she know I'm paying her bills along with other customers. She is a bartender and she thinks she by serving someone two drinks you need a glass of water. This resort has a special place in my heart as I grew up coming here and also worked at a sister property on the Cape. This is our 4th stay at Red Jacket. I am sad to say if we were coming back to North Conway next year, we'd most likely choose a new hotel. Let me start with the positives - First, 98% percent of the staff I encountered on this stay were fantastic. You are always greeted with a smile and the feeling that they are genuinely happy to be serving you. Kahuna Laguna - We did visit the waterpark during our stay and while it is small, it is a lot of fun! They have 4 slides (2 tube slides and 2 body slides), a wave pool and a very generous sized area for kids that are to young for the big slides to play. The lifeguards do their job and they do it well. My one complaint was the inconsistency of the person at the top of the slides and mask wearing. One girl didn't have one on and the person that replaced her, did. Masks are supposed to protect other people and while getting on the slide (without a mask on) you are within 6 feet of that person. THE VIEW!! If you come here, splurge for the mountain view....it is breathtaking and I loved waking up to the mountains each morning. Now, on to the note so great things.... The room - as noted above, we booked a mountain view and I asked to be on a high floor..which was accommodated. These rooms are starting to show their age and need some updating for the price they are charging. The room was not very clean :-( Even in pre COVID times, I would not consider it clean. My husband had to go around the room and clean touch points. The back of the chair that is for the desk was covered in grease and bits of food (obviously a toddler had a meal here and no one cleaned up after..). There was some food on the balcony...not a huge deal as it is outside. The railing to the balcony was very loose....if an adult tripped and feel into it...you are going down...it was not safe. Dining - We stayed last year and enjoyed the food onsite..not so much this year. It just wasn't good. I ordered a protein box which came with fruit that had moldy strawberries...yum. The cooks in the Tiki Tide cafe were not wearing masks either. Lastly, the hotel has a policy that all guests must wear masks when in common areas of the hotel...so basically, anytime you are not in your room. I would say 85% guests followed this policy but 15% did not. If a hotel has a policy, the staff should be enforcing it..that was not the case. I saw an entire family come down the stairways without masks and a staff member walked right past them...never mind when you come down the stairs you are facing the front desk. We walked by the game room one evening and almost no one had a mask on. If you are fearful of COVID, don't come here until this is all over! One of the room cleaners was hacking up a lung in the hall way with no mask on...lovely. read more

Unless you pay a fortune (Mount Washington Resort, but that's far away) or go for a bed & breakfast (I like Nestle Nook, also a little bit further out), Red Jacket is about as nice as a hotel as you are going to get along the North Conway strip. I like it here, though it is geared for families. I've stayed here a number of times, both in the main hotel and in the condos. Everything is fine and clean, though a bit dated. You can get an in-room jacuzzi in the main hotel, which I've done. Pool and hot tub are nice. I like the restaurant, especially the drinks. My facial at the spa was not great, so I never went back. Staff is super friendly and I've never had a bad experience, hence the four stars (four stars is not because this is high-end. It is not.) read more

We brought our two kids and two friends here this weekend and loved it! Very welcoming staff. The water park was designed and layout was fantastic . Designed well to sequester young children away from the older kids. Slides were thrilling enough for my daring roller coaster going 14 yr and her friend and my 9 yr conservative safety girl. The restaurant bar was well stocked and the breakfast buffet was perfect after an entire day of running and sliding all day long in the water. Not well designed for handicapped or walking impaired. There are stairs everywhere!! Even in our room! Only bad points I will give is for cleanliness if the bathroom. Mold on backside of door and in the wallpaper. I was skevied out about how much mold was in the bathroom... I will return again! (*hopefully our bathroom will be cleaner) Our kids had a blast and slept in til 10a! We came at this place on presidents week. Stayed at the hotel for three day and paid $600 for the stay with water park and breakfast included. The room that we stayed was ok not great. My room was 105. The water park was fun and not crowded which was the best thing of this hotel. The staff was cool and accommodating. These are the cons that make me give this place only three stars. 1. Water park opens at 8am and closes at 10am for water cleaning and than from 11am to 9pm it stays open. I didn't get the closing after two hours after opening. 2. The restaurant in the hotel left a lot to be desired. 3. The parking lot is far away from the entrance of the hotel and if it snows which in this place of the country does is not a good walk. Twice I slipped even that the place was cleaned and salted down. 4. Room need to be upgraded and updated. As I stated above the place got the three stars for the staff politeness and the water park being clean and well taken care. read more

We stayed in the Garden View RooM and the bathtub clogged, the sheets were dirty, the railing to the loft was wobbling and the fire alarm was broken. This is all during COVID! We recently stayed at the Red Jacket Mountain View Resort in North Conway, New Hampshire and had a lovely stay. Not only is it a lovely resort but it also has Kahuna Laguna Indoor Water Park! The Resort is beautiful. As you drive up you see it up on the hill. We had a Mountain View Family Alcove Room which overlooks the mountain range, and has two separate rooms. The kids were excited to sleep in bunk beds and have their own TV. It was nice having a door so the kids could get to sleep earlier. The beds were really comfortable. You could easily fit up to 6 people in the room. I also noticed that our room was very quiet. There was very little noise that we could overhear from the hall or other rooms. We also had a lovely view of the Mountains from our room. I think the highlight for my kids was the Kahuna Laguna Indoor Water Park. The first day we arrived the weather was very rainy so it was a perfect time for the Water Park. There are packages that can be purchased that include the water park, or if you are staying at the Red Jacket Fox Ridge Resort it is $20 a person to enjoy the water park. You can also visit the water park even if you are not staying at a Red Jacket Resort. The kids loved the slides. There are four slides. Two require a tube and two do not. There is also a 25 person Hot Tub. Another favorite for my son is the basketball area in the water. The wave pool was great too. There are also areas for smaller children to play, splash and slide. There is also an outdoor heated pool which we enjoyed. If you get hungry by the pool, no need to worry. There is The Tiki Tide Cafe with drinks and food. The prices were very affordable. There are also packages that include breakfast which we got to enjoy. The breakfast area was in Champney's and was right down the hall from us. There is a wonderful breakfast buffet including an omelet/egg station, french toast, pancakes, Eggs Benedict, sausage, bacon, home fries, fruit and pastries. A server gives you your beverages and there is coffee on the table. The breakfast was excellent and had a beautiful view of the mountains. There are many activities going on during the day for families and the resort provides a schedule. This ranges from movies, to video game contests. We went to ceramics on one of the nights we stayed. The kids had an awesome time painting little doggies. Each of the items has a small charge from about $5 to $14. The location is perfect and close to the North Conway center and Story Land and other family attractions. Overall we loved it and would return in a heartbeat. read more

All interactions with staff members were pleasant and professional, everyone went out of their way to accommodate all our needs and the amenities that the resort offers are top notch. Unfortunately, we found the beds to be beyond the point of use, and I believe they should be replaced. One bed, in particular, was so bad, that it was impossible to find a comfortable sleeping position which led to almost sleepless nights for the person in that bed, to the point of me sleeping in my car part of the last night so my fiance could sleep without disruption. The indoor water park (kahuna laguna ) is very small and it is not worth staying overnight. This water park is suitable for children age 10 and under. No activities for adults and guest services were not helpful with suggesting events or places to visit. Garbage and linens were in the hallway and blankets were placed on the floor in front of the room when requested. The game room was very small without many options other than a few games.This resort/Indoor water park is in need of renovation and expansion. I'm a little confused by these reviews I definitely don't think it's as bad as people think it is. However I went during a time when the water park was free so that was pretty Nice. We first walked in and a room is pretty nice it was a mountain view. I think the room was bigger than I expected It was pretty clean and everybody was super nice that we met. The pool outside was really well maintained. The lifeguards at kahuna Laguna were super nice and inside was very nice as well. I like the different things that everyone could do if you wanted to just swim you could if you wanted to do water slides there was things for like every age. We really liked walking around outside at nighttime. The boys really enjoyed the park and the next day we had a picnic there. The food is definitely overpriced in the water park for what it is and I wish that they would jazz it up a little bit. overall it was an awesome stand I wish we got to stay longer read more

Very disappointed with the hotel dining experiences. Two different occasions we chose to eat at the hotel. Both occasions the hosting staff was inept. The wait staff unprofessional. The dinner menu offered a variety of dishes. The adult's meals were adequate. The children's (mac&cheese and burger) food was room temperature and flavorless. We surprised our 13 year old twins (and our two year old) with an overnight trip here. I had read numerous reviews and had heard nothing but wonderful things. I have to say, I was NOT disappointed. First off it was affordable for a mountain view room with plenty of room, even with an additional cot. The view was AMAZING. It was clean and considering the amount of children in neighboring rooms it was surprisingly quiet! I'd say my only complaint was the water pressure in the toilet (had to call the front desk for help within thirty minutes of check in - to which they responded immediately). The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. We did not dine at the resort or visit the lounge though it all smelled and looked wonderful. The amenities can't be beat. Discounted park tickets to Kahuna Laguna, a fun game room, lots of planned activities for the whole family (ceramics, movie night and a bonfire on Friday night!) and beautiful views amid a gorgeous and well maintained resort. Really, worth the price. We are hoping to stay again next winter to begin an ongoing tradition in our family. read more

Definitely WOULD NOT go here again! My husband and I planned a overnight stay at the Red Jacket Mountain View Resort, to surprise our 4 children and my brother for his birthday. We were so excited! Our kids are 9, 8, 5 and 3. It's been a difficult year with Covid and we felt the kids deserved this, especially after the two older kids have been remote learning for the past year! We drove a little over two and a half hours and got there around 3:30. We were told our room wasn't ready, so we waited about 15 minutes and still our room wasn't ready. We were sitting in the lobby with all our stuff and four kids. We were told we could use the water park in the meantime, but honestly that's really not easy having four kids and so much stuff! I was supposed to go through all our bags and then put everything else back in the car and go change in the water park then what????So we waited! Around 4:30 my husband checked again, we were told our room was ready! We were all excited because we we're getting a loft room and the kids were dying to see it! When we opened the door we realized someone's stuff was in the room already!!!! They had given us a loft room, but some one else was already staying in it! We were so aggravated at this point! We were supposed to be having fun with my brother and his family, but here we are dealing with a screw up! This was a major screw up! It could have been dangerous entering someone's room, if they had been there, or if they came back! It was so unprofessional! My husband went to get someone at the front desk , and the woman came up saw what we were talking about and just walked away! She wasn't kind and caring, nor was she apologizing! We were left standing in the hall with our kids and all of our bags! This was ridiculous! We decided that we would go to the water park after all, it was so much work! The point of going to this hotel especially with kids, is too check in get settled...and dressed then go to the water area! Nope, not us! We stopped by the desk and before heading to the water park. We were told they were working on a solution, we still didn't have a room, but if we would stop by the desk after we were done at the park they would have one ready! We were told our room would be upgraded too! At this point it was 5:30 ish. We tried to enjoy ourselves, but it was hard because we were so frustrated! That affects the kiddos too! Our dinner plans got pushed back, really everything did! Everything from there was rushed! Finally around 7:45 we got a room! It wasn't an upgrade, it wasn't even as cool as the loft room! Apparently, it was a Mountain View, and is why it was considered an upgrade! Well, guess what people you can't see the mountains at 8 pm, and we were spending most of our time out of the at that point rushed and out of the room! Our kids were so tired by the time we got our stuff in the room! We still needed to eat though, after all we were still celebrating my hubs & my brothers birthday! His two year old was ready for bed! We rushed to get dressed, went to a rushed dinner with exhausted kids! Then headed back to the room to sleep! We got breakfast the next morning and went to the water park! Then we had to check out! We lost a lot of time being inconvenienced! It was a nightmare! The staff was very unprofessional! We finally got to speak with the Manager Carrie the next morning, who agreed to refund us! She also agreed we deserved a "re-do" because we weren't able to enjoy our stay! We were offered the water park for the remainder of that day, but we still had to be checked out of our room! Haha, so that wasn't convenient, and didn't make up for the way we were treated or the time we lost! We couldn't take advantage of that anyway, because we paid someone to watch our animals and needed to get back by a specific time! Our kids were affected by our frustration! We were stressed out! Carrie agreed to make plans and contact another Red Jacket, that would be more convenient for us to stay at over the summer...for our one night red-do! She said she would email us! Turns out after handing our kids a small stuff Monkey and us driving away again a little over two and a half hours back home, she had no intentions of doing any of what she said to make this right! I think that's PATHETIC! We've reached out a few times via email and haven't gotten a response, I mean not even a reply?? Even if she was busy or working on it, you would think she would be a decent person and respond...I guess not! I would say the water area was okay, not worth the trip! I definitely would not stay there EVER again! I'm very disappointed in the customer service, lack of hospitality, and a manager just not really caring about her guests and their children! I tried to avoid giving a bad review, but she obviously didn't care! So there you have it! read more

They offered a lot between the arcade, the indoor water park (genius idea for a NH resort!) and playground, movie nights, swimming pool... there was plenty to do and it was central to everything North Conway has to offer. A short walk to the Muddy Moose, short drive to downtown shops and the outlets. They offered coffee at 6AM downstairs. I'm looking forward to returning sometime in the future. read more

We went back and forth on visiting the Red Jacket and waterpark due to the mixed reviews. After seeing a Groupon we decided to try it. I am so glad that we did and didn't listen to the negative reviews. The cost of the hotel does not always include waterpark passes so make sure you check into this when you make your reservations. The hotel was clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, comfortable and had a nice balcony. We have been to Great Wolf Lodge a couple times and actually like this better. The waterpark was clean, warm and plenty to do for all ages. It was nice that we could have our 8 year old run around without having to worry about her. The large hot tub my husband and I enjoyed l. If you didn't want to do the waterpark there are activities throughout the day, an arcade and hiking trails near by. It is also close to shopping and restaurants. You can spend a couple days at the resort and not leave the grounds if you didn't want to. The view from the hotel is also spectacular. We will be returning and recommend others do to. read more

The location is perfect. Close to the outlets, Mount Washington, lots of restaurants and a few breweries. The room itself however needs some serious updates. Not sure what the other rooms look like, the pictures look good, but the Mountain View room with the king size bed and whirlpool tub is very outdated. There is red flower wallpaper on one wall and black flower wallpaper on the other. What didn't have wallpaper on it was painted in different shades of green. The paint itself probably wouldn't have been bad the wallpaper was horrible. The walls are also really thin. We could hear the people next door and the people under our room. I'd maybe stay here again, due to the location or if I was bringing kids and staying in a different room. read more

Great resort for the family. Activities galore, plenty of kids around. Price is fine and fees are expected. Some of the negative reviews here are for things that you would see if you researched before you came i.e. fee for water park, not the hotel for a quiet mountain trip etc. Rooms nice and clean. The outside view of this resort is absolutely beautiful. We had 22 of us total with 12 adults and 10 kids. Parking could have been planned a bit better. There are exits towards the parking lot out back however, the walkway is rather steep so if its icy or you have someone who struggles up hill whether it be a child or elderly person, they would need to go to the front entrance where you can drive down and pick them up on level ground. Thats not always an option if its a small child and you are the only adult. We stayed during a snowfall of about 6 inches. The walkways were all cleared and salted nicely. Parking lot wasnt plowed well but more so because of the cars in the way i am sure. The rooms are an average size. They do have a great loft type room for larger families. The stairways are really narrow. If there's some one coming up the stairs and you're going down, someone will need to back up so the other can go. The restaurant breakfast buffet was good. The seating is nice. The dinner buffet was not worth the price. It was limited and very generic. We did make reservations and they did accommodate us nicely keeping all 22 of us together. The waterpark is a nice touch but considering its part of the hotel it should be included with the room accommodations. 20 bucks for a few hours for the waterpark and 10 bucks to just go in and watch your child...thats not participating in the water park just sitting there. The adults went to the lounge for a couple of drinks saturday night. The bartender was not only rude but in no hurry to serve us. We chose to go across the street where the bartender there was quite friendly and made our drinks with no issues. My 60 year old mom picked up what she thought was a drink menu and the bartender snatched it out of her hand and told her "those are my drink directions not a menu". I probably would not reccomend this resort and i probably would not go back. read more

First time staying at this resort while in North Conway. We typically book a condo so the kids can go to bed in their own room and we can relax in the livingroom. This time we wanted to check out the Kahuna Laguna water park after the annual trip to Storyland. The rooms are a little dated as many reviews have pointed out. Our room had 2 double beds, so we slept adult/kid to make some space. After getting use to condos, sharing a single room with two young kids is a bit of an adjustment - everyone off to sleep at the same time! However, we were here to use the indoor water park, so the room was really just a launching pad and a place to sleep for a couple nights. The Kahuna Laguna was a blast. We closed the place each night and had some exhausted kids come bed time. There is a small cafe inside of the water park where we had dinner the first night. Nothing fancy, but it hit the spot and my son inhaled his grilled cheese. They also have some local beers and a few frozen adult beverages to keep the parents happy. The lifeguards were always keeping watch on the wave pool and water slides. There are life vests available for the smaller children as well as bigger kids who might not be strong swimmers yet. Two of the water slides are "body slides" and two use inflatable rafts. The rafts come in doubles and singles, so a parent can ride down with a child. There is also a water basketball area on the other side of the wave pool. We didn't have great weather on our trip, so we never used the outdoor pool or the kid's activities, but the outdoor pool is large and has a gym and tavern attached. March 2019: This hotel is absolutely disgusting !! To be clear before I share our experience I do want to admit that I am a very picky person when it comes to staying elsewhere. I am very aware of every detail / surroundings in hotel rooms. We arrived to the Red Jacket Resort on Friday 3/8/19 with my husband & two girls. We were meeting friends for the weekend to ski and enjoy water park for the kids. Our friends were also staying here as well. From the initial check in I did not get a good feeling about this hotel. I went with the flow and proceeded to check out our room assigned to us which is room 310. As we were walking through the hallway I heard the maids in another room complaining how gross the room they were currently cleaning. I kept walking to check out our room . I checked out our room throughly . I found in my initial sweep : stains on one of the bed sheets, and the toilet had poop remnants on the back edge of the seat. We immediately called the front desk to have them come change the sheets on that one bed. The maid said to me "sorry we are in the process of changing Linen companies". WTF kind of answer is that!!! That is no excuse!!! I was grossed out and did not want to complain anymore and spoil the fun weekend planned for my family so I decided to deal with the gross toilet and Clorox wipe it myself. We all went out to eat and came back around 5:30 pm to head to water park. Around 9:00pm I took my girls up to the room to shower before bed. As the girls were getting ready for bed I was tiding up our belongings. As I moved my Sandals I found black ants crawling on them. I freaked out and called my husband who was still down stairs at water park. He told me he will come right up to the room. As I peeled back the Newly changed bed the sheet under the comforter had another stain on it. My husband called the front desk again to come change the bed for the second time. This was now around 10:00 pm. He said the same thing to me about the horrible Linen company they have. When he was done I asked him if he had ant spray . He said let me look and I'll come back. At this point I truly needed to take Advil PM or something to knock me out!!! He came back with ant spray. I asked him if I could spray it around the perimeter of the room . He said sure. So I sprayed it all around the room. I thanked the man . 1/2 later I looked around the edges of the room near the fridge. There were bugs flopping around trying to stay alive. I took pictures of the bugs which I truly think are bed bugs. I compared them online. They were all around!!! We packed up all of our stuff so fast and had to move two children In The middle of the night around 11:00 pm . We went to the front desk to check out. Gary checked us out. He asked us " is everything Okay?" I did. It go into detail with him. There were people in the Lobby and did not want to make a scene and not to mention I was itchy from head to toe and needed to escape ASAP! We did receive a full Refund. Marriott Residence Inn took us in for the night. What a difference in hotels!! I truly think this place needs to be shut down. It is that bad and old!!! I'll attach pictures of the bugs and stains. You can take this advice or see for yourself staying there. Thanks to this situation we are now separated from our friends who stayed there for the night . Word of mouth is very powerful !!!!! Notice that on all of Red Jackets poor reviews the management does not comment but the good reviews they say thank-you. That right there is poor customer service!! read more

I am currently staying in the hotel right now and have come across a lot of concerns! We have spent well over $1000 to stay for the weekend which we have been saving for months for our kids. The room is terrible so many safety issues. Along with health concerns, and some very poor but easy to fix cosmetic issues. (Picture included) The bathtub does not drain so showering and bathing feels redundant after the pool when you have to stand in your own filth. For as much money as we have spent, I would assume we would have more then just a few beds to sleep in. Nothing is included: coffee, breakfast, and etc. It cost $3 for a dozen eggs at the store, and out of all the money we spent on the hotel we couldn't even get eggs. Coffee pots were taken out of rooms for civic and now they charge you and explain why it's not free (covid) ever excuse. Such things as a railing not attached could cause MY CHILDREN to fall down the very steep stairs and possible CAUSE DEATH! read more
