    Hot tub in room
    Amy T.

This place was perfect for our needs. We finished a 9+ mile hike that morning and definitely needed the personal hot tub that evening. The room was perfectly updated with granite counter tops in the bathroom. There was also a regular sized bath tub in there. There's a balcony with chairs, a mini fridge, a microwave, and a fireplace (have to ask to have it turned on during the summer). Outside there's a large children's playset, 2 large hammocks, a decent sized pool and jacuzzi. There's a railway adjacent to the property, but we only heard 1 train go by in the late morning. The front desk provided several restaurant options for dinner, several are within walking distance. FYI, we did note that most local restaurants do not offer take out. Downstairs there was a vending machine that contained water bottles and some small candies. Definitely recommend.

My wife and I stayed at the Golden Gables Inn for 4 nights, Mon - Thur, just before the 4th of July weekend. We did travel quite a bit over the past couple of years despite the goings on in the US and world. We were very pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness. Room was spotless. Pool was great. Staff was super friendly. There was no housekeeping service, but there was no issue getting towels and supplies. Pricing was very affordable. This is within walking distance of a lot of shopping and eateries. Free coffee was available in lobby, but not until 8:00 am. I and other guests would have liked coffee to be available much earlier. I highly recommend the Golden Gables Inn in North Conway. We will likely make a return visit.

Went for a weekend getaway for our 5th wedding Anniversary. Found Golden Gables Inn in Booking.com. Booked a King Deluxe Room for the weekend of Aug. 28-30th. I have to say I have never been so satisfied with a property. It was beautifully kept, fire pit, pool, hot tub. When we walked into the room it was comfortable, roomy and very clean! As a manager of housekeeping my expectations are high when going into any hotel room but I was blown away with the cleanliness! Everything was spotless and smelled clean. From check-in to check-out I was thoroughly pleased with the establishment and the staff! We will hopefully be staying here everytime we are in North Conway! Very well done! The only thing I would suggest is a wall up between room 206's balcony and the room to the right (if you're looking out into the parking lot from the balcony). The other rooms balcony extends out giving them clear view of 206's room from their balcony. Oh and a bar/ring to hang hand towel next to the bathroom sink!

The staff was friendly and helpful. Great family owned bussiness. Very clean. There is no maid service. They give you clean towels ect when asked. There is a pool and hot tub outside. Very clean grounds and clean pool area. Community fire pit. Great to meet other folks as you relax by the fire. Don't forget your smores stuff. I recommend this clean hotel .

Swimming pool, play area and fire pit.

First, I want to genuinely commend Chris, who went above and beyond and appeared to be one of the only consistent staff members throughout our stay. He was responsible for cooking breakfast, bartending, cleaning, and general hotel upkeep. We were told he had worked 10 days in a row, which speaks volumes about how severely understaffed this property was. His effort was appreciated--but no employee should be carrying an entire hotel. Because of the staffing shortages, cleanliness and maintenance suffered significantly. Several rooms--including one we reserved--were clearly neglected. A chair in one room was covered in marker scribbles, trash cans had no plastic liners, and housekeeping was unable to provide daily room refreshes. For the price paid, daily cleaning and upkeep should be standard. The amenities were especially disappointing. The hot tub was visibly dirty, with sludge and foam present, making it unusable. To make matters worse, all of the outdoor chairs appeared to have been carelessly thrown into a sloppy pile next to the hot tub, completely ruining the area. It looked unkempt, uninviting, and poorly managed--definitely not a space anyone would want to relax in or take photos near. The bar was technically open, but with so few employees, getting a drink involved long wait times, making the experience frustrating rather than enjoyable. Breakfast also fell far below expectations. The buffet was extremely basic and overcrowded, with only ONE waffle machine for a very large number of guests and minimal food option Overall, the cost of this stay did not align with the condition, cleanliness, service availability, or amenities provided. This is not a reflection of the hardworking staff--especially Chris--but rather a serious operational and staffing failure. Until these issues are addressed, this property does not meet expectations for a Marriott-branded hotel.

Otherwise, it's fairly barebones and minimalistic, but very clean. The beds were clean and reasonably comfortable. I didn't try the breakfast at this location but it looked like the usual Fairfield breakfast with cereal, yogurt, waffles, and a couple of hot items (eggs, breakfast meat). The dining area is large and spacious and looked well-maintained. It's a nice touch to have a skimobile in front of the hotel as homage to the past Mount Cranmore resort area that I used to vacation frequently. The staff in front was pretty polite and friendly, though I did not have to interact with them very much. This is a good choice if you wanted a hotel closer to the North Conway Village, though you probably still would have to drive or bike there.

We were randomly assigned room #324 which we thought was so funny because 3/24 is Boyfriend's birthdate so although we usually prefer being on the top floor, we decided to keep it. It was super quiet this time, and we never heard anyone walking upstairs. Very nice gym and breakfast area downstairs. They have a hot chocolate station with toppings and mini marshmallows! And make your own waffles station, again with various toppings, eggs, toast, bagels, English muffins etc. Rooms are spacious with a kitchen area with a full fridge, microwave, even a dishwasher and you can request a cooktop at front desk to cook in the room, probably very convenient when traveling with kids. We loved our stay here and will most likely be back when in North Conway!

Even without the familial connection, I'd be absolutely in love with this place. Family and friends gathered this past weekend for a memorial hike in honor of my dad, who passed in 2007. Leon and Nellie went out of their way to accommodate us, down to even offering additional rooms when some extra guests appeared and getting up extra early to make us to-go egg sandwiches we could take long on our hike up Mt. Washington. Both our group and the other guests at the Inn were treated like treasured friends in their home and it felt like a big old family reunion for us all. The Spruce Moose is the perfect location---a short walk to the adorable North Conway village, and a quick drive to countless hiking options. The decor makes you feel like you're visiting friends in a luxurious mountain home. Zeb and Avery, the two trusty labs, greet you at the door and will cuddle you on the couch for hours if you let them. The beds are comfy, and the rooms contain no tvs so you can truly enjoy the nature around you (though there IS wi-fi if you need your technology fix). Breakfast in the morning is delicious and filling. Tea and coffee are available at any time. It was an amazing weekend, in no small part to Leon and Nellie. One thing that I didn't like was the wall air conditioning units. Like the last time we were there, it turns off in the middle of the night, ugh! The sheets were kinda scratchy as well. Standard amenities: hair dryer (works well!), iron and ironing board, safe, in room Starbucks coffee, shampoo, conditioner, soaps, lotions, cable, alarm radio/clock What I like about this hotel is the attached water park and the fun activities they have for the kids. Nightly marshmallow toasting (not a smore! Marshmallow only) and fun things like movie night, pool parties, arcade, and kite making activities. Plenty of parking but far away from the rooms on the left side of the hotel.
