When you choose to stay at this motel, you're not choosing it because of its luxuries or top notch accommodations. You choose to stay here because it's a great location for going to the fair, tubing in the Saco, or dining/shopping in North Conway. For nearly $400 a night for a "suite" you get a very old style motel room with zero upgrades. The refrigerator door has to be open in order to access one of the kitchen doors and cabinets. The back sliding door is distorted and desperately needs to be replaced. The furniture is ratty and old. The whole place just screams cheap and outdated. The one blanket they provide for you in the closet has a hole in it. The bathroom, although fairly large, is just gross. The toilet moves and it has scratches and dings all in it. The bathroom door has a rot spot on the inside from water damage. I mean, it's just no better than your old college dorm room. I would expect this caliber for maybe half the price of what we paid, but this for certain is not worth the money. I stayed for two nights during Christmas, as I have family very close by. It was extremely inexpensive, which was a nice surprise. They were happy to accommodate my large dog. It was nice and quiet at night, and I slept well in the comfortable bed. Our room was clean, and the person who checked us in was very friendly and knowledgeable. This is our third time here. It's a small clean place with courteous caretakers. If you're looking for a lot of amenities with room service just move on, but for a clean room and a solid place to stay at a great price this place deserves a look. The absolute worst place I've ever booked! Horrible customer service, if your a local forget it. They won't let you stay there. We had no place to stay as we were in between moving to a new house. We had 3 kids and we reserved and paid for a 2 bedroom lodge, when we went to check In the girl asked a million questions and actually called my girlfriends phone to make sure it was her even after she gave them her license and passport. When the girl working there saw my girlfriends address she's like ohh your a local? My girlfriend is like yeahh. But my boyfriend isn't local. She's like well your the one that booked it so you can't stay here in a sparky voice. you can't stay here if your local! I've never in my life heard of such a thing.. like our money is no good there.. almost 300 dollars we paid. They returned our money but the inconvenience and the rude attitude we got I was just mind blown. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. I guess we probably should have looked at the other reviews of this place because there all bad! Accept for the ones they wrote for themselves obviously. Rustic motor lodge right along the Saco River. Price was reasonable and the location was perfect for our fishing ventures into Maine. We had an issue with our room on the first night, but it was quickly resolved by the staff. The people working at this motor lodge are super friendly, we had positive interactions with all of the staff we encountered. They also let me have my boat stay on the grounds during our stay. Rooms are clean. There is also an outside pool, but we didn't use it during our stay. Would definitely stay here again in the future if we plan another trip to the area. read more

STOLE ITEMS OUT OF ROOM! Had to file a police report after coming back to the room at the end of the day to find multiple items stolen that we have not yet been able to recover. Management was absolutely no help. Also all amenities are out of date and beds are unclean and uncomfortable. read more

My family had been staying here off and on. Had been, our room had black flakes of mold on the ceiling. The toilet and floor sink, when sat upon, even though there is what appears to be new flooring. We had to get a plunger for the toilet as sewage backed up in to the toilet and sink. We will never stay here again. read more

Just awful. Awful, dirty, run-down, over-priced, fly-infested, horrible example of "lodging" in New Hampshire. Stay as far away from Saco River Motor Lodge as you can. You'll be greeted by flies and black mold in your "suite" as soon as you walk in. And management WILL NOT refund you when you have no choice but to leave after 1 night because the conditions were so deplorable and unlivable. We had a 2 night reservation in Suite 3 on 8/12/22 & 8/13/22. We stayed on 8/12 but after sharing our bedrooms with all the flies, we couldn't stand to stay another night. Our weekend trip was completely cut short because all other hotels in the area were sold out. Saco River Motor Lodge RUINED our last weekend away before kids go back to school and refused (RUDELY) to reimburse us for the night we did not stay. It goes to show why this hotel was the only one within a 25 mile radius to have vacancy that weekend. Don't believe the "good" reviews. Do not stay here. Housekeeping left the hotel room door open all day while we were out. The manger Brian Baker has dodged responsibility for days. Unapologetic and unprofessional. He will not credit anything back. I was one thing for housekeeping not even clean our rooms (we weren't at the ritz,) it's another to be negligent. Spend the extra 30-50 a night to stay at a nicer resort. I promise it will be worth it. I'm not very picky when it comes to a place to stay at night. This place is not clean at all. That didn't bother me, but it may bother some. The worst part is that I was locked out of my room at midnight for over 40 minutes in 9 degree weather. The batteries in the door die when it gets too cold (it gets cold there a lot), and you cannot get in with the key card they provide you with. At this time of the night no one is at the front desk, there is just a sign with a phone number to call. I called the number 15 times over the course of 10 minutes, with no answer. I had to call the local police department to get in touch with someone that eventually helped me out (after 45 minutes of being locked out of the dump that I paid for). I contacted the property management group who basically said it happens and there is nothing that they can do. He then offered me 10% off of my next stay LOL. I will never go back to this dump, and you shouldn't either. read more

On a ski and shop vacation with my wife, and a number of friends, we found this motel. At first we were a little sceptical being the room rate was a measly $49 / night, but we booked it anyway. Am i glad we did. The price was awesome for such a great motel. Yes the rooms aren't the swankiest, biggest, fully loaded but they were exactly what we needed. It had a bed (queen sized), a microwave, mini fridge, TV (lots of channels), free wifi, and a bathroom - tub not included (shower only) It was clean, quiet, close enough to the town of North Conway (10 Min's), and cheaper then any others we could find. Close to many ski hills, shoping, and some amazing Restaurants. If / when I'll be back to North Conway, this will be where i stay, hands down. read more

Horrible, I called to make a reservation because I needed a place to stay while some work was being done on my house and the person I spoke with said that they would not rent to me because I was local. When I questioned him about it he said that "local people don't need to rent a room." It shouldn't matter if I'm local or not, I was paying for the room so why should it matter? When I go to a hotel/motel the most important thing I expect is cleanliness. When I check into my room I always check the sheets etc to make sure they are clean. Well when I pull back the comforter that laid on top of the sheets there was white crusty stains on the backside of the comforter. I threw it on the floor. We were a large group that has stayed there in the past. Another person in our group has a room near my room. She came out very upset that her room had a terrible smell. I walked over there and it smelled so awful as if something had died in the room. So we take a walk down to the office. I asked for a manager and he said there isn't one. I am the only person here. He was a young boy. I explained the situation. He says well let's go take a look. So we go to my friends room first and the young boy says I don't smell anything. I said how can you not I was choking. He said he wasn't sensitive to smell. Now we walk over to my room where the comforter was laying on the floor. I had him pick it up and I showed it to him. He said yes that's gross. I said yes I know. That comforter was touching the "clean" sheets on my bed. He said want a new comforter I said no i don't. I would expect the one I have now would be clean. How do i know the next one is clean. I had a blanket in my car so I ended up sleeping on that. The boy left and went and got a bottle of ferbreeze and left it at her door. That wasn't going to fix it. So she ended up sleeping on the couch for the night. Not even in the bed she paid for. It doesn't stop there.... I go to take a shower and grab a towel off the towel rack. There was about 5 towels. The first one I pull off had a stain right on the top. So i grab the next one, same thing! Then the next one too. I used the last towel. It looked like a blood stain that was old and didn't wash out. Not sure if it was or not but it was a dark brown stain on a bunch of the towels. I was so disgusted. There was nobody to complain to. There was no manger on duty. We checked out on Sunday. I called on Tuesday and got Sarah. I asked if she was the manager and she said no that the manager would be in later in the day and would have them call me. No call. Wednesday I call in the morning and got Sarah again. She said the manager never came on Tuesday because she got held up at another property. I said ok well today is Wednesday is she expected today and she said yes and she was sorry and would have her call me later in the day. No call. I call Thursday morning. Guess who I get... Sarah. I said I can't believe I haven't gotten a call back and she said she was sorry and asked for my email address to get things moving. Still no email. I would stay away from this place. Nobody seem to care at all about your experience. The rooms are NOT cheap and they are not clean. His was owned by someone else in the past when we stayed here but now it is new owners and nobody seems to care. I am so upset. What a horrible experience all around!! We always go in a group so we usually rent out 20-23 rooms a year in advance. So they know we are coming and the rooms should be clean. Let's see if I ever hear from anyone. read more

We just arrived, I honestly picked the cheapest and most decent looking motel on yelp. We went for the king sized bedroom because it was only 20 dollars more than the queen. The room is beautiful and EXTREMELY clean! The toilet paper was folded, even hand folded designs in the towels with a his and hers sink! We stayed this past weekend. We have stayed there before but we usually get one of the rooms in front for our kayaking trip. This year we decided to stay in one of the three bedroom suites. They were bigger then expected. What I would call the master bedroom is bigger then some hotel rooms I have been in. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I stayed for one night while attending a wedding nearby. The room was clean and comfortable, with a surprise electric fireplace that made my day (and made me much warmer). Rolled up here the other weekend for some fresh air and canoeing down the Saco River. I went with a group of friends and we rolled up late friday evening to a very spacious yet cozy 3 bedroom that was incredibly cheap. The space could comfortably fit between 6-8 people, and it was only $240 a night (which broke down to $40 per person) Super Cheap!!! The place was clean on arrival and inspection and the beds were pretty comfy (minus the pull out sofa, which I dont think could ever be comfortable) The next morning or early afternoon rather the maid/cleaning service came by with fresh towels and other necessities. She was very friendly and welcoming when we answered the door. And was in & out before half of us were even up. Oh and when we first got there the guy at the front desk was kind enough to clue us in on the hot spots of Conway NH. And let me tell you we were not disappointed one bit! The only thing missing was the mints on the pillows, but that won't stop us from coming back next year! read more

I spent the night a few nights ago at the Saco River Motor Lodge, and it was super clean and very nice. I wasn't expecting much because it was quite inexpensive and it was the first place I found with vacancy, yet I was pleasantly surprised. The room was a good size and was tastefully decorated (someone put some time into it, you could tell) and clean. The water pressure in the shower was great and there was plenty of hot water. I have to give them 2 stars only because the mattresses are TERRIBLE. They sag in the middle and they are the most uncomfortable "beds" I have ever attempted to try and sleep on. I think the floor would of been more comfy. They also made a tremendous amount of noise at the slightest move. I had two double beds and both were the same. They also need to invest in some mini blinds on the windows as the sheer curtains were not enough to block all the outside lights they had on. The PROS: The people were VERY friendly and the room was clean. The A/C kept the room cool as well. The continental breakfast was very nice and was ready right at 7:30 a.m. It had a nice tv and ample lighting inside and cute chairs to sit on outside. I'm also glad they were non smoking. Overall, a decent place for the price but they really need to invest in better mattresses because I couldn't get any sleep... If they would replace them with better mattresses they would be able to ask more. The room was about a $69 a night room not $89. read more

We stayed at the Saco River Motor Lodge this past Saturday night with my two grandkids. We loved the pool, playground and fire pits. Kids had a great time swimming during the day and toasing marshmellows at night while making new friends. The staff is very friendly and the girl Sam at the front desk was very helpful and extremely friendly. She made me feel very comfortable when we checked in and even after we checked out I went back to ask her for directions to a beach and she still had the smile on her face. Beds were very comfy and clean. Room was a bit small, but worth the money we paid. I would stay here again and actually am looking forward to going back again next year with the kids....Thank you for a wonderful time...It is nice to find a place that is affordable and fun for people like myself that cannot afford to stay in expensive hotels.
