This hotel was so convenient for hitting the slopes. I loved that it was ski in/ski out and the ski check was very easy. I love the bear peak part of Attitash and this allows for quick access to the lifts and we were able to take the shuttle to the Bear Den for a drink after our ski day also and it was a very short walk back afterwards. I loved that the room had a stove and basic cooking supplies and the cafeteria on the second floor had a delicious breakfast sandwich. In the future I would definitely stay here again! read more

Stayed for the second time for two nights, in a three bedroom deluxe suite. The Grand Summit Hotel was built for skiers yet offers plenty to summer guests! We stayed to be close to hiking trails and Attitash rides. Unfortunately the alpine slides were closed due to maintenance, but that gave us more time to enjoy the huge outdoor pool. The base of Mt. Washington is about 35 minutes from the hotel. North Conway is about 20 minutes and offers grocery stores, breweries, shopping and restaurants. Lincoln is also about a half an hour ride, which takes you along the beautifully scenic Bear Notch road and Kancamagus highway. Grand Summit offers comfortable and spacious rooms with balconies, fully equipped kitchens, multiple bathrooms, cable tv's, roomy living rooms and large dining areas. Assistance is just a phone call or steps away. Exceptionally clean and well kept hotel that hasn't faded since my first stay back in 2011. read more

Brought my daughter up to have an impromptu nice end of February vacation with her boyfriend. We were able to call and get a stay but told it was a 2 night minimum stay here, we only wanted one night but it was what it was. Check In was something, waited an hour + for the room which would've been fine if they were transparent about it, Albert and Lana were super rude with no real reasoning for anything, Finally got to the room and the accommodations were alright not great but fine. Went to the bar and the bartenders Brian and his girlfriend were very nice but seemed very understaffed...everyone seemed to want people out of there...hotels and apres ski places deal with a lot but it would be nice to feel that those who aren't giving much of a bother are treated without annoyance for just being there read more

Stayed here for Feb vacation. Was better than I thought it was going to be. Didn't realize we had a full kitchen including toaster, plates, wine glasses, full size fridge, etc., large bathroom. Heated outdoor pool was fun to swim in while it was snowing. Met a bunch of great families during our stay. Only reason it's not 5 stars is there is no EV charging. Would stay again. read more

Would not reccommend this hotel due to cleanliess and support of staff when encountering a problem. Room was dated and dirty. Arrived to broken air conditioning and light bulbs out in kitchen area. Maintanence came to fix it, but who wants to start their vacation with maintenance in the room upon arrival. Deck was filty and could not even use it. Doesn't anyone check the rooms before a guest arrives, to ensure cleanliness and working air conditioning and light bulbs. Upon returning to the room, we were greeted with mosquitoes and other various bugs in the room. We did not leave any doors or windows open. They were obviously in the room when we arrived. When we asked the front desk to please move us, as the room was filled with bugs, they said they were full and could not move us. We proceeded to climb on chairs and sofas to try and kill all the mosquitoes and spiders we could see. That did not keep the children and adults from waking up with multiple bug bites. We were there for 2 nights with 5 granchildren and the thought of packing up and moving all the stuff (as parents of children know) we figured we must have killed most of the bugs and we decided to stay. I called the manager on our way home ( as he was not in hotel at time) to inform him of the probelms we encountered. I left two voice messages and sent an email with no reply to any of my phone calls or voice mails. Thank you Tim Butts acting manager, for not caring about what your guests think of your hotel. My fiance and I had a wonderful time staying at this resort over the holiday week. The room was clean, the staff friendly, and the front desk had tons of information on all types of local activities. It's a bit pricey...but that's all mountains. Parking is conveniently close & weather permitting you can ski to the lift right from the back of the hotel. There are loud kids EVERYWHERE so if you're looking for romance it may not be the best. Overall we will absolutely be back. read more

Spent 4 nights here this week: the area is gorgeous and the hotel staff are amazing. We enjoyed ourselves immensly.

We stayed here for 8 days and it was nothing short of perfect! From find second you walk in you feel welcomed. We actually felt terrible because we didn't know they bring your luggage up to the room for you and we didn't have cash to tip so we eventually got some but didn't see him after that. The woman at the concierge desk was the sweetest lady in the world. She would even make a big deal out if it when she saw our one year old son. I remember just before we left she told him "we're going to miss you...name...!!" She remembered his name and that was so nice too! The room was more than accommodating. We had a loft with a bedroom upstairs and an adjoining room with two more beds and it was more than we needed. The deck looking over the mountains, the pool, even the awesome breakfast at the Diamond Grille! All so great! Overall great experience!! read more

Stayed here for the 2023 FIAT Freakout - 40 this past week. We rented a 2 bedroom suite which had a full kitchen, and 2 bathrooms, besides living room and an 8 person dining room table in the dining area, plus a balcony. The room was exceptionally clean, and the staff was very accommodating during our visit. We never heard noises from the hallway, nor the adjacent elevator. Angel assisted us with our meals, and in the bar, Rebecca and Amanda were excellent at their craft. Judy the concierge was very helpful as well (we know where you keep the Dove bars, Judy!). The meals were great, too - the chicken parm was as good as I've ever had, and the steak was done to a turn. Overall, an excellent choice. read more

1. The name... It should be named the Attitash Grand BASE Hotel. Why? It's nowhere near the Summit! 2. It's a family hotel. Nothing fun about it and its a lengthy drive into town. It's probably a better stay in the winter than the summer. But still.. Blahhhhh 3. STALKERS! If you're a young couple trying to get away for some privacy. GOODLUCK! Sue and her twin(the gym lady) will follow you around! This gym lady came outside while me and my super sexy gf were in the pool.. She (the gym lady) thought it was necessary to come outside and wash ONE window in the RAIN! Frigging creeper, should have thrown her in the pool.. Ugh. Reminds me of the Hills Have Eyes movie.. 4. The A/C system was terrible.. Like it would turn on for a second then shut off.. All night.. Good thing I was drunk at least one of the two nights or I would have never slept. It's possible it could have been Sue using some kind of spying machine that caused this. Idk If you're under the age of 95 and want to do more than just breathe on your N. Conway getaway. Hotel itself was very pretty and I believe if it wasn't Covid times would have nice amenities and options. Pool was amazing! Very clean and big. Cafe was open but very limited hours. Restaurant was closed. Room was just okay. Nice to have a fridge and sink (stove and dishwasher too)! However the beds were horrible. Murphy bed and couch pullout. Both were super uncomfortable and I don't understand why a hotel wouldn't have actual beds. It was close to Story Land but next time we'll be going someplace with a real bed. read more

This place is solid. I had a great time coming here with my girlfriend for a ski trip back in February. They make it effortless to get to the slopes by either shuttle, which runs all day long, or you walk right out with your gear to the slopes. We would walk right out, and then catch a shuttle back to the room. They keep your boards in a room, near the door that takes you on a short path to the slopes. The restaurant inside is OK, and it has a bar, but you may find it better to explore the many options around town. The pool and hot tub were nice, heated and clean. I feel like the interior was a bit dated, and the walls are thin. If you're relaxing the day after riding, you'll hear the loud sounds of ski boots above the rooms, and in the hallway. It can be annoying unless you're going to ski every day you're there, shouldn't be too much of a problem. I will be returning here next season. read more

Grew up going skiing every weekend at Attitash in the early 2000's...remember visiting the Grand Summit for a fun alternative from our season long rental property and really enjoying it. Stayed there recently for the first time in 15 years...how times have changed. The staff attempts to be friendly but they are often confused and in the midst of chaos. The pool and hot tub area is very dirty with old beer cans, solo cups and towels left everywhere. The man greeting you when you walk into the pool area could not be more rude. He asked me and my girlfriend to not take a towel because "we are on our last batch and management doesn't want us giving them out...I know it sucks"...so we had to go back upstairs and use towels from our room. Not a big deal but kind of weird and indicative of how the place seems to be run. The food overall is solid and the service at their main restaurant is nice. The saving grace is Judy. She was the woman at the concierge and could not have been more professional, helpful or attentive. If management is reading this please focus on more people like Judy, upgrading your rooms if you are going to charge crazy prices and actually keeping your pool area somewhat sanitary. read more

We just arrived at the Grand Summit Resort this evening expecting to enjoy the 8pm jacuzzi reservation we had booked ahead of time. Upon attempting to enter the pool area, we were denied entrance due to not having a reservation. We called the front desk and were told that we were not on the list. The front desk employee was incredibly unhelpful, unwilling to try and problem solve, and was condescending and unempathetic as it relates to the frustrating experience we were having. Both jacuzzi's were empty (from the view from our room), yet the front desk employee was adamant that she would not try to rectify the situation. We suggested calling the parties who reserved the allotted times to confirm that the appointments would be kept, however, we were told that could not occur with no rational reason as to why. We have been coming here as a family for years, and while I understand Covid has resulted in very challenging issues as it relates to coordinating social distancing this employee did little to treat us as "guests" and was utterly dismissive and unhelpful. I hope this is not the standard that Grand Summit Resort holds. It has not been our experience in previous years. But the lack of customer service or willingness to try and come up with a resolution beyond "call my manager at 8am" was beyond disappointing. Also, the pool was closed prematurely due to some kind of incident. It was supposed to be open til 10p but the cover was on at 7p. read more

Three stars feels a bit rough but the murphy bed insisted on said number of stars. These beds are perhaps positive concepts, but at least at this location fared poorly. Two of us slept on said bed - one 5'9" and 170#, and another 6'2" and over 200#. Otherwise it was pleasant and useful to have a kitchenette and the rare ability to fold one's bed into a wall. The grounds, building/interior and staff were pleasant, friendly and engaging - the staff make the place, IMhumbleO. As a Southerner, opening our second story room window was necessary to cool down; the in-room unit was insufficient. However, we recognize we experience heat and associated opposition such as central air differently. Campus was calm, quiet and pleasant. I wish I had gotten the name of the gentleman who greeted visitors; he was engaging, pleasant, friendly and helpful! read more

The Grand Summit is our go to here in the area of North Conway. We love it here. Lots of trails to mtn bike for free. There's plenty to do. The staff is awesome and the hotel is clean. We are a family of four and always reserve the two bedroom loft. There is plenty of room to spread out. The ski in ski out option is nice. Attitash might not be the greatest but as far as epic resorts go, this place is usually empty which is great. The pool is awesome and always heated. We will return for both summer and winter trips. read more

This Hotel is a no-nonsense place to stay at. The staff is fantastic, and can't do enough for you. It's clean inside and well kept. Why not more than 3 stars? First, there is really no place to eat in there other than a cafeteria that can't handle the amount of people in the hotel properly. It's a mob scene all the time. Second, there is no lounge to have a drink at and relax in, they have no liquor license. We've stayed at this property probably 4 or 5 times over the past 10 years. This most recent stay was definitely the best. Since our stay last summer (which was honestly mediocre)...A new small deli has opened which has reasonably priced options for breakfast and lunch including grab and go drinks and snacks. They've also made big improvements to the pool seating area including a beautiful new fire pit which is lit at night. This was the first year where my kiddos were too old to do Storyland and Santa's Village so we stayed on the property to do the Alpine slide, mountain coaster, etc. A bit pricey for full day tickets but well worth it...so much fun for older kids (and their adventurous parents)! Will def be back again next summer. read more

Like another reviewer said, it doesn't bode well when they block Yelp on their local wi-fi (they absolutely do). This is instantly a sign that the idiot running this place has no business acumen. First - the obvious stuff everyone will notice: The hotel is unbelievably hot and stuffy. Especially the restaurant. It leads me to believe that the owner is too cheap to use/install AC in the common areas. It makes anything but your room completely uncomfortable. The in-room AC does work, but it's tricky. It also resets what seems like every hour, so if you want a cool room, you need to babysit the thing. The rooms do smell like mildew, or something else - I'm not sure what. Not pleasant. I also need to keep remembering that the phrase "family-friendly" translates to "hundreds of screaming kids running around everywhere at all hours of the day and night, and most people who stay here bring on average eight children, who they allow to crawl under restaurant tables and splay out on the stairs while you carry luggage." At least that seems to be what the phrase means at this place. The restaurant food was good but hotel-priced, which we expected. Our server was a bit of a ditz and acted like she had never seen the menu before. The manager had to bring our drinks because she had no idea what she was doing. We chalked that up to training. On the plus side, the more seasoned restaurant staff - manager, hostess, bartender - were all very friendly and accommodating. So overall the restaurant was not bad at all, save for some bad luck with surly teen help, which happens everywhere. Now for the BIG problem. The fire alarms. The place has a faulty fire alarm system - this is according to the front desk and repeat (why?) guests that informed us when we were woken up at 5:30 to screeching alarms. We were then kept awake due to our room being situated near an automatic fire door - that emitted a constant high pitched whine (apparently there are four of these throughout the hotel and they all squeal until reset) and was a tourist attraction to at least 100 kids and guests, who kept activating it and laughing. Apparently maintenance has no idea how to reset these doors. Enjoy! From what other guests told us, the same fire alarm debacle happened in February. If it truly were a false fire alarm, fine - those things happen. If some kid pulled it, annoying, but again, those things happen. But five months of knowing you have a broken alarm system? That's the hotel's fault. Don't stay here. read more

This hotel is great! It's very clean and the staff is very friendly and attentive. We were able to get the large suite and it is perfect for our two families. The fire pit is a great addition by the pool. The kids really loved the heated pool and the adults loved the hot tubs. Our only complaint is that the bar onsite is closed but this is only because of Covid. Besides that minor inconvenience, we highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely be visiting again! read more

Very disappointed. My family visited this hotel with two other families for a two-night stay. We all left after the first night. The entire hotel was hot and stuffy and our rooms were worse. None of us could get the air conditioning to work. Our room also had a terrible, mildew smell that came home with us on all of our clothes and bags. It's a shame because the suites are very big and it seems they do try to keep them clean, but any hotel with carpeting needs to update them often and stay on top of mold/mildew. The restaurant offers free meals for kids, but the food and service were terrible. And they advertise spa treatments, but when my husband called to book me a massage, the front desk said they would have to find out when the masseuse would be available and call him back. He was never called. Bottom line: we were all willing to throw away $200-$300 to avoid staying there another night. read more

We've stayed here multiple times over the years. This year the quality has severely gone downhill. We heard the management changed hands in April 2018. The restaurant and snack bar has closed. So there's no food on the premises at all. Although my girls loved the pool, there were a thousand bugs floating on the top and it wasn't being cleaned daily. We also had a few spiders in our room. It's hard to beat the price for a kitchenette in the room. It's not terrible, but could definitely improve. I hope they get it together soon! read more

False advertising.. The price of this hotel does not warrant the stay. The hotel is very out dated and has an 80's mountain lodge feel. Our A/c turned on and off all night long without us touching it. Unfortunately the broken unit kept me up every night. I called to let the front desk know and they had a maintenance person come up to fix.. But nothing changed. Unfortunately we read all the yelp reviews after booking our stay. Positive feedback.. Fitness center was great. They have a couple treadmills, elipticals, and a spacious lifting weight area. The pool and jacuzzi were a nice treat. However not a great view and a lot of kids running around. One of the fitness center employees was super friendly! She and I talked for a while and I voiced my opinions of what I thought the hotel was lacking. She said she would bring it up to management but I get the impression that all of North Conway is stuck in 80's. They haven't changed and upgraded and don't plan on it. It surprises me because I think if places were to upgrade they would get return visitors but I, like most people probably go once and then never go back because it's not worth the $. read more

Let me begin by noting that I have been forced to write this review using my phone as the hotel has blocked all access to yelp.com via their servers...which says so much about how bad they KNOW their service is. The good, the bad and the ugly: The good: kids eat for free (breakfast and dinner); breakfast in Grill is fresh and decent; rooms with kitchens include all necessities, including a dishwasher; murphy bed is fairly comfortable; bedrooms are spacious. The bad: for the price - we paid $225 per night, we did not receive the value...only real restaurant was not open two nights, when it was open, the quality of the food was poor and the service was horrendous - one, untrained waiter trying to handle the bar and half the floor and another good waitress with an attitude because she was trying to help the waiter and service her own tables. We were at the restaurant for 1.5 hours before receiving our dinners and we had 1 toddler and a baby with us so I had to leave with the baby before getting to eat. To add to it all, the keg lines had not been drained - the waitress admitted to this (and probably never cleaned), so the beer tasted bad and caused intestinal difficulties. Breakfast at the Grill: only one lovely woman taking all orders and cooking...it took 45 minutes for one breakfast burrito and a bagel. NOTHING is open past 8 PM. Rooms were not 'refreshed' with shampoos, toilet paper, coffee, etc. Each day. Website boasts an indoor pool and in-room Starbucks coffee, neither of which is factual. The ugly: toilet was barely cleaned (upon arrival) and never cleaned during our 4 night stay, kitchenette floor was sticky, no bulbs in some of the room lamps, toilet keeps running after being flushed. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I am disabled and require the use of a service dog. My friends who live in the area went to the hotel to check out the size of bathroom for my wheelchair. They informed the hotel of my service dog and they said they don't allow animals of any kind (even service dogs) and will only allow my dog if they absolutely have to. This is ILLEGAL--my service dog is not allowed to be denied access, she is an extension of my wheelchair and for this establishment to BLATANTLY break the law is not okay. We checked out the hotel last year on a bike trip and decided to book it for this long weekend. So far he place is nice. I've stayed in a lot of hotels and I am always disappointed in the gym facilities. This place however I was very impressed with. Plenty of equipment and lots of space. We actually almost bought a quarter share last year but they don't allow pets and the real estate guy was a a bit of a tool. Also you cannot bring our bikes to you room but we did anyhow since we forgot our bike locks and we stored them on the deck since we were on the second floor. All in all a very nice place close to the things in Conway. I will suggest you get something bigger than the studio suite which was fine for us but next time I want a realm bed as the Murphy bed killed my back. read more

My family of seven spent three nights here in July in adjoining rooms. Our third floor rooms were great and had nice views to the north. I like the location away from the sprawl of North Conway and the easy access to the national forest. The staff I interacted with were all friendly and helpful. There were just a few too many issues to make us pause about coming back. While we were there, the pool heater was broken resulting in a frigid swimming experience for my kids. The fitness room was closed for painting and all of the equipment removed, much to our dismay. Some wine or alcohol was spilled in one of the elevators and smelled progressively worse over the next two days. The housekeeping was less than stellar - it was obvious the room was not vaccuumed or the mirrors cleaned. And, although not the fault of the hotel, it sounded like a herd of elephants were running up and down our hall at night. The natural beauty and rural setting provide a lot of potential for this hotel, but it is somewhat lacking in execution. read more

Staying here while taking our little guy to Storyland. We were not looking for anything too fancy, just a nice place for a family who would be gone most of the day. Grand Summit is perfect! Very clean room and grounds. The room is huge and comes complete with a stove, dishwasher, and refrigerator (this was perfect for having a 18 month old. They had even stocked the room with Bananas, yogurt, OJ and milk. The heated pool is fantastic, very big and clean. It's hard to believe the quality of this hotel in comparison to the price. I have stayed at hotels that were 3x the cost and not this clean and lovely. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling with a family. Plenty of dining options close by. read more

We had a great time during our recent visit! It was the first time we stayed at the Grand Summit Hotel, and it happened to be the same week that tropical storm Irene hit the area. Route 302 was temporarily closed due to the flash flooding from the storm so the hotal management offered a free buffet dinner to all the guests! It's a beautiful resort!! We were there as a time share exchange. The staff was very friendly and helpful! I've never stayed in the White Mountains before and been offered free daily valet parking offered. We never took advantage of it, but if you don't want to walk up or down a hill to get your car, the service is available. The daily maid service was a nice change from many of the timeshare resorts we've visited too! Furnishings were in beautiful condition and the decor was very up to date and attractive. The proerty is extremely well maintained and the units are spacious and well layed out. My favorite feature of the Grand Summit was the pool set up. You can actually get into the very large outdoor heated pool from indoors and swim out. That is where, btw, I spent a good part of the tropical storm! There are also very large hot tubs bordering the pool. I had a great time at a beautiful place! I wish I was still there and would be very happy to go back again! read more

Eh. Maybe because I'm here during the off-season, but overall this hotel isn't too "grand." The outside is cute, but the inside is plain and there's little decoration. I didn't have any personal problems while staying two nights, but the hotel does seem poorly built as I can hear TV's on in the rooms while walking in the hallway as well as people outside my room. The hallway floors also feel a little unstable. However, I really do like the gym, great equipment! read more

We had our wedding here May 2015. It was beyond perfect. The hotel is very kid friendly with a pool, arcade and play area. The ballroom easily accomadated our 150 guests with plenty of dance floor. The food was ABSOLUTELY incredible. We went with the buffet option and were so pleased. The staff that helped make our special day happen were truly pleasant people to have. The bartenders, chef, and waitstaff were amazing. Tammy was the wonderful employee who helped us every step of the way. She is extremely hilarious, helpful and encouraging. The charm of this hotel is that it is next to to the mountain. It has a beautiful outside pool and hot tub which has been great both during the day and at night. With that said, there are not that many activities for the children in the hotel and not a lot of food choices in the hotel. We stayed in a double room suite that is lofted. Full kitchen which allowed us to have our breakfast in the room. When we first arrived we entered the room it had not been cleaned. The furniture and beds are a little outdated. The reason for the rating is that neither my husband myself or my children were able to get a good nights sleep as the beds are not that comfortable. read more
