Stayed here on 11/22/25 because my girlfriend & I were taking a scenic train ride and wanted to stay overnight in North Conway to do a little shopping & sight sighting after our train ride. As we entered the office area to check in we both were immediately taken in by the "country charm" and warm homey atmosphere , and the smell of fresh baked cookies was in the air! Sam was at the front desk and gave us a run down of the property and all that was on site (restaurant, theater room, sauna etc.). We loved the fireplace in the lobby, the den area and the entire appearance of the inn. We stayed in the barn in room 218 which was absolutely beautiful, it had an electric fireplace and mantle , king bed was very comfortable and the room was cozy and clean. We had breakfast the next morning in the on site restaurant which was excellent (included in our accommodations) the dining room was amazing, with a huge gas fired fire place and beautiful Christmas decorations , everything was neat and clean and welcoming! We both loved our stay at Merrill Farm Inn and highly recommend it! read more

I was skeptical because there's some weird reviews. But this was the only place available for one night under $500! WE LOVED IT! Farmhouse, cozy feeling. We had a loft room with two queens upstairs and a queen downstairs. Felt like home. I loved all the antique furniture around. There are plenty of places to sit and read or play a game. Breakfast was outstanding. I think the bad reviews were confused when they booked an old farmhouse inn. Staff was super helpful and very nice. read more

This inn is older, yet lovely. We stayed in room 410 with two queens. We enjoyed our stay. The location is along the river and it was beautiful. We got tea and cookies when we arrived, and a delicious cooked to order breakfast with very kind service. This location is stunning along the river front access with the fall leaves, and it is probably perfect in the summer for families. read more

Soooooo.. We lost power so we decided to go to NH to escape the hell of no power or water. I found the place on booking.com. ok price with free breakfast. So charming farm home. With covid 19 I wish they enforced people to wear a mask. People inside in common area with no mask. So I asked for a room with outside entry. I had to sneak in my therapy animal. Opps but another guest had 2 dogs and they were running wild outside. The pool had cloudy water the time I was there. The river was beautiful but no clue where the beach was that they show in the pictures. The food.... Breakfast. One day we had a couple of good choices. I ordered the eggs benedict but wasn't that good at all. I asked for a couple of slices of bacon and they said they would have to charge extra... But the guy just added it with no charge. My son ordered French toast and bacon. The next day menu changed and all I could get was scramble eggs or pancakes. The scramble eggs were gross and looked like a tablespoon size serving of potatoes . 1 slice of bread for toast and small pieces of bacon. My son order chocolate chip pancakes but they just plays chocolate chips on top of really gross pancakes. You are offered coffee or hot tea along with some thing they called orange juice but it was more water than actual orange juice it was absolutely disgusting. The tables were very disgusting we found pieces of bacon in parts of the table as well as crumbs the tables were sticky as well. Dinners- ok cooked steaks with a small scope of smashed potatoes and side veggies no seasoning. I would def try another spot to stay at when going to north conway read more

We decided last minute to stay in North Conway on Saturday night. Every where was booked out or super expensive. We found a room available on Priceline at Merrill Farm. So we booked and went to check in. The room was dated but there was a comfortable feel if that makes sense. The couch and chair in the room were certainly dated but super comfortable. The bed was clean and comfortable. The bathroom seemed clean at first glance but for some people's standards they would be disappointed by water marks on the shower controls. I wish we had more time to explore the grounds because detail was put in setting up seating areas all over the place. There was a back deck that looked like it had great outdoor furniture to enjoy. We did hear that the stay came with free made to order breakfast and that was a bit off. I'm assuming they once offered buffet but with COVID they probably can't any more. So the server did come and offer us 3 options. We chose our option (pancakes, French toast or scrambled eggs with bacon) and within like 4 minutes he was back to drop off. The server was funny with how he addressed how quickly it was ready- almost apologized for taking so long because his mom wouldn't get off the phone. It was funny. The food itself was ok not bad at all just typical hotel buffet like eggs. When I heard made to order I was thinking a bit better. I can't give 4 stars because the dated property and breakfast but it certainly was appreciated to have a clean safe place to sleep and hang out. read more

Came here with my family for a weekend. We had to change the dates due to a storm and they were accommodating. We showed up at 2pm and asked if the room was ready to which we were given attitude like it was the craziest request, not to mention they have the latest check in time for a hotel (4pm). The man at the front desk acted like we knew how to get to the room because when we asked where it was he gave us a sarcastic response. Rooms were beyond out dated. Two pictures on the walls and a head board that was barely even painted. When we got back to go to bed we just hopped in. It wasn't until the second day that we noticed the sheet had a stain so we decided to look at the second bed to find a massive stain that was obviously there for a long time. The breakfast was definitely just heated up in a microwave. We appreciate the free food but would rather pay a little extra for a nice meal that wasn't cold. The server was the nicest part about the experience because the host was horrible. The hotel makes it seem like they have a spa area with a hot tub and sauna. However, you have to reserve a spot for the hot tub and the latest you can go is 730. The sauna is in a separate area. Definitely not what we expected. If you're looking for something cheap I guess this is the place to go. The rooms are so dirty and dusty and customer service is awful. read more

This place is awesome. I think alot of the reviews come from Yelp snobs looking to crush businesses. The room was great, clean, comfortable beds. I slept great. Dated, sure, but this is a country Inn where the main house was built in the mid 1700's, what are these people expecting. Pool, hot tub, sauna, all great. Breakfast, a little touchy. The eggs were a little under cooked, but it was free. Get there early, and go with the yogurt. I'm giving 5 stars because I think some people have given this place a raw deal. read more

I will start by saying that we made attempts to register these complaints with the management (both at check out and in an email survey we were sent) and have heard nothing back , so we feel that we should warn other travelers about our bad experience which the management seems unwilling to acknowledge or fix. My husband, kids (ages 5 and 10) were looking for a quick Labor Day getaway to North Conway and our usual place was all booked (Old Field House, love them). We decided to try Merrill Farm despite somewhat mixed reviews. I made our reservation online and mentioned in the "notes" that our son is immune suppressed due to a transplant and we hair wanted to mention that we would prefer a pet free room. We arrived around 8pm Friday night and the check in was friendly and we were informed our room was in a building around the back. The motel room was standard. It was a bit musty smelling and the bathroom had some hair on the floor etc. we always carry our own Lysol wipes (see immune suppressed kid) so while a little annoyed, we wiped it down and went to bed, we understand it's not the Ritz. We spent no time in the room the next day, returned that night at 8pm after a long, fun day and put the kids to bed. As I went in to take a shower I noticed a HUGE patch of black colored mold on the bathroom ceiling. AGH!! The kids were already asleep so we shut the bathroom door and left as early as possible the next morning. On checkout we mentioned our concerns to the teenager working the desk . Obviously the mold hs been there a while, we mentioned that out child was immune suppressed and you put us in that room?! We don't expect our accommodations t be sanitized but a room without black mold would have been nice. She stated that the manager was away for the weekend (weird on a super busy holiday) but she was calling to let him know right away. After we returned home we received an email survey and filled the same information out. In two weeks we received nothing, no phone call, email, apology. Very disappointed. Stayed for two nights in one of the barn king mini suites with fireplaces. Pros: Very comfortable and clean room. King size bed was great. Had a small little couch with a little coffee table in front of the couch, plenty of drawer space for clothes, closet for coats and boots. Nice size TV. Very hot water in the shower and bath. The Jets in the bath were adequate. Neutral: The shower/spa tub and toilet were in a restroom that is separate from the sink and mirror, which is in the main part of the room. Cons: Not a real fireplace. Still nice, one of those electric heater ones with a faux-fire screen. Was hoping for at least a gas fire place. No WiFi signal in our room. Limited TV channel options. Complimentary breakfast was meat and dairy and egg heavy, and greasy to boot. No oatmeal or fresh fruit, and asking for it one morning (hoping staff would get the hint) there was none the second day. Pretty hard for vegan/vegetarians. read more

Wonderful, caring and professional staff and during our stay they were decorating for the holidays which makes me want to come back again around Christmas with the snow and scenery! This was a terrible inn. After a long day of hiking, we arrived at our room to find no hot water, ceiling peeling, out dated room with loud AC. The rooms come with Spa tubs and people used them at all hours and they shook our room terrible. Not that we could sleep on that uncomfortable bed. Next day. Breakfast, cold eggs, bacon and cold waffles. We sat ourselves, waited on ourselves. Which was a first for us, I mean it would be nice to be served coffee, but no, they give you a receipt to sign asking for a gratuity. For what? I asked for toast, they told me no. I mean they make French toast but no toast. whatever. Just horrible for the area. Not to mention that parents don't watch the kids, put their hands in the scrambled eggs, but guests are supposed to eat this crap! Bernerhof, Inn at thorn hill, Inn at Ellis River and others so much better. The parking is crazy. The dining area in the barn is just horrible. Chairs are falling apart. I wish I could have left, but labor day weekend, so there was no vacancy at other places. but never again!! read more

My friend and I went to eat at the inn's restaurant for dinner, The Barn. It was a phenomenal meal! The waitstaff was very attentive and the atmosphere felt very warm and cozy. Very rustic looking. The food was equally amazing and we will be back for breakfast. read more

So I asked for an early check-in but they said no. I checked in at 4 pm, which is pretty late compared to other places. The person at the front desk was not friendly at all! He was short and put off by my presence. I went to my room which seemed a bit dated but clean. There were a lot of sitting areas around the hotel, but those were disorganized. There was a game room with pool tables and couches/chairs, but it was overcrowded as though no one kept those areas up. So since we got there at 4, we decided to eat at the restaurant that was right on site. The front dest told us they had nothing until 7:45 pm. So we made reservations and waited and when we arrived, the host (who was the waiter and the bartender) said we weren't listed for a reservation. He looked exhausted and seeing that the restaurant closed at 8 pm, I could see why he was upset to see us. Anyhow, he was very nice. However, the menu said a salad with goat cheese, cranberries, walnuts, lettuce and tomatoes. I got lettuce and tomatoes only. The chicken milanese with tomatoes and basil was a grilled chicken breast that was pre-seasoned with powdered spices in a microwave bag. The food was horrible and very expensive. I feel the menu was extremely misleading- listing foods as gourmet meals and ending up with a microwave dinner. I wouldn't have minded if the meal was reasonable, but $25 for an entree is ridiculous. So very disappointed with the false advertisement of their restaurant. I wouldn't stay there again. read more

We stayed in cabin 515, it was a cute, little dog friendly cabin. We had a couple issues while staying there and probably wouldn't go back, but I can't say it was miserable. We've stayed in cabins in the area before and they were far worse. To start off, something was living in the wall, it kept scratching and running around in the wall to the ceiling, this kept us up all night. We also went to take showers in the morning, but had no hot water. Maintenance came right over and fixed it, but none the less....things you don't want to happen when you're paying to stay somewhere. We mentioned the animal in the wall 2x, but no one even flinched when we said this, they actually chuckled.... We also aimed to use the hot tub and reserved our time. Upon entering the room , we noticed a disgusting fish store smell. We looked at the tuba the water was cloudy and felt skimy. We skipped out on using it and returned the key, we also let the front desk know this, but once again they did not seem to care. All in all, I can't say I would recommend it..... read more

Stayed here for our 1st wedding anniversary weekend. Was nice and peaceful place. We had rented a small cabin. The picture on their website of the cabin is what ours looked like. It was a big room with a bed, couch, small table, stove, wood burning stove, refrigerator and the bathroom. There was also a small deck outside with a picnic table. In the morning they served a continental breakfast of coffee, tea, OJ, fruits, muffins english muffins and toast. Muffins were baked fresh at the location itself. Had a variety of them, like lemon filled, peaches and cream, cranberry-orange ,etc.. In the afternoon they served cookies and lemonade. A nice touch. They also have canoes that you can check out for rides along the saco river (we didn't do this) and a heated outdoor pool (didn't avail ourselves of this either) Not a lot of frills, but not bad either. I booked a couples cabin on their website, the cabin stated maximum occupancy 2 adults 1 child. When I checked in the lady told me that 3 people could not fit in the cabin but they would give me a cot for the 3rd person when he arrived a night later. When the 3rd person arrived I requested a cot, a different lady who was on the front desk (extremely rude), informed me that a cot would not fit in the cabin, they had none left and I could pay for another cabin for the night. ($164 plus tax.) She stated there was nothing she could do about it because i booked through a 3rd party. I knew I booked via their website and not a 3rd party. Later I brought over my iPad to the front desk and pointed out that I booked through thru their website and the website clearly stated the occupancy of the couples cabin was for 3 people. The man at the desk agreed that the website was wrong and stated had no solution as the cabin was too small for a cot bed. He then said they would make a bed out of quilts. There was no offer made for the other cabin I could purchase. When we got back to the cabin late at night, there was one bed spread (not quilt and not heavy or soft) laid out on the floor, cutely set up with my daughters stuffed animals and another stuffed animal with a plate of cookies beside it. Another bed spread over it was the blanket. My 5 year old laid in it but it was too short. I rearranged it and it was literally like lying on a hard wooden floor on top of an old dusty carpet mat. I used the pillows in the cabin and made a pillow bed for my self while they slept on the queen bed. I spent a very cold uncomfortable night on the dusty floor. Next morning I complained and they said it was the best they could do. I felt this was not the best as they had already offered to sell me another couples cabin for the night, but not offer it when I pointed out their website was wrong. read more

Worst place to stay... ever! Approved for a noontime Check in. Arrived at 4 pm and the cabin was not ready. I said no problem, I will wait at the pool. The clerk gave us towels and off we went. Pool was disgusting. Filthy edges and the water was green and cloudy. Once we got into the cabin, we opened the bed to see if there were linens. At this point, we noticed that the pull out couch BLOCKS THE DOOR! Not cool. Not safe. I returned to the front desk and was told that there was an absolute zero refund policy. I asked for another cabin and there were none available. I asked to speak to manager. I was speaking to the manager. He was useless and had no authority. He wanted to put us in a room in the barn. It did not have a kitchenette and we had planned to cook all our meals. I asked to speak to owners And was told they weren't there. Over the past 2 weeks my husband and I have sent at least 6 emails and called over 5 times. Nothing. Now I know that 'rustic' means dirty and broken....like the bathroom light in the cabin. I say this place is horrific but if you want to see for yourself, please do but come back here and share what you experienced. Oh by the way, one of the cleaning people offered to move the room around (which was impossible as it was the only configuration possible for the space) She claimed to be a pro at it because she is really good at Tetris. SMH. I'm really good at hiring lawyers so they BETTER return my $600 bucks ASAP. It appears the only responses from these people happens here. I sit and wait. And yes, the fire department was called about the couch. read more

We stayed here during Feb vacation and had a wonderful stay. We stayed in one of their cabins which was extremely cozy, had all the necessities as well as some extras - a great gas stove in the livingroom that warms the whole cabin, frig, stove, oven, micro, cable TV, DVD/VCR player, and 2 nice beds with very comfortable firm mattresses. They had a nice continental breakfast with cereal, fruit, etc and a "cookie time" every afternoon with homemade cookies and hot apple cider. Yum! The motel is close to everything in N. Conway but is outside of town so it isn't hectic. There are dozens of great restaurants nearby. We ate breakfast at Banner's and dinner at the Moat Mountain Smokehouse, and recommend both for good food at good prices. We went snowmobiling and were happy to return to our nice, warm cabin afterward. This is not a fancy place - but I don't like fancy, expensive places. It's a very well kept old inn with nice rooms and modern conveniences. We would love to stay at Merrill Farm Inn again! read more

The last couple years that we've been coming up to North Conway, this is the only place we will stay. Very clean and homey accommodations. The staff is always so fantastic. Disappointed to say the least. We stayed here last year and it was a completely different experience. The first room they gave us was the "fireplace" room...aka a 12" gas wood stove looking contraption. My 6'4" husband hardly fit in the room and did not fit in the bathroom. When we went down to ask if anything else was available we felt like we were imposing on them. They seemed rather bothered. They gave us one of their king whirlpool rooms (believe it or not the same exact room we had last year!) so I was pretty excited. It was amazing last year. Not this time. There was only 1/4 of a roll of TP in the room and no extra rolls. I had to go to the guest bathroom in the hallway to get a roll. My allergies were driving me crazy in the room and when we checked the filters of the AC/heat I was appalled. There had to have been 1/2" of dust built up on both filters. We washed them ourselves in the shower. My husband had to fix the toilet because it wouldn't flush AT ALL. We were out for the entire day and when we got back to the room housekeeping had never come. We had to go ask for our own fresh towels and TP at the front desk and we were handed a pile to carry back to our room ourselves. No apologies, again felt like we were bothering them. Our last night there I wanted to take advantage of the whirlpool tub (especially seeing as we had to pay additional money to transfer rooms), when the shower doors steamed up there were clear handprints all over the glass (so it was never washed from previous guests) and when the jets came on this disgusting SH*T started floating around in the tub. I'm all set. The only reason we didn't leave and go somewhere else was because we would have lost money and not many other places had vacancies. Thoroughly disappointed in our stay and will NOT be returning or recommending it to anyone. read more

Really loved our stay here. We were driving around the park and looking for a good place to stay but we were a little far from Conway and Bartlett and had yet to swing around into the towns. We booked ahead not knowing what we would find. Originally we booked a small cabin for two. When we got to Merrill's Farm Inn we noticed how big and cute it was. We got our room keys with no problem. The lobby was like a main house with a restaurant (or bar, I'm not really sure which because it seemed closed for the day by the time we swung in) and a sitting room and a small section of books you could probably borrow and read. We got to our private cabin and it was adorable BUT we really wanted to have two nice beds. The cabin was obviously supposed to be romantic and for a couple. There was a little fire stove you could light for ambiance and a giant tv and the bed was big and nice and there was a couch with a fold-away bed but it was one of those things that just seemed like it was mostly used as a couch and not a bed. As adorable as the cabin was, we called and asked to switch to a room with two beds. The people at the front desk reminded us that the couch bed folds out but we still asked to switch and were pleasantly surprised by the new room we were given. Our new room was a split room with an extra loft space that had it's own big bed and tv and sink on top of a normal room. This set-up was excellent for us and there was still a couch in the room so it was basically huge. A room like that could easily make two couples comfortable and give them enough privacy if they were staying together. It was really a great set-up. We were just two people needing two beds and I actually loved that the beds weren't next to each other like in most hotels (though I have seen on the site that Merrill's does have rooms with normal beds right next to each other if you're looking for that). The only thing with the loft is you have to be careful going up the stairs if you have bad balance. There's a railing along the wall to hold onto but there is nothing keeping a person from falling off the stairs. I had no problem and completely loved the loft bed. Our view was nice too because we could open the window and feel that we were on a second floor looking out over the farm/inn. The breakfast was a good start too, just basics. The pool was nice, a decent size, and early in the morning I saw people cleaning everything so they are very thorough. Every bit of the staff was friendly and great, from the lobby to the cleaning staff to the breakfast bakers. We even had someone come out to our loft room and make sure we were satisfied right after our switch (which we definitely were). I would like to add that everything in the loft room was newer and cleaner than in the cabin. The beds especially were very nice and comfy in the loft room. The bed in the cabin didn't have the big fluffy comforter and the mattress might've been different but I didn't actually sit on it so I can't really say. There was no weird smell in the loft room (like you get with some hotels because they are older and in need of renovating and replacing things). The bedding was nice, the flooring/carpeting was nice, everything looked freshly painted. The cabin had an outdoorsy feel with wood flooring and it really felt like a cabin. The loft room had a the opposite sort of feel. So you can pick what you're going for whether it be a new home feel or an outdoorsy romanticized b&b sort of cabin experience. The bathroom was normal, nothing weird or off-putting and nothing that made it stand out. There was just a good variety going on here and a lot of room choices. Well I stayed here last year on the 4th and had one of the loft rooms in the barn! Those were newly renovated and not bad at all! The lobby was outdated for sure but I didn't spend time there so that was fine and the River access was a good location w picnic table! Well I did not have the same expierence this year! I got a crappy old loft room not renovated! Safety concerns for kids on stairs no railing! Musty smell! Outdated all around! They put no money into this place and it's too bad because it's a good location! I def will not be staying here again! I can't comment on food as I didn't eat here! read more

Place is falling apart. Rooms are outdated as hell. Fridge doesn't work. Fire pit outside has cheap mismatched chairs. And you have to buy your own wood if you want a fire. Place is just dirty and gross. Water pressure is whacked. Lights In the barn are half working and half are dead. Pretty sure things havent been dusted since 1991. Likely mold in the rooms. We all had allergies waking up. Food was bland. Service was unfriendly. Not impressed with anything. Whole place needs to be on Hotel Hell and get a huge renovation. We stayed in a loft room and the ac didn't reach the loft area so we couldn't even use the bed up there and we tried to call management to switch to a cabin but they have horrible attitudes so I never even got a chance to ask . For the past 5 years, Merrill Farm has been the place I stayed when I dropped off to or picked up my kids from their summer camps. I have booked lofts in the barn building (6 people can stay there comfortably). I love the cabins (510 being my favorite) and thanks to the little kitchen and outside grill, I enjoyed not having to go out to restaurants for every meals. I applaud the changes made by the new management and their willingness to make your stay a good one. The restaurant being a most welcomed change: after 6-7 hour drive, who wants to go to the crowded North Conway restaurants? Being from NYC, I come back to Merrill Farm for the rustic, home like feeling (on-site made cookies, muffins, and furniture, game room...) as well as the river where I love to meditate on the large rocks. read more

Stayed there during Labor Day. Couldn't find a better place for that price! The lady at the counter even gave us a 10%off the room, because the only one remaining was the biggest!. She offered us to have a smaller room the day after so we could save some money. Gave us some tips for Mount Washington, offered us to move our luggages from the 1st room to the other and was really nice! Room was confortable (even the mattress), cute (antiques), convenient ( fridge, DVD player, AC), clean and huge! Even the smaller room had 2 double beds and a sofa bed (which we used watching a movie with the dvd player). We were happy to use the outdoor tables to eat and drink a bottle of wine. Good breakfast included. Watch out for "cookie time", you'll fall in love with that! Had Wifi in rooms. Probably better in "public areas" or the closer you get to the main building... Will definitely stay there again if going shopping (5 min driving) or hiking (around 30 minutes from Pinkham Notch) read more

To the owner(s), I really hope you take these reviews seriously. I really loved the Inn and it's history. Beautiful place with mountain and Saco River view. We stayed in a loft room with 3 beds. It was spacious however the room is in need of a facelift. Scratches, marks, and dents in the walls. Stained carpet and the carpet near the fridge looked like mold has set in , not good. We did run into the maintenance manager and he explained that the room we were in was scheduled next to get redone. No toiletries in the bathroom, had to request. Bed was comfy. Asked for extra pillows. Bill got right on that and I appreciated . Our breakfast was included with our stay. It was decent, organized and clean. We didn't try dinner but they did offer it. There's a jacuzzi but you have to reserve a time. which was fine. We were looking forward to it and the first night we were told it wasn't heating to the proper temp so we could not use. Second night, we got to use it but it was lukewarm. Finally on third night, it was a perfect temp. Here's my reasoning for a low rating and do yourself a favor, really read the other reviews before booking. I always give a compliment when one is due and am a very nice person. I don't like to give a bad review but feel it is necessary to share. I booked over the phone with Sam. He was friendly and helped me to decide what room would be the best for us. He took the time to tell me stuff to do around the area. There was also a young lady at the front desk one morning who was very nice and helpful. I didn't get her name but she helped me trade in a ski ticket for another mountain the kids wanted to try. She said she had to run it by the owner who wasn't there but would contact them to make sure it was okay. Within 10 minutes, she got back to me and it was all set. When I checked out , I asked Sam for a printed bill. I was in a hurry to get on the road and looked at my receipt later that day. I noticed an error ,an overcharge , so I called and spoke to Sam. After we went over it a few times , he agreed something wasn't right and told me someone from customer service would have to call me back to straighten it out. I heard nothing more that day and decided to call the following night. I spoke to Bill whom I had met during our stay. I pleasantly let him know my name and started to explain we had just stayed there when he rudely said I know exactly who you are! This is where it goes downhill quick ! It wasn't said in a nice way and he was so condescending . He was going on and on with such a bad attitude like who I was I to question my bill. I explained I had talked to Sam and I was told I would get a call back but never did. Bill stated I didn't know you wanted a call back and what is my issue. Again, he was really condescending and arrogant. I explained Sam and I had talked and again he rudely interrupted me and said enough about Sam , Sam works for me and I don't know what your problem is. I asked if he was the owner and he said no and to just leave it at that. Very mean and very short! After being on the phone for a good 20 minutes with him and then a call back from him because people were checking in, he finally saw and agreed to what I was just trying to explain I was overcharged by $40. It was wicked just to get to that point. He would cut me off when I would try to explain instead of listening. Then started to say because I purchased extra ski tickets, which they do offer at a reduced price then what you would pay at the ski lodge, I caused the confusion! Wow, way to go Bill. Make your guests feel like the burden. I get it mistakes and things happen. Just like the jacuzzi not working , stained carpets , etc. but you didn't see me get nasty with you over it. Being kind goes a long way. I originally planned on going back in the summer with family and friends but not anymore. Bill did apologize at the end of our torturous phone conversation and I did get my refund but I was seriously mentally exhausted after that. The funny part of it all was , I was going to suggest taking the $40 I was overcharged and giving it to the employees of the Inn to split or use for lunch, snacks, etc. I guess it's true, one bad apple can spoil the bunch! read more

Stayed here this past weekend with my boyfriend. Quaint inn good local. The rooms were in good condition quaint and homey. (We had one with the hot tub which was nice!) We were comfy and liked the location. TV/ with basic cable was nice after skiiing. Only wish the room had a coffee maker. Because we would have liked more tea after skiing. Breakfast was ok. Just bagels and cereal and coffee. But, it was nice to be able to grab on the go before snowboarding. Would stay here again. Good price and comfy and close to mountains and restaurants. If you are looking for fancy would suggest elsewhere. read more

This was our first time at Merrill Farm Inn and we were quite satisfied, overall. All staff we came into contact with had a genuine smile and asked if we were enjoying ourselves or did we need anything. This is a very nice property that is well-maintained. The location is excellent, in between Conway and North Conway (maybe 5 minutes to L.L. Bean and Settler's Green). They offer a variety of rooms and cabins, with several cabins right along the river. We were in a large room, in the 400 building, it had a queen bed in a loft above, with a king & sofa-bed downstairs. There was also a sink upstairs, with the full bath downstairs. A refrigerator + 2 LCD TV's rounded out the amenities (oh, a folding card table as well, which came in handy). Noise and atmosphere: - Although the building we were in was close to Rt. 16 it was set back a bit and plenty quiet. - The entire property was dressed up for Christmas and they really went all out with lights outside and ornaments all over inside each building. The lobby was tastefully festive. Food: A buffet breakfast was included each morning from 7:30 - 10:00 (on weekends anyway). This included OJ, coffee or tea, eggs, pancakes, french toast, sausage and bacon. One thing missing was fruit. If there were some grapes around that would have added some value for me. The quality was good, and everything was fresh. I think they offer 4 or 5 menu items normally, as part of the included breakfast. The buffet was there for the holiday weekend. They do also offer a dinner menu. Minor stuff, keeping this from a 5-star review: 1. Specific to the loft room - no window or separate thermostat, so all the heat went up. The main room did have a ceiling fan, however, it was about 16 ft up with no cord reachable to adjust it's speed. It was set to high only, which was too much for those on the main floor, leaving the loft rather hot at night. For summer use there's one a/c unit in main room that would likely leave the loft area hot and muggy. 2. The towels were really thin. I'm not looking for plush Westin towels, but something in between would have been nice. 3. Upon check-in (@ 2:45 PM) we were told there would be chocolate chip cookies available from 3:30 - 5:00 in the lobby area. After dropping our stuff in the room we returned at 3:35 and.... no cookies! All gone. I guess there were plenty of people hanging around right at 3:30 to get one. We were told there would be more later, but it would take some time. read more

We stayed at the Merrill Farm Inn in August (2019). Totally disappointed with facility. Even though I requested an accessible room with a king bed when making reservation, we got a room with two queen beds and was not accessible. When we checked in and asked about an accessibile room, they said they had no idea we needed the accessible room. The people at the desk acted as if they had no idea what we were talking about or what an accessible room was. So we asked if we could use a shower chair; again they acted as if they did not know anything about a shower chair. Since we were with a wedding party, Merrill Farm required us to stay for two nights. Asked if we found another place to stay, would they refund us the next day. Staff at desk said they would have manager call us. Staff then called and said they would have a shower chair in the morning. Well we never got a call from manager nor did they get us a shower chair for either day. I guess once we had stayed one night, they had us for the second night. Sunday morning after the Saturday wedding, we were asked at checkout if all was okay. We said far from it and we were told manager would contact us. Has been two weeks and have yet to hear from them. Facility was sub-standard. There was mold on the bathroom floor outside of tub. Drapes were falling off curtain rod. Some furniture (in particular chair) was not unusable; concern of falling when sitting. We should have been refunded part of our high rates. All in all, would not recommend anyone to stay at Merrill Farm Inn. read more

The price is right for a family inn. Their "continental" breakfast includes cereal, oatmeal, bagels, home-made muffins, toast, fruit, coffee, tea, etc. And their afternoon "cookie-time" was a definite plus. The room was a good size, we even got a room with a whirlpool tub! Which was a good thing because my back needed it after sleeping on that mattress. Only complaints I have about that place: the need new matresses, the didn't have enough towels at the pool for everyone, & couldn't leave the windows open 'cuz you could here every little noise in the parking area and the street. Despite that it was well worth the price paid - convenient to all attractions (Mt. Wash., N. Conway, Lost River, etc.), canoes available for playing on the Saco, and did I mention "cookie-time"?! read more

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Merrill Farm Inn this past weekend for a weekend getaway in North Conway. The hotel was very clean and so very homey feeling! It didn't feel like a "hotel" whatsoever! This was really the best part of our stay. There was a sitting room with games, and one with a fireplace. There was a hot tub that you could pay $5 for the half hour and have the whole thing to yourself as well as a sauna that was open to use. In the summer there is a pool, but we did not see that. And of course, there was complimentary breakfast in the morning consisting of fresh baked muffins, cereal, toast, and bagels. It was delicious! Overall, we had a very good time at the Merrill Farm Inn and was so very reasonably priced! read more

4-5 stars based on value. Loft room was great for us. Two separate living areas and three queen beds. Quaint B&B feel with older (but not worn) decor. Comfy spaces to hang outside of room (nooks). This would be a good place for a family reunion. Breakfast was good. fresh muffins, cereal, breads ( I saw the owner making them up). Coffee and juice. Location is just south of outlet shopping. Plenty for kids to do too (golf putting, pool table, games and puzzles. Nice to sit in front porch and watch cars go by. read more

Came here with my girlfriend for a getaway night in North Conway. When we originally got to our room, we discovered that the wall was partially leaking due to the heavy rain/ice storm outside. We immediately went downstairs to the front desk and spoke to one of the management staff, Sue, and explained the problem. She apologized and immediately corrected the problem by offering us an even bigger room in the next building over at no additional cost. The hospitality was extremely welcoming and made you feel right at home from the minute you stepped foot through the door. The room was clean, well-maintained (had just been freshly painted), and it was a nice quiet place to spend a night. We enjoyed the continental breakfast in the morning in the "breakfast room". The homemade (on site) muffins were absolutely delicious and the coffee was nice and fresh. Sue, once again, made us feel right at home and her hospitality made us feel as if she was welcoming us into her own home. Overall, this is a great place to spend a night or weekend when visiting the North Conway area. We will definitely be back! read more

We recently spent a couple days at this old fashioned place, and it was a hoot. This is not an upscale modern place, instead it is a place with tons of character, lots of history, and very nice people running it. We rented a loft for the 2 nights we were there, and spent some time exploring all the nooks and crannies there. We went to the bar and had a beer, engaging with the bartender and other guests, we ate the breakfasts, which were simple but hearty. The front desk folks were helpful and friendly, and we want to come back in the summer to enjoy the pool and New Hampshire in the warmth of summer. Beds and room was clean, though the heater did raise a ruckus, as it was very cold while we were there. Just a nice old place that deserves to exist for another couple hundred years. If you go, spend some time in the lobby and the little rooms off the lobby, I found them pretty interesting. read more

The woman who answered the phone tonight was incredibly condescending and sarcastic when I had a couple of questions about their inn. I had just been online and was literally about to press send on booking several days at Merrill Farms Inn. I let her know that if she was already being rude and talking to me like I was foolish for having questions, why would I want to stay there? I could still hear her yelling and arguing with me when I went to hang up on here. Very poor customer service. I would really hope this woman was not the owner. It's too bad because I know people who had just stayed there and liked it. read more
