We were there Saturday, May 2nd. We didn't know they were open for the season yet, but driving by we noticed a sign that said "warm fireplace." We really liked the place. I have gotten salmon on many restaurants, but never as good as the town docks. I have gone to some pretty soon called great restaurants in NH like the Copper Door in Bedford only to be disappointed. The town docks is a fun place to go, staff is very friendly and go out of their way to please you. The chief there should go around to the other restaurants and teach them how to cook salmon that favors the palate. All I can say is if you like salmon then go these sit for a great experience. read more

The burgers are good. The atmosphere is good. Prices are typically high as most of the lakes region. Some items are good while others are inconsistent. Four of us got homemade lemonade and none were the same , two were cloudy, two clear & tasted like sugar water, 2 had 1 wedge of lemon, 1 had a complete half of lemon, not cut up and another one had a whole bunch of pieces. The bill is delivered on a worn grubby flip flop, that flip-flop really takes the place down a notch IMO , if they were brand new looking or at least clean it would be tolerable. I don't hate the place. I'll probably go again and have a burger outside , but there's better places nearby. read more

This place is awesome! We came for ice cream last night as my son says (and I agree), " this is my favorite ice cream place!" He loves the lemon ice cream and I'm here for the sometimes-hard-to-find peppermint stick. It was late near closing and our order was initially skipped but we got it sorted out. This place is also solid for a meal and a hang out, and accommodates all ages fairly well. There's a sand area for kids to wander and play in, and seating options of all sorts. At peak times it can get busy so be prepared to wait for a table. Their cocktail list is pretty fun and includes some cocktails in sand pails and other buckets which you get to keep after! Stopped by here on a lake day at Meredith and it didn't disappoint. The place was packed on a sunny Saturday but there was no wait since they have so many seatings. Both a table for two and bar seating was available so we chose bar seats. The seats are mostly all waterfront facing the Meredith Bay. The service is fast and wonderful although they are busy. The drinks were perfect for a sunny afternoon. They also have fun drinks on the menu and some bucket drinks as well. We got a fishermen platter to share and everything hit the notes. Scallops were so good! If I have one thing to complain, that would be the portion of the platter for the price. If you are in the Meredith area of Lake Winni, this is a must! Perfect spot with tons of outdoor seating right on the lake. The view is spectacular. Stopped in for lunch. I had the ranchy chicken salad wrap and it was outstanding. I could only eat half, it was big and filling. It came with home made potato chips that were really thick and crunchy. The service was excellent. Lots of staff (nice to see these days) and very attentive. Even the manager, Kim, stopped by to check to make sure everything was good. After ordering we were told our food would be brought to our table. It wasn't and by the time we finally checked to see about it, it was cold. The romaine in my sandwich was old and wilted. We were staying in Meredith for a vacation and had to come to Town Docks. We went on a Friday night around six pm. We boated up & were able to secure a spot on the docks after waiting for about twenty minutes. We got a picnic table by the water easily. Our server Peter was super friendly & very attentive to our party of five requests. Drinks were good & food was delicious. The menu had lots of options if you don't want fried seafood. Around 8:30 pm or so, fireworks were set off which was really cool. A perfect way to end our vacation at Lake Winnipesaukee. read more

My very first time visiting the lake and thankfully So lucky to have a wonderful friend give me the grand tour via boat for a few days. On my last day there, he took me to Town Docks. We had a great boat ride and a beautiful walk waiting for it to open. We had steamers a couple of cocktails and more lobster than we could even begin to finish! Everything fresh and fantastic including the service. We were one of the first people there and by the time we ordered our food the place was full. We enjoyed watching all of the boats, had a visit by a mama duck and a bunch of babies, and truly had a blast. It is definitely a social gathering place as we continuously ran into people that stopped to visit and say hello. Will definitely have to come back and visit-hopefully they will have some live music at some point. read more

While driving thru Meredith, we decided we needed to stop for something to eat. Our host suggested the Town Docks Restaurant. We were seated on the back deck with a lovely view of Lake Winnipesaukee. It was the perfect day to eat out on the deck. Being from Maryland, we had to try a bowl of their New England Clam Chowder, they claim it has made them famous and is a house recipe. It was very good, but a little on the thin side for us. Two of us had the bowl of Lobster Corn Chowder. That was an instant hit. It was thick and loaded with lobster, corn, potatoes, sherry and cream - just really yummy. We all shared an order of onion rings - very big and crispy. Brett, our server, was welcoming and friendly. Eating on the dock of the bay ... Town Docks is good, for the view and avoiding pier pressure. Bottom Line Up Front: The Pros: The food was decent, the staff was helpful and happy, the view was worth the trip. The price is reasonable and the portions are just about right. They also serve ice cream! The Cons: Parking is limited (get there early or prepare to walk) and it is only open during the summer months. This place was recommended to us. We started with the corn dip which was good, but was a little bland. We then had the Chicken Caesar Wrap, Ahi Tuna Salad and sweet potato fries. The food was as expected for a dock restaurant and when paired with a good beverage, hit the spot. The highlight of the meal was the ice cream; if you are looking for homemade ice cream, this place was great. You walk up to the window to order, there are a variety of flavors, my favorite was Peppermint Stick! If you are in the area, it is worth the visit. Enjoy! read more

We went tonight (Tuesday, July 2nd) to Town Docks. Arrived about 6:40. There was a line. Things moved VERY SLOWLY. We noticed that there were always empty tables but that people were not automatically seated at the empty tables. After waiting till 8:00 (!) we were almost the first in line. At that point the hostess told us that although we would be seated soon, there was "a little hiccup" in the kitchen and that even if we ordered immediately upon being seated, it would be over an hour before we received our food. We chose to leave but she was not going down the line to tell the others. ??? We asked why she had not told people sooner and she said she had not known. We motioned to all the others on line and she just shrugged. Obviously this did not concern her. We were outraged by this lack of consideration. We will not be trying Town Docks again. read more

The town docks at Meredith, New Hampshire is a very hospitable relaxed and enjoyable hang out for any summer visitor to Lake Winnipesaukee. My wife and I we're just passing through and stopped here for lunch. The service was very quick and efficient and in a 10-minute span we had three people come check on us to make sure we were being well taken care of. My wife has a lobster roll sandwich which was amazing and I had the buffalo chicken wrap which was so juicy and mouth-watering it was unbelievable. We saw little kids playing in the sand, live music starting at noon which is great for a weekday, and lots of people having fun in the outdoors. I would definitely encourage anyone who's looking for waterfront dining in a relaxed atmosphere where you could wear flip-flops and a t-shirt to come check this place out. read more

The lobster roll was one of my favorites! It was loaded with Maine Lobster in a delicious light celery Mayo mix. I enjoyed every bite. The roll could have been toasted a little bit longer. I'd stayed away from this place for a few years as it can get pretty crowded on weekends and past experiences were not great. But this time I was pleasantly surprised by the food although the service was really lacking. There was a brief wait to get in but we were seated on the upstairs porch and enjoyed the busy and scenic view. I would have rated this meal a 4 or 5 if not for the slow service even though we weren't in a hurry. Drinks took about 15 minutes to arrive and our server informed us the bar was a bit backed up. Drinks were OK if a little pricey. Our lunch was ordered when the drinks arrived and we waited and waited. Our waiter was clearly quite busy taking care of other tables, but when flagged down after half an hour of waiting, her response was off-putting. She said it had been "34 minutes" and the kitchen was running 30 minutes implying this wasn't really late. So I'm supposed to feel good about that? Either the kitchen was backed-up or the restaurant was short-staffed Coincidentally she then immediately returned with our food. My pulled pork sandwich was barely warm (leaving me doubting her excuse) although it was tasty. The fish tacos were generously stuffed with mahi-mahi but were loaded with cole slaw, making the sandwich soggy. It would have been better on the side, or perhaps another indication the food sat too long before being delivered. We also had a chicken caesar wrap that was OK. Other than that the slow service the food was pretty good. Come on Common Man- You can do better. read more

Staff was rude and useless. After 30 mins we asked how much longer and our wAitress she said "I don't know". We waited over an hour for our food and saw other larger groups getting food before us. When asking the staff about the wait our waitress repeatedly told us ticket times take 45 mins but it had already long passed 45 mins. When I noted that a larger table who's order she took after ours was already served, instead of apologizing she snapped back and said they placed their order first (despite us seeing visually otherwise). When I called her out on that she finally gave the excuse fried food took longer (but it still took longer than the 45 mins she said). After seeing me confused she finally admitted she submitted our ticket 5 mins later after our apps. The manager also refused to talk to use directly but asked a neighboring table if everything was ok. Clearly they didn't care serving us knowing we were tourist who wouldn't come back. We actually come to this area annually from CA. We were not compensated anything and only given excuses and called wrong. Not to mention we were a table full of POC being served by a predominantly white establishment where other white families were seated after us were fully served and checked out before we even got our food. Not a great feeling. I honestly would've been fine with all the excuses of being understaffed if it didn't get delivered with so much attitude and defensiveness from our waitress. I was just curious about our food. In the end we asked for our food to-go. Came home to half full boxes of two fish and four fries. It's unfortunate we had such a rude experience since the food is actually good. Not worth being told I was wrong by a teen and not shown respect from an adult manager. Upset since my experience with staff at other establishments around the area has been wonderful. DO NOT get the fresh lemonade. From the parking area you can take a stroll along the boardwalk/docks to get to the restaurant. It was a tiny bit confusing as to what gate/door you entered to get to the restaurant, but the staff directed us to the inside or outside dining area. The service wasn't the most attentive, but it was relatively prompt when we asked for anything and the servers were friendly. The fried foods were cooked excellently! The clam strips were tender and the batter was light and crispy. I definitely had enough for later! I didn't try the tacos, but was told they were delicious! What a wonderful place to eat! We rented a boat for the day for our vacation trip to New Hampshire, and we were delighted to find that Town Docks Restaurant has boat parking nearby. We were seated quickly, which was easy since there are many seats available. The food was absolutely amazing. No long waits, and everything came out correctly. The fish and chips were great but not perfect, however the standout meals were the burgers. We didn't try the ice cream place next door but that's definitely a great option for desert. Located right on the lake, Town Docks Restaurant is a casual, fun place. It is primarily arranged out in the open on sand. Umbrellas are available at every table. The small bar area is a great place to sit. The "Steamers" are perfect - hot, sweet, and served with water and butter. My partner had lobster corn chowder. He said it was delicious. The drinks are fun, with a lot of specialty cocktails. Choose a bucket or pineapple as your container and pick your poison! The burgers and lobster rolls seem to be the most popular choices along with soup. They had a GF by as part of their GF menu (rather small). They did a great job with checking about cross contamination. Two suggestions - have some chips that are prepackaged so dips can be offered GF. Also try some GF chowder recipes. read more
