In the infamous words of Toby Keith, I love this bar. We come here every summer. Town Docks is all about the atmosphere. The outdoor beach bar right on the lake feels like a little summer vacation, which is about right as they're only open in the summer. It's laid-back, scenic, and the perfect place to settle in whether you are putting a boat in at the dock, or just coming to watch. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is super relaxed, and it's one of those rare spots where locals, tourists, and people just passing through all mix together. The food is decent, but honestly, that's not the main reason you come here. The exception: the lobster roll is fantastic and worth the market price. Generous portions. The food, the atmosphere, and the service here are well worth it. You sit at picnic tables and it has a cute beachy vibe. We didn't get cocktails because we were driving but they had some tasty looking ones walk by. My daughter had a huge portion of Mac and cheese. It was Kraft brand and you know what? Perfect. That's what kids want. I had a salad with lobster and my husband had a lobster roll and homemade chips. The amount of lobster on both of our plates was crazy. VERY generous. We didn't feel bad about our $90 lunch one bit. It was worth it. In the middle of our meal the manager checked in on us and I always like that. I went too town docks with my group, the overall experience was pretty good. My lobster roll was good though I would recommend bringing an appetite. My cousin said his buffalo wings were good. Plenty of sauce, got all over him, and the meat was tender. My other cousins review of virgin watermelon bowl tasty like a watermelon slushy, but not thick. Service was nice liked the guy we had.I do not know if the comments about uncooked food were real but I did not have that problem. The band was amazing ambience, really enjoyed that. This place is awesome! We came for ice cream last night as my son says (and I agree), " this is my favorite ice cream place!" He loves the lemon ice cream and I'm here for the sometimes-hard-to-find peppermint stick. It was late near closing and our order was initially skipped but we got it sorted out. This place is also solid for a meal and a hang out, and accommodates all ages fairly well. There's a sand area for kids to wander and play in, and seating options of all sorts. At peak times it can get busy so be prepared to wait for a table. Their cocktail list is pretty fun and includes some cocktails in sand pails and other buckets which you get to keep after! I have gotten salmon on many restaurants, but never as good as the town docks. I have gone to some pretty soon called great restaurants in NH like the Copper Door in Bedford only to be disappointed. The town docks is a fun place to go, staff is very friendly and go out of their way to please you. The chief there should go around to the other restaurants and teach them how to cook salmon that favors the palate. It was a great place being on sand and right next to the water it was a great atmosphere. The food was amazing I got the Buffalo wings they were great just the right amount of sauce and very tender, someone else in my group got a one pound lobster roll and they said it was good, someone else in my group got a watermelon bowl he said it was like a watermelon slushy. The service was very good the guy was nice. When I went there was a band of singers and musicians they were really good and relaxing. It was pretty expensive but well worth it. Stopped by here on a lake day at Meredith and it didn't disappoint. The place was packed on a sunny Saturday but there was no wait since they have so many seatings. Both a table for two and bar seating was available so we chose bar seats. The seats are mostly all waterfront facing the Meredith Bay. The service is fast and wonderful although they are busy. The drinks were perfect for a sunny afternoon. They also have fun drinks on the menu and some bucket drinks as well. We got a fishermen platter to share and everything hit the notes. Scallops were so good! If I have one thing to complain, that would be the portion of the platter for the price. Went to town docks for dinner and ice cream tonight. Dinner was amazing great service, great food and ambiance then the ice cream ruined my night. We both ordered and watched the server write it down. My friends ice cream came out 30 seconds later. After waiting 15 minutes we watched two teenage boys (who the girls gave ice cream to for free) got their frappes and were standing by the window while the girls flirted with them. Two other employees were just on their phones visibly in the back during this entire time. 5 minutes later I asked about my frappe and the lady told me just a second. 5 MINUTES AFTER THAT she came back and told me they didnt have the flavor left and what else could they get me. The frappe then took another 7-8 minutes to come out. Overall 30 minute ordeal to not even get my order I had paid for. Completely unacceptable service read more

Always a fan favorite when we're in the area. Nice that you can come by boat. Tough when you eat outside, there's always bees flying around, but again... You're outside, and on Lake Winni, so can't really complain. Food is always consistently good. Lots of options. Relatively quick service. read more

We got ice cream and first they didn't even greet us and just were annoyed by our presence. God forbid you actually have to do your job. I got a SMALL OREO and they gave me cookie dough which it's whatever and i was very polite and said that it was supposed to be oreo. She then proceeded to say "This is cookie dough" with an attitude and then i said yes and it's supposed to be oreo. She then gave me a nasty look and then aggressively slid it across the counter. They didnt even apologize or acknowledge their mistake. IT WAS A KIDDIE OREO! I honestly didn't feel like fighting with them so i just dealt with it. Then they forgot the frappe that we ordered. The girl taking our order was talking and not writing anything down. All of them were talking the whole time. These kids really don't have any work ethic anymore. My family has the bagel buisness and we always are attentive and acknowledge our mistakes when we make them. I hope they learn to be respectful and don't get mad when people don't want the wrong order.. Hopefully next time we go the service will be better read more

The burgers are good. The atmosphere is good. Prices are typically high as most of the lakes region. Some items are good while others are inconsistent. Four of us got homemade lemonade and none were the same , two were cloudy, two clear & tasted like sugar water, 2 had 1 wedge of lemon, 1 had a complete half of lemon, not cut up and another one had a whole bunch of pieces. The bill is delivered on a worn grubby flip flop, that flip-flop really takes the place down a notch IMO , if they were brand new looking or at least clean it would be tolerable. I don't hate the place. I'll probably go again and have a burger outside , but there's better places nearby. read more

We were there Saturday, May 2nd. We didn't know they were open for the season yet, but driving by we noticed a sign that said "warm fireplace." We really liked the place. The waiter was pleasant, attentive and efficient . We had fast service as well. The food was excellent. My favorites were the pulled pork and potato salad. Got to speak to the manager, Kyle, also very pleasant, on the way out. We go to Meredith often in summer and are planning to visit Town Docks more often. read more

Went as I used to i loved the place today i went and ordered banana split no banana i said cherry and vanilla ice cream i could not believe she gave me half a scoop of vanilla and broje it up and put cherry 2 and that's it I took it because I was so mad but won't go again disappointed in i paid and got nothing really how could they do that they did. If you are in the Meredith area of Lake Winni, this is a must! Perfect spot with tons of outdoor seating right on the lake. The view is spectacular. Stopped in for lunch. I had the ranchy chicken salad wrap and it was outstanding. I could only eat half, it was big and filling. It came with home made potato chips that were really thick and crunchy. The service was excellent. Lots of staff (nice to see these days) and very attentive. Even the manager, Kim, stopped by to check to make sure everything was good. This is part of the Common Man group and their attention to detail does not go unnoticed. I will be back the next time I'm in the area. read more

We were staying in Meredith for a vacation and had to come to Town Docks. We went on a Friday night around six pm. We boated up & were able to secure a spot on the docks after waiting for about twenty minutes. We got a picnic table by the water easily. Our server Peter was super friendly & very attentive to our party of five requests. Drinks were good & food was delicious. The menu had lots of options if you don't want fried seafood. Around 8:30 pm or so, fireworks were set off which was really cool. A perfect way to end our vacation at Lake Winnipesaukee. read more

After ordering we were told our food would be brought to our table. It wasn't and by the time we finally checked to see about it, it was cold. The romaine in my sandwich was old and wilted. What a wonderful place to eat! We rented a boat for the day for our vacation trip to New Hampshire, and we were delighted to find that Town Docks Restaurant has boat parking nearby. We were seated quickly, which was easy since there are many seats available. The food was absolutely amazing. No long waits, and everything came out correctly. The fish and chips were great but not perfect, however the standout meals were the burgers. We didn't try the ice cream place next door but that's definitely a great option for desert. I feel like all I have to say is gluten free lobster roll. Mic drop, end of story. It's such a challenge to find a good lobster roll, let alone it being a gluten free option. My very first time visiting the lake and thankfully So lucky to have a wonderful friend give me the grand tour via boat for a few days. On my last day there, he took me to Town Docks. We had a great boat ride and a beautiful walk waiting for it to open. We had steamers a couple of cocktails and more lobster than we could even begin to finish! Everything fresh and fantastic including the service. We were one of the first people there and by the time we ordered our food the place was full. We enjoyed watching all of the boats, had a visit by a mama duck and a bunch of babies, and truly had a blast. It is definitely a social gathering place as we continuously ran into people that stopped to visit and say hello. Will definitely have to come back and visit-hopefully they will have some live music at some point. read more

While driving thru Meredith, we decided we needed to stop for something to eat. Our host suggested the Town Docks Restaurant. We were seated on the back deck with a lovely view of Lake Winnipesaukee. It was the perfect day to eat out on the deck. Being from Maryland, we had to try a bowl of their New England Clam Chowder, they claim it has made them famous and is a house recipe. It was very good, but a little on the thin side for us. Two of us had the bowl of Lobster Corn Chowder. That was an instant hit. It was thick and loaded with lobster, corn, potatoes, sherry and cream - just really yummy. We all shared an order of onion rings - very big and crispy. Brett, our server, was welcoming and friendly. The town docks at Meredith, New Hampshire is a very hospitable relaxed and enjoyable hang out for any summer visitor to Lake Winnipesaukee. My wife and I we're just passing through and stopped here for lunch. The service was very quick and efficient and in a 10-minute span we had three people come check on us to make sure we were being well taken care of. My wife has a lobster roll sandwich which was amazing and I had the buffalo chicken wrap which was so juicy and mouth-watering it was unbelievable. We saw little kids playing in the sand, live music starting at noon which is great for a weekday, and lots of people having fun in the outdoors. I would definitely encourage anyone who's looking for waterfront dining in a relaxed atmosphere where you could wear flip-flops and a t-shirt to come check this place out. read more

Eating on the dock of the bay ... Town Docks is good, for the view and avoiding pier pressure. Bottom Line Up Front: The Pros: The food was decent, the staff was helpful and happy, the view was worth the trip. The price is reasonable and the portions are just about right. They also serve ice cream! The Cons: Parking is limited (get there early or prepare to walk) and it is only open during the summer months. This place was recommended to us. We started with the corn dip which was good, but was a little bland. We then had the Chicken Caesar Wrap, Ahi Tuna Salad and sweet potato fries. The food was as expected for a dock restaurant and when paired with a good beverage, hit the spot. The highlight of the meal was the ice cream; if you are looking for homemade ice cream, this place was great. You walk up to the window to order, there are a variety of flavors, my favorite was Peppermint Stick! If you are in the area, it is worth the visit. Enjoy! read more

The lobster roll was one of my favorites! It was loaded with Maine Lobster in a delicious light celery Mayo mix. I enjoyed every bite. The roll could have been toasted a little bit longer. The service could have been better and the chairs in the dining room are uncomfortable and dated. It's very casual and laid back atmosphere. We went tonight (Tuesday, July 2nd) to Town Docks. Arrived about 6:40. There was a line. Things moved VERY SLOWLY. We noticed that there were always empty tables but that people were not automatically seated at the empty tables. After waiting till 8:00 (!) we were almost the first in line. At that point the hostess told us that although we would be seated soon, there was "a little hiccup" in the kitchen and that even if we ordered immediately upon being seated, it would be over an hour before we received our food. We chose to leave but she was not going down the line to tell the others. ??? We asked why she had not told people sooner and she said she had not known. We motioned to all the others on line and she just shrugged. Obviously this did not concern her. We were outraged by this lack of consideration. We will not be trying Town Docks again. read more
