Had a craving for turkey before turkey season thought this place was great. Service was awesome and the ambience was just as you expected. Kind of Cracker Barrel but still kind of fun.

Today we visited Harts Turkey Farm Restaurant in Meredith, NH, and was pleasantly surprised by the extensive menu. They offered a wide variety of appetizers, seafood, steak, and pasta dishes, but of course, as a turkey restaurant that has been open for 71 years, their specialty is turkey. The menu featured many unique dish options, so I decided to go with the classic turkey dinner, served with a side of butternut squash and coleslaw. My daughter ordered the turkey leg with squash and rice pilaf. The cornbread, homemade carrot pickled dip, and saltine crackers were very tasty. Our waitress seemed a bit confused and asked for my daughter's ID when we ordered a mocktail, even though we explained that mocktails don't contain any liquor. We ordered a blueberry and fruit punch mocktail, which was great! Our waitress mentioned she was new and had to look at the menu to write down our order, which made me glad I asked her to repeat it. I specifically requested all white meat turkey and if you don't ask for it, they'll serve a mixed portion. There's a $2 upcharge for white meat only, which seemed a bit odd given the abundance of turkey options. While the prices are on the steeper side, the portions were just right, which means no leftovers and we left full. We didn't order dessert, but they have at least six different types of pies, along with cheesecake and ice cream. There's also a quaint gift shop filled with jewelry, sweatshirts, homemade jams, jellies, honey, maple syrup, toys for kids, and more. Overall, it was a great experience, and I might stop by again for dinner next time.

I stopped going for a few years as quality had seem to go down hill. Decided to give it a try this year and went twice this weekend was very happy. Mashed still seams to be different than it was years ago but meals were enjoyable. Both servers were very present and attentive. Main dinning area is a bit dated but that is par of their charm trying to stay as close as they can to what they have always been.

This was my 1st time coming here. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Our waiter Seth was very personable and immediately offered drinks and brought snacks We got Shepherds turkey pie and Turkey pot pie. The onion rings were 100% on point. I've never had Carrot relish it was a nice change for an appetizer. We sat by the window and people watched as the motorcycles drove by for Bike Week. We wanted to take our leftovers to go. Seth asked if we were on a motorcycle and offered us smaller containers so we could take it with us more easily. We will definitely come back again Plenty of parking and a large bar area and dining room Don't assume you can't get service it's just the tourist traffic !! I'm so glad we stopped !!

Hart's Turkey Farm has been a family tradition for generations. We visited as kids, brought our kids, and now we're bringing the next generation with us. We even remember the live turkeys from way back when! The atmosphere still has that nostalgic charm. A large print of Norman Rockwell's "Freedom from Want" greets you before the dining room, and the walls inside are lined with turkey platters--classic and cozy. We've appreciated menu updates over the years, like more fish and vegetarian options, though it now feels a bit too extensive, which may affect consistency. Service began with Hart's traditional carrot relish and saltines, plus their famous maple cornbread, soft rolls, and butter--just as we remembered. As for the meals: The broiled haddock (served on spring mix) was a bit dry, and the greens didn't quite work, but the whipped potatoes and butternut squash were tasty. The turkey croquettes were unexpectedly bland. The NY sirloin smothered in mushrooms and onions looked great and was well-received. The turkey Parmesan was an interesting twist. Fish and chips on the kids' menu was a surprise but unfortunately underwhelming. The star was the Turkey Gobbler sandwich--stuffed with turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, lettuce, and mayo. It was flavorful and satisfying, and almost everyone wanted a bite! Bottom line: when you're at a turkey farm restaurant, order the turkey--unless you're a pescatarian or vegetarian, of course

It was my first time at Hart's Turkey Farm, despite living in New Hampshire for 20+ years. This is the restaurant where every day is Thanksgiving! I knew I would be passing through Meredith so I was pleased to see they have online ordering for takeout, including Apple Pay which makes it so easy from your phone. My order was ready in about 20 minutes, and I picked it up at the gift shop desk right inside the front door. My experience inside the restaurant was brief, because I only went in to use the restroom and to grab my order. My impression of the interior is that it's old school and very much a place one's elderly parents would like, homey and cozy and probably unchanged in many years. But I will tell you: this place is immaculately clean. The restroom was shining and spotless. The front door was gleaming and had no fingerprints. (I ALWAYS take notice of the front door of any place I go to, whether the handle is sticky or there's grubby fingerprints all over it) Even the massive parking lot was freshly paved and looked bright and beautiful. A lot of care goes into to this place. The food? It was fine: a nice box of cozy beige food, although a bit bland. The stuffing was kinda mushy and wet, and I needed to add a good sprinkling of salt over the whole thing. But the cleanliness of the restaurant is a marvel.

Perhaps the most famous of all of the good restaurants in Meredith, Hart's has been here for close to 70 years. We seated in the bar area which is huge with lots of seating choices. Yes the place feels a bit dated, but is cozy. The turkey Caesar Salad wrap was fresh and tasty. The Turkey Salad sandwich was over-sized. Yes they know how to make delicious turkey.. Service was friendly and prompt.

Went for the first time in 22 years- one of those destination restaurants- Turkey 1000 ways. I liked the hummus appetizer plus the cornbread and cheese/pretzels they offer. I ordered a Reuben sandwich which was outstanding. The seasoned fries and coleslaw accompanying the sandwich were both tasty as well. Worth a return trip.

This is a lovely restaurant that sits alongside Meredith Bay on Lake Winnipesaukee. There are a number of seating choices including bar, high top and conventional tables, many with views of the lake. This time of the year, the views of the snow-covered frozen lake are gorgeous. I wish I could say the same thing about our dinner, which frankly was a disappointment. The menu includes a good variety of starters, appetizers, salads, handhelds, and entrees. Two of us ordered the Flat Iron Steak. I realize this is usually a chewier cut of meat, but this was so tough it was inedible. Our server and the manager both could not have been nicer in terms of how they handled this as I returned mine and was quickly brought a different dinner- a French Dip sandwich. This was tasty but there was more bread than roast beef. The other person chose to keep her flat iron streak, but I could tell it was very difficult to cut and chew. Another ordered the Chicken Milanese Salad which included arugula, peppers, roasted tomatoes and olives in a balsamic dressing. The Parmesan crusted pan fried chicken came over-done but that meal was well-liked. The service and the ambiance were stellar.

A Must-Stop in New Hampshire!!…read more We were exploring New Hampshire from California and happened to pass by Surfside Burger Bar -- and from the moment we saw it from the outside, we knew it was going to be something special. The outdoor snow globes that u could dine in immediately drew us in, and the inside was warm, cozy, and intimate in the best way. But what truly made our experience unforgettable was Andreea. She was our waitress, bartender, and honestly the heart and soul of the place that day. She was taking care of everything -- serving, cleaning, managing the bar -- basically a one-woman show. Yet despite juggling so much, she made us feel completely welcomed, comfortable, and cared for. Her warmth, kindness, and genuine attentiveness added something magical to our visit. This meal became a memory we'll carry forever, and so much of that is because of Andreea and the way she brought the whole place to life. We highly, highly recommend Surfside Burger Bar to absolutely everyone -- whether you're a local or just passing through like we were. It's a must-stop, and Andrea is a huge part of what makes it so special.
