Legendary for a reason! To round out a perfect girls' trip to New Hampshire, we stopped for dinner at the one and only Hart's Turkey Farm. This was my first visit, and you can tell it's a legendary spot just by the parking lot! I tried their special relish with crackers, which was a little too "relishy" for my taste, but the French onion soup was absolutely AMAZING. Every bite was packed with flavor, and I'd stop in just for that! The cornbread and rolls arrive in a bag and were delicious too. I couldn't finish my turkey dinner, but it was excellent warmed up the next day. Had an amazing dinner at Hart's Turkey Farm last night. Everything was honestly great from start to finish. I had the prime rib with a loaded baked potato and onion rings, and the prime rib was an absolute 10/10. Cooked perfectly and easily one of the highlights of the meal. I also ordered the Lake Breeze Punch, a pineapple, peach, and strawberry mocktail, and it was legitimately one of the best non-alcoholic drinks I've ever had. Even the little extras were great. I'm normally not a fan of carrots at all, but somehow I absolutely loved their carrot relish! We also really enjoyed the cheese and crackers they brought out. What really made an already great night even better was our waitress, Liv. She mentioned that she was relatively new, but you never would have known it. She was absolutely outstanding, friendly, attentive, personable, and just perfect throughout the entire meal. Great service can really make a dinner memorable, and Liv definitely did that for us. I highly recommend Hart's Turkey Farm. We'll absolutely be back the next time we travel to the area, and we really hope Liv is still there because we'll definitely be requesting her again! My parents have been trying to take me to Hart's Turkey Farm for three years now and it was finally able to happen last week. Now, technically I did come here in 2024 but I was violently ill (this had nothing to do with them, it was vertigo) so I was stoked to finally sit down and give Hart's a chance. This place has a very, very, very strong "New England Vibe" to it and it's definitely a comfortable environment. I live in LA now so restaurants that look like this are far and few between. This massive restaurant has a gift shop, multiple huge rooms with seating, and a pretty large menu with all the turkey goods (and other things) you could possibly want someones mother to make you. I wanted to order what this place is known for so I ordered a small turkey plate that came with stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, and an order of poutine on the side. Let's get into my thoughts. Turkey- The turkey was solid enough. Turkey isn't exactly the most flavourful meat on the planet so as long as its cooked, it's going to taste like turkey and I have really no complaints there. Mashed Potatoes with Gravy- The mashed potatoes and gravy tasted so much to me like what we were served in school for thanksgiving that I thought one of my old teachers was going to write me up for wearing a hat at the table. Was it bad? No, but it certainly didn't give me much to go "wow, this is so good" at. Stuffing- Eh, it was fine, but not something I need again. Poutine- This is really the punch in the gut for me. My poutine came out first and as you can see from the photo, it's missing what literally makes it poutine as they straight up just didn't put gravy on it. Like, someone looked at the french fries with cheese curds on top and went "yeah, this seems right". Needless to say this was bad. As a proud Canadian, I died inside a little. The worst part is my brothers poutine came out minutes later with gravy on it, like, huh? Overall, Hart's Turkey Farm Restaurant seems like a small town place for big families. My experience here wasn't great and I can't see wanting to come back here on future trips to New Hampshire. The staff here was super friendly and the restaurant itself was a cool place to be, but the mediocre food was just not it. We were in Meredith for Laconia Bike Week for 13 days. During that time, we ate at Hart's Turkey Farm 4 times, hands-down our favorite place here. It was the first dinner stop we made, and the last before we left. During that time, I ordered the Turkey Leg Dinner, the Turkey Parmesan, Sautéed Turkey Livers, and the Small Turkey Dinner with dark meat. My dining partner ordered the Medium Turkey Dinner with dark meat, Turkey Meatloaf, and a couple other things I don't remember. All of our dinners were excellent. Stuffing was delicious, cranberry sauce, and old-school baked potatoes. Yum! He absolutely loved the meatloaf, I guess his favorite. I loved everything, but the turkey livers were probably my favorite, only because it's something you never find on a menu anywhere. It's a lot of food. The portions are generous, and by the time you have the carrot relish they serve first and the maple cornbread (both complimentary), which is absolutely delicious, I know I was full every time. He had dessert twice, a cobbler and the chocolate mousse, and loved both. The theme of this restaurant is turkey. Turkey everything! I cannot get enough of this place. Came for lunch and got seated right away. Hostess was friendly and took care of us right away. Our server wasn't far behind since he took our drink requests quickly as well. He was friendly, patient and maintained good eye contact. I ordered the turkey broccoli Alfredo, my husband ordered the turkey dinner with white meat. First off, the carrot radish/dip thing they serve on crackers are so incredibly addicting. I'd order a jar but I was sure it wouldn't make it to the car. Our server came back with bread and the corn bread is to die for. It's very sweet (I'm guessing maple?) and very soft and crumbly. Hubby said the bread rolls with butter were also good. I do appreciate they give you options and don't force people one type of bread. As for the main course, I almost wish I had two stomachs because they turkey Alfredo was delicious. Unfortunately I couldn't eat it all since they give you a lot on a plate. Last Wednesday my wife and I decided to give Hart's Turkey Farm a try while we were up in the lake's region looking for the foliage. The result came in as a mixed bag. Our server was polite enough but distracted. While he got our orders quickly he forgot to bring the glass of water I asked for with our iced tea. We never got asked for refills on our tea which would have been nice since the glass they used was maybe 12 ounces and packed with ice. No bargain at $4.25 each! We found certain things were very good like my onion soup and our butternut squash sides. But both our main dishes were underwhelming. The turkey croquet appetizer at $7 (just one) missed the mark. My wife's small turkey dinner had a huge amount of stuffing under the sliced turkey that obviously hid the amount of meat that came with the meal. My turkey Marsala had lots of mushrooms but the sauce might well have been turkey gravy. Our dinner rolls arrived in a bag almost at the end of the meal. So we skipped dessert. The small side room we were seated in was nice and relatively quiet given the sound coming from the main dining room. As we were leaving a huge tour bus pulled into the parking lot. Absolutely kindred! What a homely destination. Love a family owned place serving up comfort food. Friendly staff and abundant menu options with tons of turkey inspired dishes as well as other things. Food was overall decent and I enjoyed it but was not blown away by anything in particular. I will say it was nice to begging with a Parker house roll, cornbread, and homemade carrot relish and crackers--interesting! Similar to an Amish pepper slaw. Turkey was good. Absoloutley awful....i went last week for lunch hoping my previous review was a one off. Sadly I was wrong, started with turkey soup....it was microwaved and had an off tasting "fattiness" to it. I wonder what the dinner rolls and cornbread were served in a white paper bag.....microwaved..... I ordered a turkey dinner; gravy, Mashed, pickled beats, stuffing and cranberry sauce. The pickled beets were Absoloutley disgusting, you can can see in the photo they were discolored. Everything was microwaved, oddly hot, and tasted Like crap. They offered a wide variety of appetizers, seafood, steak, and pasta dishes, but of course, as a turkey restaurant that has been open for 71 years, their specialty is turkey. The menu featured many unique dish options, so I decided to go with the classic turkey dinner, served with a side of butternut squash and coleslaw. My daughter ordered the turkey leg with squash and rice pilaf. The cornbread, homemade carrot pickled dip, and saltine crackers were very tasty. Our waitress seemed a bit confused and asked for my daughter's ID when we ordered a mocktail, even though we explained that mocktails don't contain any liquor. We ordered a blueberry and fruit punch mocktail, which was great! Our waitress mentioned she was new and had to look at the menu to write down our order, which made me glad I asked her to repeat it. I specifically requested all white meat turkey and if you don't ask for it, they'll serve a mixed portion. There's a $2 upcharge for white meat only, which seemed a bit odd given the abundance of turkey options. While the prices are on the steeper side, the portions were just right, which means no leftovers and we left full. We didn't order dessert, but they have at least six different types of pies, along with cheesecake and ice cream. There's also a quaint gift shop filled with jewelry, sweatshirts, homemade jams, jellies, honey, maple syrup, toys for kids, and more. This was my 1st time coming here. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Our waiter Seth was very personable and immediately offered drinks and brought snacks We got Shepherds turkey pie and Turkey pot pie. The onion rings were 100% on point. I've never had Carrot relish it was a nice change for an appetizer. We sat by the window and people watched as the motorcycles drove by for Bike Week. We wanted to take our leftovers to go. My wife and I stopped in after going to Wier's beach. We had a wonderful experience. The service was polite and funny. The seating area had a large collection of platters and plates decorating the walls giving no a very nice home feel. The food was superb! Holy cow, talk about an abysmal experience. We were taken right away, they weren't too busy for dinner table if 4 two adults two kids. It took 15 minutes to be greeted by a waiter which is never a good sign. We ordered drinks and water which took 30 minutes to arrive. I had to take our youngest to the car because 3 hours in the restaurant was way too much. I never got that second drink. And it had to be 80 degrees in there, no air conditioning or ventilation. It was my first time at Hart's Turkey Farm, despite living in New Hampshire for 20+ years. This is the restaurant where every day is Thanksgiving! I knew I would be passing through Meredith so I was pleased to see they have online ordering for takeout, including Apple Pay which makes it so easy from your phone. My order was ready in about 20 minutes, and I picked it up at the gift shop desk right inside the front door. My experience inside the restaurant was brief, because I only went in to use the restroom and to grab my order. My impression of the interior is that it's old school and very much a place one's elderly parents would like, homey and cozy and probably unchanged in many years. But I will tell you: this place is immaculately clean. The restroom was shining and spotless. The front door was gleaming and had no fingerprints. (I ALWAYS take notice of the front door of any place I go to, whether the handle is sticky or there's grubby fingerprints all over it) Even the massive parking lot was freshly paved and looked bright and beautiful. A lot of care goes into to this place. The food? It was fine: a nice box of cozy beige food, although a bit bland. I used to come here as a kid with my family but couldn't remember much about the restaurant but was able to recognize the turkey platters on the wall. It's been over 30 years-maybe 40? That's how long this place has been in business! They recently had an accident where a car drove into the restaurant so they are under construction but don't let that stop you! Despite the construction and minimal noise the dining room was spotless as was the bar area. We were a group of 5, some getting meals or a sandwich with me only having an appetizer. Most of the time I come here is summertime and it's always spot on in the summer. I love the wood decor and turkey plates on the walls. I request no gravy on my potato because there is enough on the plate without it on the potato too. Pre-meal you get carrot relish and saltines, and they sell jars of it in their attached gift shop. I almost always grab a jar on my way out. They also give you homemade dinner rolls and cornbread- yum! These can also be purchased in their gift shop if you want more to take home.
