This was the worst experience you could imagine. So I went for lunch at noon. I was the only one in the place, so I was seated in a room by myself. Another party came in; seated in a seperate room and third person eventually joined, also in a separate room.... Turkey soup was nasty, tasted Like turkey fat and grease. I order the small turkey dinner, "mixed." Turkey was microwave and disgusting, should have known they were cooking turkey by noon, stuffing has one texture (gloop) and no flavor. Mashed potatoes seemed "real" but the gravy was tasteless and most likely from a mix and microwaved. The "cold pickled beets" had two different colors and were Nasty. "Dinner rolls" was one roll and o e cornbread served in a paper bag to disguise the microwaving of said rolls. This was one of the worst meals I have ever had in a restaurant: it was nasty, disgusting and borderline inedible: do not waste Your time. read more

Holy cow, talk about an abysmal experience. We were taken right away, they weren't too busy for dinner table if 4 two adults two kids. It took 15 minutes to be greeted by a waiter which is never a good sign. We ordered drinks and water which took 30 minutes to arrive. We weren't getting the warm and fuzzies considering we were already 45 minutes in and hadn't had a beverage. We then ordered the Turkey buffalo dip and two bowls of French onion soup. This took an additional 30 minutes. In fairness I will say both were very good. We then ordered dinner. It took about 45 minutes to arrive. In the meantime we had ordered another round of drinks that never came. When we asked several times in between the waiter going MIA he just kept smiling and chuckling as though it's funny. Finally our food arrived, no drinks. Turkey tips were hard and chewy only half edible. My wife got the turkey dinner she liked it, gravy on the mashed potatoes definitely not made from scratch it looked and tasted like a packet of McCormack. The kids meals were okay. I had to take our youngest to the car because 3 hours in the restaurant was way too much. I never got that second drink. And it had to be 80 degrees in there, no air conditioning or ventilation. Needless to say, this place is a tourist trap that is covered by a long tradition and local status that keeps the doors opened. They offered a wide variety of appetizers, seafood, steak, and pasta dishes, but of course, as a turkey restaurant that has been open for 71 years, their specialty is turkey. The menu featured many unique dish options, so I decided to go with the classic turkey dinner, served with a side of butternut squash and coleslaw. My daughter ordered the turkey leg with squash and rice pilaf. The cornbread, homemade carrot pickled dip, and saltine crackers were very tasty. Our waitress seemed a bit confused and asked for my daughter's ID when we ordered a mocktail, even though we explained that mocktails don't contain any liquor. We ordered a blueberry and fruit punch mocktail, which was great! Our waitress mentioned she was new and had to look at the menu to write down our order, which made me glad I asked her to repeat it. I specifically requested all white meat turkey and if you don't ask for it, they'll serve a mixed portion. There's a $2 upcharge for white meat only, which seemed a bit odd given the abundance of turkey options. While the prices are on the steeper side, the portions were just right, which means no leftovers and we left full. We didn't order dessert, but they have at least six different types of pies, along with cheesecake and ice cream. There's also a quaint gift shop filled with jewelry, sweatshirts, homemade jams, jellies, honey, maple syrup, toys for kids, and more. Mashed still seams to be different than it was years ago but meals were enjoyable. Both servers were very present and attentive. This was my 1st time coming here. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Our waiter Seth was very personable and immediately offered drinks and brought snacks We got Shepherds turkey pie and Turkey pot pie. The onion rings were 100% on point. I've never had Carrot relish it was a nice change for an appetizer. We sat by the window and people watched as the motorcycles drove by for Bike Week. We wanted to take our leftovers to go. Seth asked if we were on a motorcycle and offered us smaller containers so we could take it with us more easily. As for the meals: The broiled haddock (served on spring mix) was a bit dry, and the greens didn't quite work, but the whipped potatoes and butternut squash were tasty. It was my first time at Hart's Turkey Farm, despite living in New Hampshire for 20+ years. This is the restaurant where every day is Thanksgiving! I knew I would be passing through Meredith so I was pleased to see they have online ordering for takeout, including Apple Pay which makes it so easy from your phone. My order was ready in about 20 minutes, and I picked it up at the gift shop desk right inside the front door. My experience inside the restaurant was brief, because I only went in to use the restroom and to grab my order. My impression of the interior is that it's old school and very much a place one's elderly parents would like, homey and cozy and probably unchanged in many years. But I will tell you: this place is immaculately clean. The restroom was shining and spotless. The front door was gleaming and had no fingerprints. (I ALWAYS take notice of the front door of any place I go to, whether the handle is sticky or there's grubby fingerprints all over it) Even the massive parking lot was freshly paved and looked bright and beautiful. That's how long this place has been in business! They recently had an accident where a car drove into the restaurant so they are under construction but don't let that stop you! Despite the construction and minimal noise the dining room was spotless as was the bar area. We were a group of 5, some getting meals or a sandwich with me only having an appetizer. The French fries were tasty but, unfortunately, that's where the good review ends. We were excited about having turkey and since we were at a turkey restaurant, we were expecting greatness. Sadly, the turkey was tasteless and rubbery. The gravy was also lacking. The powder packet gravy is actually better. The presentation was good and the amounts were generous, but the food was just lacking. We travel full time and usually find some of the best food each area has to offer. I've been coming here since I was a kid and the only time it's disappointed me was when I was here in the dead of winter. Most of the time I come here is summertime and it's always spot on in the summer. I love the wood decor and turkey plates on the walls. The service is always fast and efficient and friendly, no matter the season. My go to is always the same- the small turkey plate, all white meat, with whipped potato and butternut squash. I request no gravy on my potato because there is enough on the plate without it on the potato too. Pre-meal you get carrot relish and saltines, and they sell jars of it in their attached gift shop. I almost always grab a jar on my way out. They also give you homemade dinner rolls and cornbread- yum! These can also be purchased in their gift shop if you want more to take home. The small turkey plate along with the carrot relish and crackers and the roll and cornbread is enough to make me borderline uncomfortably full, but it's so worth it because side it's so good and a rare treat just a few times in the summer. read more
