You're really immersed in the camp vibe, from the decor to the waiters calling themselves Counselors, and even the music selection is spot on. Apple Cider Marg was good, couldn't tell there was any booze in it. Very sweet. BBQ ribs were good, wish there was more sauce on them or on the side. Ribs were moist and fell off the bone and had the perfect char. Fries were the big double battered ones but came out cold and had little salt on them. Pickles were delicious. Coleslaw was good, not that saucy and perfect tang and crunch and good portion. Baked beans were meh, kinda thick and on the dry side. Ok flavor but I couldn't get past the mouth feel. Corn bread was dry dry dry and tasted like dense flour - no flavor. Fried chicken was heavily battered, I ended up taking a lot of it off. Wish it had more flavoring as a whole dish, it all kind of melded together. Cheese sauce was supposed to be gouda but you could hardly tell, it was ok though. The chive mashed potatoes could have used some garlic or chives, there seemed to be none in there. They almost tasted like instant mashed potatoes. The one random Apple and pepper slice on top kinda threw me off, wasnt sure what their purpose was. The green beans were seasoned and cooked perfectly! Cheesecake was their seasonal flavor, lemon with raspberry drizzle. It was DENSE. Very good and the crust was heavy and amazing. For $10 it was a decent, shareable slice. Waiter, John, was FANTASTIC. Like other Common Man restaurants, they offer free cheese and crackers. The ambiance was casual and hip. The drinks exceeded our expectations and were reasonably priced. We tried the blood orange drink, mule cider, and the margarita special, all of which were delicious. For our meal, we ordered the BBQ ribs, mac and cheese, and the Nashville fried chicken sandwich. My in-laws live in Meredith and we have been to Camp many times. We've always enjoyed the rustic theme and the service, as well as the comfort food. Tonight however, the experience wasn't great. I have to admit, the restaurant has been going down hill for a few years now and I think this trip will be our last. This area is almost always busy on the weekends, so I will not complain it taking a while to get our food. However, when it did arrive it was cold. Not only that, but my burger was borderline tasteless! To make matters worse, the rum and coke I got was probably the weakest I've ever had. I'm sure this review will go so deaf ears in regard to the owner/upper management as they own just about everything in NH, but I will no longer continue going to a restaurant that keeps raising their prices and lowers their standards. read more

Went to Camp for apps and beers, left pretty disappointed. Ordered the shishito peppers and Lobster corn dog. The lobster corn dog came out very burnt and the shishito peppers came out raw. A manager checked on our table and offered to cook the shishito peppers as he noticed they were under cooked. The peppers came back to our table cooked more however they were dripping in oil and lacked any flavor. The lobster corn dog was so burnt it was bitter. 1st off, letting us free to get our own slices of block cheese and crackers is dangerous because we went back again and again. Almost getting full off of that because it was so dang good. Mild yet somewhat buttery type of cheese with great table crackers. Instantly hooked. Ambiance was great with fun decor and even a fireplace. The place was separated into different quadrants and had to walk around to see all the decorations. The haddock with the crumbles was excellent and even the sides. Ribs were okay but better to try other things. Someone had what looked like a hot skillet with fajitas on it but didn't see that on the menu anywhere. What a fun spot! Super original menu in a "campy" atmosphere, with unique cocktails to match the food and ambiance. Definitely at the top of the food chain when it comes to the always increasing NH chain of "Common Man" restaurants. They could replicate this one anywhere in the country and have a hit on their hands! Service was wonderful. And while we didn't take advantage of it, it was "Wine Wednesday," with half off all bottles in the off-season. Too bad they didn't offer a few higher-end bottles to choose from. Was in Meredith NH for a two night stay. Didn't realize it but most restaurant in the waterfront Meredith area are owned by Common Man. The first night went to Camp as we got in late and just wanted to walk somewhere. So, we went to Camp. Sat down and our server got out drinks. Meanwhile we looked over the menu. We both decided on Chicken Pot Pie. We got a family style salad. Our drinks came and My Cosmo tasted like straight Vodka. I asked my daughter who had been a bartender for years to taste it and she said yuk. I asked that the server take it back and I got a tropical drink which was much better. The Bruschetta came and was not very inspiring. Basically, tomato with some sprinkled cheese. Our salad came and was delicious. The Balsamic salad dressing was super delicious. You can also get a refill on the salad. You can help yourself to cheese and crackers. The cheddar cheese was super delicious...very crumbly. Had dinner here before heading back to NJ, and it was like putting the star on the Christmas tree because it was a great end to a weekend trip in NH. It lived up to its description of being an Adirondack-style with a summer-camp theme. We were greeted with "Welcome, campers! I'm your camp counselor, Emily!" and it set the tone for a joyful meal. Every square inch of the place was decorated with love and whimsy, from the carved table tops to the upside down canoe hanging over the bar. It was already decorated for Christmas, which made the place all the more cozy. The menu is as fun and special as the place! For example, there's something called moutine, which was mac n cheese topped with gravy like poutine. They also elevate simple items, like fried chicken. We came here because of the novel concept (a return to summer camp!), but we left very much impressed by the delicious food and creative decor! I ordered the Ultimate Margarita to start (any drink that has the word 'ultimate' in it is very likely to be a winner...). It was big. It was strong. It was, indeed, ultimate. No regrets. The Camp Crackers were our appetizer of choice - the term "crackers" may be a big misleading, as this was more like a flatbread pizza, but it was absolutely tasty (and huge in size - it came out on a giant longboard!). Get it with bacon - bacon is never a bad decision. The main course is really where it was at though. Two words: Buttermilk Chicken. The menu really points its readers towards this item (per the giant star beside it), and I was glad I didn't ignore their not-so-subtle hints. The combination of seasoned fried chicken, spiced apples, gouda sauce, and cheddar mashed potatoes was absolutely delightful. So many of my favorite flavors (mostly CHEESE) made their way into this dish, and I shamelessly gobbled up every last crumb. If I came back, as much as I might want to try something else... I have to say, I would have a hard time not ordering this again, it was just that good. My only regret is that we ate so much in our first few rounds of food that we ran out of room for their signature s'mores. The atmosphere here, as you might expect from the name of the place, was perfectly nostalgic, outdoorsy, and filled with fun references to those good ol' summer camp days. Do be warned that they don't accept reservations (which sometimes makes me a little nervous, especially in a touristy area like this) - but we somehow managed to get in on a Saturday night without a wait at all, by coming a little bit off-hours (we came a bit before 6 PM - if we had come any later, we definitely would have had a wait). My fondest memories as a child were attending a summer camp in the Adirondacks in update NY. So there should be a special place in my heart here, but this place somehow feels fake with its over the top kitschy rustic decor. Like many I have mixed feelings about The Common Man restaurants. They are generally well run, offer pretty good food and friendly service, but usually could be better. We sat at the bar and had friendly and responsive service from the two bartenders. Our meal was pretty simple- a chicken sandwich and a Caesar salad. The sandwich was just OK but over-priced. The salad needed more dressing which was readily provided. Entrees are mid-teens to mid twenties and are mostly comfort style cooking. There's only a few sandwiches available including a $17 hamburger (really?). There's a good but over-priced choice of micro-brews served in a smaller than a pint looking glass (with too much head= a short pour). Cheese and crackers were not available until we were leaving. I'd recommend the other C-Man restaurants in town first- Lago and Lakehouse or the other independent choices in the area. read more

The restaurant decor and vibe was excellent, lots of camp themed decorations and 70's light classic rock. The bar area was full but not rowdy. The food was excellent! We got the special which was a chopped BBQ rib sandwich and my wife got the fried chicken which was their specialty. DELICIOUS. I would 100% get the chicken next time. It's finally happened. I had a bill literally thrown at me. I've been coming to the bar for years and have always had great food and interactions with the bartenders. This was my first time back in months and the new bartenders leave a lot to be desired. My wife and I ordered drinks and some appetizers. Everything came out and the food was fine. The problem was after waiting 40 minutes our nachos never came out so we asked for the bill and that the nachos get removed. Pretty simple. The bartender asked if wanted something else. Nope. We were done eating 20 minutes earlier. It then took another 10 awkward minutes to get a bill- which was then thrown at us. No thank you. No apologies. Just a bill tossed our way. Look - I was a server for years. I get it customers can suck to deal with - but I was very polite. This is how the interaction should have gone: "sorry sir. I'll get my manager to adjust your bill right away!" Then you can talk about me behind my back in the kitchen all you want. Thats fine. That part of being in the industry. Throwing a bill at me and not apologizing is not how you handle this situation. The food here is ok. Standard common man. The bartenders- at least the one with dark curly hair left a lot to be desired. That will be our last meal at Camp. read more
