Had dinner with friends. 45 minute wait but thats ok, it's a Saturday night to kick off bike week. Actually turned out to be only a 30 minute wait. Sat out on the deck which was really nice. Seeing the boats float by was cool. Matt was our waiter and very accommodating and service was good. Good selection of food and drinks priced average. Ordered the cheeseburger nachos and they came out cold and the burger was burnt. Matt took it back and the replacement order was excellent! He was apologetic. Sorry no pics! First time being here, we had the pulled pork nachos and the pulled pork mac n cheese. Nachos were good but the mac n cheese tasted more like buttered noodles than cheese. Had high hopes for this place. Beautiful location on the water. A nice break from the typical "track food" you get at a motorcycle rally. We wanted lunch and the wait doable at 20 minutes. Keep in mind that there were many empty tables but we were still told 20 minutes. After 30 minutes I inquired about our status, we were told another few more minutes. After 10 minutes, I checked in again and they were finally able to seat us. We sit and no server for 10 minutes. Our server finally address us and were told "be with you in a minute as we are short staffed". Another 10 minutes goes by and were finally able to order. Drinks come promptly but the food took almost an hour to get. After the second complaint about the time, we asked for the manager and he agreed it was not up to par. 30 seconds after the discussion with the manager, our manager friend cMy friend, the food suddenly appeared. 2 salads and an order of fish tacos? Over an hour wait?The manager apologized but made no effort to compensate anything. This is a motorcycle rally! Expect people. Staff accordingly and if you have an issue, do something to make your patrons have some type of satisfaction. FYI, I'm not throwing any blame towards the server, she was nice and doing the best she could. The blame goes to the management. Unprepared and totally missed the staffing. read more

Unfortunately, we did not have an extremely positive experience at Dox! While the views were just what we were looking for, the food was not good. The guac was unseasoned (when we asked for salt for the table, it was at least edible), the chips were stale, and our entrees and sides were not flavorful or fresh. The server was kind and doing her best but I think Dox is primarily for the wonderful views. If we were looking for a drink with views, this would have been perfect but I would skip a meal here. read more

If you are looking for in-season dining by the water with stellar lake views come here! Park in the metered spaces along the lake, walk down the boardwalk, enter through enter retro arcade and you are at DOX on Winnipesaukee. Try to call for reservations during peak hours inside. This restaurant is worth getting to early, enjoying plenty of fabulous cocktails and then dining on their spacious decks. There are some cool 2-seater chairs with connected tables along the right-most deck. If you do get put on the waiting list you can go and play at the retro arcade. Dox has 2 'docks' - or patio decks - in an L shape looking over Lake Winnipesaukee. The views are exquisite. Just make sure you plan your trip in season because they don't open until the end of May and then close in the winter (not sure exactly when.) So they have an awesome menu of tasty cocktails, beer, wine, liquor, zero-proof cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks. The Mudslide looked good. It is made with rum, vanilla ice cream, Kahlua, Stoli vanilla vodka and Bailey's Irish Cream. I ordered the Strawberry and Peach Sangria. It is made with house rum, Peachtree liqueur, strawberry puree, house Cabernet Sauvignon and Sprite. The menu is reliable with no standout surprises, during reading. But maybe the food - if it is as good as the veggie tacos i enjoyed - is the understated surprise. We ordered chicken tenders with fries and slaw. If you like slaw, or are splitting this entree, order a double slaw along with the fries. The chicken tender coating was light and flakey. The best things I ate were the veggie tacos. They are made with zucchini, broccoli, summer squash and cheddar cheese. So simple and easy but deliciously pure! I literally described them as delightful in my video review of Jenny Blanco Tours Season 5 Episode 8. There is live music here twice daily. I would only like to know that they were open in the winters -- too -- with heated patio lamps everywhere so that I could stare at that gorgeous, wintery lake view! But alas, Upper Valley folk probably have skiing to do. ;) PS- Loved the well-designed and witty t-shirts here, as well, and they were priced right at only $25. read more

Was there on Sunday and I will say that everything was amazing from the hostesses to the bartenders to the waitstaff...all very sweet and personable. We had about a 20 minute wait, so we had drinks in the bar - which were amazing (and the bartenders were very welcoming) and then onto our table for apps, more drinks and our meal. (May I say that the Loaded Nuggets were UNREAL!). Everything was wonderful and I'm looking forward to going back. read more

Service was good. Music was good. Views were good. But, that's where it ends. Don't go for the food because it is all basically horrid. The hot chick sandwich was decent, the lobster roll was decent... but not a single thing else was... seafood platter (don't waste your money), the short rib sandwich was gross (according to the both people who ordered it). Drinks were okay- some people enjoyed theirs and others did not. (Party of 13). If they up their food game they will have the perfect recipe for an amazing restaurant- but for now, food falls short. read more

I'd give a fourth star for the view, the outdoor seating and our server!. This place could be amazing, the location is great as is the layout inside and out. The food was okay, nothing to write home about. The street corn dip looked awful and was boring and it didn't sit well in our bellies, if you know what i mean. The smash burger was good with lots of bacon. The shrimp tacos were very pretty but kind of bland. Honestly the Mac and cheese was terrible. The sauce was so thin it was on the plate and not on the noodles (which was a great choice of noodle by the way - cavatappi). If they'd up the food a few notches they could really take off. Dox on Winnipesaukee opened this weekend at Winnipesaukee Pier in Weirs Beach, formerly Anthony's Pier Restaurant. Enter through the arcade. Their other location, Dox on Winnisquam in Tilton is very popular. At the time of this posting, this waterfront bar and restaurant was offering their limited soft opening menu to get acclimated, offering burgers, sandwiches, fish & chips, fried seafood, appetizers, salads, steak tips, and chicken tenders. The space is very active with covered seating areas overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee. The full service bar with seating offers a few draft beers, seltzers, frozen drinks, and cocktails. The place was very busy earlier this weekend and so busy on Saturday that they had to close on Sunday since they ran out of food. I stopped by on Monday afternoon for lunch. I sat up at the bar and ordered the Fish Sandwich ($15 plus tax) with Fries (add $2 plus tax). The kitchen was very busy churning out orders of big burgers & sandwiches and appetizer trays. My food came out in 15 minutes. The Fish Sandwich had lettuce, tartar sauce, and nice sized deep fried crisp piece of haddock on a thick soft bun. This thick sandwich was very good. The side of shoestring fries were salted and very firm, a bit dry. After I finished, my check was already given earlier and had a Toast QR code to scan and pay online, which I did so I could get quickly back to my day. Overall, I enjoyed a good lunch and hopefully next time I'm at the Weirs, I can order their buffalo chicken mac & cheese. read more

The place aesthetically is awesome. The menu sounded sooo good. We went on a Monday afternoon, 3 of us. We sat outside. The whole experience was good except the food. I had the lobster/corn chowder......mediocre. Had beet salad. Ok but again, mediocre. Coconut shrimp. Good but lacking flavor. Husband had French Dip. It s*cks to write this review. All the right ingredients are there... nice employees, overhanging the lake, a great, simple menu. Ill write out my experience for context best I can. Thursday around 7-8pm on Bike weekend we needed a bathroom and a bite. Figured this place would be great. We got greeted and seated almost immediately. Good start! Our waitress made it to us in an understandable amount of time given the business (busy, not crazy). To make it easy we ordered everything at once - water with lemon - dirty martini - fish & chips - salad with grilled chicken She popped by around when our food should be coming to let us know the bartender was super backed up and our drinks would be right out. About the time you'd start to get frustrated my wife's dirty martini showed up. No water with lemon yet. About 10 minutes later (45 minutes after ordering.. again the ambiance was enough to keep your mind off time), our food arrived.. still no water with lemon. About 2-3 minutes later my water showed up, no lemon. She asked if we needed anything else and I asked for lemon and tartar sauce. The lettuce in the salad felt and tasted like it had been out all day. The chicken didnt taste... like *anything*... really strange and i had my wife double check me and we both just had this weird look on our face as if to say 'how can it taste like literally nothing??'... and super rubbery. Imagine you had fake chicken breast in a doll kit. Thats what it was like. I ate 2 bites and left the rest. The waitress made rounds to every table around us over the next 15-20 minutes asking if everything was alright or anyone needed anything and we never got the lemon, refills on empty drinks, and the next time she came over the fish was gone so no more need for tartar. Id give the fish & chips a 6 on a scale of 1-10. When we appraised her of the misses she was kind and apologetic and comped the uneaten salad but DAMMIT... a poor experience overall. We had the best server in the world tonight. Hands down! Her name is Jess and she went way beyond to make our time at Dox great! Probably one of the best servers we've ever had (and this coming from a former server of many years). We only had drinks and they were great, but Jess was fantastic! Stopped in for lunch while in the area. You really can't beat the location. It's right on the water and you get an amazing view of the lake. The view, the atmosphere, the service, the pricing, all 5 stars! Plus there was outside live entertainment, also 5! If I could make any recommendations for improvements.... I had a garden salad with lobster and it was just ok. Nothing wrong with it but it was just ok. I was checking out the other food going out and the burgers look amazing! Maybe next time. The bar area was really cool but it was a nice hot sunny day so I wanted to be outside. It's too bad they don't have an actual outdoor bar. That would be outstanding! I've been too the DOX ON WINNI And have had great things to say about the service food and friendly service and have told everyone I meet to visit. Now to 6/23/25 we had Kenzie K for our server and after we were served food I had to ask different servers for plates,tarter sauce,beer and a box to go while she sat behind wooden shade. I'm not that kind of person and she still received a 20% tip and didn't even receive a thank you. She might be new at her job but needs to be better and take care of the customers that are paying her for her services. read more

Their dinner flavors. The food on the menu sounded way better than reality. Their lobster roll had a combination of one piece of fresh lobster and the remaining was several days old with a "fishy" flavor. Their Guac and chips was the only decent thing I ate. Their rum runner (dox punch per the wait staff) was overly sweet, and lacking. I miss the old Anthony's vibe and good food that was traditional for the pier. The only improvement was the live entertainment. I waited forever for a drink and service, and the requested extra paper napkins never came. The sangria forgot the wine, and tasted like an overly sweet fruit punch! So sad to see the Anthony vibe being replaced with a pipe dream. They have a lot of flashy new appearance, which is only skin deep. Don't wast your money for mediocre. read more

Hostess has an attitude problem. We were told a 45 minute wait for a table but we can sit in the bar area for drinks which was fine Mike the bartender was awesome. We got the text to sit at the table the hostess sat us next to the speaker of the live band which we asked if we could sit somewhere else she looked at us and gave us an ultimatum it's either here or there and threw the menus down on the table and rolled her eyes. Finally this place got renovated, and it's an amazing location and view. But.....the food is not great and it's really over priced. The cocktails are okay but expensive. the house margarita isn't great but you can get a good margarita if you order it right. Main thing that's a bummer is the food. Mostly fried and twice I've had to send things back. Fried Chicken tenders that were mushy and not crisp, not fresh. And chips that were stale. The only thing I've really liked on the menu so far is the Ahi Tuna nachos. Oh, and one time the singer, this young guy with a beard, was singing a lady Gaga cover and it was off key and sounded awful. Stick with the jimmy buffet dude! So, bottom line, go for the view and drinks but don't expect a great meal. read more

Our waitress Jackie was super her bright personality and professional service was a pleasure Hubs ordered the Lobster roll special ordered with butter no mayo or lettuce no problem he loved every fresh bite. The only thing he mentioned is it looked a tad light on the meat but stressed he was happy with the flavor. Wa La out comes Jackie with a beautiful smile and xtra lobster meat in hand!!! I have been to Dox Winnipesaukee several times this summer and have had an amazing experience every time! They are an established restaurant at Winnisquam. Winnipesaukee location opened this summer and has had to go through some growing pains. They don't own the pier. So many variables at a unique location such as this ,that one must give them grace! They're doing the best that they can with what they have. My servers have been Emma,Sydney,Ethan,Yoshi & Amelia. They all have been phenomenal. All great kids. Every time I've been there it's been packed!Foods been decent Scallops,smash burgers,Cheeseburger nachos,pulled pork tater tots,hot chick sandwich,all good. Libations have been good. Expresso martinis and margaritas Give it a chance,spectacular views, beautiful boats passing by,seaplanes taking off and landing right in front of you,Mt Washington boat right there,tiki boats, Winnipesaukee spirit,Winni train,loons,ducks,eagles and more!
