The upside: it was open on a Monday afternoon and evidently most restaurants within a 30 mile radius are closed. They were out of clam chowder sadly. The chicken and corn chowder was good, but not as angelic as someone else mentioned in a review. But it was probably the highlight of the meal. As someone else mentioned, the menu is pretty limited and there was only one server/bartender (and if I had to guess, one person in the kitchen), so service was a bit slow. Definitely a hang for locals and not the kind of restaurant you'd expect for a country club. I don't think it claims to be a country club, but it's part of a golf course, so that's the vibe I was thinking of instead of a local pub. The sandwich and side options (minus chips) were heavy on the mayo, just as a heads up for anyone with an egg allergy. Our sandwiches were fine, but a little overpriced. Great spot I ran into while I needed a break from kids and a good bite to eat. I got the chicken salad sandwich and a cup of clam chowder. Both delicious and filled me right up. I ate at the bar and the ladies behind the table were attentive and kind. read more

Disappointed Food OK. Menu very limited to standard bar fare (there used to be creative lunch specials). Window wide open with no screen, so there was an abundance of flies hovering around us the entire time. Staff was somewhat dull-witted. Probably will not eat there again. read more

We ate here a few times while in the area. Went in for dinner and we had great service. Our waitress was so great with the kids, we really appreciated it. The turkey club was decent and came with chips or potato salad. We got breakfast sandwiches on another day and I wish they had been better. Super greasy and soggy, yuk. I only want to say; please review and update your website frequently. Your hours used to be closed on Mon & Tues; open rest of the week etc. I figured the new hours reflected the summer schedule which indicates; Open Mon & Tues and rest of week at 7am. etc Extremely frustrating when trying to meet up with friends for breakfast and you get there and it's closed. Unfortunately living up here, we know that there are hardly any restaurants open on Mon & Tues so we were thrilled to see the hours changed. Went to another restaurant which indicates they are open, closed as well. I guess it's just the norm in Ossipee. read more

Staff is the best! Great breakfast - like, my partner and I talk all the time about how the cook here makes the best eggs aground. Our go-to before heading further north to ski for the day or heading out for a round of golf at Indian Mound (where you should definitely play a round). read more

Attempted Rosie's down the road for breakfast but wait was way too long and we ended up here. No wait and a decent breakfast for our family of 4. Food was middle of the road, not bad but not great, but being able to sit down, eat and not pay an arm and a leg was nice. read more

Walked in at 7pm on a Monday night with my mother, aunt and nephew. Place reeked of stale beer upon entry. Wasn't a busy night, but we waited about 10 minutes in front of the bartender for an acknowledgement, but to no avail. Once the kitchen manager came up front to talk to her, pointing basically behind us at a table in the back, with no acknowledgement to us, we all walked out. Went a mile down the road to Jakes and had a table right away. Not sure how the food is (looked terrible), but the service at the Rivers Edge is terrible. read more

Very yummy food! We had a specialty of theirs for lunch--grilled chicken corn chowder. Wonderful! --sandwiches-to me a sandwich is always just a sandwich--eh. That said, ours used good bread, lots in between the slices, VERY generous size, and the sides with generous portions w of creative choices. Excellent service from the friendly and very efficient waitress. The ambience-the restaurant has a bar in it and is adjacent to a golf course and pro shop. When we were there, all was quiet. The restaurant is dark wood, exposed beams that remind me of a cabin look. All very clean-including the bathroom. If I am in the area, I will definitely go there again--for the grilled chicken corn chowder! It's worth a visit for that alone! read more

Had a wonderful Rueben called "The Eagle" it was delicious! Served with coleslaw and a dill pickle on the side. My husband had wings and they were very good. Would love to see some local craft beer on tap. read more

Wow. When you're hungry, your hangry! The place is a locals pub. The food is mediocre. The AC wasn't working. But the service was friendly and attentive. They had the soggiest onion rings I've every had. They charge an extra two bucks for them when you order a burger. Go with the leaf salad. read more

My husband and I had our rehearsal dinner for our wedding here and from start to finish, River's Edge was a delight to work with. Jonathan, the owner, was prompt in his responses, the price was right and above all the food was great! Living in MA and trying to communicate with a venue in NH can some times be a challenge, but they made it easy. I can't thank them enough for making a stressful situation very easy!
