    Seafood platter

10 out of 10. Food was amazing. I had broiled seafood, my husband's fried. It was so light and delicious. Perfect fries and Cole slaw. Emily was the best server. We went back to California with sweatshirts, too. Highly recommend!

Another great meal of steak tips and a haddock sandwich. The waitress are always so pleasant

    Seafood Platter with Fish Chowder

10/10! Perfect service, so IDK how the food could be better than the service, but it was. Fish chowder with homemade bread, then the mountainous, decadent seafood platter (with breaded shrimp, clams, scallops, white fish (maybe oysters) with fresh tartar sauce, comfort-food-level potato salad, and coleslaw with a clever zing to complement the seafood. Scrubbed clean, pleasant home-kitchen atmosphere, and clearly where the locals go: if you have to wait out front to be seated don't sweat it. If I'm passing through again, this is DEFINITELY my stop.

    Chipped plate

I don't care how good the food is not when it is served on a plate that's chipped. This was a place that was recommended to us since it was our first time visiting the area. I don't think that I want to be back.

I have always loved coming to George's having grown up visiting my Dad's in Meredith. The diner is a staple for most locals or people I know who live in the area, and it is a quick, easy, great place to eat. It's a no BS diner with good, non-expensive food. There's even a tented area where you can sit outside now. Been coming here my whole life and will continue to! Service is good and it's a great time always.

Love everything about this local gem! Don't change a thing!! Service is exceptional! Food quality and quantity is right on! This is a first come, first serve place... so be patient - it's worth the wait.

Delish! Buffalo chicken wrap and tendies. Onion rings were the best! Friendly staff and quick bite.

Steak and Eggs! They also have awesome fried seafood at lunch!

The best diner in the Lakes Region. This was the steak and eggs with toast and homefries. We also love the fried whole belly clams and scallops for 23.99! I will add a picture of that when we get it again.

While on vacation, we decided to go here after looking at yelp reviews. It wasn't far from the Center Harbor Inn where we were staying. I saw online that they had daily specials, a few of them looked interesting. Overall their pricing was very good, especially compared to some of the restaurants in the area. Parking in front, also a lot across the street. Not sure if you can park there, but that's where we parked. We went around 6, luckily it was not crowded. We were able to sit right down. The place is very outdated, it looks like an older diner from the second you walk in. Our waitress was very friendly and constantly checking on us. She wanted to make sure we enjoyed our experience there. I ordered the Philly steak sandwich, which is basically a Philly cheesesteak. I didn't get everything on it, just the cheese, peppers, and onions. I also got fries to go along with my sandwich. The fries were hot and looked to be fresh made, but didn't have much taste. I added a little salt which I rarely do, that gave them some flavor. The Philly cheesesteak was OK. Couldn't taste the cheese, and the steak was just OK. Not a lot of flavor but it was hot and fresh. My fiancé and I normally pick two meals and share them. We did not do that today. I sampled some of her country fried steak. I realize that I made a mistake by not sharing. It was flavored deliciously, and fried very tender. The gravy was some of the best that I have eaten. I ended up dipping some of my french fries into it. I would return here just to get the country fried steak.

We were on vacation in NH this weekend and this place was an absolute must go. I got the half stack pancakes with plain chocolate chip, whole wheat blueberry, and their special which was oatmeal granola. All were absolutely amazing. My mom got the buttermilk blueberry and gingerbread walnut- these two are our absolute favorite combos. We also got a side of their homemade wheat toast and home fries. If you go, you must get their home fries because they are arguably the best item on the menu, besides pancakes of course lol. My dad got a ham and cheese omelette, with a choice of 2 or 3 eggs (he got 3), which comes with home fries and toast. I also tried their iced lattes for the first time ever and I'm disappointed I never got it before. I got an iced latte with salted caramel flavor and whip cream which was amazing. Their menu is full of variety and they are so many substitutions and add ons you can make. Different combos of pancake batter and toppings, cheese and onions on home fries, different flavors of toast, etc. All the employees are so friendly too. Every time we've eaten here, the waiter/waitress is always so kind and friendly and attentive. Our waitress today, Lisa, was especially awesome. The food comes out in a decent amount of time too. Beware that they get VERY VERY busy once camping season starts, around Memorial Day weekend and continuing throughout the summer. You could be looking at a wait time of at least 2 hours on a weekend in the summer if you get there after 8 or 9am. They don't take calls for a waitlist, you have to be there to put your name on a list to wait. Since we went early May, we had no wait whatsoever. Please give this place your business, they deserve it and will not disappoint!!!

They have repurposed an old railroad station building that brings a unique charm to your breakfast/lunch. My wife and I both appreciated the overall vibes! We had free range of selecting a table and service was friendly and quick with zero complaints. Like I said they have plenty of common dishes you'd expect like French toast, omelettes, Benedict's and more. Alongside their menu they include weekly specials and these were the dishes that really caught my eye for their uniqueness! During our stop they had Congee (think Chinese rice porridge), Hong Kong Waffle, and lastly Shanghai Omelette. I went with the omelette that had Chinese sausage, carrots, onions with a Chinese bbq sauce and some other finishing touches with a side of rice and wonton instead of toast. Was such a unique dish but tasted phenomenal, glad I got to try it! My wife then went with their Carnitas Omelette with a few substitutions to avoid any heat but was blown away by it. She had never really thought about having carnitas for breakfast but enjoyed every bite. The hollindaise sauce on top was the perfect touch! If you find yourself in this area I highly recommend checking out this spot! Fantastic vibes with friendly and quick staff with delicious and inventive dishes showcasing a variety of cuisines from all over the world. A great spot to open your mind to new food ideas!

I also ordered a side of bacon. For me it was 3 and a half stars. Hubs had pancakes with eggs and sausage. He said the pancakes had no flavor and I tasted them and had to agree. His eggs were fine and sausage ok. So for him it was three stars. We decided to go with 3 total stars on this one because if you're going to call yourself a breakfast place you need to nail the pancakes. Overall not bad and not great. It has its charm, but they could really use some fresh paint and some updating, and if they redid the booths, they could certainly fit in way more tables and you'd think make more money. The first day, my omelette was OK, though I have to say I prefer George's Diner next door. But the coffee was hot and the coffee cake muffin that was grilled was phenomenal! We came back the next day because of that muffin. Our second experience was not good at all, and the reason we did not go back again, despite being there for 13 days. Service was absolutely horrible! When we walked in, there were few tables seated. We ordered sunny side up eggs with potatoes (fruit for me) and a coffee cake muffin. It took 25 minutes to get it, and made us late for work. They do not turn over tables quickly here. It's a diner folks, and if you can't get eggs out quickly, how do you make money? It's back to George's for us. I have to say this really pissed us off. They tried to say it was a full restaurant, but when we came in, it was not. We ordered something very simple. My dining partner tips 20 bucks on breakfast, and had done so the day before, so though a different server, you think she'd be aware he's a very good tipper and it's a good idea to take care of him. Of 13 days there, we ate next-door at George's 11. The coffee cake muffin here is good, but when you're on a time crunch and have somewhere to be, choose somewhere else.
