Food was delicious. I got the breakfast burrito and my wife got the corn beef hash omelet, also got 2 blueberry pancakes , sooooooo gooood . Tried the spring mimosa flight, wife liked the berry blitz and I liked all 4 , just peachy probably being my favorite! We went at 11am on a Sunday , were able to sit right down . Cafe Deja Vu is a very popular local place for breakfast and lunch, which has been in business for 15 years. It was the Sunshine Coffee Shop before that. I have been meaning to stop here for quite some time and I finally did with a friend. We arrived here mid morning on a typical Sunday and the tight parking lot was almost full. We walk in and the place was very busy at capacity, folks already seated at the counter and at several booths and tables in two dining rooms. We were directed to the last open table near the front. The atmosphere is pretty homey of a cozy hometown country restaurant with wood walls and old pictures on the walls including several pictures and the history of 311 Court Street (now Cafe Deja Vu). We both start out with Superior coffees ($1.39 each) which was pretty decent. My friend also orders a Bloody Mary ($4.75) served in a pint with a big celery stick sticking out. The drink was not fancy but pretty good and he ordered a second Bloody Mary, why the heck not since it's Sunday. The breakfast entrees did take a while to come out since the place was really busy and there was a short wait for folks just arriving. My friend enjoyed the Eggs Benedict ($6.95) over English muffins with home fries and beans. I had the Breakfast Burrito ($7,25) with egg beaters ($0.50) served with home fries. The Burrito was huge with was stuffed with egg beaters and, meat (sausage) wrapped in a flour tortilla, topped with a thick layer of cheese and smothered with plenty of medium salsa. The homefries were very good, which were fresh cut potato chunks grilled and browned crisp outside and soft inside. The service was pleasant and attentive, The server checked up on us often and several refills on the coffee were given. We were both pretty full from the great breakfast and it was off to the slopes for a good half day of spring skiing. Wow! We were visiting from Maine and checked yelp for a good breakfast spot! Now we know why the parking lot was full and there was a line out the door when we left. My brother-in-law enjoyed the déjà vu special complete with sausage, bacon, eggs, potatoes and pancakes! My sister enjoyed an omelette with a gluten-free pancake on the side, not something you find every day! The best for me, was the Blackstone eggs Benedict! With crispy bacon, sliced tomato and decadent hollandaise sauce! Five star food but the atmosphere, well like most good diners "it's a hole in the wall," so only 4-stars for atmosphere, but the service was attentive and the food was great, so otherwise 5-stars! In my opinion it tastes better than the soda shoppe here in Laconia. I had the pancakes and they were good, fresh and delicious. You don't get refills on juice but you do on soda. I think there breakfast is amazing, definitely stepped up there game. I appreciate and take notice no hair in food at all. always manage to get some workers hand in food at soda shoppe. This is a very pleasant little Restauraunt. The staff were friendly and very attentive. Our food came out hot and the wait was very reasonable. Price was 20 bucks for a breakfast special and breakfast sandwich without tip, reasonable. I had the déjà vu two you can choose a little of both as an option, meaning instead of just beans or grits or hashbrowns you can get a combo. Worlds tiniest breakfast sausage but man they were tasty! So delicious! I was in town for a few days and stopped in for a quick breakfast. Because of the last reviews, I ordered the special (egg/cheese/turkey saus on English muffin with hashbrowns). Not only was it too much to finish, it was hot, fresh, fast, and friendly. No joke. And... Wait for it... Five dollars! We are new to the area and are testing out the local fare. We tried Cafe Dejavu this morning and had a very nice breakfast. The restaurant has the usual breakfast items--eggs, omelets, pancakes, french toast, etc.--with a few specials. My husband tried the cheeseburger omelet and gave it a thumbs up. I had full breakfast plate (2 eggs, 2 sausage, 2 bacon and 2 pancakes) but substituted their daily special pumpkin pancakes for the regular. YUM. Everything cooked well and tasty, but I loved the pancakes. Hope that they stay on the menu throughout fall. Service was very friendly and the coffee was good. Definitely going back, especially after I spied the muffins when we were walking out the door... :-) Price for two meals with the pancake substitution and coffee was about $23 with tax. read more

Waitress was awesomely attentive without being intrusive at all! Brought us whatever we needed and did NOT roll her eyes as we asked for honey for our coffee instead of sugar! I've been breakfasting in Gilford/Laconia/Meredith for over 16 years, and have tried just about every restaurant that serves breakfast. Deja Vu has become my favorite place, primarily because of the homefries described above. They might be grilled, but they also might be oven roasted. Regardless of method, they always end of tasting excellent, and elevate everything else on the plate a notch or two. Also, they do great poached eggs. Always seemed to be cooked perfectly, not too runny or softboiled, as many places seem to end up doing. Service is always great too. I almost gave this place 2 stars, but it did have some good. Got a basic ham, eggs, and homefries breakfast and a corned beef hash, eggs, and baked beans breakfast. The hash breakfast was very good except I got white toast instead of the rye I ordered. The ham breakfast was poor. The ham was a pressed ham like Spam except Spam is better. Very little taste. The homefries were black (burned) in one side, for me there is no excuse for burned food. The cook, or at least the waitress should have noticed. The floors and tables were clean but the ceiling was quite dirty, like it, the lights, and the A/C units hadn't been cleaned in years. I doubt I would go back. read more
