Awesome local breakfast joint in Laconia. Staff is amazing - friendly, genuine, and ready to fill the place up & get you your breakfast as quickly as possible! I had the spinach and feta omelette. It was cooked perfectly. Breakfast potatoes were delicious and seasoned well. Nothing fancy, but perfect for a quick and authentic diner breakfast. Would recommend!

    stuffed french toast with strawberries

I visited this diner with 3 friends for brunch on Thursday. There was a sign that said to seat yourself so we found a booth. It was fairly empty, probably since it was a weekday. I ordered the stuffed french toast with strawberries. It comes with cream cheese filling and cooked down strawberries (which makes them more jammy and syrupy and sweet), and it's topped with loads of whipped cream and comes with maple syrup on the side. It was very sweet, as expected, but very delicious. I would recommend getting a side of bacon or hash browns or something else that's savory to cut the sweetness... I made the mistake of not ordering any but my friend graciously shared a slice of bacon which helped me a lot. I think this would be a hit for kids or anyone with a major sweet tooth! I think the quality and taste of the food is pretty standard for any respectable diner. The price is also cheap and you get a good amount of food for what you're paying. Overall I'd highly recommend coming here for breakfast/brunch! Unfortunately I was only stopping by the area so I don't know if I'll ever visit again to try their non-breakfast options but I'm sure they're just as yummy and affordable!

Everyone loved their adult beverages too! And yes, their pint of Guinness IS actually a Perfect Pour! (We've been to the Dublin distillery in Ireland!) Later, he also added, everything each of us had was great, right? That never happens! Ha! So, yes, we ALL loved our food, appetizers, sandwiches, desserts, and drinks! We even got a burger to go for our eldest granddaughter who was babysitting and she was happy! We'll be back! Meep up the great work!

It was open mic night, so different people were coming up every half hour or so, some with guitars, and it was such a fun Irish pub atmosphere. The FOOD was delicious and the server was excellent. She asked if we wanted the sweet potato fries a little crunchier and I said "of course" because who likes soggy sweet potato fries. They have gluten free buns so I got one of their specialty burgers and devoured the entire thing. The lobster crab cakes were so good. The one weird thing that happened: we had just bought wine bottles at the store next door to take back to the hotel, but when we came in, they asked to hold it at the front until we finished our meal. That might be a NH law.

Try to call for reservations during peak hours inside. This restaurant is worth getting to early, enjoying plenty of fabulous cocktails and then dining on their spacious decks. There are some cool 2-seater chairs with connected tables along the right-most deck. If you do get put on the waiting list you can go and play at the retro arcade. Dox has 2 'docks' - or patio decks - in an L shape looking over Lake Winnipesaukee. The views are exquisite. Just make sure you plan your trip in season because they don't open until the end of May and then close in the winter (not sure exactly when.) So they have an awesome menu of tasty cocktails, beer, wine, liquor, zero-proof cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks. The Mudslide looked good. It is made with rum, vanilla ice cream, Kahlua, Stoli vanilla vodka and Bailey's Irish Cream. I ordered the Strawberry and Peach Sangria. It is made with house rum, Peachtree liqueur, strawberry puree, house Cabernet Sauvignon and Sprite. The menu is reliable with no standout surprises, during reading. But maybe the food - if it is as good as the veggie tacos i enjoyed - is the understated surprise. We ordered chicken tenders with fries and slaw. If you like slaw, or are splitting this entree, order a double slaw along with the fries. The chicken tender coating was light and flakey. The best things I ate were the veggie tacos. They are made with zucchini, broccoli, summer squash and cheddar cheese. So simple and easy but deliciously pure! I literally described them as delightful in my video review of Jenny Blanco Tours Season 5 Episode 8. There is live music here twice daily. I would only like to know that they were open in the winters -- too -- with heated patio lamps everywhere so that I could stare at that gorgeous, wintery lake view! But alas, Upper Valley folk probably have skiing to do. ;) PS- Loved the well-designed and witty t-shirts here, as well, and they were priced right at only $25.

This is a lovely restaurant that sits alongside Meredith Bay on Lake Winnipesaukee. There are a number of seating choices including bar, high top and conventional tables, many with views of the lake. This time of the year, the views of the snow-covered frozen lake are gorgeous. I wish I could say the same thing about our dinner, which frankly was a disappointment. The menu includes a good variety of starters, appetizers, salads, handhelds, and entrees. Two of us ordered the Flat Iron Steak. I realize this is usually a chewier cut of meat, but this was so tough it was inedible. Our server and the manager both could not have been nicer in terms of how they handled this as I returned mine and was quickly brought a different dinner- a French Dip sandwich. This was tasty but there was more bread than roast beef. The other person chose to keep her flat iron streak, but I could tell it was very difficult to cut and chew. Another ordered the Chicken Milanese Salad which included arugula, peppers, roasted tomatoes and olives in a balsamic dressing. The Parmesan crusted pan fried chicken came over-done but that meal was well-liked. The service and the ambiance were stellar.

Lakehouse Grille in Meredith has been our family favorite for years, and once again, they've reminded us why we keep coming back. This recent visit was a bit different--we came for lunch instead of our usual dinner, and we were celebrating the life of my mother-in-law who had just passed away. It was a meaningful day for us, and from the moment we walked in, we were met with the kind of warmth and genuine care that makes this place so special. Our server McKenzie was nothing short of extraordinary. She greeted us with kindness and compassion, and her attentiveness throughout the meal truly elevated the experience. She understands hospitality on a deep level. One moment in particular left us speechless--when my husband asked for a cappuccino, she regretfully explained that the restaurant doesn't have an espresso machine (which, side note, they should totally invest in one!). But instead of letting that be the end of it, McKenzie took it upon herself to walk over to the hotel lobby and make an espresso for him. When she returned, proud and smiling, it was a small act that meant the world to us. It's this kind of care and heart that the hospitality industry desperately needs more of. As always, the food was fantastic. We had lobster rolls this time and they were generously portioned, super fresh, and fairly priced--honestly some of the best we've had. For dessert, the crème brûlée was smooth, rich, and the perfect sweet ending. Their wine list is decent too and pairs nicely with the lunch menu. Between the amazing lake views, consistently excellent food, and unmatched hospitality, Lakehouse Grille continues to be a true gem. We're already looking forward to returning in the spring--and truly hope we see McKenzie again. She's a star!
