We had a pretty good experience at the Olde Bay Diner! The restaurant is on the smaller side but really cute! They always seem to be busy! The food was pretty good! They have breakfast deals depending on the day. The food is kinda pricey but it was honestly pretty good. I felt like their portions were pretty big too! I think the only issue we had was with our waitress! She was pretty short with us and not very kind...I feel like we have had something similar to happen to us before! I had asked her if the home fries or hash browns were more popular, and she had a pretty short/rude response back! Although she seemed to warm up to our party by the time we left and it was time to leave a tip, she didn't come by much to see if we needed any refills! We tried to get her attention to get a coffee refill, and it was hard to get more! I think we ended up having someone go up to the counter to ask because it was so hard to get her attention! Overall, it was a pretty good experience! I normally don't get too worked up about the service not being the best, but she was pretty rude to us! I think I would come back but the service is really the only "bad" thing I have to say about the Olde Bay Diner if that's something that would bother someone! I would also caution against bringing a large party here! They would probably try to stick you at the bar which isn't the most comfortable! read more

Great breakfast. Good service. Classic diner feel. I don't believe there were options for parties larger than four people.

It is difficult waiting til 3 pm to eat anywhere; but adding Bike Week in the area, made the wait even worse. However, my wait was only 10-15 minutes and was worth it! Being short staffed because of the current administration's addition of $300 to unemployment, many tables were being left unoccupied. The working staff, however, was not only efficient, but exceptionally pleasant. The food was equally 'on point'. I chose the seafood pizza, but asked the lobster to be withheld, since the cost for Lobster has increased since the menu was printed... $3 more for the pizza and $6 more for other meals with lobster. At $21 for a LUNCH 12" pizza, the additional $3 seemed ridiculous. My pizza was EXCELLENT!Lots of creamy, sweet cheese and plenty of shrimp and scallop chunks. Considering today's 'conditions' of restaurants being shoqrt-handed and increasing their lunch prices to 'the old' dinner, my meal was well worth it. I was nearly surrounded by the beautiful lake views and pleasant, happy guests. America at its best! read more

We were driving around and stopped into the diner for a late lunch. Luckily, we arrived shortly before their closing time of 1:30PM. We had the diner to ourselves. We headed to old Bay diner for a quick brunch. There was a short wait, but wait staff was very nice and food came out tasting great, and did not take long. We sat at the counter, which was comfortable. If you are a larger human, you may be uncomfortable at the counter, but part of the charm of this diner is the small overall size. My friends got breakfast and were pleased and I got a Reuben and fries. The Reuben was excellent, but I was not impressed with the fries. Not terrible - but not impressive either. This is a cute, small diner that definitely gets a lot of business! If you are looking to get in, I suggest arriving before 10 a.m. to get a seat. There are only a few booths & then a long bar. I came here with my grandmother and then-boyfriend - there appeared to be only 1 waitress working the entire place but she sure moved fast & was friendly. The entire place was FULL yet more & more people would come in & stand to wait to eat. So, it's a bit cramped. The food menu has the regular faves. I ordered a Greek omelet but requested it to be made with egg whites (they can do that with any of their omelettes for an up-charge). It was extremely delicious & their home fries are great. I am returning here tomorrow with my grandma again because we enjoyed it so much! read more

We love this place. We come here every time we bring our boat to the lake. Service is great, restaurant is cozy and food is delicious.

I will start with the positives first... The food here is incredible. It is every time I eat here and that's why we come back. The not-so-positives... The waitress (a blond, mid-aged woman) is a bit rude. She routinely has inappropriate conversations with the regulars; and the regulars are a bit rough. It is also very small in there, so you can't go with a large party. They also only take cash, which is a rare thing to use these days. I also find that they are randomly closed and closed a lot of week days. It's hard to know when to go and the weekends are too busy. I kind of miss when this place was a family restaurant. It had a different quality then. I will go back, though, because man can that guy cook! read more

Where to start. My first time is my last time at this place. The pregnant red head needs to find a new job because waitressing is not her thing. She was very rude and unpleasant,filled our coffee one time then we had to fight to get her attention for a top off. Never returned to check up on us for anything until the bill came. We wanted some eggs benny but when we sat down they informed us that they were out of all the eggs benny dishes. The food was blah, toast was burnt the home fires were bland, no flavor. The Irish omelet wasn't any better the hash tasted like it was from the can and they had what seemed to be like craft single cheese in the center of it. I would describe the other four peoples dishes in my party but I'm sure I've made my point. For the money spent I'd rather go to the farmers kitchen in Farmington. read more

I went here for the first time last weekend for breakfast. My dining partner hadn't been there in a while, but thought that it had been renovated. The other reviewers commented on it looking like a classic diner, but it didn't strike me as such. The prices were high for the middle of nowhere NH. $9.50 for an omelet that had nothing to do with any type of seafood? That's kinda steep. And the menu was suprisingly limited. They had AMAZING homemade cinnamon toast, which I ordered on the advice of a friendly patron who was on his way out. We'd just parked ourselves at the counter, but he kindly offered us his booth. (What a nice guy!) But back to the toast. It tasted like a cinnamon roll. Really to die for. Highly recommended. My friend got a burger and onion rings, which he enjoyed. The burger was cooked to temp. The rings were thin and crispy. Not like those fat nasty night crawler onion rings where the batter peels off to reveal a slimy onion beneath. I got scrambled eggs, the aforementioned buttery and delicious cinnamon roll toast, and homefries. It was pretty good. My only complaint was that the scrambled eggs were like a mistake omelet. You know what I mean by that? Like, instead of scrambling the whole time, they let it cook enough to form a solid disc in the pan and then chopped it up a bit. Just what I needed! I'm in town for work and needed a bite to eat before a full day. I stopped in, quickly picked the breakfast sandwich with potato patty and an iced coffee. All around, Great choices! Simple and delicious. Because of its true diner feel, I was a little worried about my request for iced coffee... You know sometimes you get the hot coffee poured over the ice? Nope, dark, rich, tasty, big glass of iced coffee! Just what I needed to start my day off right. The sandwich too was tasty and filling. And the potato cake?! I took a chance on that one, I wasn't sure what it was going to be. Great life choice! Definitely go for the potato cake if you're up for something A little different. It's like a little toasted patty of delicious mashed potatoes! I also really appreciated the post summer Local's crew who is here for their regular breakfast conversation. Stopped here on our way to our motel. Greeted (not-so-warmly) by a younger woman who acted as if us being there was a bother. The same young woman then came over to our table with menus and proceeded to tell us she had a horrific migraine. Most likely so we wouldn't think badly of her for the shitty attitude she gave us walking in the door. We placed our order...I ordered the haddock sandwich with fries and onion rings, my sister ordered a burger & fries, and my son ordered a hotdog and fries. Also ordered two Diet Pepsis and one Sierra Mist. The server didn't come over once to check on us, to ask if the food was ok, or if we needed refills....just kept chit-chatting with the townies like we weren't even there. The food wasn't great either...my sister's burger was "meh", my son's hotdog was burned and my haddock & onion rings were extremely overdone. The fries were the crinkle cut frozen variety. The breakfast at Olde Bay Diner was delicious! I loved my blueberry French toast and side of baked beans. My date loved his breakfast sandwich with a side of hash. Although we had to wait about 25 minutes for a table, it was understandable because of the confined space of the diner. Our waitress was very friendly, and the service was quick. I loved having a detailed map of Lake Winnipesaukee as the decor of our table...nice touch. With a bill of $25, I'm confident that I will be returning here in the future. read more

I hear diner and I mentally prepare for a rundown, sticky, travel back in time hole in the wall. That is not Olde Bay Diner! I was more than pleasantly surprised. VERY clean and bright. Comfortable booth that wasn't patched with duct tape. Food was excellent. Staff was attentive and friendly. I'm sure going after the vacationers have gone home helped with us not having to wait because it is quite small, but I really have to drive home the point of how clean and well maintained this establishment is.
