Formerly Cannoli Stop Cafe, Oonahs Cafe & Bakery opened in August 2023 next to the car wash. This…read morecozy space was rearranged with the bakery counter to the left and the coolers and candy to the right. There is currently no seating here, so everything is takeout. Most of the individual bakery items are preplastic wrapped or packaged in clear plastic containers, similar to what the former Route 28 Bakery of Chichester did over a decade ago. The baked goods sold here include a variety of cookies, brownies, rice krispie treats, cupcakes, pie slices, cake slices, muffins, and fresh baked flaky calzone pockets. They also sell breakfast items, pudding cups, edible cookie dough, eclairs, cream puffs, chocolate covered pretzels, macarons, tiramisu, fruit tarts, sandwiches, salads, coffee, shakes, and cold drinks. I stopped by Oonah's Cafe & Bakery after work recently. I decided to get a Steak & Cheese Flaky Calzone ($10 plus tax), a large Chocolate Chunk Cookie ($2.75 plus tax), and a French Toast Muffin ($2.50 plus tax). The calzone was made and baked to order fresh. About 15 minutes later, the calzone was all set, served with a cup of marinara sauce for dipping. Though small in size, the hot and flaky calzone was really good and was filled with shaved steak and melted cheese and great for dipping into the cool marinara sauce. The French toast muffin was dense and soft, like a sweet cake muffin. The chocolate chunk cookie was thick and soft with plenty of chocolate in each bite and great with my hot coffee. Other than the absence of cannolis (that was Cannoli Stop, reopening in Concord), the baked goods here at Oonah's are pretty good.

Yummy baked goods. Hope to get by there more. If you're looking for some goodies to eat. Here's…read moreyour place

Jon's Roast Beef has officially become part of our annual Laconia tradition. Every year when we…read morecome up to the area, we make sure to stop in for lunch, and it never disappoints. The food is always great, but what I really love about this place is the people. Everyone is genuinely friendly and always seems so appreciative of your business. There's just an old-school New England/New Hampshire wholesomeness to the place that you don't find everywhere anymore. This trip we had the Turkey Thanksgiving sandwich with gravy on the side and the pastrami on a sub roll with Swiss and deli mustard. Both were absolutely fantastic. Washed it all down with an RC Cola, which was a fun surprise because you almost never see RC anymore! Great food, great people, and the kind of local place you actually look forward to coming back to. It's an annual tradition for us now, and I have a feeling it will continue to be one for many years to come.

I asked the gentleman at the counter if they make a North Shore three-way. He confidently replied,…read more"Sure do!" What arrived was an absolute abomination. The roast beef was salted like deli cold cuts and wasn't rare at all, the barbecue sauce wasn't James River--it was some house-made substitute--and it wasn't even served on a buttered grilled onion roll. Somehow they still called it a North Shore three-way. I'm sorry, but if it doesn't have James River sauce and isn't on a buttered grilled onion roll, it's not a North Shore three-way. That's just a roast beef sandwich having an identity crisis. And for reasons known only to the gods, it cost $19.74. Needless to say, I won't be going back. If you're going to charge twenty bucks for a North Shore three-way, at least make an actual North Shore three-way.

Like some NYC club, they want…read morethat line for the hype as opposed to hiring more staff on Saturdays and actually efficiently moving the line. And maybe reviewing this is like reviewing a Target ... i.e. who cares. Or maybe it's jealousy because I got there on a Saturday morning and waited in ridiculous line. After 45 minutes, I had moved 1.5 car lengths with still 50 people in front of me. I guess if you are a roast beef guru, it's for you. Funny thing, I didn't even want roast beef! I finally went across the street to Brothers and had an excellent tuna sandwich.

Ughhh *insert SHOCKED face here!*…read more I am truly shocked and confused at the hype surrounding the 3-way roast beef sandwich and cult following it has as I couldn't figure out what was supposed to be so "special" about it that people wait in line so long for it... My husband and I arrived about an hour before this place opened on a Saturday, and the line for this sandwich was already forming outside. By the time we got inside, the line was down the street/around the corner! There are no sandwich sizes. It's pretty much a size "super beef" on an onion roll with the classic sauce, mayo & cheese. I watched the staff grab softball-sized handfuls of beef, pile it onto the buns and top it with sauce using a ladle. It was quite the operation! You can tell the fresh, rosy-pink, soft & flavorful beef is very high quality BUT the sandwich overall was not as impressive as I expected it to be in relation to the hype. I've had others where I was blown away by the taste/flavor after the first bite which is what I expected here, but it did not happen! Don't get me wrong, it was still a good/decent legitimate North Shore roast beef sandwich, but certainly NOT worth waiting in line for (in my opinion). You can get just as good of a sandwich (if not better) from other roast beef establishments without the lines/wait!

The setting is absolutely gorgeous, with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, a peaceful countryside atmosphere, and a quiet, serene setting that made for a truly relaxing evening. Before our reservation, we stopped in the barn next door for drinks. It was such a fun experience! They had a fantastic selection of meads, live music with a talented duo playing '90s rock hits, and even a nice selection of branded merchandise available for purchase. The weather couldn't have been better, and the food was outstanding. We both ordered the baked haddock, and it was absolutely delicious- perfectly cooked, fresh, and full of flavor. We also highly recommend the Razz "What She Said" draft and the Mango Unchained sour draft, both were refreshing, flavorful, and incredibly tasty. A special thank you to our server, Grace, who made our evening even more enjoyable. She was top-notch-friendly, kind, attentive, sweet, and truly provided exceptional customer service from start to finish. From the stunning mountain views and relaxing atmosphere to the delicious farm-to-table cuisine, craft beverages, live music, and outstanding service, Over the Moon is truly a hidden gem.
