The location of Marker 21 is very different & appealing. Went up the stairs to find an open dining area with lots of windows facing Lake Winnipesaukee. My husband & I arrived about half an hour past the opening time & there were already 4 tables of customers, 1 of them that had about 8 people. There were (2) bartenders/waitresses on staff. We were there during the less busy/less touristy season so we figured we'd be in & out for a good lunch. I'd say that we must've caught them on an 'off' day. We were greeted right away & our drinks were brought right over. Our meals took about 20 minutes to arrive but when we were finished, no one came by to check on us or bring the check for nearly 30 minutes. That was the most disappointing part... My husband ended up standing at the bar to ask for the bill so that we could head out. Now, about the food. The chicken wings on the "Bites" part of the menu definitely can serve as a meal. I had the Ramen Bowl & it was very good! It filled me up quickly, as it is quite large & loaded with noodles. I took the rest home but it did not taste as good as it did when it was fresh, but that's to be expected. I'd give Marker 21 another chance... I'd love to try more items on their menu & give it a shot during the summer months / sit outside.

Hands down the Best Burger of my life!! 1/2 pound of juicy delicious meat! Bacon jam, lettuce and tomato on a brioche bun. It was cooked perfectly (I ordered it rare) so many places cook burgers well done which dries it out and ruins it IMO. Service was excellent! Staff was friendly. I was by myself so I sat at the bar-there was a good, positive energy like the staff was enjoying themselves and wanted to be there! And...don't forget the Spectacular View of Lake Winnipesaukee! Just beautiful! I am a local from Wolfeboro and will return! Thank You Marker 21!

Al fresco on the deck facing the water was certainly a bonus. Service was good, attentive and timely. Give it a try and enjoy!

The view is great and the food is ok. I didn't care for the hostess when I went there last year but the wait staff was polite

Good service, great views. The corn chowder was great. The Buddha bowl tasted a little too much like soy sauce for my liking.

The salad appeared to have been dressed with apple sauce mixed with water(!) and nothing else, and the pork chop tasted of ammonia and some other chemical. It was dry and inedible. Took one small bite, even though the smell was entirely off-putting. Tossed in the trash at home. A very expensive experience for what it was. The one star is for the welcoming and amiable wait staff. In spite of the super cold dining room in which we were seated (some of the folks in our party, including me, resorted to wearing coats and hats during the meal to get warm!), they were cheerful and attentive. The cook did come out into the dining room toward the very end of the evening and put the wall-mounted heater on, which took some of the edge off the cold. Lastly, on exiting the building, watch your step! There's a drop of about 2 feet as you approach the door to the parking lot. Anyone with mobility challenges may be unable to navigate this and/or the black ice in the parking lot.

They suffer from the curse of many NH restaurants that try to be too fancy (not necessary) & so miss the mark or they are just too overly impress with themselves & just don't deliver. They suffer from over trying & just don't deliver. We tried the fried oysters appetizer, undercooked, with their overly sweet bbq sauce - yuk. My husband had their special entree mussel frites & the fries were a soggy mess. I enjoyed their fish special & hoping it was cooked well enough so I don't have food poisoning.. I think it was ok but given our eating experience, I'm a little scared. When the staff is a delight, I hate having to write such a poor review but this was a train wreck of plated meals.

If you are in Wolfsboro and are looking for lake views, this place will suit your needs well. There is no parking and the public lot behind is always full. Prepare to circle a lot ... or find creative spaces. Paralell parking on the street is quite a chore as once you go behind the spot and try to back in, its almost impossible. The food here is average ... or slightly below. I had the worst $26 clam strip roll I have ever had. It had 4 clam strips ... yes, only 4!! Basically, it was a mountain of fries, a plain hot dog bun (not even butter toasted) and a small cup of mayonaise covered cole slaw. The fish and chips are okay ... it looks better than it tastes. Appetizers are nothing to write home about, although the seafood chowder was the best dish any of us had, loaded with clams, potatoes and fish. We found ourselves pondering the menu as nothing looked incredibly good. The views are what you come for. On a nice day, the early 2000's 'wooden everything' decorated interior is not where you want to be seated. The upper deck area naturally has a long wait ... but great waterfrobt views. They have a lower deck as well, which is covered. Slightly less remarkabke views as you are at water level. The waiter was great. Lots of good suggestions and wasn't obstrusive. It's hard not to want to give this place 4 stars for the service and the views ... but the food is just so dissapointing, 3 stars is what it really deserves.

We weren't starving but licked our plates clean anyway. We started with the French onion soup (even though it was probably 80° with the sun beating down on us). The soup was phenomenal. My boyfriend got the fish tacos and said they were awesome, he just wished they came with 3 instead of 2. The homemade potato chips were a nice touch on the side. I got the butternut ravioli salad and added grilled chicken to it. This was SO good. The salad was refreshing but also hearty, perfect amount of dressing, fresh ingredients, and seasonal with the ravioli on top. The outdoor seating overlooking the lake was so relaxing and we overheard the tables next to us talking about how much they and their families love the restaurant as well. Hannah was our server and was super attentive and nice. One thing to note is we overheard them talking about the restaurant closing after Halloween and reopening in July (I believe). Seems like this is the first time they're doing a lengthy closing, and the locals next to us had no idea, so just call to check that they're open if you're looking to visit!
