Service was great, especially considering how busy it was. The ladies behind the bar kept things moving! We ordered drinks (excellent Manhattan, btw) and some food. While waiting for the food, we had a nice chat with two locals who have lived here all their lives and that contributed to the fun vibe of the place. You hear about taciturn folks in the Northeast but we had several people talk to us, but then again, maybe we stuck out and everyone could easily tell we weren't local. In any event, it was lovely. The food was good too. Shrimp cocktail was on point but the highlight were the chicken tenders. The portion was gigantic...we were expecting maybe four tenders and there were something like eight! They were fried perfectly too. Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside....really well done. As we were leaving, there were people already waiting for tables so this must be a very popular place to eat and based on my experience (friendly environment, great service, terrific food) it's not hard to see why. Definitely check out The Breeze if you're in the area.

Mac n cheese was mid, pulled pork sandwich was good, drinks were even better.

Somehow, though, we ended up in line and before we knew it we were seated upstairs on the deck. I'm glad we went with it because the setting alone made it worth the unexpected stop. The upstairs deck is a great place to sit. You're right on Lake Winnipesaukee with beautiful views, and there's a relaxed, vacation-like atmosphere that feels a little more Caribbean than New Hampshire. Add in the live music, the water and the outdoor seating, and it is very easy to forget that you're just having lunch in Meredith. It has that casual waterfront restaurant feeling where nobody seems particularly interested in rushing off. The food came out surprisingly quickly, which was perfect for us since this wasn't even part of our original plan. Everything was good, and the drinks were particularly impressive. They were well made, refreshing and, considering the setting, surprisingly affordable. That's always a nice combination because waterfront restaurants have a tendency to make you pay a premium simply for the view. Our waitress, Emily, was the real standout, though. She was friendly, funny and genuinely enjoyable to deal with. I wasn't sure what I wanted and mentioned that I was considering the chicken nugget sandwich. Emily immediately told me there was nothing wrong with "chicken nuggies" and that I should order whatever I wanted. That pretty much told me what kind of server she was. No judgment, no trying to upsell me into something I didn't want, just a good-natured "get the chicken nuggies." I appreciated it. There is something particularly enjoyable about a place like this when you aren't expecting to stop. We went from simply wandering around Meredith to sitting upstairs with drinks, food, live music and a great view of the lake. Those are often the meals you remember more than the ones you carefully planned. It can get busy, and I can understand why. The location is fantastic, the atmosphere is fun, the drinks are good and the staff are welcoming. It reminded me of somewhere you might wander into on vacation in the Caribbean, where the afternoon just sort of unfolds around you and nobody is in much of a hurry. We'll definitely be back next season. We didn't even plan on having lunch here the first time, and somehow ended up having a really enjoyable afternoon. I'd say that's a pretty good accidental find.

The outdoor beach bar right on the lake feels like a little summer vacation, which is about right as they're only open in the summer. It's laid-back, scenic, and the perfect place to settle in whether you are putting a boat in at the dock, or just coming to watch. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is super relaxed, and it's one of those rare spots where locals, tourists, and people just passing through all mix together. The food is decent, but honestly, that's not the main reason you come here. The exception: the lobster roll is fantastic and worth the market price. Generous portions. Otherwise, you come for the setting. A must-stop in Meredith. If you drink alcohol, try their mixed drinks!

We started with orange chicken topped with mandarin oranges and sesame seeds, along with pot stickers and a delicious pumpkin apple soup. Everything was bursting with flavor! The hostess was incredibly friendly and welcoming, taking the time to tell us about the drink and lunch specials. The service was excellent from start to finish! We were fortunate enough to be seated near a window overlooking the lake, and the fall foliage was absolutely breathtaking. The beautiful autumn scenery made an already fantastic meal even more memorable. Delicious food, outstanding service, and a spectacular lake view. What more could you ask for? Portion sizes are pretty massive. My dining partner got the meatloaf dish. It was absolutely ginormous! We were in an Airbnb without a full kitchen, so though we took it with us, he never did eat it. It was heavily glazed with something he did not like. Had it been glazed with a little lighter hand, he probably would not have minded it. But he did not like that flavor at all. The mac & cheese was good but again heavier than he likes to eat. The seafood dish I had, on the other hand, was very good. It had plenty of pieces of lobster in it, as well as generous portions of shellfish. The broth was also excellent. As this is a pricier place, we only made one trip during our 13-day stay. It is worth a visit here, and you'll likely get enough for a second meal. There were lots of good choices on the menu. I originally thought to give this place 5 stars based on my dish, but due to the fact that my dining partner did not make any effort to eat the rest of his meal he took home because he said he didn't like it enough, that took a star away.

We were seated right by the window with an absolutely breathtaking view of the lake. No matter what the food tasted like, this was going to be a great experience. We had been working all day, and after 12 days working the Laconia Bike Week, we were tired and just wanted someplace to relax. This was a great choice. We started with a Beet Salad for me and New England Clam Chowder for my dining partner. He seems to be on a roll to find the best clam chowder, as he's ordered it just about everywhere. He said this was good, and my salad was excellent as well. I got the Seafood Paella and he ordered the Crispy Duck. He said the duck was very good, and it came on the saffron rice that was served with my paella dish. The paella was jam packed with seafood. I'd say it's an Americanized version of paella, but was still very good. They do make saffron rice using real saffron as opposed to saffron powder. The shellfish was plentiful and had scallops, shrimp, mussels, and clams. There was edamame instead of peas, which is a bit unusual, but still good. All the seafood was cooked nicely. There was a little too much andouille sausage for my liking, which I removed. With all the food, there was no room for dessert. This was an outstanding way to end a very long week.

They had to move up our reservation by half an hr., but that was no issue & we didn't mind at all. I think a lot of the personal touches of being catered to made a difference, as well as the fact we were more than customers - felt more like friends. The lobster Rangoon's are a bit pricey ($6/ea.) BUT SO WORTH IT - I highly recommend this! The filling is INSANE. Crunchy outside with an awesome dipping sauce. They're large so I think next time I will order (2) with a side salad for a meal. Courtney was a very humorous, kind server that came by at appropriate times to check on us. Not sure of the hostess's name but she was lovely & brought us silverware when we requested. I believe that either a general manager or owner came over to check on us which was a nice touch. If you share the Pier Platter, note that there is a $5 'surcharge' to split where you allegedly get 'more sides' - I don't think that is necessarily true but boy, it's beyond delicious. There were (2) small dipping sauce cups of coleslaw on each plate, as well as waffle fries. One thing that knocked down a star is that the haddock seemed to be skimpy, possibly frozen. Flavor was great, but it was almost like a fish stick. In the past, we'd share a platter & received a large piece of fresh fried haddock. In summary, we love Shibley's & would never give up on going here. Reservations are highly suggested! :)

Enjoy some interesting cocktails, like the Skip and Go Naked which comes with an honorary pin! We had a lovely table and a great meal: the prime rib was cooked perfectly, the salmon was good and the haddock was good. Backing up a course, though, I must say that our entire table enjoyed the calamari with banana peppers so much! It was well flavored. The bread was... unique! And good. We also had a few types of oysters at the table and those were enjoyed. Dessert was great as we opted for the recommended Denver pudding. And an espresso martini!
