Quaint little place in a very touristy part of NH. I'd like to rate this place 2 1/2 stars but you know the drill. When you call something a "platter" , I expect a mound of food that is difficult to finish. Unfortunately, that's not what we got. The platter came with two small pieces of haddock, each smaller than a deck of cards, 5 small shrimp, and 4 small to medium size scallops. For size comparison, look at the size of the paper condiment cups and lemon wedges next to the seafood. The amount of waffle fries on the plate could fit in one of my wife's tiny hands. The food was hot, fresh, and tasty but I just can't get past the food to price ratio. The lobster roll was very good with a large amount of meat , but still a little pricey. It was a much better value even though I thought it was over priced. It contained the right amount of mayo and not too much celery. The service was friendly and attentive. 5* to the server. I hate giving such a low review for decent food, but for the same cost I could have eaten at a much nicer restaurant down the street. read more

Have had many different kinds of cheese accompany a hot dog, but this was just shameful. Imagine ordering a cheeseburger (from the same part of the menu as the hot dog) and getting a small sprinkle of shredded cheese in a cup... And for $1. Location, location, location. With outdoor seating right on the water, this is the perfect place to sit outside on a sunny breezy day and grab a bite to eat at lunch time. We love coming here to watch the boats. There is also indoor seating. Outdoor seating is dog friendly and the server brought our pup water (without us asking!). Service was very fast and staff was all very friendly. Menu is simple (grill cheeses, hamburgers, sandwiches, and some fried seafood options) but perfect for lunch. We had grilled cheeses, hamburger, BLT, and club sandwiches. The waffle fries are great. All the food we had was very good. While I love Bailey's Bubble, Dockside's ice cream is on a completely different level of amazing... their S'mores tastes exactly like s'mores and their "Mint Summers Night Dream" is the perfect mix between chocolate and mint. The view is the reason to come here. I will not be back. EXPENSIVE. All the food is typical fried food (fried clams, fried fish sandwich, etc), so I ended up getting a lobster roll, which was good- but $24 with chips, fries were $1.50 extra. Very little mayo on it, which I like a lot. We sat at the table closest to the water, so the breeze and view of boats coming and going to the dock made it worth while. We had to ask for a water refill twice. I treated my friends so 2 waters, one sparkling water, two lobster salad rolls (one on gluten free roll), one fried clams platter and the bill was $82. Yikes. Glad I had a hundred in my wallet. with the tip, it ate that up fast. read more

I was coming down to Wolfeborough over my vacation in Alton to see the boats here. Every year I've come down to the Dairy Bar here, but never in the past have I actually visited the Dockside Grille. I stopped here as it was much more casual than some of the other options on Route 109, all of which are more formal, more expensive. This was the perfect place to stop for the mood of the specific day and was clean, friendly for anyone and had a great menu too, between both the Grille and Dairy Bar. The menu includes a variety of American foods, burgers, clams, fish and chips, hot dogs, sandwiches, salads, chicken, clam chowder, and more. The most dissatisfying thing about this place was that a piece of cheese cost over $1. Staff are friendly, prompt, and quick with service. Servings are large, filling and very reasonable. Interior of the restaurant is full of booths, while a bit "crowded", I'll say, they are doable, clean, and comfortable. At least twenty tables inside and ceiling fans as well. The dairy bar is another story. It's definitely five stars. The service is always 100% accurate, FAST, and friendly. Seating available all around the common, and even when the lines get long, you won't be waiting too much. The menu there is also lengthy including flurries, frappes, sodas, a few soft serve ice cream flavors, and a whole list of regular ice cream flavors. Never a problem there and definitely the best in Wolfeborough. In closing, this is a perfect place for either a quick, relaxing, cheap dinner or an ice cream cone. Either way, it's a decent establishment I would suggest. 4 stars. read more

Had lunch here with family. Food was good along with the service. One thing you have to try are the onion rings!! They're crispy, tasty and seasoned just right. I had the fish sandwich, which comes with potato chips and coleslaw. The fish was fresh and was very good. Coleslaw was ok, not Bad but not the best I've ever had. I ordered an iced tea and after putting in four sugars it didn't taste any better, so I got a water. Service was good and fast. This place is definitely not like the original Baileys Dockside. I am not sure what was the worst part of my experience, being packed into a booth that was so small the table was pressing against my ribcage, the service that was so slow we had to refill our own water, the ridiculously high prices, or the that the people we complained to did not seem to care all that much about our issues. As for the prices I really only have myself to blame. We should have asked what the market price was on the lobster roll before we ordered the $25 sandwich and chips. Atmosphere 3 - The view of the lake was nice but the booth are definitely designed to pack as many people in as possible. If you are a person of size you definitely do not want to eat inside. I realize 80 is not very hot but when you are crammed into a small space with a lot of other people it can fell a bit warm without AC. Service 0 - For the kind of money they charge I would expect the waitress at the table more than just to take our order, bring our food, and bring the check. Cost/Value 1 - The food was way over priced for what you get. Food 3 - The food was okay. I was not wowed by any measure but it wasn't bad. read more

This is probably the worst place to go for seafood. We ordered pretty simple dinners, one fried shrimp platter, two fisherman's platters, and one fried clams/scallops plate. The orders came out, we received three shrimp plates and one fried shrimp/scallops plate. We corrected the waitress, and received two fisherman's platters and one plate of clams about 10 minutes later. Although one of the plates still was not correct, we gave the plates a try. The fried shrimp was obviously cooked shrimp cocktail breaded, battered, fried, and thrown onto a plate. It tasted awful. The clam strips were not cooked, they fell right apart, and there was raw batter throughout the plate. The waitstaff was absolutely terrible after finding that our order was not correct, our original waitress ignored us for the rest of the dinner session. Absolutely would not reccomend this restaurant. read more

Tried to order a drink and some waffle fries. Was told that it would be over an hour wait (even for takeout). It is not like they are a top NYC steak house where you have to reserve a table weeks or months in advance. They are a dockside grill and takeout counter. Dockside Grill is A-OK. No big complaints. Pretty standard lakeside grille with lobster rolls, fried fish, fried shrimp, burgers, etc. They have indoor and outdoor seating. They serve Pepsi products. The service was pretty good. Usually about once each summer we will come down to Wolfeboro by boat, have lunch here and get some ice cream and walk around. read more

We had an OK lunch at Wolfeboro Dockside Grille & Dairy Bar. The views from the outside seating were great. We had the lobster salad, which is market price, for us that meant $27. The lobster salad was a bit dry, and it's over a bed of mostly iceberg, so the whole thing felt over priced and not very good. We also had the waffle fries which were better than I expected - crispy and fairly light. Our waitress was friendly and efficient, though taking our credit card took awhile. Went here on a Saturday night with my husband and my son. There was a wait to sit outside so we decided to eat inside. The view of the lake is fantastic here and it really can't be beat! My only complaint about this restaurant and it could be my own personal preference but it bothers me so I'm going to mention it. I really don't care for waffle fries and they come with most entrees. My husband and I both got fish and chips but substituted onion rings for the fries. I thought the fish was very good. The fish was flaky and moist, the onion rings were also well cooked and did not have too much batter or grease and they were not cut too thick. My husband wasn't as happy with the onion rings as I was but again that could be personal preference. My son got chicken fingers and waffle fries. He ate it all but his opinion of it was just meh. We all had hot fudge sundaes for desert and they were good. A little light on the hot fudge compared to others I have had elsewhere. We all had soda to drink (pepsi products only) They take credit cards and I thought the service was good. Just a quick tip, the lobster roll was $21.00 the night we were! That is simply too much for some lobster stuffed into a grilled hot dog roll! I passed on it. I would give more stars but its my second time here in two years, and I can't get past the waffle fries and the price of the lobster roll. Get some regular fries to offer your patrons, geesh they are all frozen, can't be saving that much on waffle vs. regular! May be going somewhere else next summer and just go here for an ice cream and the view. read more

The lunch/dinner food is fairly decent and are of average prices, but the view of Lake Winnipesaukee is what is what is a turn on. Not only do you get a view of the lake, but if you go at the right time, the M/S Mount Washington or the Winnipesaukee Belle boats will dock, and both are very pretty ships! I don't eat meat so I asked if I could just add the egg and cheese to a house salad and I was told no they would have to charge me for a chef salad and just not put the meat on it. That would be 12 for some iceberg lettus with a little cheese and an egg. Basically 8 dollars for an egg and some cheese. The "lobster salad" was that same crappy salad with a icream size scoop of lobster meat for 22 dollars. There are lots of other way better places in the area. I emagine the only way they stay in business is because of the location and tourist that don't know any better. read more

Overall I liked this restaurant but it gets minus 1 star for no liquor license (sorry, I like my beer)! The waffle fries were good, and my husband liked his chicken fingers, but my lobster roll was just so-so. The lobster salad seemed to be served into the hot dog bun with an ice cream scoop and then squashed down, so the bun was wrecked and lobster kept falling out into my lap. The fisherman's platter wasn't overly priced and now I know why. It wasn't large and the best part about it was the waffle fries. The shrimp, scallops and fish were fried in an average batter and weren't plentiful. It was average. I enjoyed it but was disappointed due to my expectations of a Lake Winni Dockside grill. O and no alcohol, a fisherman's platter isn't a meal without a cold beer. The deck seating was nice and relaxing and the waitress was on par. Very little gluten free options for my mother in law. Unbeatable views from the dock! We've had burgers, grilled cheese and fries multiple times while waiting for boat rides, and all have been good. We've had a lot of so-so dining experiences in Wolfeboro over the years, this place has been consistently decent for comfort style food. Ice cream portions are generous as well. Your kids will be happy here, your picky in laws might not be. I would give this 3.5 if I could, it's not quite at 4 star in my opinion. Service is fairly prompt from the take out window... we've never actually eaten inside!! read more
