Medium raspberry chocolate chip frozen yogurt $4.74
    Susan B.

We usually avoid RT 16 on the weekends but here it is Tuesday and it almost 90° out. Stopped in for some "hometown" ice cream. It is from Bliss Dairy. Huge portions for the size and price. I had a medium cone of Black Raspberry chocolate chip frozen yogurt and it was just $4.75 and a small dish of cherry Rocky road. They are also known for their fried foods and lobstah rolls. That'll be for another day. Ice cream did not disappoint

Great service and atmosphere! ice cream: The pistachio ice cream tastes like the classic pistachio liquor flavor, i love it. Cookie dough ice cream is good too. Birthday cake was yummy if you're into that. Medium twist with chocolate sprinkles was dang tasty. Grape Nut was great too! food: great fries The mt. washington hot dog was awesome. The chicken parm sandwich was good but the sauce was a lil sweet. It had lettuce on it which was hot and yummy.

    The ice cream selection.

We had lobster rolls the other night and they were very good. Had to come back and get ice cream. Lots of flavors. I was really impressed. The ice cream picture is a small cone. We waited to see if anyone ordered a medium or large. Everyone that came in for ice cream ordered a kiddie size which was the lower scoop.

    TACO DOG!

Hot dogs are really good and pretty inexpensive. You can even add on fries for 1.50 which is definitely worth it. I always get the taco dog. Ice cream is good as well, I recommend the cookie ice cream sandwich which is very cheap and just enough food for a snack after dinner. The subs are pretty expensive for what you get.. 6 dollars for a chicken parm when all you get is a single chicken finger in a sub roll. The sauce was good, but there wasn't enough cheese on it for my taste. They just added these this summer so they might still be experimenting. I would definitely recommend this place for hotdogs and ice cream.

My local tour guide reports that this place looks just like it did 30+ years ago when this was the post little league reward stop. It's held that standard for a long time people: road side ice cream, hit dogs, hamburgers. This is what it is. I like that I was asked if I wanted my hot dog buns toasted & that soda comes in cans with a cup of ice on the side. (I think canned is better than fountain for quality control). The deluxe hamburger at $4.75 was fantastic. I equivocated and got the $4 Mt. Washington dog in an effort to increase my live food intake. (Sauerkraut) but wish I'd done the burger, cest la vie. I want to give 4.5 stars bc those fries were skimpy, yo but I'm giving 5 anyway to even the score from Amy who must have hit this joint on a bad day. This place is clearly one of the regular employers of local teens & for that and many other reasons is worth your time after a hard day of vacationing or little league!

Best ice cream I ever had claimed my 10 year old son, weary from traveling, as we pit stopped on route to North Conway. Burgers, hotdogs and fries also served at this no nonsense window-service joint equipped with screened in porch-patio picnic tables.

Service was stellar the entire night. The staff was so friendly, knowledgeable and hard working; a very popular and busy establishment. We had draft Pacifico beers which were nice and cold. We just had to try the baby pork shanks appetizer with zippy peach BBQ sauce served atop fennel and cabbage slaw with grilled peaches. Absolutely splendid dish! For entrees (which includes a salad and focaccia bread) we ordered the herb encrusted prime rib and the chicken saltimbocca. Both were extremely gererous portions. The chicken was moist and flavorful and the mushroom cream sauce was heavenly! The mashed potatoes and fresh veggies went perfectly with this dish. The prime rib was surprisly tough and chewey, but once we notified the staff, they did everything to try to make it right. We finished off with a limocello digestive. We were well taken care of and enjoyed the ambiance of the space and the vibes at the bar. The restaurant and restrooms were spotless. Small parking lot or on street parking. Reservations are strongly recommended as this place fills up fast!

They were potato shells, with American cheese melted on top with a strip of bacon... they tasted freezer burnt. As I said, no fryer so everything came with ridge chips. They were very good. For main meals we got 2 chili dogs. The chili on the dogs was pretty good, but I knew what it would do to me later. The grilled buns and dogs were just fine, the service was great! The decor is definitely poor people's pub style. So it all depends on what you are looking for. Cheap, frozen to table food, that's more economical? Then they're the place you'd like to hit up! If you're looking for a bit more then I'd suggest going elsewhere. They are handicapped accessible and they have a large private parking lot. This is definitely a dive bar where locals come regularly. The food was okay nothing special but did the job. The turkey BLT with cranberry mayo was missing the mayo. I do have to say the hobo special which is a Reuben sandwich was outstanding! That is one thing they have going for them. It's not somewhere I would go out of the way to eat at but if you are passing thru it's not terrible especially because passing thru there are not many places to stop at.

They once did whole chicken which was pretty perfect outside on the old patio. Pretty much impossible to undercook something you smoked for hours but very easy to dry it out, and it was great. Actually brought the whole fam there that day including our dog. It's petfriendly outside. They have three main beers that you can always get, and then about another 3 beers or so of rotating and experimental beers/ciders. If you want to get an idea of the staff this is from my first visit there a few years back. I actually think this was towards the beginning of Covid. We had to get out of dodge and enjoy some relaxation by the lake. When we showed up everywhere we drove by the spots we normally frequented and everywhere was closed, sometime near 8 pm. We did a search and found that here was open and headed over as fast as we could to try to get something to eat. Unfortunately the grill just closed, and we resigned ourselves to a liquid dinner. The chef then pokes his head out and offers to make a pretzel for us, and we could not have been happier. It was a big one too. The staff was just so welcoming and seemingly very happy that we were there... which is not always the case in the general area... that Burnt Timber became one of our usual spots instantly. Each time we've been back it has always been that way, which is even more rare not just here but back in the Boston area as well. So again if you like smoked and fermented things in an unpretentious atmosphere with very friendly staff I'm pretty sure you'll love this place too
