    Twist with sprinkles
    Henry F.

Great service and atmosphere! ice cream: The pistachio ice cream tastes like the classic pistachio liquor flavor, i love it. Cookie dough ice cream is good too. Birthday cake was yummy if you're into that. Medium twist with chocolate sprinkles was dang tasty. Grape Nut was great too! food: great fries The mt. washington hot dog was awesome. The chicken parm sandwich was good but the sauce was a lil sweet. It had lettuce on it which was hot and yummy.

    The ice cream selection.

We had lobster rolls the other night and they were very good. Had to come back and get ice cream. Lots of flavors. I was really impressed. The ice cream picture is a small cone. We waited to see if anyone ordered a medium or large. Everyone that came in for ice cream ordered a kiddie size which was the lower scoop.

    TACO DOG!

Hot dogs are really good and pretty inexpensive. You can even add on fries for 1.50 which is definitely worth it. I always get the taco dog. Ice cream is good as well, I recommend the cookie ice cream sandwich which is very cheap and just enough food for a snack after dinner. The subs are pretty expensive for what you get.. 6 dollars for a chicken parm when all you get is a single chicken finger in a sub roll. The sauce was good, but there wasn't enough cheese on it for my taste. They just added these this summer so they might still be experimenting. I would definitely recommend this place for hotdogs and ice cream.

My local tour guide reports that this place looks just like it did 30+ years ago when this was the post little league reward stop. It's held that standard for a long time people: road side ice cream, hit dogs, hamburgers. This is what it is. I like that I was asked if I wanted my hot dog buns toasted & that soda comes in cans with a cup of ice on the side. (I think canned is better than fountain for quality control). The deluxe hamburger at $4.75 was fantastic. I equivocated and got the $4 Mt. Washington dog in an effort to increase my live food intake. (Sauerkraut) but wish I'd done the burger, cest la vie. I want to give 4.5 stars bc those fries were skimpy, yo but I'm giving 5 anyway to even the score from Amy who must have hit this joint on a bad day. This place is clearly one of the regular employers of local teens & for that and many other reasons is worth your time after a hard day of vacationing or little league!

Best ice cream I ever had claimed my 10 year old son, weary from traveling, as we pit stopped on route to North Conway. Burgers, hotdogs and fries also served at this no nonsense window-service joint equipped with screened in porch-patio picnic tables.

The haddock was really large, and also tasty. Its a pretty simple sandwich apart from that... lettuce and a bunch of pickles. Comes with a generous side of fries. Also shared a brownie fudge sundae. This was also quite simple. Nothing really special, although its a really large serving for the price. Looks like it can get busy... we had to wait a few minutes.

On this evening, it was relatively slow and we only waited about 5 minutes before being seated. Usually, we come in Friday nights and have learned never to do that again (we came on a Tuesday this time around). We ordered fried pickles and calamari for apps. They aren't huge portions - enough for 2 people per app. Two of my boys weren't feeling fish so they had a burger and the other a BLT and we were all pleasantly impressed with how they came out. The captains platter can feed three people at least! It is heavy on the shrimp and they come with clam bellies, not strips - so keep that in mind. I got Ray's wrap - nothing too special but it was tasty. They also have onion nuggets - which I have never seen before and were delicious!! All the fried food was fried very well. Not too greasy and nice and crispy. Our waitress was amazing. She was so sweet and really genuine! I love that in a waitress. The place itself is cozy. It's divided into a few sections. There is outdoor seating but I haven't seen it ever used since the COVID days. All in all, we love this place and I'm sure you will too!

Service was stellar the entire night. The staff was so friendly, knowledgeable and hard working; a very popular and busy establishment. We had draft Pacifico beers which were nice and cold. We just had to try the baby pork shanks appetizer with zippy peach BBQ sauce served atop fennel and cabbage slaw with grilled peaches. Absolutely splendid dish! For entrees (which includes a salad and focaccia bread) we ordered the herb encrusted prime rib and the chicken saltimbocca. Both were extremely gererous portions. The chicken was moist and flavorful and the mushroom cream sauce was heavenly! The mashed potatoes and fresh veggies went perfectly with this dish. The prime rib was surprisly tough and chewey, but once we notified the staff, they did everything to try to make it right. We finished off with a limocello digestive. We were well taken care of and enjoyed the ambiance of the space and the vibes at the bar. The restaurant and restrooms were spotless. Small parking lot or on street parking. Reservations are strongly recommended as this place fills up fast!

Had to get a stove part next door and got hungry. It just so happened to be New Years Eve…read more We walked in at 4:40 pm and there was one other couple in the dining room. They asked if we had reservations and we said no. The hostess had 2 hightops available and we said yes. She then informed us that tonight was a set 3 course menu. We glanced it over and said ok. I ordered a Cesar, Prime Rib and 2 sides. I got creamed spinach and mash potato. My friend ordered the Eggplant Parm. She got a salad with hers but no sides were offered with the set menu . The waitress came back and told me the Prime Rib was sold out/spoken for so I had to make another choice. I chose Chicken Saltimbocca with the same sides. Cesar was good, nothing special could have used more dressing as it was light.....def not a classic homemade dressing. Meals arrived 15 minutes later just as we were finishing our salads. Mine was definitely not Chicken Saltimbocca! It was just Chicken breast with HAM! and Holindaise sauce ontop. There were a few slices of spicy ham ontop also but.....not.what the dish is supposed to be. Crazy what you get up in these backwoods places. My friends Eggplant parm was served with ricotta cheese! That also was a first. Chef had to be putting his/her on flair on CLASSIC dishes but mucked it up bad. We had to eat it because it was NYE and we were hungry and an hour from home. One star for warm fireplace and one star for desserts....peanut butter pie and my brownie was a 10 out of 10. Chef needs a tune up and make a round turn with menu items. Then they only ordered enough Prime Rib for reservations only!?!?!?! Sorry or the rant......they won't see me again.
