We stopped in mid afternoon for a drink and their nachos, as we had passed by earlier in the day and it looked like a nice place. We got the New Fashioned (maybe young fashioned?) just a nice twist on an Old Fashioned. Very good drink. Then we got the nachos with chicken delivered. Holy cow, they were great. Spread out on a pizza dish, all the cheese was melted evenly, lots of peppers and olives and cheese and chicken, and no soggy chips! Was seriously great. Not sure why this place has only 3.2 stars. My husband and I stopped by for a late lunch. We both ordered the meatball sandwich. I had the onion rings and he had fries. It was hands down the best meatball I've ever had. Went this past weekend again. Beautiful night, ate outside. Watched the world go by while having drinks and waiting for our food. I have been in off season and food comes out right away. But in July and August expect a little wait. We had a pizza (my favorite pizza) and tried the Ziti, Broccoli and Chicken and a Caesar salad. We tried Nolan's because our usually place was not open and it was our 29th wedding anniversary. The atmosphere is your classic pub style. The seating on a bench was extremely uncomfortable as the pads had no pad remaining. Sitting on a wooden chair was slightly more comfortable. We order an appetizer of calamari...lesson learned don't order seafood when you're inland. They were super hard and chewy and lacked flavor. We also had the steak tips which were tough and undercooked but my husband decided to eat them. His also came with risotto and summer squash. I had the chicken Marsala which according to their photos, should have been loaded with mushrooms. It had hardly any mushrooms, lacked enough Marsala "gravy" to moisten the linguine and chicken. It was also very very salty. Bottom line...we came, we saw, we ate and we went. Most likely won't be returning. The. Best part of the restaurant was the amazing waitress, Holly S. This was our first time eating at this establishment.... I was craving a pizza. I walked in to order a white pizza with chicken, spinach & onion with mozzarella cheese to go and requested the pizza to be ready in 40 minutes instead of 20 minutes. Over an hour later I walked back into the restaurant to check on the status of my pizza and the young lady who took my order said my order was never placed into their system. The excuse was our internet went down. Without an apology she had a pizza made in a timely manner, but never addressed the fact that they never placed my order. When we got home we opened the box to find a pizza with a few pieces of chicken, a few pieces of Spanish, and maybe three slices of onion, and was like warm (I live five minutes away). After heating a few pieces we took one bite and threw it away. The cost is over priced, the taste was left to be desired, & I am disappointed in their customer service- not expecting free, but did expect an apology of some sort. The calamari was delicious, great portion for an appetizer. The build your pizza was ok, maybe we should have just chosen the pizzas on the menu. The crust is very thin btw so if you place more than two toppings it does get heavy and break when you pick it up. The fish and chips were good it was haddock. The Caesar salad was delicious as well. Food was okay, but when they advertise a $7 cheese, pepperoni, OR mushroom pizza as the Sunday special, and we order a 1/2 cheese 1/2 pepperoni - they charged us $17.51 for one pizza. I asked the waitress why the special didn't apply, and she said it's because we ordered a half pepperoni. Where is the common sense? I could have ordered a cheese and a pepperoni for $14 total. $3.51 less than what I paid. We live 30 minutes away from Wolfboro. Every time we're in town the kids always ask to go to Nolans's for their pizza and pasta. Their pizza is thin and crust is soft and fluffy. My husband especially like their shrimp pesto pizza. The kids loved their fettuccine, creamy and saucy. Service was friendly the past few times we've been. My wife had the Haddock Sandwich, it was good, the fries were good. My sister had a Mediterranean Focaccia and didn't like it, but she is a picky eater and she ate a little off of everyone's food. In the summer when the crowds come it's frustrating to get any information - no one answers phone, no one is at the host desk to tell you if there is any hope of getting a table. But that could be just due to staffing challenges so I didn't take a star away. The food is fine - the pizza is great, pasta and parmesans are good. Warning - the BLT is not "classic style" as described on the menu...it's in a wrap which is just wrong for a BLT (some bites all L, some bites all T, some bites all B - it's just wrong). read more
