I can't say I've tried everything at the Yum Yum Shop, but I can say I've tried. Whether it's the cookies, the donuts, the ice cream, or the bread, I've always walked away with a good impression. Everything is fresh; the blueberry wallpaper reminds me of Cape Cod; and the packaging feels nostalgic and homey as I can walk away with a decorated white box of pastries. Today I tried the orange cranberry bread. While I had stopped in hoping they might have some sourdough, this was a light and fluffy treat. Just to be sure, I tried toasting a slice with butter when I got home. Itwassoyummy (sorry, just had to finish chewing there), but it was so yummy! We were not impressed by the service here. It was starting to rain so we went inside to order ice cream. There was a boy/guy inside socializing when we first got there and was at the counter - we figured he was ordering ice cream and eventually realized he wasn't. After waiting 5+ minutes and being told that they were going to be with us shortly we were told to go outside to order our ice cream. We went outside, ordered our ice cream ($28 for a frappe, kiddie ice cream, small and medium ice cream). We were told to get our ice cream at the next window down. While waiting the same guy from inside and now a friend came over and started socializing with one of the employees at the pick up window. She was not taking orders or filling orders. Maybe she was on a break - I don't know but maybe socialize elsewhere. We were given attitude the whole time we were there. All this to say we weren't thrilled with the service and will be going elsewhere next time. The shop itself was cute and the donuts looked really good but after the ice cream fiasco we didn't want to be there anymore. I got cool T-shirts for myself and my mother in law and my five year old actually ate his whole cookie. Wow this place is really something. I was greeted with a wall of treats so vast, the view would send a diabetic into anaphylactic shock. When I ordered my cream filled doughnut, all 10 crew members attempted to hand me it at once. I was overwhelmed with generosity and cream filled pastry's. However, upon finishing my dessert, I was hit with a wave of bowl movements unlike anything experienced by man. The cream cried for escape and I had no other option than to let it. Through blood shot eyes and shaky hands, I gripped the wall around me as the beast exited my body. The roar echoed through the land and the winds ceased to blow, the birds silenced themselves, and the sun hid away from the world. When in Wolfeboro you must plan a visit. This place is both bakery and ice cream shop. Although a summer destination for many we visited in April and found they serve ice cream year round. Nice selection of flavors. I chose a small black raspberry and mountain blueberry on a cone. Whoa! Had to get a cup so as snot to lose some of the two huge scoops. Remember this is small! They also sell medium and large. Who knows what those look like. As far as the building, it's spotless clean and right on the water. You can sit at a small table outside or at one of many tables inside. This place can seat a lot of people. My family and I love the Yum Yum shop and frequent it often. The pastries and coffee are yummy (pun intended) and the service is excellent. However, I have noticed a change in their apparel supplier. They are now using a company called The Lonely Ghost and the prices are exorbitant! A Gingerbread Man sweatshirt is $100 and to make matters worse, everything is emblazoned with the Lonely Ghost label. Granted, the previous prices were not inexpensive but we were willing to pay for the cute things. I feel like now they are supporting a California "influencer" brand that "fosters connection" instead of using their usual suppliers. We went there today and asked about a pumpkin donut and a couple other things she didn't give me an entirely clear answer so I bought what was said to be a pumpkin donut. It was gooey with a purple filling and not a hint of pumpkin. I'm usually not a huge fan of gingerbread cookies but these were delicious. They were soft, chewy and the perfect amount of sweetness. Their yeast donuts were to DIE FOR. They were so fluffy and light. I just couldn't get enough. This place wasn't too busy as we went during the offseason and there weren't many shops open. Ever on a trek to find a genuinely good donut in New Hampshire, I drove the nearly 2 hours to reach the Yum Yum Shop in Wolfboro. I originally saw this place on The Chronicle on WMUR, they have told the store of the Yum Yum Shop in detail, I knew I had to make the trip. I visited in June and again in July. Not ideal times for travel in this area as vacation season is in full swing. First time I had to drive around a bit to get a parking spot, the next time I got caught in a bike road race that extended my trip. Point is, parking is a premium! What I noticed on The Chronicle is the branding and quality of the products and service provided here. I walked up and it seemed smaller than I expected, but once inside, the bakery cases were stocked and there was a line to place an order. Of course I bought the gingerbread men and yes, they are the real deal! There are two types of gingerbread men, iced and the more traditional cookie cutter gingerbread men. I think the cookie cutter gingerbread men are the best. The cookie is spicy and flavorful (the point of a gingerbread cookie)!! But the iced gingerbread men have the wow factor, they look awesome! I have bought donuts here as well and I am glad to report these are very good donuts. They are clearly fresh and well-made. I love me a donut, but 2 hours does seem a bit far to go to get one! Make a stop by the Yum Yum Shop, but make sure it is during the warmer months, I think they close in the winter (I could be wrong!?) read more

Such a shame they can't offer any gluten free pastries not contaminated but more importantly how hard would it be to offer gf ice cream cones?? They do have gf flavors for ice cream but what a treat it would be for celiacs and gf allergy folks to have a gf cone too!! Prices are excellent and generous portions! There isn't much we can do to get teenagers out of bed early while on vacation at the lake, but if we say we're going to get breakfast at Yum Yum, they'll be up and at'em. My only complaint is the decision I have to make. I want one of everything in the display case, but I forced myself to just choose ONE and enjoy it. Service is friendly and patient, and they have decent coffee, too. Part of me wishes it was closer to home so we could go there more often, but that would be really bad for my waistline.
