For apps we shared the special beet salad and the lobster guac. Salad was tasty. The guac was very nice, with delish homemade tortilla chips the lobster was a nice twist, not overpowering but enough to make it interesting. For mains, our table had the cod (excellent), the short rib ragu (flavorful), the swordfish (solid, nicely cooked), and a special chicken/sausage pasta dish (ok, not standout). We were impressed. It's a restaurant! Get softer lights and them them down a notch, enough so people can see the menu but not so bright that you feel like you are inside a tanning bed. The small bar area had a huge TV pointed towards the restaurant and playing Guardians of the Galaxy. Interesting choice. Food: 4 out of 5. It's hard to give 5 stars on food with so many good restaurants, but the food was fresh and delicious. Quantity: 3 out of 5. We got a scallops wrapped in bacon special app. There were literally 3 scallops on the plate. Portions for dinner were much better. No bread or anything else on the table, which would have been nice since it took a fortnight to get our food (more to follow) Service/Timing: 1 out of 5. Very polite and courteous. That's pretty much it. Here is the timeline of dinner: Nobody came to get a drink order for 10 minutes. Finally got drinks 10 minutes after that. 5 minutes later we were able to put in our food order. Appetizers took another 25 minutes. For those keeping track, it was 50 minutes from when we sat down, to when we got our 3 scallops. Well, those were gone in less than 3 minutes, then waited 30 minutes more to get food. So dinner didn't hit our plate until nearly 90 minutes after we sat down. At no point along the way did the waitress apologize for the delay. Our dirty (and finished) appetizer plates sat on our table for 15 minutes after we were done. Can't blame the waitress for food coming out slowly, but at least clean the tables, offer us something while we wait, or have a general clue that we were waiting forever for food. On the way out, saw two tables who came in shortly after us, with no food yet, looking completely dismayed. Price: 1 out of 5. For the pleasure of this poor service and dastardly long wait time, dinner entrees are all priced in the $30+ range (yes, a Ramon dish was $32). I don't mind the high prices if the service, ambiance, and food were deserving. They weren't. Daily Bistro menu looked more reasonable for pricing, but I don't feel like aging a year waiting for food to come so likely won't be back. read more

I ordered the chicken BLT and we ordered scallops with bacon for an appetizer all of our food was absolutely delicious and priced accordingly! Kudos to the chef ! The hostess katie that sat us was also exceptional in service and personality. We enjoyed our overall experience and will definitely come back...If there was something that was lacking I would say it was the ambience... The restaurant overall lighting was a bit too bright for an intimate dinner! I would recommend this restaurant... and encourage everyone to come and meet Lex at the bar... There is such a welcoming atmosphere here and a great staff. I had the bartender make me a spicy pineapple margarita and it was delightful! All the food items I try here are delicious. Need to have another entrance to the existing one because any table close to the door was cold. We sat away from the door but you could still feel the cold air rush in. I stopped in at Alexandra's Bistro at Thirty Pines Plaza in Penacook for dinner recently. They took over the former Donatello's Pizza space. The space was redone when has wood floors and wood laminate walls, table seating, high top tables and a small bar. The menu offerings here include a decent menu variety including salads, appetizers, pasta dishes, sandwiches, smashburgers, steak, chicken, seafood, and desserts. The prices here are moderate high, most entrees $16 to $32 range. They also offer daily special items not on the regular menu. I was seated in the dining room near the window. I looked over the menu and quickly decided to order off the regular menu. I started out with the Cheddar Cheese Croquettes ($12 plus tax) which were 3 breaded deep fried cheese balls over a plum tomato & golden raisin chutney. The crispy cheese balls were filled with soft white cheese, slightly cool inside. The chutney had good sweet and zesty flavors. Next, the Braised Pulled Pork sandwich ($16 plus tax) had tender lean pork pieces with a sweet BBQ sauce and tangy crunchy cole slaw in a soft egg bun served with hand cut shoestring fries (soft texture) and a dill pickle. For dessert, the Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee ($9 plus tax) was on the sweeter side topped with fresh strawberry and blueberries over the caramelized top. The check for one was $40.14 with tax and before tip. Overall, the food was good and the service was prompt. The place got busier as I was eating. The couple at the next table ordered the coconut shrimp appetizer special which they said was okay. Another couple ordered the cheese croquettes and they said it was great. I got the braised short ribs, cooked perfectly and very tasty. Came with some mini potatoes and green beans. My wife got the shredded chicken sandwich. The chicken was moist.
