This was a mistake. Went with my parents last night and waited over an hour and a half for our food. The beers were only 3/4 full with the rest being foam. I got the steak tips advertised as "maple bacon onion jam, broccoli, house cut fries". What I got was frozen broccoli, frozen store brand quality fries and 4 steak tips. The rice on another dish wasn't fully cooked but we didn't say anything because we'd already been there for over 2 hours. No one's food in the restaurant looked anywhere near the pictures online. They had one poor waitress to work all the tables inside and out. Bill for 3 people was $200 before tip. read more

I had read about this restaurant in the Granite Quill and finally in the area to check it out! We had lunch and it was delicious! The cocktails were awesome as well! Staff friendly and restaurant very clean. We started with the roasted asparagus & tomatoes with buratta and balsamic glaze. Delicious! Highly recommend. It is tucked away behind Tory Pines. We will definitely be returning! read more

Ambiance is about a 2 This is a strip mall restaurant and inside is relatively basic. A combination of high tops and regular tables Service was extremely poor we were there for an hour before we could order our entrees and then only because we asked Food was disappointing...an odd eclectic mix of Asian, Italian, American pub Crab Rangoon dip ruined and overpowered by Thai sweet chili sauce Tuscan chicken starlet bland, sword fish "fishy" tasting and quesadilla ok but ehh Not sure why it's a bistro nothing French about it! Because it took so long to get our food we had to forgo dessert. $200 for 3 adults and a child. read more

The food was definitely the star here. Yum! Server was friendly as well and the ambiance was warm but a little cliche. I wld hv given 5 stars if it wasn't for the really long wait for the food. We wld hv been ok waiting if we were informed when we were ordering, that every dish is made to order and may take a minute because the chefs are rly passionate abt their food. Coz truly, the food was excellent. It just took so long to get to our table. And it wasn't busy. Maybe 5 tables max. Maybe some rolls wld hv helped ease the wait-time. All in all, I wld still recommend and return. Just hv a snack first! read more

The food here was amazing! I got the butternut squash ravioli and it was an easy 12/10 -- super flavorful and perfectly cooked. We also tried the fries appetizer, and it did not disappoint -- crispy, seasoned just right, and honestly kind of addictive. The whole place has such a relaxed, family-friendly vibe, which made the experience even better. Definitely recommend checking it out! read more

Excellent. We don't live in the area, so we took a chance on the place for lunch after checking out Yelp. It was a great choice. The salads were tasty and fresh and the steak tips were plentiful and cooked perfectly. Our only regret is that we don't live closer! read more

We have never had a bad meal here. Sure, they have been short staffed like many places, but we were told up front. This is one of our favorite places to go to just because it just a nice, cozy place. Staff has always been keen to answer any questions. The new fall menu is out now. Go. Enjoy. read more

Don't short change this place! The food and drinks are amazing! My husband has steak tips, cooked to perfection and he said the bacon onion jam makes the dish! I had sea scallops and the cream sauce they are resting on with the spinach and sun dried tomatoes! Yummy..not to mention the amazing sweet potato fries! Felt like eating a real fry, not too airy. Our server was very attentive and was great! read more

Excellent food and service. I had the salmon entry which was cooked to perfection and the crème brulee was the best I've ever had. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

We haven't been here in a long while due to their high prices. But tonight we brought my daughter and son in law to have a drink and appetizers. I know the wait time has always been long here, but tonight was the worst. We were seated and 15 minutes went by with Noone coming to our table even if to pour us waters would have been nice. We were just about to leave when the bartender came to take our order. It too a l9ng time to get our drinks. My husband's 15 dollar drink was 3 quarters full. My daughter's and my mango margaritas had no rim or garnish. 15 dollar drinks should look like it! We got chowder that was served in a small cup. It was delicious but for 9 bucks I would expect a bowl. So all and all, prices are high for what you get, wait time is ridiculous even when it's not busy, and items are not presented as advertised on the menu. Some bread or rolls and small side salads would be good to have while waiting, and also should be included for meals that are so high priced. It had been over a year since I'd been here and it may be the last visit. read more

First time at Alexandra's. Big thumbs up. It's cute and cozy. All the staff we interacted with were warm, friendly and helpful. The food was very, very good. For apps we shared the special beet salad and the lobster guac. Salad was tasty. The guac was very nice, with delish homemade tortilla chips the lobster was a nice twist, not overpowering but enough to make it interesting. For mains, our table had the cod (excellent), the short rib ragu (flavorful), the swordfish (solid, nicely cooked), and a special chicken/sausage pasta dish (ok, not standout). We were impressed. Definitely recommend. read more

Another fantastic meal. We don't visit this end of town often but Alexandra's is worth the trip. The lamb meatballs were tender and savory. The special of surf & turf pot pie was delicate, rich, and delicious. the braised short ribs stole the show! Our server Danny was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and attentive. read more

Delicious! Space inside is nice and cozy, warm. Staff was laid back and friendly. The food was great! We got a special app - pork belly tacos. My cavatelli was packed with flavor. Smash burger was cooked perfectly although fries were a little over salted. Coke products! The creme brûlée was delicious. Strawberry cake was good but not great. I'd love to watch their menu choices as they continue in their first year. Don't mind the photos, I forgot to take them before I dug in! read more

REDUCE THE OVERHEARD FLUORESCENT LIGHTING TO IMPROVE THE AMBIANCE! PLEASE! But other than that, wow what a gem of a place! Unassuming spot in a strip mall, but top notch food and service (Emma was amazing!). Lamb meatballs, filet mignon, and apple crisp were standouts but all the food and drinks were truly excellent and service was the best you could ever hope for. Fantastic! read more

Ambiance: 1 out of 5. The decor wasn't bad, but the light was like being inside an operating room on the table. It was daylight, but using harsh recessed florescent lighting turned up to 11. It's a restaurant! Get softer lights and them them down a notch, enough so people can see the menu but not so bright that you feel like you are inside a tanning bed. The small bar area had a huge TV pointed towards the restaurant and playing Guardians of the Galaxy. Interesting choice. Food: 4 out of 5. It's hard to give 5 stars on food with so many good restaurants, but the food was fresh and delicious. Quantity: 3 out of 5. We got a scallops wrapped in bacon special app. There were literally 3 scallops on the plate. Portions for dinner were much better. No bread or anything else on the table, which would have been nice since it took a fortnight to get our food (more to follow) Service/Timing: 1 out of 5. Very polite and courteous. That's pretty much it. Here is the timeline of dinner: Nobody came to get a drink order for 10 minutes. Finally got drinks 10 minutes after that. 5 minutes later we were able to put in our food order. Appetizers took another 25 minutes. For those keeping track, it was 50 minutes from when we sat down, to when we got our 3 scallops. Well, those were gone in less than 3 minutes, then waited 30 minutes more to get food. So dinner didn't hit our plate until nearly 90 minutes after we sat down. At no point along the way did the waitress apologize for the delay. Our dirty (and finished) appetizer plates sat on our table for 15 minutes after we were done. Can't blame the waitress for food coming out slowly, but at least clean the tables, offer us something while we wait, or have a general clue that we were waiting forever for food. On the way out, saw two tables who came in shortly after us, with no food yet, looking completely dismayed. Price: 1 out of 5. For the pleasure of this poor service and dastardly long wait time, dinner entrees are all priced in the $30+ range (yes, a Ramon dish was $32). I don't mind the high prices if the service, ambiance, and food were deserving. They weren't. Daily Bistro menu looked more reasonable for pricing, but I don't feel like aging a year waiting for food to come so likely won't be back. read more

We tried Alexandra's for the first time tonight, we sat at the bar Lex was our server... He did an outstanding job! Our drinks were spot on... My husband ordered the short ribs. I ordered the chicken BLT and we ordered scallops with bacon for an appetizer all of our food was absolutely delicious and priced accordingly! Kudos to the chef ! The hostess katie that sat us was also exceptional in service and personality. We enjoyed our overall experience and will definitely come back...If there was something that was lacking I would say it was the ambience... The restaurant overall lighting was a bit too bright for an intimate dinner! I would recommend this restaurant... and encourage everyone to come and meet Lex at the bar... He helps sell this restaurant and aided in us having a positive enjoyable evening out! read more

Very quant seating environment. Not a lot of tables but that's ok. We got there early enough and dining room filled up fast. Waitress very attentive and nice. Menu very precise and to the point. Good selection of food. Beer menu ok. Wish they offered more local beer but we survived Food prices a little on the high side but man it was good! Well worth the prices. Need to have another entrance to the existing one because any table close to the door was cold. We sat away from the door but you could still feel the cold air rush in. Not a deal breaker by any means. A little smoky in the dining room when we left. Maybe need more or better ventilation. All in all great place to eat. Hopefully they'll grow soon and get out of that strip mall they're in. We'll be back! read more

There is such a welcoming atmosphere here and a great staff. I had the bartender make me a spicy pineapple margarita and it was delightful! All the food items I try here are delicious. My personal favorite is the Brussels. Best in the WORLD, I swear. The fried pickle app is so flavorful and fun as well. The ritz crusted cod hit all the spots! But seriously, you can't go wrong with any of the food or drink choices. The desserts are made in house and are so worth pushing your stomach the extra mile for. This is a must go to in penacook. read more

I stopped in at Alexandra's Bistro at Thirty Pines Plaza in Penacook for dinner recently. They took over the former Donatello's Pizza space. The space was redone when has wood floors and wood laminate walls, table seating, high top tables and a small bar. The menu offerings here include a decent menu variety including salads, appetizers, pasta dishes, sandwiches, smashburgers, steak, chicken, seafood, and desserts. The prices here are moderate high, most entrees $16 to $32 range. They also offer daily special items not on the regular menu. I was seated in the dining room near the window. I looked over the menu and quickly decided to order off the regular menu. I started out with the Cheddar Cheese Croquettes ($12 plus tax) which were 3 breaded deep fried cheese balls over a plum tomato & golden raisin chutney. The crispy cheese balls were filled with soft white cheese, slightly cool inside. The chutney had good sweet and zesty flavors. Next, the Braised Pulled Pork sandwich ($16 plus tax) had tender lean pork pieces with a sweet BBQ sauce and tangy crunchy cole slaw in a soft egg bun served with hand cut shoestring fries (soft texture) and a dill pickle. For dessert, the Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee ($9 plus tax) was on the sweeter side topped with fresh strawberry and blueberries over the caramelized top. The check for one was $40.14 with tax and before tip. Overall, the food was good and the service was prompt. The place got busier as I was eating. The couple at the next table ordered the coconut shrimp appetizer special which they said was okay. Another couple ordered the cheese croquettes and they said it was great. I will have to try a pasta entree next time. read more

Nice atmosphere on the patio. Excellent service. The pulled pork sandwich was moist and delicious. Ask for a little extra coleslaw because it's fresh and yummy topping. The food was pretty good here but the atmosphere leaves a bit to be desired. The lights in the dining area are uncomfortably bright and industrial which was kind of awkward. Service was good and food quality is good. My biggest complaint is that there isn't a great air vent system so when you leave there everything you brought in smells like fried food. Had to have my wool pea coat dry cleaned because I couldn't seem to get the food smell from being there out of it. read more

Ridiculous prices that you can get better food elsewhere. I am a New England hearty eater that is affected by inflation. Cheapest menu is 20 dollars on a burger. Small cozy restaurant with upscale food. Restaurant is small, it's in a strip mall, so I would recommend to make a reservation. The food was excellent, all fresh made. I got the braised short ribs, cooked perfectly and very tasty. Came with some mini potatoes and green beans. My wife got the shredded chicken sandwich. The chicken was moist. The fries are 'shoestring' type and were good. We also got dessert. I got the creme brûlée, very creamy and was delicious. My wife got the apple crisp tart and that was very good. The crust was like a cookie. The entire waitstaff was very friendly. The tables are kind of small and it is a bit loud when busy. Overall a very pleasant experience. read more
