Lime Da Coconut - A tall glass filled with a creamy white drink topped with whipped cream and a lime wedge, placed on a coaster on a wooden table.

The food was excellent. The vibe and the view are spectacular. We plan on moving to NH and this will be a spot we will keep coming back to. Great drinks too at bar. Friendly employees. Lime drink was the best drink in my life. And we travel a lot.

We were up in the Squam Lake area and happened across Walter's basin. It's a beautiful restaurant with waterfront seating. It's the middle of winter so it was ice front seating, but it was fun to watch all the activity out on the ice. We sat at a high top in the bar. Place is actually quite large, it's kind of deceiving from outside. There's a big bar, an area that looks like a back up bar, and the dining room. Service was great, and the food was even better. They have a great wine list and a cocktail menu with something for everyone. We ordered bloody Mary's and started with poutine with the optional short rib, it was so good! For lunch, I had beet salad and Ahi wontons. Hubby had the chicken Cobb salad. Everything we had was really delicious and I would not have changed a thing. The Ahi tuna was super fresh, as were all the ingredients in the salads. We were originally planning on different entrées, but the poutine was so giant. We ended up getting lighter fare. We will definitely be back next time we're in the area. I imagine the views of the lake are beautiful in the spring, summer, and especially fall.

Balsamic Steak Tip* - A plate of salad featuring grilled meat, crumbled blue cheese, bacon bits, lettuce, onions, and other vegetables.

The restaurant is very popular on the weekend, if you do not want to wait, a weeknight would be an easier time to get a table. Parking is mostly limited to street parking. The restaurant has really nice seasonal decorations giving an inviting vibe. If you come before dark, there's a nice view of the lake. The ahi tuna wontons were a good appetizer with a nice wasabi aioli drizzled over with the sweetness of the seaweed salad. The steak tip salad had a really nice dressing and a good portion of steak. There was a little too much gorgonzola cheese that overpowered the flavor for my tastes. The seafood paella was really good with a good amount of seafood overall, it did only come with one shrimp.

I don't often give 5 stars, but this place deserves it. Great water views and great service and great food. All of our dishes had lots of flavor and tasted fresh. The design inside wasn't modern, but it wasn't old. It was a beach/lake house vibe and felt a bit fancier than what we had expected. They had an hour wait on Saturday, but we came in on the following Monday and we're seated right away. I would definitely return if I'm on the area again! Definitely recommend this spot.

Turkey BLT - A close-up of a turkey BLT sandwich with toasted bread, bacon, turkey, and mayonnaise, served with French fries.

We stopped here as part of a large group on a bus trip. Food came out immediately - and it was hot. Restaurant opened early to accomdate our group. I had the French dip minus the cheese- mom had the turkey BLT. I had ice cream for desert , mom had tiramisu. Both were fantastic. I'm not a fan of vanilla but this was by far the best vanilla ice cream I've had in my life. Fries weren't my favorite- would have liked hand cut or natural (these had the crunch batter on the outside). But they were hot. Beautiful views and really nice and friendly wait staff. Defiantly a place to stop on the lake.

There was live music in the bar but we wanted to sit for dinner so we sat in the dining room. The water was really great. Brought water to us as soon as we sat down and took our drink order. They had an okay selection of beers on draft but nothing that u really loved. Espresso martini that one of us got was good, not great but good. The ahi tuna bowl was amazing. Our son had it and said that everything was great. My wife had the Cape Cod Rueben, which is her favorite go to and said it was phenomenal. Our daughter got the chicken fingers and fries and said the fries were her favorite. I got a grilled chicken sandwich and the breast seemed a bit cookie cutter and not really fresh. The apples in my sandwich were more like a jar jam and wasn't very good. The brioche bun was okay but overall the sandwich was a disappointment. I will say the basket of fries was the highlight for my meal. I ordered the key lime pie to go and it wasn't very good. The menu said it was world famous and won competitions but in my travels, this was about a 3 out of 10 of all the key lime pies I have had. Overall, our visit was good and they deserve 5 stars for service. If we ever go back, I will try something different. I'd recommend giving it a try.

Just up the road in Campton, we discovered Covered Bridge Farm Table--and what an amazing place. The food is incredibly fresh and truly farm-to-table. The staff was super friendly, and our waitress was fantastic. We both ordered the clam chowder, which is gluten free and absolutely delicious--exactly what we needed to warm up. We also ordered the Cowboy Chips, and fair warning: they disappear fast. They were amazing, with the smoked Gouda being the perfect finishing touch. Definitely not your average nachos. As an added bonus, the restaurant overlooks a covered bridge and a river, making for a wonderful view while enjoying our afternoon snack. The menu overall looks fantastic, and we'll definitely be back to try more dishes.

A look at the menu and you get the sense they are trying to appeal to a very broad variety of tastes. Also makes you wonder if they can they pull off everything? For the most part. Ordered the Ruby Red Tini which was pretty good though it would have been better with fresh jalapeño. The brine from pickled jalapeño took away from the grapefruit. I didn't hate it. Italian wedding soup was good if from a can. French onion soup was good. Dinner rolls (not complementary) were good. Wedge salad was on point. Prime rib was cooked to order, nice thick cut, drowning in au jus which flooded the plate. I didn't care for the canned beets which were just ok, the loaded baked potato was overcooked, fries were good. Service was very good. Worth a visit at least once when in Moultonborough.
