We were headed north so the four of us stopped in to 6 burner bistro in Plymouth. What a wonderful surprise. I had the peanut noodles as did another and the steak and the pasta. All was really really good. It was also one of the better Manhattans we've had. They knew how to make a perfect Manhattan. Came here when we were in town visiting family. Plymouth is a pretty small town and doesn't have a ton of dining options. This place is cute. Looks like an old house converted into a restaurant. Bar area is cozy. Arrived early so we bellied up to the bar for cocktails. I asked for a Hemingway daiquiri, the bartender didn't know what that was, so he asked what was in it. He had all the ingredients and was quick to oblige following my directions. Now usually, if a bartender doesn't know how to make this drink I typically opt for a G&T to keep it simple. But he was eager and I felt bad saying no. I gotta say, it was probably one of the better Hemingway's I've had. I was pleasantly surprised at the balance in the cocktail and how well he made it. Kudos! We made our way to our table for dinner, server was super polite and friendly. She told us the specials. I opted for this shrimp dish with rice noodles. It was decent. My husband ordered a chicken dish with I think blue cheese, I can't remember for sure. It was not good. Father in law had scallops, it was just ok and a tad overcooked with a strange accoutrement (scallops bruschetta), that I personally would never order because the combo just doesn't sound like they belong together. Mother in law had the same dish I had, she was ok with it. Dessert was good. Wine: we ordered a bottle, server came back and said they were out of it. Ordered a different bottle, server came back and said they were out of that one too. Third bottle we chose was in house, but ordering 3 times and settling for something you probably would have not ordered off the bat was a let down. Overall everything was average except my cocktail and the service. I would come back for cocktails and service, but don't see a need to come back for the food. read more

Fall in New England means leaves changing color and Six Burner Bistro. I love how the rooms are broken up and we had a party of six originally but two cancelled last minute so the four of us tended to get a bit loud. Chef Sam seems to taken over the kitchen reigns seamlessly though so most in our party were unaware of this change. The bistro salad remains unchanged with walnuts, feta and a light maple vinaigrette dressing. The calamari appetizer was also lightly battered and tasty. My bruschetta chicken was excellent as well. The warm bread, drinks and service continue to make this venue 5 star dining in the White Mountains. read more

A home run. What a great location on Main Street of a small college town. The old home is a delightful setting for a dinner. Everything about the evening was great. The pork belly special appetizer was amazing with a maple glaze. Another special was the blackened tuna which which barely touched the grill. The salsa served with it was amazing and almost stole the show. The pork Schnitzel was really good too, the blue cheese was so different! Tables were well spaced so you didn't have to listen to other people. For a starter my husband got a bowl of crab & corn chowder. It was very tasty. And a sizable serving too. I got the shrimp scampi dish which was very unusual befit was served over spinach and fontina ravioli! The ravioli and the sauce were really good but unfortunately the shrimp were over done. My husband got the veggie paella with salmon. His salmon was too done for him but paella under cooked. It didn't have those authentic crispy edges of real paella. The host (?owner) was very friendly and helpful. Our waitress was okay. Did her job but no personality. We would definitely dine here again if in the area. read more

Stopped by after some fall colors chasing in October. We had the Crab and Corn Chowder, Seared Salmon with Peach Chili Glaze, and their special the Harvest Bowl with Tofu. This is a Main Street restaurant without the Main Street price. I was a single diner for the evening and they were able to seat me immediately. I ordered an amaretto sour and it was spot-on. For dinner, I ordered the crab corn chowder and the filet mignon with smashed garlic potatoes and snap peas. I also had the garlic butter sauce on top of the filet. And EVERYTHING was great. I was able to get out under $60 with a generous tip. I highly recommend Six Burner Bistro. I only took a photo of the crab corn chowder. I forgot to take one of the steak. read more

My wife and I are on vacation and went to Six Burner hoping for a "high end" dining experience. Overall, we left the meal feeling it was good, but could have been much better. The atmosphere was relatively quiet and enjoyable. The service was excellent. The portions were larger than we expected. The wine list was nice. The bread was enjoyable. We started with the Peach & Prosciutto Crostini and were disappointed. The peach and onions overtook all other flavors. We could not taste the goat cheese. For our salads, I ordered the Caesar and was quite disappointed. It was a larger serving and had the components of a Caesar, but I felt like it was a "Caesar in a bag" from the local grocery store and the dressing had no remnant of a Caesar dressing. My wife ordered the Bistro salad, and it was one of the highlights of our meal. The dressing was divine, lettuce quite fresh and the accoutrements were excellent! For my entrée, I had the Buffalo Macaroni and Cheese. This is one of the best mac and cheeses I have experienced! The Buffalo flavor was good, but it could have used a bit more chicken. Again, the portion size was large, and I took a good amount of it home. My wife ordered the Seared Salmon and felt it was okay. The mango flavor was lacking, and the rice and vegetables were pretty plain vanilla. The fish was cooked well. We were pretty full and did not venture to try dessert. Overall, the experience was good, but I am not sure if it is on our short list to return. read more

Celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary at Six Burner last night. From the greeting by the hostess, our fabulous server, Shannon, to the most delicious food, the evening was perfect. For those who have not been, the atmosphere is classy, tasteful, and comfortably upscale. Appetizers were wonderful; warm goat, cheese, with roasted garlic and a peach bruschetta, which was out of this world. Our main courses were outstanding, a mixed grill, composed of the lollipop, lamb chops, steak, tips, and shrimp; another stand out was the lobster, ravioli, smothered in lobster chunks, and a delicious sauce. Creme Brulé for dessert topped off our dining experience. It was an epicurean delight. read more

My brother from NY called me and told me and my fiancée he wanted to make us reservations here. We went in At 7:00 on a Tuesday night and we were welcomed by a very nice lady(hostess) who was patient with us when we couldn't decide on where to sit. We had a little dining room to ourselves and it was perfect because we were celebrating our new engagement. Our server was Rebekah. She was very outgoing and funny. She was very quick and eager to get us whatever we needed. Dinner was great my paella was too spicy for me but it was great and the presentation was beautiful. Everything was great, we went to the front of the house to pay our bill and we had big smiles on our face! UNTILL, this terrible terrible woman whom I believe her name is DEVON , Rudely yelled in my fiancé's face " put your mask on!!" And not even a nice way to put it, we were on our way out and she yelled like that to him. It took me everything in my power to not slap her in the face ( because trust me I would've ) and not even that, DEVON continues to make faces at us!!! This place was recommended to us by a friend. We were visiting the Rumney area and wanted to go venture out to dinner for an evening. Located near downtown Plymoth it was easy to find. There were a few parking spaces out front, but ample street parking. Six Burner Bistro is located in an 1850's farmhouse which added to the charm of this place. The staff was friendly from the hostess to our server. She always had a smile and was receptive to our needs throughout our dinner. She let us know they use locally raised beef and shop daily for the freshest produce gathered from farms in the Plymouth area. They even have their fish flown in fresh!! WOW - now that's farm to table, which I love. We stared with the Calamari: with a sweet and spicy Thai sauce, seaweed salad and wasabi/saracha cream. I really was excited about this until it came out and the calamari was covered in the sauce. I had a dipping sauce in mind and the sauce was too sweet and overpowering for my tastebuds. I definitely ask them to put it on the side next time!! But our main dishes were great. We opted for the swordfish and steak n mushroom specials. Both were cooked perfectly with beautiful fresh veggies bursting with flavor. I ate every last morsel on my plate! Overall a very pleasant evening indeed. I was excited to update my review when I heard the restaurant had a new chef and menu. However, I left disappointed. I ordered the baby kale and roasted fennel sandwich with tempeh and no cheese. When my food arrived, I found cheese on my salad. I sent it back, and the server came back within one minute with the same salad. I wasn't happy but decided to eat anyways. The salad was not particularly good, although the tempeh here has always been delicious. I was disturbed to find that there was still cheese mixed into the salad, so I had to pick it out by hand. My server also didn't refill my water and didn't seem to care about the kitchen's mistake. Poor experience. This place could be so great if they had a basic vegan option like a Beyond burger with their really good tempeh. Oh well. read more
