    Clam Linguine
    Marisa T.

One of the most disappointing meals I've had in a long time. The service was incredibly slow. It probably took 20 minutes alone to get our water. We really enjoyed the appetizers--beef carpaccio and lamb meatballs--but that was it. Every single member of our party was disappointed with their entrees. Personally, I had the clam linguine which was not actually linguine... it was fettuccini. There was hardly any sauce; it basically tasted like water. Actually, the whole dish is a misnomer because there was such a small portion of clam included. We had to ask the waiter for more cheese just to give it even a pinch of flavor. The ambiance was not the worst part of the meal, but that is unfortunately not saying much. On a positive note, they did take a surf and turf dish off our bill because we alerted the staff that the lobster did not taste fresh, in our opinion. Cannot say I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially for the price.

If you're a foodie and enjoy a truly crafted fine dining experience then you need to visit Trenta. I have dined with them 4x. This is Wolfeboro's hidden gem for local farm to table cuisine. You will be greeted by a friendly and engaging staff. The complimentary amuse-bouche is a perfect start. Your culinary experience will be well paced , don't expect to be rushed through your meal, this is not a seat them and feed them tourist trap. A skilled waitstaff will assure you are well cared for. The artful hand crafted cocktails and rare bourbon list are not to be missed. I was delighted with the creative take and premium quality of their award winning Bolognese, the back by popular demand fan favorite pork chop and the artful halibut. You will want to end your meal the crème brûlée. Trenta is exactly what Wolfeboro needed.

I had the privilege of dining at Trenta this Sunday, on Mothers Day. This was my first experience dining at this lovely restaurant. The moment I entered, I was immediately impressed with the ambiance and aesthetically pleasing charm this restaurant has to offer. Trenta has a gorgeous bar, separate from the dining room, rustic decor, beautiful tablecloths, napkins and small details like fresh flowers and lit candles on each table. We had a reservation for Mother's day and we were promptly greeted by Jill, who was so warm and welcoming. Our server, Felicia was wonderful! She was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. She answered our questions thoughtfully and presented the specials upon arrival. We ordered two signature cocktails: a gin fizz and watermelon cucumber spritzer that were made by the fabulous bartender, Sara. They were absolutely delicious and garnished beautifully with tiny flowers, perfect for a warm spring day. We decided to start our meal with the Thai Mint Shrimp, (which were huge) and so tasty! The mint, coconut and chili peanut dressing was sublime! For entrees, we ordered the slow roasted rib with horseradish whipped potato and borsin asparagus, the smoked salmon gnocchi and homemade mushroom fettuccine. We shared our entrees to savor all the amazing flavors. The ribeye was cooked to perfection and served with a mouthwatering au jus. Rob and Bill exceeded my expectations both in creativity and presentation. It was truly a perfect meal. Our dessert was a chocolate raspberry torte- the portion was extremely generous and the presentation was even better! Served with a delicious compote, each bite was memorable. The fudge-like texture was rich and satisfying. Thank you, Trenta for providing a superior fine dining experience that we did not take for granted. This restaurant is absolute perfection, if you are looking for an upscale, creative restaurant in charming Wolfeboro- this is it!

I ordered the lobster dinner - when the lobster arrived, the shell was rock hard and EXTREMELY hard to open. Everyone else was done with their meal, and I was still working on the first claw!. Then to make matters worse, the lobster meat was far from sweet and had an ammonia like odor, leading me to believe it had been in the tank way too long. As if that wasn't enough, the corn on the cob was dried out and tasteless - I only took one bite. I hesitated to bring this to the server's attention as I was there with my family to celebrate my 70th birthday, and I didn't want to make a fuss. Let's just say I will not be ordering lobster there again, and am hesitant to go back at all!

The wait on a Saturday at 5 was fifty minutes. We asked if we could order drinks or some appetizers for the kids to pick on and we never got an answer. Seating at the bar was really hard to get also. There was only one little spot to stand and wait for a drink and it took a very long time. Once you're in though, the food it's great and there is a nice view of the lake. You may even get to see some water skiers working on their jumps. There are some picnic tables out near the boats if you're just coming back from a day on the lake. Prices were reasonable, large portions and everyone left full. I had the fish sandwich. It was a fresh filet, lightly batter and lots of fries.

They once did whole chicken which was pretty perfect outside on the old patio. Pretty much impossible to undercook something you smoked for hours but very easy to dry it out, and it was great. Actually brought the whole fam there that day including our dog. It's petfriendly outside. They have three main beers that you can always get, and then about another 3 beers or so of rotating and experimental beers/ciders. If you want to get an idea of the staff this is from my first visit there a few years back. I actually think this was towards the beginning of Covid. We had to get out of dodge and enjoy some relaxation by the lake. When we showed up everywhere we drove by the spots we normally frequented and everywhere was closed, sometime near 8 pm. We did a search and found that here was open and headed over as fast as we could to try to get something to eat. Unfortunately the grill just closed, and we resigned ourselves to a liquid dinner. The chef then pokes his head out and offers to make a pretzel for us, and we could not have been happier. It was a big one too. The staff was just so welcoming and seemingly very happy that we were there... which is not always the case in the general area... that Burnt Timber became one of our usual spots instantly. Each time we've been back it has always been that way, which is even more rare not just here but back in the Boston area as well. So again if you like smoked and fermented things in an unpretentious atmosphere with very friendly staff I'm pretty sure you'll love this place too

The people at the bar were making fun of others as they came in, making us very uncomfortable. The beer menu was very small. We understand that can happen with a small brewery. We tried one beer and the cider. Both were very light and almost had no distinguishable flavor. My husband's burger was delicious. My nachos, which were cold, had very little topping and arrived well after his burger. The restroom was not very clean and had no toilet paper. We won't go back.
