First, currently they are only doing takeout (June 2023) which I did not realize until we arrived. Ordered three meals from the menu and waited to take it home. All of the meats and the rice were rather bland. The duck sauce (at least I think that's what it was supposed to be) was an odd yellow color. This Chinese restaurant is average food, but good service. The combo plate had quite a lot of food, but compared to some of my favorite Chinese restaurants, taste was a bit bland. There were no veggies in the fried rice, only egg. Someone mentioned all-meat egg rolls but ours were all shredded greens. There were some flies annoying us at the table. Ugh. The restaurant could use some cleaning and updating. If the owners updated the curtains, washed and painted the dirty wallboards, ditched the fake flowers, updated the bathroom walls, added some music (improved the atmosphere), it could be a better restaurant. read more

I was excited to try Sea Bird as some locals gave it good reviews. I ordered the beef and string beans and an egg roll, and was very disappointed. The dish had some of the strangest combination of flavors that I have ever tasted and my wife agreed. Also, the dish had so little beef in it they should change the name to string beans with some beef. The service was quick, but given the restaurant is take out only, there really isn't anything to say about the ambiance. read more

We got take-out this weekend. It was the worst Chinese we have ever had. Everything was super greasy. The chicken fingers were chewy and had an odd flavor. The beef teriyaki was gross. Drove by the place for years and never went in because the building looked rundown. Read that Romney liked it a lot so I gave it a try and was shocked at how good the food was. The chicken meat is white and tender, particularly in the General Gao's, and the vegetables are high quality and fresh. One of my favorite Chinese restaurants anywhere! read more

The people that run Sea Bird are very good people, and the tangerine beef is, by my fairly urbane standards, genuinely fantastic. I have it every time I go there, but there's a lot good on the menu, and their soups (hot and sour or wonton) are very tasty. They also execute pork fried rice very nicely. read more

Casual, friendly atmosphere. Friendly staff. But I didn't care for the food at all. Maybe it's the Wolfeboro municipal water supply, but everything here has a vague dishwater taste for me. A few bites and I just couldn't stomach it. And I tried everything, even the white rice. Soy sauce couldn't kill the flavor. While my wife didn't think it was good, she didn't think it was as bad as I did, and the couple we were with enjoyed it. So it seems I have just nullified my own review! In the sleepy town of Wolfeboro, there are a surprising amount of places to eat. This happens to be a favorite of my father's. We were promptly greeted with that "regular customer" feel as soon as we walked in. I have to admit, this city slicker was a bit hesitant to eat Chinese in the heart of New England, but I really enjoyed my meal. We were driving through and decided to get togo, we had been here one other time years ago, and weren't impressed then, but decided to try it again. What a huge mistake. Just moved up here from the Portsmouth area and was dying for some Chinese food. Thankfully my first try was a good one. This place is really good. Lo mein, Rangoons, everything was delicious. I always try and order one random thing off a menu just to try it. I got the twice cooked pork. Oh my god. Awesome. I've gotten it twice since the initial order. Highly recommend. The only thing I'm unsure of is if they have a bar. Ive only gotten take out and if there is a bar its not visible from the entrance. read more

Excellent service and food. I've been going here for a very long time and although the chefs often rotate, I have never had an unpleasant experience. Nothing is greasy (unless, obviously, you get something fried) and all the sauces and spices are great (although mildly spices, so if you want a kick, you need to ask for it). Also great for vegetarian options, which is often hard to find in Wolfeboro. Most importantly, when compared to the only other Chinese restaurant in Wolfeboro, this is infinitely the better choice. read more

I recently visited my mother for the weekend and was craving chinese food. West Lake, which I LOVE, was closed for vacation so we gave this place a shot. We ordered takeout... I sometimes love "bad" chinese food (i.e. greasy, fried and not healthy at all) but this was actually Bad. I ordered crispy shrimp and my mom got duck. Also got an order of fried rice and crab rangoon. I could not eat the shrimp - ate one and that was it. Even the rice was inedible. Whoever posted about everything tasting like dish water was right on! We ended up tossing the food and warming up some soup instead. read more

Found a huge piece of hair in my take out food. Went to return it for my money back and the women (I believe owner) argued with me denying there was a hair. When I opened up the box she then proceeded to pull on the hair which was so disgusting and long. When I looked at her puzzled and disgusted she then began to rudely tell me to leave while pointing to the door. I responded with I want my money back, while continuing to point to the door she told me my card would be refunded. Of coarse it never was. This is your average greasy Chinese food restaurant. I mean, it definitely hits the spot when you're craving it. I frequented Seabird during my high school days, and the servers never seemed to mind that we were rude and loud. They just put us separate from the rest of the customers. We usually enjoy Seabird. Every summer we go for Chinese and then play mini golf. This year we got chinese to go for the first time and sat on our dock. My 13 year old son was chewing on his crispy Szechuan beef and stopped. He started trying to get something out of his mouth. When he pulled it out, it was a staple which was in the beef. Once we recovered from this we decided to call and let them know. I told the woman who answered the phone and her response was "I am sorry to hear that." Now, maybe if I went into the call yelling and being angry I would have gotten farther. I tried being rational but concerned especially since it was a child it happened to. We should have at least been offered a credit for that one dish if not the whole meal. It seems like some sort of health code violations were broken when a staple is in your dish... Sorry Seabird, you lost us as a customer. It was a nice tradition while it lasted. read more
