Nice ambiance, even better if you can get a table outside. Great people watching. Service was ok as was the food. The shrimp cocktail had the shells still on them, so you had to do the work to pull them off. The fried chicken sandwich lacked flavor, but the fries were decent and the draft beers were cold and fresh. I'd give them another try, maybe sitting at the bar next time and trying their appetizers. Nice, welcome addition to Wolfeboro - just think it needs a bit more work to give it more stars.

Gotta love the ice rail to keep your beer cold!

Great food. Lobster roll was tender and flavorful. Crab cakes outstanding. Clam Chiwder light and delicious. Service was good and attentive.

Amazing food--loved the cheddar beer soup and the smash burger. Beware--portions are large! :)

Wolfe's Tavern - Not your typical tuna martini, but oh so good.

This place is not dead, peeps! Yes, they have undergone a…read morechange of hands/ownership over the past couple years, and they are trying to crawl out from that. But this cool, historic tavern is still alive and well! Come show some local support. We are Rhode Islanders, and have been coming up here for almost 40 years, and this place holds a dear, sweet place in our heart. We did not partake in food this time around, but it looked and smelled amazing. The drinks/wine were wonderful. Give them a shot! You won't be disappointed!

I'm going to assume it was the bartender, who was shockingly rude, sarcastic, and disrespectful, to say the very least. Not my first experience with this bartender either. The bartender's and server's at Wolfe's Tavern are absolutely horrible. They have reprehensible attitudes and are colossally rude to customers. I asked for a simple clarification of their operating hours. This man was indignant and impolite, calling me out for bringing a discrepancy to his attention!! Uh..what?! I've been a resident of Wolfeboro, NH, for 70 years. This establishment once stood as the landmark for elegant dining, professional and competent administration and staff, and was respected throughout the Lakes Region. You once had an Executive Chef named "Hoke" many, many years ago...a quintessential gentleman with great culinary expertise, who frequently would come out of the kitchen, go table to table, introduce himself to all the patrons, and ask them if their meals were up to their liking. This man "made" The Wolfeboro Inn, almost singlehandedly. When he resigned because of a difficulty with management, the place plummeted...nearly overnight. Fast forward to August, 2025, and it is now worse than ever. I'd recommend Dunkin' Donuts on Center Street, or The Bay Diner on Main ahead of here. It's no wonder today's bartender refused to give his first name...no doubt fearful of this review(!) or one in The Granite State News, aka "The Grunter."

This was our first visit on a Saturday evening and we were glad we made reservations as it was packed yet still maintained a great atmosphere. Our male server Burak was very attentive, professional, and very friendly. We ordered the Lavash with the mixed appetizer - tabouli, Mediterranean salsa, hummus, and Haydari. Chicken and Beef Kabobs as our entrees. Their signature cocktail Istanbul Peach Martini and a glass of Autorotas Sauvignon Blanc. As always the Lavash was amazing as was the Kabobs. The Kabobs came with a scoop of white rice, potatoes and a great salad with no lettuce, just marinated tomatoes. Cucumber, onion with herbs.

They got the beef kabob and shrimp sauté. All excellent. I preferred the pistachio baklava. The Turkish cookies were tasty - a bit too sweet for me. It is in the old train station on the border of Maine and NH. The lighting is comfy and staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The time between the meal and dessert was a bit delayed as our server seemed to forget about us. The first time I went there I ordered the falafel wrap -delish!
