The outdoor table was a total win--great ambiance, good vibes, and the perfect setting for a night out with seven girlfriends. I went with the fish tacos, which came loaded with plenty of fish--so no complaints about portion size. The only thing missing was a little more flavor. The cocktails, however, brought the fun! Overall, a great spot for a group, especially if you can snag a table outside. Good atmosphere, fun cocktails, and enough fish in those tacos to make you feel like you got your money's worth. read more

Our experience last evening was fantastic! Dined in the bar area and watched so much great food come out of the kitchen. We had oysters and a burrata special for appetizers. The fresh flavors on the burrata plate were so good. For entrees we had swordfish, steak and fried clams. Everything was delicious. Attentive service as well. read more

2 of us sat outside for an early dinner that was very pleasant. Maybe being outside results in the service being a bit sparce. Pint glass was chipped/cracked. The Salomon and Fish and Chips were excellent, just too many French fries that they used to fill the plate. No claw slaw which was dissapointing. The very young server did her best but spent most of her time with her inside tables. We would go back for the seafood. read more

I have been coming to Wolfetrap Grill & Rawbar for a number of years, and always enjoyed the experience. However, my most recent meal there was very disappointing. I ordered the lobster dinner - when the lobster arrived, the shell was rock hard and EXTREMELY hard to open. Everyone else was done with their meal, and I was still working on the first claw!. Then to make matters worse, the lobster meat was far from sweet and had an ammonia like odor, leading me to believe it had been in the tank way too long. As if that wasn't enough, the corn on the cob was dried out and tasteless - I only took one bite. I hesitated to bring this to the server's attention as I was there with my family to celebrate my 70th birthday, and I didn't want to make a fuss. Let's just say I will not be ordering lobster there again, and am hesitant to go back at all! read more

Best food and seafood in the area. Get there early. Always worth the wait if you can get in.

Great casual dining on paper tablecloth makes you feel like you're right on the coast!! our go-to entre is the swordfish tacos. It's great to eat when it's fairly warm out and the windows are open and you feel the breeze coming off the Back Bay. read more

Ordered the sword fish was absolutely delicious served over mashed potatoes with spinach.

How do you stop doing takeout orders at 5pm. Didn't see anything at all on the sight and drove 30 minutes. What a joke!

Make sure to call ahead for a reservation any night of the week. It's a larger spot but they do not have many servers so you'll often see empty tables. The wait on a Saturday at 5 was fifty minutes. We asked if we could order drinks or some appetizers for the kids to pick on and we never got an answer. Seating at the bar was really hard to get also. There was only one little spot to stand and wait for a drink and it took a very long time. Once you're in though, the food it's great and there is a nice view of the lake. You may even get to see some water skiers working on their jumps. There are some picnic tables out near the boats if you're just coming back from a day on the lake. Prices were reasonable, large portions and everyone left full. I had the fish sandwich. It was a fresh filet, lightly batter and lots of fries. read more

The seafood here is quite good. Clams, scallops and two versions of the seafood platter. Plus onion rings and fries always good. Ask for a side of atomic sauce, it's cocktail plus a healthy dose of horseradish. Powerful yet keep going back for one more dip. The place is not cheap but it's a nice place to eat out. Their drinks especially the coconut ones were so tasty. read more

Great local watering hole on the marina. Reservations recommended for dinner, even during the week. We waited about 20 minutes without reservations. Friendly staff, fun and casual atmosphere. Great food. Tried the clam pizza for an appetizer. Lobster roll was fresh and well seasoned. The bouillabaisse seafood was not a traditional bouillabaisse, closer to a cioppino. It was like a wonderful marinara sauce that had been turned into a thick soup loaded with seafood and it was wonderful. I'd order this again and again and again. read more

I order the 6 oz. lobster roll it was very good as well as the seafood chowder. Conversely, the lobster roll was very expensive. my wife ordered the fried seafood platter and was disappointed in that the entire plate was overcooked and the clam strips were very dry. we have been there many times and it will be awhile before we spend that much money on a mediocre experience. Note, they did offer to replace my wife's dinner. read more

Been there many times, sometimes very good other times just ok. Food is good especially if you like fried seafood. Sometimes staff act like you are bothering them. Definitely make a reservation or wait time can be extreme. Overall very good. read more

My friend and I were drawn here looking for a lunch spot that was dog friendly. The servers were so kind and accommodating and brought out a bowl of ice water for our pups. It's a beautiful restaurant right on Back Bay. You can pull right up to the dock on your boat or jet ski and hop off for a great meal. I had the fisherman's platter with haddock, scallops, clam strips and fries and everything was cooked perfectly. Fried seafood can be hit or miss, but it was lightly seasoned, battered well, and the fish was very obviously fresh. I would recommend it for anyone visiting the Wolfeboro area! read more

Fantastic local place away from the tourist downtown strip. Fresh seafood and good service most of the time. Great spot for lunch or dinner, definitely recommend reservations! read more

The food was very good and it was hot. Our server was friendly and attentive. I had three problems; 1. It took nearly 40 minutes to get served. 2. The noise level was a little bit too high for my taste. 3. My meal's Mkt price was quoted to be $24, but I was billed $36. I was quoted for an "appetizer", but I was served the "platter" which included french fries($12). I told the server when she initially quoted the Mkt price that I didn't want french fries. read more

Saw another review that perfectly summarized it - casual atmosphere but the food is a step above the rest. They gave a nice outdoors area right off the dock but indoors options exist as well and a bar (sit outside if you can though). The food is excellent. I love the steamers and stuffies and look forward to their swordfish tacos whenever we come to Wolfeboro. You need to make reservations weeks in advance because this place is not a secret gem anymore, it's just a gem lol. I've always had good servers here and the owner makes it a point to come around and chat with tables to check in. They also operate a market in a separate building on their property and there is a large function space separately that could be booked for parties although personally I've only ever ate at the restaurant. read more

Had a 6:45 reservation for 2 we waited over 5 minutes to even have a server come over with water. Ordered calamari appetizer with marinara right after our drink order however the appetizer took a bit however it came out incorrect and waitress trying to say you wanted marinara? Which then took another ten minutes. Dinners were fine plenty of food however never got asked if we would have liked another drink our last two times here the service has been lacking. Was end of night not really that busy wasn't impressed with the service hopefully next time it will be better read more

The food, service and ambiance were all fantastic! We ordered a stuffed clam and crab cake to share, both were very tasty. For an entree I ordered haddock tacos and my friend ordered a fish sandwich. Again, we both enjoyed our meals and I even brought a taco home! We went for lunch around 1:30 on a Thursday, the outside seating was full but there were plenty of seats inside, which was still very nice and casual. Will definitely be back! read more

Four of us had dinner there. We ordered (2) shrimp platters dinners, 1 swordfish and 1 haddock dinner. Both shrimp dinners were overcooked and the fries were cold. We had to ask our server for silverware and napkins. She was totally oblivious to serving us. The ketchup bottle at the table was empty and when we asked for more she gave us a new bottle which required us to remove the inner seal before using it. At no point did our server ask how our meals were, and to add insult to injury when she brought our bill she emphasized how pleased she was that we had a great meal, which we did not. Not coming back anytime soon. read more

Still on a seafood kick when we arrived inn Wolfeboro, we tried Wolftrap Grill and Rawbar for dinner tonight. Good fried clams are something we do not find too often so that's what we ordered tonight. Wolftrap served whole belly clams where the breading was so light it didn't detract from the taste of the clams. Most of the clams in our serving were huge and meaty and tasted so good whether you used lemon, tartar sauce or just ate them as they came. I thought the serving size was fair given the price. Service was as fine as the food. read more

I love Wolfetrap, great outdoor area and inside vibe. Delicious fried clams, steamers, chowder. I found the lobster tacos to be AWFUL. Unlike normal fish tacos, the lobster is served ice cold and unseasoned. So it is literally chunks of ice cold plain lobster sitting on a pile of iceberg lettuce on a thick, stale corn tortilla, with a drizzle of sriracha cream. The black bean and corn salad is on the side. These aren't tacos they are cold lobster on lettuce. I asked the server if it was correct and she said it was. I would normally at least eat all the lobster because...it's lobster. But I really couldn't eat much of it (not that the server cared to ask about). Moral of the story: If you want tacos get the fish tacos (not lobster). If you want lobster get a lobster roll or the steamed lobster. Don't try to combine them at this restaurant. P.S. Still giving 4 stars because one bad menu item doesn't ruin the restaurant which is still great :) read more

Showed up at 7:15 and the hostess was incredibly rude. Said that the kitchen was closing in 15 minutes and they had too many orders. Is 7:15 pm not a normal dinner time anymore? The restaurant was 25% full with people. Very confused at this policy. Very disappointing. If you can't depend on a restaurant to be open for customers at 7:15 pm then don't waste your time even trying. read more

Wolfetrap had delicious food, wonderful customer service, great location, and took serious precautions for COVID-19. It was a super busy Saturday with great weather right before Labor Day and the staff maintained such a professional and positive attitude. FIVE STARS! We just had a really bad experience kayaking and renting from Dive Winnipesaukee, everyone was feeling kinda off and Wolfetrap's hospitality and yummy food turned our day and moods around. We had a table of 8 and they managed to seat us within 30 minutes in a great outdoor table, right on the water. Our server gave great recommendations and checked in regularly on us. Everyone who worked at Wolfetrap wore their masks *correctly* (thank you!). The food matched the service and location. 1. Lobster roll - everyone really enjoyed it and said the lobster was fresh and meaty. From the picture you can see that the 1/2lb is HUGE! I think everyone envied our friend who ordered the 1/2lber. 2. Seafood bouillabaisse - W.O.W. I was crazy, I ordered this on a hot day and the flavours were fantastic. It's a broth and tomato base (no cream), full of mussels, shrimp, and scallops. I kept raving about this and would go back to Wolfeboro just so I can order this dish again. 3. Fisherman's platter - generous portion of fried seafood. If you're in the mood for Calabash-style fried seafood, this will hit the spot. Do yourself a favour and go to Wolfetrap. You can thank me later :) read more
