Was disappointed on Monday to find Wolfetrap fish market closed, so I went to Mill St. They had scallops at $19 a pound. Said they were fresh that day. But when cooked a few hours later they tasted bitter and metallic. Must have been treated with sodium triphosphate. Awful. Also bought a cibatta baguette that they also claimed was freshly baked that day. It was stale. So disappointing. Unfortunately Wolfetrap isn't as good as the old Wolfetrap fish market used to be, either. Not much of a selection and most is previously frozen coming from Canada or Boston. So close to the ocean and no good place for seafood in Wolfeboro anymore. read more

This is the place to go for fresh meat and fish! I've always been pleased with whatever I've gotten there. The marinated meats are delicious, and burgers come out so tasty. A gem of a store that people hopefully utilize when in town or on vacation. Smart, friendly service who know their stuff - good, quality products at a fair price. Lots of variety, with a few real must-try's. The marinated steak tips are fantastic - five or six types, each one better then the last. Great sides as well - good cole slaw, good potato salad. Seafood was excellent as well, with the scallops being particularly strong. Go there, check out what they have, buy a bunch of stuff and throw it on the grill. They didn't have pork butt, which was surprising to me, and didnt seem positive that they could get it for later in the week, but otherwise, this place is terrific. Nice assortment of wines, good quality beers, cheeses, and sauces as well. Looking forward to going back next year! read more

Highly recommended! This is so much better (and easier) than figuring out what to do for dinner. We just pick up a few different kinds of seasoned meat and grill them up. They have a great selection, the seasonings are all amazing, the quality superb, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They also carry an assortment of wines and other foods. read more

we buy our steak, fish and chicken here every time we come up to NH. absolutely delicious meats to throw on the grill. A successful dinner every time. Great for impressing your guests. It also sells some cheeses, crackers, apps which I think are over priced. If you planned right you could just buy all that at your grocery store at home before hand. This medium sized meat market is hidden away from downtown but within walking distance. They have fresh meat as well as tubs(yes, I said tubs) of marinated beef and chicken. We purchased the bourbon and maple beef and a huge cilantro-lime chicken breast. The beef was tender and flavorful and the chicken was juicy and delicious. If you're in Wolfeboro NH, stop in and treat yourself to some really good meat. read more

A trip up to the lake is no longer complete without a trip to Mill Street Meat Market to buy their marinated steak tips to make on our BBQ. Omg. Perfection. Every time. These tips are generously sized and thoroughly marinated. They are incredibly tender and sooo tasty. We've tried the Mill Street Marinade, the teriyaki and the bourbon...they all rock! My fave is the Mill Street Marinade. As I write this review my hubby is on his way there to pick up two pounds of tips to bring home to NY for us to have on Mother's Day next week! read more

Wow.. this place sucks. I walked in and the young man behind the counter looked at me and walked out back without saying hi or a smile. Nothing. I walked around looking at the items they had. Went over to the meat case and yelled behind the counter for some help. The same young man came out and apologized. He said he had to go get the phone. (Which I never heard ring). He asked me what I needed. I asked for a 1 pound lobster and he said and I quote " yea yea I'll get that foy-ya". He disappeared again for a minute or two before getting my lobster. He put it on the counter and it looked dead. Only one leg was kinda moving. I asked for a more alive one if that was possible and he said. It's either this one or no lobster. So I turned and walked out the door. They will never get my business and I will tell everyone who brings up the name about my experience. read more

Excellent steak tips and bacon. We particularly love the burgundy wine and maple bourbon steak tips. Simple to grill, always impress, and the staff is great. It can be difficult to get quality food in and around Wolfeboro, but this place is gold standard. Highly recommend. read more
