They cooked up well and certainly scratched that sweet lobster meat itch. Service was efficient and curt. The fella was on a mission & didn't seem to be chatty. (The gal in front of us went for small talk & was met with short replies- not rude, just direct.) The case was clean & well-lit. We considered getting scallops, as they looked good. Instead, opted to stop next door for a cheese appetizer, spreading the love.

One prepared so well that you think about it for the rest of the day. From the moment I stepped in until I placed my order, all the staff were so friendly and attentive (not just with me but all the other customers that kept entering the establishment). The lobster rolled was not dressed like what you'd usually find in New England. In fact, it was lightly seasoned and allowed you to taste the sweetness of lobster meat itself and how perfectly cooked it was! You can't hide quality when serving it almost bare like this that it's a purist's dream! Dang, I can't stop thinking about! The shrimp sandwich was another simple culinary delight executed well. Perfectly cooked shrimp, dressed lightly, on a nicely toasted buttered brioche with crisp lettuce and tomatoes. I inhaled this just as quickly with my eyes rolling with every bite. Dang it again. The gluten-free clam chowder was a great way to finish off this quick meal. Perfectly balanced, tasty, salted perfectly, and loaded with chunky clams. What a way to warm up in this NE chilly weather this time of year. Without even trying their other fresh seafood options, they've already made it to my list of must-visits when in the area. Can't wait to be back again!

Rating: 4.7 Came to…read morestop by on the way back from northern Maine. It's a local seafood market located by the bridge at york, ME. They have live lobsters and other seafood as well. They serve various size of lobsters as well as cook them for you. However they do not provide place to eat or utensils so they function more as a market than a restaurant. They have sort of a parking lot where you can park. There are few works on the back hanging around and 2 younger staff that take care of orders. Lobster has quite few size options and some explanations for terms they use. We weren't sure what to get but figure we wanted larger size lobsters. SLX which is the largest ones were $14 per pound. They can also let you pick them live as well but we chose 2 lb ones. They charge $1.5 to boil but it's a-lot of work to boil properly so it's worth it. We waited about 20-25minutes or so and they also chilled it so that we can take it home to eat. Luckily we had ice box with some ice packs so it kept the lobster fresh until getting home. Once we got home we opened the bag to eat the lobster. It's a huge lobster with large claws. We got a large bowl and separate plate to eat. It was a massive task to crack the claws as one of the claw was huge and very tough. We ended up using a hammer and dull knife to crack them open. The meat was tender and sweet. One of the best maine lobster we had. Overall the place provides fresh maine lobster for good price. Only issue is that they don't serve it so you will need to plan to take it home and have tools to crack them open. They also only take cash. If i were to come back i would give them a call a head of time to have the lobster prepared to go and pick them up which seems to be what other people were doing.

He is incredibly friendly, always has a smile on his face and really takes such personal care of his regular customers. I am a New England girl and have enjoyed steamers my whole life, at Beach Plum Lobster Farm, they have THE CLEANEST, sweetest steamed clams I've ever had anywhere. No need for broth to remove sand! I could eat them daily if given the chance. Not to be missed for any clam lovers. Plus they have high quality butter that you buy along with the already low priced lobsters and steamers. Keep in mind this is a to go place so it's ideal for a picnic on the Marginal Way or on the sand of beautiful Ogunquit beach at sunset. I ALWAYS make this my first stop in Maine because it is consistently perfect every time! Thank you for bringing such a wonderful place to my favorite town!

Recently, on one such trip my partner was itching for a lobster roll, so we stopped in. First things first, the lobster rolls were amazing (we both had one)! They were packed with choice, large pieces of lobster and the were very lightly dressed. We loved the fact that they weren't turned into a lobster salad with chucks of celery and sliced lettuce. A+++ on the lobster rolls. But everything else about this place C-minus, or worse... We ordered our lobstah rolls with the coleslaw for a side. It came in small, plastic containers that were either delivered that way, or made in house a day or two before. Ours had a brownish hue and we could not bring ourselves to try them. I ordered a clam chowder that was overly thickened (by a lot) and was big on potatoes and short on clams. The staff was super young and inexperienced. I felt like they were trying to do the right thing, but didn't know how. We even ever heard one of the kitchen staff yelling at another who had just swept the floor and did clean-up in the dining room to go wash his hands before returning to kitchen duty. They refused. We couldn't site outside at one of the picnic tables because they were blasting music the staff liked (I'm guessing) on cheap outdoor speakers. Thankfully, it was not that way inside. However, they had the air-conditioning maxed out on a day that was on the cool side. That was probably great for the kitchen staff and the wait staff, who were all wearing sweatshirts, but not for their patrons. Everyone was goosebumped and nearly shivering, like us. *IF* I ever do come back for the GREAT lobster rolls, it will be a to-go order (hold the coleslaw).

OHANA MARKET KITTERY…read more Ohana Market in Kittery is a small food market which is a branch of the Ohana Kitchen in Portsmouth and Exeter. This store has a small kitchen space with a limited menu, offering grab and go foods such as a selection of premade foods such as poke bowls, sushi burritos, daily bento box, daily crudo, musabi, snacks, bottled & can drinks. Any poke bowl can be modified with added ingredients on hand in the store. I stopped in at Ohana Market recently in the afternoon. The selection in the open cooler case was limited including only the regular poke bowl size ($15.49 plus tax), which didn't seem too full. I could've gotten more ingredients added, but I did pick up a couple musabis including spam and tofu with sushi rice, $4 plus tax each. Those ready to eat snacks with provided teriyaki dipping sauces were very good and enough to hold me over for dinner. Within the same hour, I placed an online order for a Large Build Your Own (BYO) Poke Bowl ($17.49 plus tax) with 3 proteins and unlimited toppings from the Ohana Kitchen in Portsmouth, since I was heading in that direction. My order was on the counter ready to go, 20 minutes later. I got the poke bowl loaded with sushi rice, ahi tuna, salmon, shrimp, green onion, sweet onion, mint, cilantro, edamame, chili relish, carrot, cucumber, mango, pickled ginger, pickled onion, fresh pineapple, radish, roasted corn, wasabi, garlic crisps, shallot crisps, sesame, wonton crisps, and 2 sauces on the side, ohana sauce and teriyaki sauce. This poke bowl had a great mix of fresh flavors and it was filling to eat. I may consider going back to Ohana Market in Kittery if they offer a BYO option for the poke bowl with my choice of proteins, ingredients, and sauces. But due to the small kitchen, it is a great place to stop for grab & go bowls and more, if you're in a rush.

When the Kittery location first opened I had nothing but positive experiences. The restaurant was…read moreclean and the displays were well organized. However, in the last few months I've seen some faltering quality- Poorly cooked rice, fish that was a bit too fishy or containing ligaments/tissue that should have been trimmed, avocado that's not quite ripe enough to eat. There's nothing better than a good poke bowl but there's also nothing worse than a bad one. The food here isn't cheap- price should reflect consistent quality. I've been a total of probably ten times... after the last two being bad experiences I haven't been back. I'm guessing it has to do with staff. When the shop first opened one gentleman was working the restaurant and it was evident that he was invested in the and quality of the food. They have since hired additional employees and the quality of the food has definitely suffered in his absence.
