Plenty of lot parking so that's always a plus. We walked in on Friday for lunch and it was fairly full but we were seated quickly and orders taken. Very rustic ambience and service was quick. Unfortunately, the food was just ok and didn't knock my socks off. We ordered the Brussel sprouts, pork belly steam buns and the margherita pizza. Brussels were fried nicely but the ginger sesame sauce was very strong and I would probably preferred the sauce on the side. Pork belly buns were just ok as well. We were here for the pizza so were excited to try it - pizza unfortunately was just ok as well. Food is subjective and always based on preference so please take this review with a grain of salt - pizza was a bit doughier than I'd like - I prob should've asked for it to be well done if even possible and the sauce tasted heavy on the oregano - not something I'm a big fan of. All in all - not bad but not great. I just had such high expectations - maybe a different pizza might've changed my mind. But def don't skip out on going next door to try some samples and get some bread - the bread is amazingly delicious.

The hostess brought out a large mason jar of ice water and poured it into these cute little mason jars already on the table (ya know a millennial girl lives her little jars!). Waiter was a delight and had us laughing the whole time. We had coffee, tea, two micheladas and a quite substantial and incredibly delicious pineapple mimosa. They just switched to a new menu so I can't remember the names of everything we ate but it was SO GOOD. I think my husband had island hash with eggs, my dad had frijoles, I had rice and bean tostadas and my mom had a delicious apple cinnamon French toast with bacon and potatoes. Everything was perfectly portioned and really tasty. Such a nice experience! We will definitely be back. Worth the hour drive from both parties for a "meet in the middle" brunch date!

Stumbling onto authentic Caribbean cuisine in coastal Maine wasn't exactly on my Bingo card, but it turned out to be a very welcome surprise. The restaurant is very spacious with a big bar, dark wood exposed ceiling beams, and blue and green accented décor. Their menu is multi-cultural with Asian, Mexican, Burgers and Jamaican influences. Our lunch choices were a cup of Lobster and roasted Corn Chowder ($13) for my wife and a Bowl of Ital Stew ($14) for me. I'm a fan of Jamaican food, and although I've often seen Ital Stew on Jamaican menus, I never tried it and really had no idea what it was. The Blue Mermaid's menu described it as "Lemongrass coconut broth, root vegetables, spinach, black beans, and chickpeas". So that was enough for me to order it. I enjoyed it a lot. The broth had a very distinctive flavor and was loaded with chunks of those vegetables. And I have to mention the very cute touch of fish shaped biscuits that came with our lunches - 1 for the cup of chowder and two for my bowl of stew. Our server, identified on our bill as "PM B" was friendly and very pleasant. The Blue Mermaid seems to be a bit of a social gathering venue, with live music on Bluegrass Sunday Brunch, and supporting charitable initiatives. And they got bonus points from me for hosting a Bob Dylan Appreciation Night on May 28.

The server kept running away, no time to give feedback. More attention to our plates and our ordering, than for us and our experience. Note to the wise: ask both people how their food is, and with enough time/follow up than only immediately after getting the dish. The tuna was very bland, it needed salt. I got the beef medallions. Though the beef itself was very good, the entire dish came off like a TV dinner - the sauce was supposed to be peppercorn. It was not. It degraded the entire dish, horribly. So sad for the elements to be buried in that slop. Potatoes were also very odd. For the price we paid, I would rather have had my money back and give my husband a much better birthday experience for somewhere else. Honestly devastating, and definitely cannot guarantee a recommendation from me, if this restaurant is not only inconsistent, but such a waste of so much money. Sad to think we could have enjoyed better food at a "lesser" establishment. Would much prefer to get my money back, at least for the entrees. WAYY overpaid. This was not worth it.

We started with the calamari , lightly breaded, fried, tender and not oily... it was perfect. Two of us had the pan seared halibut with a tasty potato cake, another plate was the haddock on a bed of mashed potatoes and the final was the salmon dish, a nice center cut thick piece. Being we are local and our guest we're visiting I loved they said "this is so good, glad we came".. all the dishes were delicious and cooked perfect. See you soon.

It's upscale without being stuffy. It has superb service, we went there twice and the first time, at night, we struck up a conversation with a really friendly bartender who gave us a rundown of the nice places in the area to see and visit. The venue maintained good pandemic protocols with plenty of social distancing. And of course, the location next to the gorgeous docks with the yachts coming in and out, made the ambiance just delightful. But the most delightful part was when the super efficient waiter brought my lunch. I didn't want a heavy carbo lunch so I chose the lobster salad. Oh... My.... God.... It came out magnificently prepared in an attractive manner. And it was absolutely delicious. Hands down. A superb meal. One definite place for all; spectacular views, great food, superb service and casual yet upscale ambiance.

They were busy sure - but people were humping to get orders in and served, glasses full, etc.. Food was awesome - lobster roll was simply amazing. Like a proper roll, the star was the lobster and they nailed it. Wife had chicken breast with orzo and loved it. To be honest, the only thing I would cite was an over abundance of boat shoe wearing pretentious asses pretending to be Thurston Howell IV. We've only been here a day, but without a doubt, the highlight thus far has been this restaurant and the people making it happen there. Keep it up - well done.
