What can I say......they still have the best appetizers. Some of their meals may not be as good as others, but that's how many restaurants are. Some have better things than others. No one can beat the rangoons, though. The beef teriyaki, chicken teriyaki, egg rolls, chicken fingers, etc., are simply the best. The owner and staff are always very nice. They are a town staple. read more

Great Chinese! Awesome service. Crispy duck was crispy and flavorful. Portions were on the smaller side. Everything came out hot and quickly. Can't wait to try more dishes! read more

We ordered takeout out before and did not have issues with the food so we decided to order take out since it's a convenient location and I like to support local businesses. Maybe it was an "off" night for them? My partner said when he went to pick up our order, the lady at the cash register was far from friendly. We ordered crab rangoons, which tasted primarily of cream cheese and Sadly no crab to be found. The dipping sauce provided was jarringly sweet and not what you typically get with crab rangoons. We also ordered orange chicken, house special duck, and Mongolian beef. All three were not what we were expecting and unfortunately quite disappointing. read more

This is a standard Chinese place, what I mean is you're not going to find anything exotic on the menu, reference to province etc, and they do use that sad food service (Sysco) chicken that no restaurant seems to be able to escape. So it is what it is. That said the food is of high quality, well made, the place is clean and lovely, but the number one thing that strikes you is that the people are so happy and courteous, and genuinely interested that you're having a good experience that the feeling is nearly infectious. They are just really wonderful people and I spent the entire meal feeling very well taken care of. For a standard Chinese place, the food was far better than what I would expect and literally twice as good as anything within 20 miles of my house. So awesome people great place. read more

Always great food and the freshest ingredients. Service was superb and this is my go to restaurant for Chinese food in southern maine!

My family and I had green leaves for dinner it was so good and they even have gluten free options too definitely coming back again soon

Green Leaves - lunch menu: chicken lo mein, crab rangoons and pork fried rice - Sushi Bars Near Me - York, Maine

Others have said "typical Chinese food", "sysco chicken") - I mostly agree, but end of the day I thought it was pretty dog shit. Ordered 2 sushi rolls, chicken lo mein and pineapple fried rice. Not rocket science. Somehow the rice in the fried rice was not actually fried, just normal ass boiled rice tossed in a bunch of oil, and the lo mein was ~60% that sysco chicken. Typical Chinese food sure, but for me, quality really sub par. At least my work life balance will be improving. read more

Best Chinese food north of Boston. Great environment, food is always delicious. I wish I lived closer! Andy and his team are the best.

I like this place a lot. It's easy to get to and it's really good. Give it a try and let me know what you think. Try the steamed dumplings and crab Rangoon. read more

Found this restaurant on New England Chinese facebook group. Nothing great from the outside,(strip mallish) but these people do it right. Been around for 37 years and the original owners are still running it. Try as soon as you can, you know things change, but right now 5 stars. read more

In town visiting a relative and he wanted to take us here. It was an unusually warm summer evening and their a/c doesn't quite keep up. However, it wasn't too bad. I just like a little more air. The service was top notch! It's a family owned restaurant and they really take care of their customers. The rice comes separately so keep that in mind. I had the sesame chicken and the house fried rice. Really good. I would definitely come back. read more

Tucked away in a strip mall, set back from Route 1, it's an easy restaurant to miss. But a Facebook group alerted me about it, so in I went. Two rooms, one a Chinese restaurant and the other a sports bar with sushi. Some old school Chinese decor, but understated. Combo plates made things easy for a weekday lunch. Substitutions are allowed for a $2.25 charge; add-ons can be had for $3.95. I tried a sweet and sour chicken combo with egg roll ($9.95), adding on boneless ribs for an extra $3.95. Well worth it. Egg Roll: Looked industrial strength, but it had quality. Good crunch outside and in, with fresh tasting cabbage and some pork and scallions for flavor. Sweet and Sour Chicken: Only four pieces but fairly big and decent meat-to-batter ratio. Interestingly, with the sauce served in a bowl on the side, allowing you to dunk, drizzle, of neither. A thin sauce with minimal punch, but the typical sweetness. Boneless Ribs: Nice bright red glaze and good volume, but kinda dry. Fried rice: Not the darkest, not the lightest. Not bad, not remarkable. Definitely above average. I wanna give a 3.5. Rounding up to 4 based on pricing, flexibility, and friendliness of staff. But think of it as a 3.5. read more

My husband and I have been craving Chinese food, but since going gluten free, it's been hard to come by. Greens Leaves had an extensive gluten free menu with all of our favorite classics to choose from. Everything we ordered was delicious! We can't wait to go back. read more

Service is friendly, everyone e seems to know Andy, the owner. The prices are reasonable, especially for lunch. However, they are not flexible with substitution. If you want a specific beef dish, you need to get a chicken wing. The food is average, the restaurant is cozy, and the location is convenient. I tried the sushi lunch, it was good but expensive, small, and I left hungry. read more

The Chinese was delish!! We ordered the beef with broccoli lunch special. I was surprised to see they offered the lunch special on a Sunday. The meal was 11 dollars and change and came with a heaping serving of pork fried rice, three chicken fingers, and beef with broccoli. The broccoli was so good and fresh and the meat was very tender and tasty. We also got an order of beef teriyaki sticks and egg rolls. The egg rolls were superb and the beef sticks were quite sweet. Maybe a little too sweet for our liking. The service was fast and the meals came out within ten minutes. We dined inside in a booth. There are bottles of duck sauce and hot mustard on each table. I love that they don't limit guests on their sauces. We ordered a few sushi rolls and they were just okay. We'd probably skip the sushi next time and get more of the hot foods. Can't wait to go back next time we're back in the area!! read more

We researched Sushi near us and it led us here. Pretty busy in there. Great Atmosphere. And nice decor! We were greeted and sat. Ordered 3 Rolls and 1.app App was wontons.in spicy peanut sauce. IT WAS PHENOMENAL!!! Not what we expected. Wonton were pillowy soft melt in your mouth warm Bite of heaven. Topped with crunchy bean sprouts! Great compliment to the dish. As it acts as a cleanser. That was our favorite part of the whole meal. The 3 Sushi Rolls came in a close 2nd.! Forgot what kind of Rolls we got. One had cream cheese. One had mango. The waiter was quick on his feet. Attentive to the guests. And the woman server put the cherry on top with her wit, charm, and humor. read more

Much to our surprise, this place was fantastic! Our kids were sick of seafood and wanted Chinese. We had very low expectations. We were beyond pleasantly surprised! Great menu, fun drinks. Started with a Mai Tai and it was great! Our entrees were excellent but the real standouts were the two appetizers. The Crab Rangoon and Fried Peking dumplings were absolutely delicious. Better than what we had in Chinatown in NYC last week! Service was efficient and friendly, prices very reasonable especially for food this good! We have been vacationing in this area for years and regret not knowing about this restaurant. I never thought I would want to take a break from New England Seafood when in Maine but, now I will look forward to it! read more

We totally recommend for dinner. This place was so good. Service was absolutely excellent. Waiters are all perfect.

Food was excellent. Especially lo mien, beef teriyaki and crab Rangoon. Definitely will return.

Ok food but I recently ordered takeout and did not tip. I got the look of death. I think the man on the register was even one of the owners. It's pickup! No service, no clean up, no dishes or use of the restrooms. Sorry I don't agree with tipping for takeout. read more

Swung by Green Leaves this week for take-out and I'm glad we did! The food was flavorful and delicious - we ordered much more food than pictured, I just didn't get a chance to snap a pic before the gang dug in! The edamame was great - huge portion! Gyoza was delish as well - not a huge fan of the sauce, it was a bit too sweet for my liking. And snagged a handful of rolls - I wasn't impressed with the size of the rolls - they were a bit teeny for the price tag - but overall flavorful, and filled. Next time we swing by we'll end up trying it in person and during lunch! Their lunch specials sound like a steal of a deal! read more

My family and I used to love this place, as the quality of food was high. Our favorite dish is the General Tao Chicken and this was one of the few places that actually had mostly chicken and not just batter(of some kind). ***However, today (September, 21 2024) we ordered our go-to and it was absolutely disgusting in our opinions. Please see the picture and judge for yourself. Pay close attention to the cloudy/foamy looking areas. Thank you for reading my honest review. read more

So on September 3rd about 2:30 in the afternoon I put an order in for pick up. I got there about 3:00. I worked in Portsmouth so it's about 25 minutes away and I live in New Hampshire so it's over an hour because of co-workers. I figured I would try a new place because they all spoke very highly. My partner is a vegetarian so everything I ordered either had vegetables or shrimp. So when I got home the very first thing I noticed was that my shrimp fried rice was pork fried rice. The first thing that was disappointing about it is that I had to pick out all the pork. The second thing is I found a hair was not happy because now we could not eat it and that was $13.95. The second thing that was highly disappointing was that the dish I was looking forward to was the rice noodles that had shrimp and vegetables in it. After my first serving of it I found a piece of hard white plastic that look like it came from a plastic handle where you would keep your food in for storage had broken off into my food again. I could not eat it and that was 18.95. The next thing that was highly disappointing was that I ordered vegetable with shrimp tempura. When you read the description of the dish it says how there is four pieces of jumbo size shrimp in the dish. Again, we took off all the batter and noticed that it was a large shrimp cut in half. So we had two pieces of shrimp, a handful of green beans, one sweet potato, sliced in half and the other zucchini sliced in half for $13.95 really. The whole bill came to $80 so on the 9th I was able to call them and I made this exact complaint. The only thing that the person in charge said to me is that I'll make sure I tell the kitchen. That's it. Didn't even try to make it right. Not at all. The only thing he said I'll tell the kitchen really myself and my co-workers will no longer be there again. read more

We made a pitstop into Green Leaves for a late lunch based on many of the positive reviews. I think I should have paid more attention to the negative ones. The food was flavorless, oily and not even warmed up properly. Our server was disinterested and brought me out something different from what I ordered and said that it was the lunch special. But, I did not order the lunch special. She didn't seem to care. I ordered chicken with broccoli and white rice, but got chicken with broccoli, fried rice, and some sort of awful fried chicken. I've had lots of great Chinese food in my life and Green Leaves does not come anywhere close to that. I'm rather surprised by all the positive reviews. read more
