This is a standard Chinese place, what I mean is you're not going to find anything exotic on the menu, reference to province etc, and they do use that sad food service (Sysco) chicken that no restaurant seems to be able to escape. So it is what it is. That said the food is of high quality, well made, the place is clean and lovely, but the number one thing that strikes you is that the people are so happy and courteous, and genuinely interested that you're having a good experience that the feeling is nearly infectious. They are just really wonderful people and I spent the entire meal feeling very well taken care of. For a standard Chinese place, the food was far better than what I would expect and literally twice as good as anything within 20 miles of my house. So awesome people great place. read more

Others have said "typical Chinese food", "sysco chicken") - I mostly agree, but end of the day I thought it was pretty dog shit. Ordered 2 sushi rolls, chicken lo mein and pineapple fried rice. Not rocket science. Somehow the rice in the fried rice was not actually fried, just normal ass boiled rice tossed in a bunch of oil, and the lo mein was ~60% that sysco chicken. Typical Chinese food sure, but for me, quality really sub par. At least my work life balance will be improving. read more

We ordered takeout out before and did not have issues with the food so we decided to order take out since it's a convenient location and I like to support local businesses. Maybe it was an "off" night for them? My partner said when he went to pick up our order, the lady at the cash register was far from friendly. We ordered crab rangoons, which tasted primarily of cream cheese and Sadly no crab to be found. The dipping sauce provided was jarringly sweet and not what you typically get with crab rangoons. The Chinese was delish!! We ordered the beef with broccoli lunch special. I was surprised to see they offered the lunch special on a Sunday. The meal was 11 dollars and change and came with a heaping serving of pork fried rice, three chicken fingers, and beef with broccoli. The broccoli was so good and fresh and the meat was very tender and tasty. We also got an order of beef teriyaki sticks and egg rolls. The egg rolls were superb and the beef sticks were quite sweet. Maybe a little too sweet for our liking. The service was fast and the meals came out within ten minutes. We dined inside in a booth. There are bottles of duck sauce and hot mustard on each table. I love that they don't limit guests on their sauces. We ordered a few sushi rolls and they were just okay. We'd probably skip the sushi next time and get more of the hot foods. Two rooms, one a Chinese restaurant and the other a sports bar with sushi. Some old school Chinese decor, but understated. Combo plates made things easy for a weekday lunch. Substitutions are allowed for a $2.25 charge; add-ons can be had for $3.95. I tried a sweet and sour chicken combo with egg roll ($9.95), adding on boneless ribs for an extra $3.95. Well worth it. Egg Roll: Looked industrial strength, but it had quality. Good crunch outside and in, with fresh tasting cabbage and some pork and scallions for flavor. Sweet and Sour Chicken: Only four pieces but fairly big and decent meat-to-batter ratio. Interestingly, with the sauce served in a bowl on the side, allowing you to dunk, drizzle, of neither. A thin sauce with minimal punch, but the typical sweetness. Boneless Ribs: Nice bright red glaze and good volume, but kinda dry. Fried rice: Not the darkest, not the lightest. Not bad, not remarkable. Definitely above average. I wanna give a 3.5. Rounding up to 4 based on pricing, flexibility, and friendliness of staff. But think of it as a 3.5. read more

Much to our surprise, this place was fantastic! Our kids were sick of seafood and wanted Chinese. We had very low expectations. We were beyond pleasantly surprised! Great menu, fun drinks. Started with a Mai Tai and it was great! Our entrees were excellent but the real standouts were the two appetizers. The Crab Rangoon and Fried Peking dumplings were absolutely delicious. Better than what we had in Chinatown in NYC last week! Service was efficient and friendly, prices very reasonable especially for food this good! We have been vacationing in this area for years and regret not knowing about this restaurant. The food was flavorful and delicious - we ordered much more food than pictured, I just didn't get a chance to snap a pic before the gang dug in! The edamame was great - huge portion! Gyoza was delish as well - not a huge fan of the sauce, it was a bit too sweet for my liking. And snagged a handful of rolls - I wasn't impressed with the size of the rolls - they were a bit teeny for the price tag - but overall flavorful, and filled. So on September 3rd about 2:30 in the afternoon I put an order in for pick up. I got there about 3:00. I worked in Portsmouth so it's about 25 minutes away and I live in New Hampshire so it's over an hour because of co-workers. I figured I would try a new place because they all spoke very highly. My partner is a vegetarian so everything I ordered either had vegetables or shrimp. So when I got home the very first thing I noticed was that my shrimp fried rice was pork fried rice. The first thing that was disappointing about it is that I had to pick out all the pork. The second thing is I found a hair was not happy because now we could not eat it and that was $13.95. The second thing that was highly disappointing was that the dish I was looking forward to was the rice noodles that had shrimp and vegetables in it. After my first serving of it I found a piece of hard white plastic that look like it came from a plastic handle where you would keep your food in for storage had broken off into my food again. I could not eat it and that was 18.95. The next thing that was highly disappointing was that I ordered vegetable with shrimp tempura. When you read the description of the dish it says how there is four pieces of jumbo size shrimp in the dish. Again, we took off all the batter and noticed that it was a large shrimp cut in half. So we had two pieces of shrimp, a handful of green beans, one sweet potato, sliced in half and the other zucchini sliced in half for $13.95 really. The whole bill came to $80 so on the 9th I was able to call them and I made this exact complaint. The only thing that the person in charge said to me is that I'll make sure I tell the kitchen. We made a pitstop into Green Leaves for a late lunch based on many of the positive reviews. I think I should have paid more attention to the negative ones. The food was flavorless, oily and not even warmed up properly. Our server was disinterested and brought me out something different from what I ordered and said that it was the lunch special. But, I did not order the lunch special. She didn't seem to care. I ordered chicken with broccoli and white rice, but got chicken with broccoli, fried rice, and some sort of awful fried chicken. Worst dining experience in the last 10 years. Waiter brought the wrong dishes, first to my partner, then after a long wait for mine, it also arrived as the wrong dish and was sent back. We watched several repetitions of this same scenario play out at other tables. When my correct dish finally arrived, it was so loaded with salt and MSG that it was inedible. Our waiter *never* returned to check on us, otherwise the salt mess I received would have been returned also. This was the most horrible Chinese food. Fried rice is a basic staple. We ordered house fried rice and it was literally rice from the pot mixed with vegetables. The reason people order fried rice is because cooking it on high heat in a wok creates a smoky flavor and rice is browned. The next dish with much disappointment was the mapo tofu. How hard is it to make! This one had bell peppers and no spice, no taste! Never ate mapo with bell peppers. It's usually with spicy hamburger and tofu, very simple.
