Got take out the other day because I was excited they re-opened. This is NOT the same green tea as we had before. Food was edible but not good at all. I went to Green Tea a few nights ago with my brother, my girlfriend, his girlfriend, and two other friends, and honestly the experience wasn't great. The food looked like it wasn't fully cooked -- especially the chicken dishes. My orange chicken wasn't spicy at all like it usually should be, and the flavor just wasn't there. It tasted kind of bland and off. The whole table had similar issues with their meals, and for the price, it really wasn't worth it. I don't like leaving bad reviews but this was disappointing. This Asian restaurant has a clean and modern atmosphere inside which has a lounge section with TV and a full bar with a cool blue light glowing from under the front of the long bar counter, decorative hanging lights & Chinese decorative ornaments, and a full service dining room with bright lime green and red colors. Green Tea serves up mostly Chinese cuisine with few Japanese and Vietnamese dishes on the menu as well. For appetizers, they have satay chicken & beef, lettuce wraps (chicken or lobster) tempura, Vietnamese summer roll, and more. Noodle soups such as yaki udon and beef rice noodle soups are offered. Pad Thai noodles, chow foon noodles (wide), Shanghai pan fried noodles, Singapore street noodles, honey walnut roasted shrimp, crispy duck, mango chicken, and tangerine crispy beef are some of the many dishes offered. 16 Luncheon Specials ($5.50-$8.25) and 17 Dinner Combinations ($9.75), served with pork fried rice are offered too. I ordered the L16 Szechuan Spicy Lo Mein ($6.95) with Pork Fried Rice and 3 Beef Triangles, which was ready to go in about 12 minutes after ordering. The portion of hot food was a good sized. The lo mein dish had a good mix of firm noodles, peppers, carrots, sprouts, onions, tender chicken and beef with a spicy flavor and a bit oily, a very good choice. The pork fried rice was okay, pretty standard firm rice (brown color) with small pork cubes, The beef triangles were pretty good, fried crispy outside with moist ground beef inside, duck sauce for dipping. There was definitely enough food for 2-3 lunches, which I enjoyed back at work. Overall, I had an enjoyable "lunch" - I meant to say enjoyable "lunches" especially with the good flavors of the spicy lo mein and crispy beef triangles. We came here based on the reviews and we're glad we did! It was easy to find and had ample parking. We walked in and were greeted and seated immediately. I took notice of the large amount of take out orders waiting at reception, must be a popular take out spot. We had our drinks on the table in minutes, although from probably the most awkward waitress I've ever encountered. Within a few more minutes, we had dialed in on a meal: sweet and sour chicken, chicken chow mein, spring rolls, and a side of steamed rice. Holy $#!+ the portions were HUUUUUGE! We could barely make a dent before resigning ourselves to take out boxes. The sweet and sour chicken was perfection. Huge pieces of chicken cooked just right. The chicken chow mein lacked flavor to my palette but my wife can't stop talking about how wonderful it is. The spring rolls and steamed rice were good and unremarkable. I'm taking a star off because there was no soy sauce or other seasonings (ie salt and pepper) on the table, the waitress was SO awkward and kept staring at my wife and acted like I wasn't there even though I ordered for my wife and paid the bill, and because I thought the chicken chow mein was under seasoned. Visited recently and the food still tastes good but... The chicken dish that I had was very little chicken inside but tons of dough. My wife had the sweet and sour chicken. Her meals suffered the same problem with very little meat inside a big piece of fried dough. The fried rice was basically the same problem with barely any meat and no discernable vegetables in it. The crab Rangoon tasted like cream cheese and nothing else. No onion or crab taste that we could tell. This left us disappointed in the meal. read more

It's in a good location with lots of parking, and the bar atmosphere seemed good. We ordered the Fresh Pineapple Crispy Shrimp and the D14 dinner combination (General Tso's, crab rangoon, & pork friend rice). The dinner combo was pretty good, but the rice was fairly dry and bland. The crshrimp dish was not good. There was nothing crispy about the shrimp and it was completely the opposite- the shrimp was not breaded, but there was a big pile of plain, very mushy breading in the middle of the dish. The shrimp was also not deveined, which grossed both of us out. The dish was $17.95, which seems steep considering the poor quality and the fact that it didn't come with white rice (it was extra). We hoped to return for dine-in since the bar/lounge was appealing and the host staff was friendly, but this was a big turn-off. read more

The three beef triangles were good but there was only a 1 rounded tablespoon of beef in the triangle. Seemed a bit skimpy when the triangle is about 3" on the hypotenuse. We were on our vacation and went here for food. The food is nothing to rave about but the owner not being understanding that we were on vacation camping and I had asked if I could use her dumpster for small bag of trash. We did not know the area at all or where the dump was. After driving around trying to find the dump. So being nice instead of just dumping it there I thought maybe she might be ok with it. BUT NO!! I asked and she being so nice and understanding said "no"! I owned my own business and if someone were to be up camping and had no idea of where they were and couldn't find the dump I would of gladly helped them out. I guess Sanford, Maine is a hillbilly town that have no decent people in it. We found a lot of nice people here but weren't from here. We've gotten take -out from Green Tea multiple times, and to be fair, a year or so ago the food was really pretty good. However, after getting take out on New Year's Eve and again tonight it's clear their quality is suffering for some reason. All of the fried foods are super greasy now, a sure sign their oil isn't being kept hot enough. The wrappers on the crab rangoon are tough rather than crispy and even the light, vegetarian spring rolls had grease dripping from them. The teriyaki steak was good, but the chicken fingers again suffered from being soaked in grease. The lo-mein was ok, although not stellar and the chicken velvet corn soup was anything but velvet, with huge chunks of egg yet no chicken or corn to be found. Sadly, as much as we wished Green Tea could be our go to for good Chinese take-out, lately it's missing the mark by a mile. read more

Appearance- Located across from McDonalds and Dairy Queen, this place has a beautiful outside appearance. Clean, bright, and very nice appeal. The inside is a knock out. Beautiful set up, lots of neon lights, clean, and crisp. You can see that the owners put a lot of time, money and effort into making this place look and feel great! 5 stars. Service- The staff is very nice, helpful and friendly. Walk in and they greet you. I ordered take out once, went in to pay and they even offered me water or tea while I waited. 5 stars. Food- It was awesome. Flavorful, colorful, delicious! The portion sizes were perfect. A pupu platter for 2 could actually feed 3. Great value, and great quality. Some things were a bit greasy, especially the pork ribs, but still delicious. 4 stars. Take Out- There is no difference between dine in and take out! 5 stars. Overall 5 stars. My wife and I have always been a very big fan of this place ever since it opened. We rarely have to wait for seating. The decor and ambiance is probably a 7 out of 10 for a date - definitely far better than any other sit-down dining places in this town. We love how the bar area is well isolated from the quiet dining area. Wait staff are very friendly and very experienced. A few times waiting for the food took slightly longer than expected, but the result was always the same - top-ratings for taste and quantity. Love the pu-pu platter (one of our favorites here). If you're looking for an after-movie place to take your date out for dinner that is reasonably priced and not overly formal, this is perfect. It isn't 5-star dining - but it's a place where you could dress up with a date and not feel out of place either. There's a good mix of customers. This is one restaurant that I absolutely hope never closes down like so many others have in this area. It's the one place that we like to return to again and again whenever we have our "date night". read more

I LOVE them. Golden Palace shut down, then Fi Wood shut down. They were the two greatest places to have Chinese food growing up. My wife and I decided to eat here from the reviews. The place is very nice inside and decorated modern and cleanly. We both order Hot and Sour Soup. The soup is quite flavorful and slightly spicy. There is also a hint of sweetness I have never experienced in this soup. Very good and the portion was quite large. We also had Egg Rolls. They were quite hearty and made from scratch. Good as well. Not your normal Egg Roll. We decided to split an order of General Tao's Chicken. The dish does not come with rice so I ordered some Steamed Rice to go with our meal as we were splitting it. It was wonderful to see that they use white meat as my wife normally asked for Chinese dishes to be made with white meat for her. I prefer dark but splitting so no luck for me. LOL The General's Tao's Chicken came out to the table and dish looked very good. Their style of sauce for this dish is lighter in color not the very dark sauce you see at many buffets. The sauce was good and had a little spice on the end. Good dish overall, the only complaint I would have about this dish is the breeding is too much. The chicken gets a little lost. There is a bar with 2 TV's for the sports fan wanting to eat Chinese while watching the game. I will defiantly try this place again but will most likely order something without breading. read more

Definitely a hit or miss place I have had some alright meals here and some that made me feel sick after. Bar tenders are horrible can't make a mixed drink if there life depended on it. One time I was sitting at the bar later in the night talking with buddies and dropped a f-bomb when I saw a bad call on the game we were watching the bar tender told me to watch my mouth. Kinda pricy. If you wanna order an actual meal it has to be take out only... that's a huge flaw they have. If you dine in you have to order everything separately which gets expensive. If you want duck sauce or sweet and sour sauce it's sorta expensive as well. We had great service! She was upbeat, and attentive. We definitely do not give 4 out of five stars. Our crab Rangoon had more crunch than filling. The Pad Thai was made with flat lo mein noodles. The flavor was absent. The order of General Tso's Prawn shrimp was a huge portion but bad tasting. Even the fried rice was sour tasting. We both left with the taste of soap in our mouths. Good beer. My wife and I have been looking for a good Chinese restaurant south of Portland and we finally found one. Being from Massachusetts and Rhode Island where good Chinese restaurants are on every street corner, it took three years to finally find a good one not far from our house. The green tea serves a good mixture of Chinese food along with a drink special everyday. We came on $5 Sake day and that made the meal. Big portions and great taste. Green tea is my go to place when i want chinese, but there are not of other places. The food is overall good, but not consistent and always the fried food is horrible, the crab rangoon's, egg rolls are always way to over fried and crunchy, almost in-edible, such a shame as that is my favorite. They should be golden brown, crisp & tender, instead they are teeth breaking hard and dry. The chicken fingers are not as bad, but sometimes the outer batter is too crunchy. I hope the owners see these reviews and make improvements, the other items are typically good, lo-mein, rice, combo's apps good. I dont mind spending money on good food read more

After going to a not-so-friendly restaurant that's popular in Rochester, NH, and leaving before we endured what we knew was going to be less than stellar service, we decided to come to Green Tea instead. The staff were all so, so friendly and made one of the best mai thai's that my boyfriend and I have ever tried (tasty and able to tell there's alcohol in it).
