Lord's is delicious! I've only had the burgers there, which are smashed and yummy. Beware, though, they are greasy. Coleslaw is good and so are the fries. I have been to several places for fried clams. Portland Wells bidderford pool Kennbunk . I have been to Lord's at least 6 times this year and it is always consistently the best. Today I tried seafood scampi and fried clams for dessert. Scampi was great. Pasta was a little over cooked for me but I would definitely order it again. Fried clams were 10/10. You can't get better seafood especially at this price. read more

Vast menu, not just seafood. Had the scallop dinner and clam dinner. Hubby was very happy with the clams and the scallops were passable. The cold slaw has pineapple in it, not tradition, tasty but a bit odd with seafood. And the fries, though tasty are string fries more suited for a fast food place and a rather small portion. We did a take out, our order was for shrimp roll and lobster roll along side of calamari. We enjoyed our calamari. This seems like a must appetizer for my family! Shrimp roll was dynamite, loved how the shrimp was perfectly cooked. Lobster roll was delicious, they give mayo on the side. I found this to be an excellent idea; you can mix as much or as little as you want. And you know mayo is not used as a filler. Our takeout was great and the prices were fair. The food itself is great and you cannot go wrong. Highly recommend a visit, if you are in the area and craving some New England seafood, I am glad we did! read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is always very clean with a friendly staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] For the first time I ordered the Lazy Lobster $28.95. Advertised as chopped lobster meat from 2 lobsters. What I was served was a single teeny claw and chopped knuckle meat. I fully expected at a minimum of 4 claws and 2 tails. The manager explained the amount was 6 ounces equal to 2 lobsters. The menu is misleading. Very disappointed! No plans to go back or recommend the restaurant. Owners please take note. read more

Been going there about four years with some of the family. Some of my family travels to Sanford every month from Old Orchard. I'm big on clam chowder. In my opinion it's the best clam chowder I've ever had. And I've tried a lot of restaurants who serve it. The service is fast and good. What I like a lot of the items come small medium and large. I'm not a big fried seafood fan but this place wasn't bad. The fry was nice and light. Onion rings were really good! Seafood was fresh although I got a fried chIcken sandwich. The bun was kind of gross and the cheese even more gross. My main problem was the waste of tableware, containers and such. I can't imagine the cost of all that stuff. Why not use plastic baskets at least? I or probably won't be back simply because of all the waste. read more

If you loved Village Tavern under the previous owners, you should know that the beloved restaurant you remember no longer exists. The name is the same. The esthetic is the same. Some menu items even have the same names. But the experience is not. During our visit, the calamari, salmon, duck, and haddock were all cooked properly, yet each dish was surprisingly bland and forgettable. Many longtime favorites, including the wide selection of side dishes like the broccoli with blue cheese, are gone. This isn't a bad restaurant on its own merits. The problem is that it's trading on the reputation of something that no longer exists. What I find most puzzling is that the new owners kept the Village Tavern name while abandoning so much of what made it successful. When a restaurant has earned decades of loyalty, you would expect new ownership to preserve its strengths. Instead, it feels like they discarded the very things that built its reputation. I left disappointed, but mostly sad. A restaurant I once considered one of the best in Southern Maine is now simply pedestrian and overly priced. Former fans should adjust their expectations accordingly or avoid the disappointment altogether.

Lord's Clam Box,Sanford Maine During a recent shopping trip in the Sanford, Maine area, we decided to take a break for a quick lunch and stopped at Lord's Clam Box. Intrigued by the menu, which offered a variety of reasonably priced options, we decided to give it a try. Upon entering, we were greeted by friendly staff at the counter. After browsing the menu, we settled on a few items: Haddock Chowder, a Fried Haddock and Cheese Sandwich box lunch, a Fried Chicken and Cheese Sandwich boxed lunch, and two sodas. The total came to $40, which we found quite reasonable for a meal for two. After placing our order, we were given a pager that would alert us when our food was ready. We chose a table inside, and to our delight, our meals were ready in a very timely manner. The Haddock Chowder was a thin broth with a wonderfully creamy and buttery flavor. The Fried Haddock and Cheese Sandwich was equally tasty, perfectly fried and satisfying. The Fried Chicken and Cheese Sandwich also hit the mark. The restaurant itself was very clean, including the restrooms, which is always a plus in my book. Additionally, there was plenty of parking available, making it convenient for diners. If you find yourself in the Sanford area and are looking for a no frills quick meal at a decent price, I highly recommend trying Lord's Clam Box. Love, love, LOVE their fried whole belly clams, tastes like the ones I had as a kid. Makes all the other clam joints taste very bland, and a little rubbery. Lord's are awesome. I never order the dinner because I really don't care for what comes with it. So I get just the fried clams and an order of onion rings...delish also. I hear the scallops are great too, but I just can't take myself away from the clams. Oh, and their desserts...premium...no dried out cakes there. The staff has always been very friendly. I usually call in my order, and it's always ready in the less than ten minutes it takes for me to get there...of course it's not Mother's Day when I go...lol The prices seem compatible with other seafood places, but Lord's is much better quality...I have friends that tell me how their orders are...never a complaint. I even took some to a friends house in Lewiston, and she loved everything also...especially the potato salad...we reheated the clams and onion rings in her oven, which dried them out a bit, but still very good. I don't know why it's taken me so long to find Lords, never knew there was another location...which I hear is closed now. If you want good old fashioned fried clams, Lord's is the place to go! read more

My dad and I went in a few weeks ago. We really enjoyed the food. (Plus my boy friend works there) it's a very friendly staff, and GREAT FOOD!! THEY always welcome you with a smile. read more

I'd been coming here for at least 20 years, and in recent years it had been a favorite spot to eat outside when traveling with my dog. But now, we are not allowed to eat outside with a dog. Instead we had to order to-go and then walk down back to a 'dog area' which is a spot to the left of the building, below the parking area with one picnic table and some chairs in the woods. It was a beautiful sunny day, but we were getting eaten alive by no-seeums, which is not a nice experience when paying $100 for 1 meal with 6 scallops, 4 small pieces of fried fish, fries and slaw, an order of onion rings, a small clam chowder, and 2 beers. And $50 for a small lobster, an ear of corn, and an iced tea. I get that this is a tourist area, but $12 for a beer in a plastic cup and a $7.50 up charge for 6 scallops while being banished to a buggy spot that made eating very uncomfortable is a big no thank you for me. Crossing this place off my list, sadly. The upgrades and changes to this place are not a bonus at all. I'm sad that a place I always felt was friendly and welcoming is now overpriced and we all felt like we were being treated as second class citizens.
