Love this place. Immaculately clean. Food is good. It's easy beach food, but good. Kid friendly. 8 booths inside. Super friendly staff.

The french fries alone are why I love the place. They taste like they chopped a potato right there and tossed it into the frier. I'm sick of places that use the gross coated fries, Gilley's thankfully does not do that! It's a small little diner that's been around forever with only a few parking spots (like three or four) in a busy area of Portsmouth. The hours are a little wacky but it's always worth it. The fried egg and cheese and the grilled cheese are made about as perfectly as one could hope. Very greasy spoon diner type of grub. Reading some of the one star reviews, they seem to come from disgruntled people who have a weird agenda who also don't tip and are proud to mention it in their review... and this is the only place they've reviewed? Ignore them and just know the food is good. Only downside - It is cramped inside the little space. There are only a few (six?) stools inside - which is fine if the place isn't busy. I'd more recommend getting the food to go.

I think it is good after a night out kind of food, if you get what I mean. Simple, quick, and greasy. Now, I will say - I went with a large group of people one night after going on the harbor cruise and there was only one guy working. That man was the order taker, cashier, and cook, and everything else in between; he did a great job as far as handling the orders and getting the food cooked and out the door quickly, so kudos to him. Menu consists of burgers, hot dogs, fries, and some miscellaneous other items - again, very simple. Our group got a mixture of cheeseburgers, hot dogs, and fries - some "cheesy", others regular. I got a cheeseburger and regular fries. It was mediocre. Like I said, probably good after a night out food but for me, I it wasn't great.

The burger was one of the juiciest most wonderful burger I've ever had. The menu selection was very good, and I was put in a predicament where I didn't know what to order because everything looked so fantastic. He has since reopened a new business in the same location he had a taco place. (Of course, more than just tacos.) I was really bummed when that closed, but so happy he reopened into something new. The burgers are top notch. They are really good quality. Everything is fresh and made to order. We had a couple of his "off the menu" burgers and they did not disappoint. We also had a burger from the regular menu. I saw a FB post recently stating he created a Mexican dish that was being offered that day. Seriously, take it day by day and never go in with an expectation of what you "think" you will be ordering. He's full of surprises and we have never been disappointed with any dishes at any of his many business locations.

At the time of this posting, their website was still under construction and they will be offering DoorDash delivery. There are picnic tables in front of the trailer. After an appointment nearby, I stopped by the Trapped in York Maine food trailer. I decided to order a Small Trapped Meal ($24 plus tax) with a Small Lobster Roll, bag of Cape Cod Sea Salt Chips, watermelon cubes, 2 homemade Maine spice cookies, and a fresh lemonade. My order was prepared to order in about 8 minutes. I enjoyed my food outside. The Lobster Roll (3 oz of knuckle & claw meat in mayo) on a toasted New England hot dog roll. The watermelon and chips were good sides for the Maine style lobster roll. The 2 homemade sweet Maine spice cookies were soft and chewy. The iced lemonade was refreshing, as I enjoyed the rest in the ride after finishing my meal.

I was excited to find out that they are in fact open on Sundays- so Yelp is wrong about that. I got the large which is 6 oz on a hot buttered brioche roll, which can be served cold with just mayo, or warm with butter. I opted for the latter. It was DELICIOUS - more tail than claw- which made me extra happy!! The service was outstanding, I believe the owner was there- but the young lady was also quite sweet. They answered all my questions, both on the phone, and in person. I also ordered the haddock and fries for tomorrow- but of course I tried it. So tender and flaky!! Their fries are hand cut, and have both sweet potatoes and regular potatoes. So good! Lunch is going to be great tomorrow! The place is a yellow food truck, so seating is casual at picnic tables. It is quite lovely! I was hungry- so I had already taken a few bits of my lobster roll- sorry about that haha

I found them on Yelp, and highly rated, so that was enough for me !! Not a huge menu, but we easily found what we wanted. The burgers were on the slightly smallish side (compared to others I've had), but they were delicious, and with the accompanying fries for me and onion rings for him, we certainly didn't walk away hungry. The "classic" burgers that we ordered were well represented with the ingredients we like (beef, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle with some "hush" sauce - essentially thousand island dressing). We loved every bite !! We'd return here in a heartbeat, so if ever we're up in that area, we'll be getting those burgers again. Yummm.
