First of all (tapping mic) let me tell you about Evan... this young Man impressed me so much with his easy-going demeanor at the table, attentiveness and knowledge of the entrees as well. We were here on Monday 7.8.24 on a hot summer day but the air in Inn on the Blues was KICKING so much so I had to run and get sweatshirts (from the multitude of gift shops) for the little ones. Fisherman Basket with fried scallops, cod, shrimp and clams (YES with the bellies pfft I'm a New Englander after all) lightly breaded and so fresh. You'll need to ask for cocktail sauce if you would like to dip your shrimp in some. Little Bit had the philly cheese steak, I think it was good and my Son-in-law had the Atomic burger which he cleaned the plate so that is always a good sign, those onion rings were the bomb-diggity too! The grandkids devoured there food as well Kai especially liked the Pasta with plain butter and Khaleesi kept talking about the brioche bun for her burger A+A+A+. Those Crab Cakes with the Aioli is an ABSOLUTE must! Crust was crunchy and the meat inside was delicate and sweet just the right seasoning. LOVED this dish the most. View is awesome the music was upbeat and there was plenty of room for groups of 8-10 people. Full bar and we ordered shots to begin... because WHY NOT? it was our last full day of vacation! Located right on the main street and parking is across the street (if you are lucky to find it during the summer rush) I believe there is also parking around back towards the Zoo. It was a long hot day at home and we decided to hit York Beach for a comfortable evening. Only to arrive and to fog and rain. Walking around we decided to try some place new and hit Inn On the Blues. The staff was super friendly and we got a nice high top near the bar area. The place was as very spacious (we thought) and comfortable with table tops outdoor seating and booth seating options. The menu was diverse and provided us with options. If you were on a date or a group you all should be able to find something to eat. They have a stage for various performances but we did not stay that late to hear. Again the high top was a nice seating option until this group of 6 came to the bar to order drinks while waiting for upstairs seating. Two of women decided to use our high top as a leaning post while we ate. Completely oblivious that her hair was hanging over our table. We finished and left. Staff again was fantastic and the meal was great. A staff member did come by, maybe the manager and apologized for the lady. He did not know her but someone from the group. It was fine but would have stayed a bit longer to listen to the music. All good. read more

My husband and I went in for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. There were so many open tables. We asked if we could sit upstairs and outside. The hostess was extremely rude and put off. She tried to put us inside and we asked if we could sit out on the deck. She reluctantly gave us the one table that had a pole in the middle of the view, we politely asked if we could move over for a view. She said "I prefer you don't, it's the bartenders call" and walked away. So rude! we would not have requested a different table but the place was dead. There are not many places to go in York and this place has been here forever but it seems like since they know it's one of the only bar/restaurants they can have ridiculous prices for mediocre food. The lobster rolls are $42 for an extremely small amount and my friend's had a shell in hers. My husband's clam basket was $43 and we asked if it was clam belly's which were like half clam bellies half strips and the smallest we've had. The bartender was impatient with us although we had 5 people at the bar with appetizers and meals and cocktails for each and there were many available chairs. Our experience started off with my husband, politely asking for a table upstairs. The hostess snapped there's no tables available. To which my husband responded I saw plenty from theStreet. She then proceeds to tell us that they are all four top and because we are only two people we have to have another person to sit there. We say fine and she gives us a table outside downstairs .We look at the menus we decide what we're going to drink and eat and proceed to watch every waiter and waitress walk by us as the hostess is avoiding eye contact. We look around and the restaurant is half empty. We waited a good 15 minutes with everybody ignoring us, we decided to get up and leave. To which we look upstairs and there are still plenty of four Tops available an a nice two top right in the corner. I understand. It's the end of the season and everybody is tired but if you don't wanna work, just stay home. As a business owner, I find this unacceptable and you lost out on our business and we are exceptionally good tippers. When I told the waitress it was a little too strong and if I could just add a little more of the mixture, that would be great seeing as I just had a baby and it tasted like straight up vodka, I know some people like that and that's totally fine but when I see the bartender too, and then roll her eyes really makes me not wanna order any more drinks from them at least I'm not a person saying make it super strong. Out for a Sunday drive my husband and I decided to stop for lunch in York. The beach area was busy as would be expected for mid-August. We were able to be seat immediately and on the second floor with a beach view! We ordered drinks and food. I had a double Bloody Mary which was very good. We just happened upon this restaurant and so glad we did. Such a cute place, across the street from Long Sand Beach. The servers were on top of each of their tables and the service was fantastic! The Star of the show was definitely the food. My boyfriend and I decided to share a couple things. The bang Bang Shrimp was spot on and cooked perfectly. The Seafood fra Diavolo was fantastic. For the next 30-40 minutes we watched Spencer hang out around the bar area but never came back to take our food orders. We had no choice but to leave with our kids still hungry. If you would like to enjoy your dining experience with your loved ones, don't go here. The owner allowed by standers from the sidewalk come into the restaurant, berate and harass his patrons. The owner then kicked the diners out of the restaurant before finishing their meals. The owner made inappropriate comments to the guests stating "if they knew how to spell, they could figure out to spell his last name". My entire dining experience was ruined, I felt sick to my stomach & STILL was forced to pay my bill in full. I also saw the owner pocket one of the patrons (who was harassed by a bystander) phone from the table. Other than the location (especially the upper deck) this place stinks. We live in town and have gone for drinks to enjoy the weather and the views but the service and food is terrible. We went there two years ago and had an experience where the service and food was so bad that we threatened walking out. The manager came over and spoke with us and apologized and said he was going to comp our meal and give us a gift certificate. He instructed one of his waitstaff to take care of us, however she went over to the table next to us, comped their meal and gave them a gift card. Perfect. Well executed folks. I bet those folks will be repeat customers. We wanted to go to Stones Throw on Long Sands. Always good food and drink. Plus, the view is way better. As one would expect it was packed. Figured we'd give Inn on the Blues another shot. Mistake. Food was terrible and service was non-existent. Ordered a Coors Light got a Corona. Whatever, I like Corona. That was the last time anyone came over to check on us. Had to ask a passing waiter for another drink 30 mins later. Again, no one ever came over to check on us after that round of drinks. Had to stop a random waitress again to ask for the bill. The owners should shut down or have some restaurant makeover show come in and tell them how to fix these problems. We're done. read more

We had some really excellent food here yesterday. We were seated at a good distance from others and had very good service. We had chowder and a great strawberry walnut salad and lobster Mac and cheese (big portion) and a kids chicken tenders and fries along with a fish sandwich that was exceptional! Cooked just . Found this place by chance when we were looking for another restaurant. Seated relatively quickly for a weekend evening. Great environment, friendly staff, loved the porch seating and we even caught a fireworks show from our table. Loved the pretzels. My wife said the salad was fine but nothing special. The haddock tacos were good (but I don't care for corn tacos as they always seem a bit dry so I took the middle out and left the tortillas). Would definitely come back though. read more

My family and I were looking for something to do on a cold windy rainy no beach-beach day. We already hit up all the shops as well as the sites in neighboring beach towns. What else is there to do but have a drink!! We sat on the upper level balcony (although it was cold and windy I wanted to see the ocean) Our server was super friendly and attentive even though it was painfully obvious we were just killing time and not going to have a huge tab. The restaurant was slow being it was after lunch but before the dinner rush. We weren't really hungry (although the menu looked AMAZING) as much as we were looking for something to do. My husband ordered a Dark And stormy (best he has ever had he said) I ordered a wine, our daughter a soda. In a attempt to Not be "those customers" I also ordered a cup of clam chowder (perfect on a cold sea day) and they had soft pretzels. The chowder was AMAZING. Had I actually been hungry for a meal I could eat two bowls easily!! The pretzels were huge and soft and served with a very good beer cheese dip. Unfortunately this was our last day town. This place is right across from short sands beach. This is the second time I've been here and the first time was for wine and a flatbread (which really wasn't that great that night) so we had low expectations for lunch today- we were wrong. Our server was pretty laid back and down to earth but attentive. We were popping in for a lighter lunch because our intent was to surf afterwards so we ordered the mussels app and the steak tips entree to share. Both were excellent but the mussels were really the stand out with a generous portion, thick slices of grilled bread, and a lemony white wine broth. Order more bread before you even start eating- you'll need it to sop up the broth. We eat mussels almost every time we see them on a menu and prefer tomato based broths by far- this sparked a conversation changing minds. The steak tips were well seasoned with spices (could definitely taste the thyme) and were served with a rice and veggie blend with veggies on the side. It was done really well and we were satisfied. We'll definitely be back again hoping for the same experience next time we're back in Maine read more

I was so excited when I made my reservations online for the Inn. The restaurant downstairs looked delicious, the live band was going to be fun and I warned the kids it may be noisy there until late at night but they didn't seem to mind. We'd always wanted to go to Maine and how fun is this going to be! We were driving through Massachusetts the day of our reservation the first week of October when a lady called from the inn and told me my room would be unlocked and our key would be in the room. Ok? That's never happened to me before, but cool. They trust people. Well, once we got to the Inn we found our room and unloaded our things and realized not only were we the only ones in the entire inn, but we seemed to be the only people in the entire city. The website did not indicate that the town shuts down after Labor Day. They should really tell people that when they reserve rooms there. No food, no music, no stores, no anything. Luckily, not too far we did find one restaurant opened. The one plus was the rooms were updated and nice and outside is the ocean. But someone should've told us to prepare for a ghost town and gave us a huge discount. read more

Keisha was amazing. She gave us samples of three or four locally brewed beverages. As a person who grew up in South Berwick, ME I was pleasantly surprised by the hard cider on tap from Rollingsford, NH. I called that company and hope to go to their tasting room in the future. Fries were hot, my husband said they were "great". They were certainly abundant. The chicken tenders plate involved about three chicken breasts torn up, all white meat, served with barbecue sauce. The child size portion of mac and cheese (for $4.99) looked like half a box of Kraft and also included a giant portion of fires. We took the fries to go and ate them the next day for lunch. This is the off season, with a smattering of customers. I'm not sure why the tour bus with twenty people getting out to stay at the Inn upstairs did not come in for food; that was their loss! read more
