i ordered wonton soup, beef chow fun, and lemon chicken to be delivered on easter sunday. i received the food very quickly. i was in total shock when the car pulled up with the food. i cant say a bad word about their delivery service. the wonton soup was tasty but there were only 6 wontons in the container. in new york, they give you 8. the lemon chicken could have used some more lemon flavor. it was rather plain. my problem was with the beef chow fun. on the grub hub menu it said fat noodles. i order either beef or chicken chow fun all the time back home in new york. look at the picture, this is not fat noodles! is mesa's idea of fat noodles what is shown in the picture? it certainly isnt in new york. as far as the restaurant itself goes, which i was at 2 weeks ago, has yellow tape on the floor. the person who sat us didnt say anything about the yellow tape and my friend and i both nearly tripped as the floor was extremely slanted. What is a problem is being in a booth for an hour and 20 minutes with no food or update in sight. I was also told the order wasn't even put in to be made when my son was checking with a person. I was not overly impressed with a takeout order my mother placed & picked up for our lunch recently. I was recovering from an operation & chose China Palace. I hate to rate it 3 stars, but based on this experience, I have no choice. I based my order off of the website: Seafood Chow Mein (Lobster, Shrimp & Scallops w/ Yellow Egg Noodles. When my mother placed the order at the restaurant to go, the associate claimed that he needed to figure out how to 'substitute' the yellow egg noodles. This was confusing, because the menu says that is what it already comes with. Instead of arguing, she just waited for him to figure out the order. The yellow egg noodles were burnt & dried out; I am not sure what it would've come with in its place, but now I think we should have just taken whatever we were going to be given. They tasted awful... Instead of miso soup, we somehow got the Chinatown Wonton soup. Something about the wontons tasted strange, almost like a 'plastic' flavor. They were kind of slimy. In the end, it appears that miso soup isn't an option on the menu, but why didn't the gentleman tell my mother & offer something else instead? They do have very decent crab rangoons. This experience in no way has deterred me from continuing to dine here, just disappointed. read more

This joint deserves a second rave review. If you love old school Oriental, then you'll love The Palace. For a full review and deets see my previous review... I had the Palace Fantasia again and it was absolutely mental. The shrimp was outta sight. I'm not a shrimp guy but these puppies were butterflied and tender AF and huge and could almost pass for lobster tails if you were buzzed enough. The veggies were kray kray as was the Yo-Yo/Goo-Goo sauce it came with. It was presented wicked pissah in a silver pladder with lid. Rice came with (no upcharge) and in a silver-lid pladder too. The entree has fried pork wontons included as well as chicken, pork and beef and all was actual real meat. A total bang for the buck here. Like only 15 bucks or so. My One, Moey, had a Lunch Special which was yumski. No problems there. The drinks are great here too and our waiter, Mark, was on point and was friendly as hell. I dig how they serve drinks in tiki mugs -old school. Plates and placemats are old school too. Great pride is taken here and it shows wicked big time. Anyhoot, 'nuff said. It's scrump and delish AF here. Cool place too! We enjoy hanging in place all time it has the Happy spot! Much many Big time to eat and the drink. Peep it out, bro. read more

The one thing the Palace had going for it was that it was better than the only other Chinese place in town. Now, it doesn't even have that. The service in the bar was good, but the food was really awful. I'd be embarrassed to put that crap on a guest's table, even if it was free, and it's not. Bone-dry fried wontons, dreadful squishy steamed dumplings, nasty fried rice. They used to serve a good Mai-tai when Alaina tended bar, but even those suck now. Weak. The bar will always include a couple of over-served, loud drunks. If you're in the mood for Chinese, try Eastern Paradise at the ridge instead. It's out of town, but worth the trip to avoid this place. read more

The food was amazing actually some of the best Chinese food we ever had the drinks are to die for as well I'm a huge Grateful Dead fan but here the Scorpion bowl was definitely better everything in my pictures was under $50 the waitress there was extremely friendly and she does her job well :) seriously for the low staffing that woman should get a raise! I love China Palace Restaurant the food the drinks environment and employees!! Definitely going there another time.. FYI if you like hot mustard theirs has a sting to it!! read more

Update time again. Thankfully, it seems the dip in quality and service was temporary due to COVID and the many challenges it presented in its earlier days. We have returned several times since my last post and had a positive experience every time. I have also never once had a rude server or seen any sign of the restaurant being dirty or anything "untoward" in the food, so I would venture a guess that several of the reviews here are more about personal vendettas or just generally unhappy people than their actual experiences. Do not eat at this restaurant. My son and I both got sick but the manager was very rude, implied we were lying and wouldn't even give us a partial refund. It's pretty obvious that the food made us sick as we were the only two who ate that dish and the only two who got sick. We've been eating there for years, and even though the quality kept going down, we wanted to support them. Never again. We also filed a report with the health department, which the manager said was our only option. The scallops & shrimp chop suey is what made us sick. My son didn't realize that the seafood had gone bad at first because his sense of smell isn't very good. I only took two bites from his plate before realizing something was very wrong and smelled the food in the takeout container. It was awful, it smelled like low tide and the seafood was definitely bad. (Even if it hadn't been, the whole dish was a manky mess of grey, overcooked vegetables.) The manager claimed that nobody else complained that day (that means nothing, many people don't bother, they just don't go back) and that the kitchen staff had just opened that container of seafood (again, that means nothing if the seafood in the container has gone bad). Of the rest of the food we got, the boneless spare ribs were ok, but were really fatty. The General Tso's chicken was fine but nothing special. However, the sweet and sour chicken was disgusting and not like any other version of that I've ever had. It was just 4 really doughy chicken fingers drowning in a pink syrup (which tasted like straight corn syrup), with no vegetables, 1 small piece of pineapple and a bunch of maraschino cherries. It was shockingly bad. We aren't able to get take out very often and were hoping for a special dinner that night. Instead, we got atrocious food and got sick. Absolutely horrible customer service. I'm Currently sitting in the Start I came to enjoy some time with my friends. As I sit down the The waitress is absolutely unbelievably rude. I am a female and yes I am wearing a baseball cap. Mind you she cannot even see my eyes. As she walks up to our table she says to me very loudly as the rest of the room is looking over " umm hello are you awake you kinda need to be awake and alert to be in here" so I look up so she can see my eyes" then continues to rudly ask if I'm OK an asks us for our drinks. I came a few weeks ago an had a root beer. I ask nicely choosing to ignore the ignorance root beer please. Then she again very rudely says we don't have it coke products and lists of a few sodas. Big disappointment & literally the Worst Chinese food we have ever ordered! Rice tasted off, like it was really old, and the veggie lomein was bland, with very few veggies. I was visiting someone in the area and we came here to get an order for takeout to take back to their house. We got the Pu Pu platter and a side of their pork fried rice to go. We received our order pretty fast and it was still hot when we got it to the house. All of the appetizers on the Pu Pu platter were cooked just right and I would definitely say that the chicken wings and chicken fingers were my two favorite items that were included. We really enjoyed the pork fried rice as well. Very flavorful and delicious. The portion sizes were decent and were a good value for the money. The only thing that I found kind of odd was that the Pu Pu platter for two only came with one egg roll which was fine since I don't like egg rolls but I would definitely recommend ordering a side order of egg rolls if you are wanting an egg roll and the other person in your party also likes egg rolls. I immediately called And instead of getting any kind of satisfaction, I was rudely told it was in the bag. I asked for a replacement or a refund, and they absolutely refused and put me on hold for 15 minutes and then said I would have to speak to a manager or the next day. Upon calling the next day, there is no manager and no one still to help me, I will be disputing my entire payment of the order. Poor service, and not very good food. read more

However I can no longer support an establishment where a particular employee (who seems to be in charge now) has an unpleasant attitude toward their job and it's customers. The food is fine. No issues there. However, I live less than 3 minutes away from this place. I ordered 2 meals for delivery and was told it may take 45 minutes. Fine. I understand there are other deliveries. After 1 hour and 15 minutes, I called to find out why I was still waiting for my food. They told me it had been delivered to the wrong location. They would make me nee meals and send them out. I asked if they would be able to compensate me for the inconvenience of having to wait more than an hour and a half for my meals. They stated they CA ould not do anything for me that day, but would comp me 2 meals at a later time. I would just have to call it in and provide my name. I did so a couple of weeks later. They told me they had no record of the comped meals. I said that was not ok and the person on the line said he'd ask his manager what they could do. The manager flat out denied my comped meals. An hour and a half to get a meal from a place 3 minutes away and then still have to pay full price? Then to have them not keep their promise of comped meals, refusing to make it right? Unacceptable. The dry fried rice, doughy dumplings with little filling nor sauce to dip in, and even the chewy general tso with no sauce can be overlooked by many, but what really will keep me from ever ordering from them again is the experience with their ridiculous, aggressive, and rude delivery driver from his terrible attitude in the very beginning, to the way he waited til my door was closed to curse me out (tough guy), to the very end when he chose to rev his big red pickup truck engine and peel out of the neighborhood. Quiet possible the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten. The pan fried noodles had a weird gray hue, and a weird burnt taste. The salt and pepper chicken was flavored ok but the chicken was dry and the breading soggy. We also ordered a #16 the fried rice looked burnt and again weird chemical flavor and burnt. I got the LS #13 Szechuan Chicken with Pork Fried Rice & Egg Roll ($7.45 plus tax), which was quickly cooked to order in the small open kitchen area behind the takeout counter. The restaurant also has a full service dining room and a tiki themed lounge. Washroom was remarkably clean (washed my hands). The food was ready to go in under 10 minutes. The portion of food (combo) was enough for 2 meals. The Szechuan chicken consisted of chopped celery, carrots, green & red peppers, boneless chicken chunks in a thick (gel like) spicy sauce, no peanuts in this dish. The pork fried rice (dark) had traces of sprouts and small roast pork chunks. The egg roll was very crispy filled with cabbage, ground pork and spices. Overall, the food was decent. read more

I have tried this place two different times and the food is not good. The fried rice is absolutely disgusting. The batter on the sweet and sour chicken is not cooked completely.
