While there are many reviews on both sides or positive and negative I personally have enjoyed many of the meals I have ordered here. They are always very friendly and helpful with menu selections. I personally enjoy their Pork Loin Mein, most of the soups I have tried and most of their appetizer menu. Limited seating but they focus mostly on takeout. read more

We recently got takeout from Spring Garden in Barrington, NH- The food was super fresh, and was ready very quickly. The portions are good, and it's always a pretty good value. What a wonderful little family owned place. You are greeted as you enter, with a friendly welcome. The food is prepared to order and tasted great. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. There are a few tables which are clean. There is a beverage cooler with cold drinks and a to go station with chopsticks, sauce and cutlery. Very impressed! My wife had tried lunch here recently and gave the chicken wings very high marks. I had tried the chicken fingers (a typical favorite) but didn't love the taste... This was my first time getting a full meal - We got 2 dinner combo plates. All the food was very fresh, hot and tasty. We're picky about fried rice but this PFR was flavorful with fresh sprouts etc. A+. I'm always surprised that many Chinese restaurants overlook the fried rice and have only average soft and bland fried rice, not the case here... Chicken and beef teriyaki were very good as well. COVID precautions were the highest. Service was fast and convenient.Excellent surprise, great job Spring Garden! This place deserves much higher marks. Don't hesitate to give them a try. Very decent local Asian takeout! The ordering by phone is always easy, and the customer service is very professional. The value is surprisingly affordable. Some dishes I prefer over others as anyone would. FYI the spring roll is pan fried for a touch of crispness. I prefer the raw method, but still tasty. Many dishes to try, and I appreciate their contact-free setup for Covid. Always easy parking, and all the condiments and utensils are available without asking. Really affordable and convenient local takeout. We've ordered here a few times and found that their fried rice and lo mein are not super flavorful though; I think they really just need to use more garlic and season the woks a little more for those. Their Kung Po chicken is good and comes with a small jasmine rice, which is nice. The steamed pork dumplings are fantastic. Nothing is too greasy or salty, and the portions are generous. read more

I stopped for lunch takeout at Spring Garden in Barrington, NH very recently. I ordered the Lunch Combination 11: Shrimp Lo Mein ($5.85 plus tax) served with Pork Fried Rice & Choice of Appetizer (I chose 2 chicken teriyakis). The food was cooked promptly in the open kitchen and the order was ready in about 10 minutes. The lo mein was a simple dish, which had cabbage, carrots, sprouts, onion, scallions, soft shrimp (most cleaned) tossed with a slightly salty broth under the soft noodles. The pork fried rice (light brown color) was cooked just right with a soft texture and mixed with roast pork chunks (some fat pieces), sauteed onions and sprouts. The chicken teriyaki sticks however were chewy, a bit dry inside, and charred on the outside, seems like they deep fried the chicken teriyakis in very hot oil. I would choose another appetizer next time. Overall, the food I had was pretty decent with a good lunch portion of food and priced fairly. We were visiting from out of town and dropped in here because it is right next door to the movie threatre we were going to watch a movie at. I enjoyed the General Tso's chicken with fried rice. My wife got Singapore noodles and they were made spicy for my wife who is Asian. She asked for spicy sauce to add to it and they brought out garlic chili sauce which was awesome. I thought the noodles were good the way they came out. We believe we got our 7 year daughter and 3 year old lo mein which they liked. We cannot exactly remember what got the kids as we were visiting around Thanksgiving and about 7 months have passed. The price was reasonable for everything. read more

Great little hole in the wall which offers consistent results; in the 13 years I've eaten here I've never had a meal that's tasted like it was undercooked or otherwise "off". Been getting take-out since we moved here eight years ago. Vegetables are always very fresh and plentiful, chicken is always tender, and sauces really tasty. Although we also like Japanese, Thai, Korean, Spring Garden is by far the best Chinese around. We've been to all of them and always come back here. We suggest take-out only. read more

I recently visited Spring Garden on a Sunday mid afternoon and picked up a togo order of Sweet 'n Sour Chicken and Chicken Fried Rice, it was ready in about 15 minutes as promised, the young girl behind the counter was super friendly and accommodating to my special request as far as packaging it was concerned and the place while obviously not new, was nice and clean with an open kitchen allowing folks to see the help and their food being prepared. The chicken itself was super tender and without any of the over cooked super crunchy / tough pieces that sometimes occurs in the frying process especially during slow periods like the middle of a Sunday afternoon. However the sauce was rather plain and uninspiring, seemed like a mixture of sugar, food coloring and water, very little flavor and definitely nothing extra like pineapple chunks or cherries in it, I give it a C+ The Rice was also nicely cooked, no noticeable clumping or stickiness of overcooking, and had a nice light brown color to it, however once again very plain in flavor, really nothing special about it, it's rice, and had some nice big chunks of chicken in it, but no noticable amounts of vegetables or egg or any of the other usual fried rice add ons, but still a solid B- Overall I will likely try them again, especially if in the Barrington area, but I don't see this becoming one of my favorites. read more

Not good, portions were good pork fried rice was old and dry and tasted like cigarette butts, boneless spare ribs were scraps of meat swimming in sauce. Chicken fingers were ok and egg roll was good. Place advertises dine in....well they have cheap plastic utensils I ruined my shirt as the spoons were not strong enough to handle the wontons in the wonton soup and t kept dropping back in and splashing on me. Lights were off until I sat down then they came in and turned them on. Not a good place I won't be back. read more

They are OK. I have ordered many times over the past few years. Sometimes it's great and sometimes not so much.

I've been ordering Spring Garden for about 12 years now. About 75% of the time it's a hit rather than a miss. Most of the times there's barely any pork in the fried rice. And here and there the chicken fingers are undercooked. But those would really be my only complaints. A few times though they had messed up my order but had no problems fixing it. They have great customer service and I feel like they believe the customer is always right which is truly important for a business. I've never eaten at the restaurant though. There seems to be little to no lighting inside and few tables for seating, and the temperature is either super warm or freezing. No in between really. So if you're looking for a good choice for takeout, this is a great choice. They also started doing online ordering! read more

Our family finds the food delicious and reasonably priced.

We ordered from here for my son's birthday. All I can say is I was very disappointed. He loves beef teriyaki and what we got was their version of it and he wouldn't touch it after the first bite. It had none of the normal teriyaki glaze you would expect, it was just bare beef on a stick with some odd flavor. Everything else was mediocre at best and all of the leftovers went untouched in the fridge until we threw them out. I always hate to give a bad review to a restaurant as I know it is hard to make a restaurant work and earn money, but I just was so disappointed by all of the food that I can't really put a positive spin on this experience. I called in the order - they said "10 minutes" and when I got there, it took them 15 minutes to even acknowledge me and then after another 30 minutes - He said "what is your order?" We often get take out from them and have always been pleased. Are you kidding me about New Years Eve?? Of course it is going to take forever, try any other chinese restaurant and you will get the same on that night! We have ordered from other restaurants hours before, and our food has still been late on that evening, because EVERYONE orders chinese on that night! It helps to order very early in the day, but it probably will still be a little late on New Years, otherwise, we have always had our food ready when we arrived. 10 minutes usually. read more
