Doesn't look like much from the outside, but let me tell you, this is probably the best Chinese food I've had in NH in YEARS! My go to place has gone down hill tremendously since Covid happened, since then, I've been searching for the next best thing and I'm pretty sure I found it. Last night was our first time trying Oriental Delight, it's about 15 minutes from home, but well worth the drive. I got an appetizer combo with chicken finger, beef teriyaki, boneless ribs and crab Rangoon, it doesn't not come with rice so a small order of fried rice was also ordered. Everything was so delicious, cooked fresh, flavorful and just yum!! The fried peking dumplings were also delicious, not overly greasy like some places. The duck sauce was a little different than what I'm used to, but not a deal breaker. Can't wait to go back and try more new things! read more

Does this place really deserve 5 stars? Probably not. But when you want something specific and they deliver to your tastebuds, 5 stars it is. My friend got 2 rolls. She liked them both. They looked pretty. The guys making them never seemed to speak a word nor did their hands stop. It was fun watching. I got General Gao. It was good. I work at a nursing home and I just called to order food for 6 of our residents for delivery. The man I talked to was extremely rude and said that I would have to call back at 5 o'clock to order. I asked him when would be the earliest they can deliver the food and he said "Maam, we do not have a driver until 5:00 and I have no idea how busy we will be at that time". We were just told to leave on a Wednesday night because I complained we were waiting over 40 minutes with no food. I asked to speak with the person in charge. He was totally arrogant and insisted everyone else was waiting without complaining and so should I. I told him this level of service was unacceptable and he told us to leave. If this is the attitude then there is no incentive to improve. I have eaten at hundreds of restaurants all over the world and this is the first time a complaint over service got me thrown out! They were busy but they were able to get us a table for 6 relatively quickly. We were given tea and asked for drinks which was great. The food was good however I wasn't a super big fan of my lamb dish. Again that's just one dish but I'm sure other meals there are probably better. I will definitely be going back. The 'manager' just hung up on me when I complained about getting getting fried rice with six peas and a glob of scrambled egg instead of beef fried rice in my delivery order. I have been ordering from Oriental Delight for decades. It was a favorite for me and my late mother. I recommended it to my friends and family. Never again. You can see from the most recent posts this place is going downhill and going down fast. Wish I had know that before I ordered there today. I hadn't been in months because we'll..mits not healthy...but it is (or was) usually good service and delicious food. Not today! I called for take out and was VERY clear that I wanted the beef teriyaki dinner from the Japanese menu. I said it exactly like that. Twice. Well when the good arrives guess of course what comes. Beef teriyaki appetizer...the kind on the stick from the Chinese menu. Not only that but unfortunately the otherwise nice kid delivery driver had to hit his breaks super hard and my entire combo plate was a trashed mess. So needless to say I asked if he would return the steak on the stick and make me another combo plate. Well I guess that infuriated the owner Kevin because he called me back to CHEW ME OUT ON THE PHONE and to blame me for not being clear what I wanted. I was flabbergasted and reminded him that I was VERY CLEAR he just didn't listen. He wouldn't let it go. He insisted that I did not. He wanted to fight with me over it! Then when I said he should be apologizing to me he hung up on me! I wasn't sure if I was getting my replacement food so I called back. He was even MORE rude this time saying that customers are not always right. Can you believe it? Before I could ask if my food was coming he hung up on me again! And then again a 3rd time when I called to find out who he was and to speak to a manager. Well he's the owner. He has a terrible attitude and doesn't appreciate his customers. Now to the food. Horrible soggy crab rangoon. 3/4 of the chicken in the sesame chicken was rock hard and inedible. Egg Foo young was undercooked and they have a new sauce that isn't like your normal sauce. This is extra garlic and watery. Fried rice bland tasteless and watery! As for the beef teriyaki don't know yet it's for the roomie. I won't be going back for a long long time ... Maybe ever. I cheated on Kim Lai today. What can I say? It happened. I was in a new town and the Oriental Delight was looking hot. I only meant to say hi, but .. well, one drink led to another and... Okay, I jest. but I do feel like I cheated on Kim Lai since that is where I always go when I'm in the mood for Chinese. My daughter and I stopped in here while in Dover and got our regular order of appetizers with the Pu Pu Platter. Everything tasted different and delicious. They have the best crab rangoon I've ever had - fat and full of yummy sweetness. The absolute best. Everything was so darn good. Our service was prompt and courteous. Quite impressive. It's hard to get good Chinese food outside of big cities-- I don't know why. But every time I've had a Chinese meal in rural PA or suburban VA or NH it was been inedible. When I saw this place, I just had to try it. I had to know if it was possible to make decent Chinese food in a small town. It is! My husband and I tried to span the entire menu (and boy it is a large menu-- actually 2!)-- we got a green salad, veggie dumplings, alaska roll, and veggie pan fried noodles. Green salad-- iceberg lettuce, mixed veggies, weird dressing. I am an enormous fan of Asian salad dressing-- anything with sesame or ginger is good with me. But here, it seemed like they dressed the salad in soy sauce and oil. I love soy sauce, but soy sauce is not salad dressing. They are different things. We finished the salad but I don't think I would reorder. Veggie dumplings-- I didn't even get to try one, my husband ate every single one before I got a chance. This is probably a good sign although I remember him mumbling something about bad dipping sauce. Alaska roll-- surprisingly fresh salmon. It's always a risk to get raw fish at unfamiliar restaurants, but this time it paid off. Another note-- why are sushi rolls always ENORMOUS when you leave New York City? There were pretty much as big as my mouth and took a good minute to chew. I think it's a "bigger is better" kind of thing. Which isn't necessarily true, but the quality was high enough that I was OK with it. Fried noodles-- perfect. I mean, I could go through and critique little things like how there were 4 pieces of broccoli, 3 baby corns and like a hundred tasteless water chestnuts. Or how it was overflowing with greasy thick white sauce. But at the end of the day, I ate every last noodle. And it was delicious. It actually had almost the same flavor as the fried noodles I get in New York, which is a huge compliment. The service was the only thing that was lacking. We didn't have one waiter, we had 2 or 3 (not in a good way-- in a disorganized way). And none of them thought to refill the water the entire time we were there. It took a good 5 minutes to track someone down for the check. Oriental Delight was a huge win for me. I've been advocating moving to New Hampshire for years now, but whenever we come up my husband has some critique about it being too small or too far away or it not having decent Chinese food. They did a great job renovating from lucky garden into this Chinese / Japanese combo. I recommend the teriyaki beef for lunch, and I'm not talking about teriyaki on a stick. I've been back several times and really enjoyed the food. Especially the Szechuan double cooked pork.

This is by far the best Chinese food around. We usually order our lunch on Thursday or Friday and it's always fantastic. I have no problem with the food or the restaurant, but the girl who answers the phone is something else. She has the worst attitude for answering the phone. Every time I call she treats me like I'm bothering her and she is completely inconvenienced by the call. She is very rude on the phone. It's a shame that a good restaurant will loose business because of an ignorant child. Hope they get rid of her and get someone else. Great food lousy customer service. read more

I am so shocked at what just happened. I called to order Vday dinner and informed the guy taking the order that my daughter is allergic to eggs so please no eggs in the rice. He said he couldn't do that because it is premade as an appetizer plate. (Never heard that before but ok) I said ok what if I just order a side of fried rice can that be made without the eggs and he said yes. So I added that. Then I further explained to him that I still wanted the appetizer plates but can he just put the meat in a different container so we can share and he said no. I told him I am willing to pay extra for the container and rudely yelled at me NO. I calmly told him "Sir, my daughter is allergic to eggs and if she ingests it she will get ill." He proceeded to yelled at me and told me to order from somewhere else. What has happened to human kind?? Has the world really come to this? It is so sad that we can't help each other in the smallest of ways. What would it have taken for him to give me another container so my daughter can enjoy the meal as much as the rest of us? The atmosphere was nice. The menu is vast (maybe too vast!?) My $4 all iceberg house salad had the strangest ginger dressing on it. It resembled sweet potato baby food (very thick and clumpy) and had a flavor I could not stomach... and I've never met an Asian dressing I did not like. Basically untouched, I told my server I didn't care for it, she did not seem to understand or care. Moving on. I also ordered a shrimp tempura roll which was made so short and fat that each piece was 3x bigger than what any average woman would prefer a bite to be. But who wants to try and cut up sushi? It was really hard to enjoy (and eat without making a scene). Didn't help that the shrimp tails were deep fried onto the shrimp. This was our go to place for Chinese to-go. We are originally from Massachusetts where there is many good and fresh take out places. It has recently undergone a menu update, and last night we picked up a simple Pu Pu platter for two and some Pork fried rice. The rice was disgusting. It went in the trash. The boneless ribs were overcooked, the chicken wings were salty. 2 instead of 4 teriyaki. All in all, it looked like it had been cooked days earlier and somehow heated up last night. I see in their menu that they have increased their sushi menu. We will look for someplace else. They had no problem taking our money for this garbage. read more
